I was incredibly disappointed with our experience ...

I was incredibly disappointed with our experience with this dealership. If I can save anyone else a big headache and disappointment I will. I've never written a negative review online before but these guys ticked me off. We bought a used truck from them that did not perform as advertised.
My MAJOR FRUSTRATIONS:
1.I was pre-approved from my bank at home for the loan amount needed. Their finance manager informed me they couldn't use my credit union because it wasn't connected to one of the big 3 (connexus etc) so I had to go with one of their banks which cost me an extra 0.5% interest-which when I called my bank after the fact found out they fed me a load of crap to make more money off of me!
2. upon calling the salesman and informing them of the mileage being double the advertised amount and having friends with the same engine getting much better mileage they offered an exchange within 30 days. (I'm not a moron I know vehicles usually do 20-30% worse than advertised...but over double??) They didn't bring in a 3/4 ton truck within that time frame except one for $8000 more. 2.5 months and less than 5000km after buying the truck they brought in a duramax that I wanted and they said they'd have to start the trade in process all over and charge all the fees blah blah...I asked to talk to the manager about it one week and counting he hasn't bothered to phone me back.
3. As a consolation they offered to give me some tires 'at cost' well when I compared pricing not to mention the gas required to drive back there...their 'cost price' was regular price elsewhere for same tires.
4. Salesman Mark Sugar didn't bother to get ahold of the previous owner to inquire about some aftermarket work that had been done as he promised because once I left the building and they had my money they didn't care to deal with me.
**This dealership does not care about the customer, only your money. BUY ELSEWHERE.

With Jami and Dean helping me out with financing and then finding the right vehicle for me, this experience was made very pleasurable. Jami is very knowledgeable about each vehicle. She listens to your wants and needs when buying and makes sure to follow up that you are happy with your purchase. She went over the entire vehicle with me explaining what each button was for and made me feel extremely comfortable driving away in my vehicle. Will def be back to purchase at SMP in the future!

My very first new to me vehicle purchase happened here on the weekend and I loved the atmosphere! They were very accommodating, informative and I enjoyed their sense of humour. There wasn t any pressure into buying a vehicle - I told them what I was looking for and they were excellent at helping me pick out what I needed! Thank you Jeff and Dean and everyone inbetween! You have gained/earned our business for years to come! The only part I was a tad bit disappointed with was the interior. I felt that it wasn t as clean or shiny as a person would hope for their very first new to me vehicle but other than that - the experience was wonderful! Thank you!

This dealership was by far the best experience I have personally had with purchasing a vehicle. After 3 nightmare dealerships I dealt with I highly recommend SMP. Even more so I recommend Samantha she made getting out of my 2007 Cadillac very simple and into my new to me 13 Silverado! Thank you!

Don't go here. Dishonest and shady and the work isn't reliable.

I went in because I thought my brakes were needing pads/rotors. First they quote me unreasonably high prices for parts. I ask why the parts are so pricey compared to what I see online and they say its because they are GM OEM parts. I ask for them to put in aftermarket parts and they say they'll check prices and call back. 10 mins later they call and say they can give me the OEM parts for aftermarket prices. Coincidentally the aftermarket prices are exactly 1/2 of the original price they quoted.

Near the end of the day they call me and say the rear caliper is seized and I need a new one. They say this is why I'm hearing the pads squeal/grind. They've already replaced all 4 rotors and pads. I ask if the other rotors they replaced were still good and they say they don't know. I get the caliper replaced and ask for my old rotors back when I pick up the truck. The one with the bad caliper is bad but the others are still good. I ask them in a follow up call why they didn't tell me the rotors didn't need replacing and they say its because I asked for them to 'do' the brakes and not 'check' the brakes.

$1800 later but hey, at least I have all new brakes, right? 2 days later the brake fluid leaks out and I'm left in the middle of the city with no brakes. The initial statement was they would look at it but felt confident they hadn't done anything wrong and it was likely a new issue. When pressed, they then told me they had put refurbished parts on, which was not the representation they gave in the quote.

Stacey provides the following feedback about this: "there was an insufficiency in the copper washers that came with the new caliper". They should take responsibility for their work and not blame it on parts. Seeing as they put in a re-manufactured caliper, not a new one - something they didn't mention until the brake fluid leaked out- they probably reused the copper washer as well.

Went with my mother to look at some pre owned cars at smp. She was taken care of by Spencer who was very professional and knowledgeable of the cars. The team made her feel very comfortable financing a car and will definitely return for myself.

Very bad customer service at the service department.. a scratch on my car and didn't take the responsibility. Did some touch up and made it even worse. Certainly won't be going back there again

Does not deserve even a one star rating. I was provided a Car Proof Report that was not current (extensive hail damage overlooked), a "certified extensive inspection report" that indicated no issues with the automatic transmission (the vehicle is manual), oil change with oil not recommended by the manufacturer, a "no hidden fees" that did not mention a $599.00 Documentation Fee, a salesperson who did not even have a basic knowledge of the brand of vehicle I was interested in purchasing and casually dismissed the issue of the vehicle drifting when driven and the substantial paint pitting on the front, rear and sides of the vehicle. Shopping at SMP stresses the importance of "caveat emptor"! P.S. I had to ask about any "hidden fees" before disclosure by the sales manager and salesperson. With regards to the "mistake" made by the technician with respect to the condition of the transmission, the technician checked off in two separate boxes that the manuel transmission (vehicle has a automatic transmission). Lastly, I had to ask why the vehicle was covered with pitting before the salesperson disclosed that it had been damaged by hail.

Wow what an honest place to shop!! I had an ignition problem and everyone I talked to said I would need to change my ignition switch. when I called SMP Auto Parts asking if it could be worn out car keys for my 1997 Sunfire. The guy said it is very possible that could be the problem. Well moral of the story is Steve the auto parts fellow cut me a new key and the car turned over like as if I had a brand new ignition switch!! I am so thankful to you Steve for helping me with my problem and saving me a big auto repair bill.

Big thanks to SMP and Eben McCrea for helping me find the truck I was after, which was not easy for Eben as I am quite picky. Parts department has been great in finding me some odd ball parts to help make the new Silverado stand out as well. I wont be able to comment on how good the service department is because... Well, I bought a Silverado thats made from thunderstorms and tornadoes.... it will run infinity miles... HAHA

Kidding aside, I don't doubt the service department is every bit a good as the Sales, Financing, and Parts departments that I have already dealt with. If you're wondering if you need to drive around the country side checking other dealers for prices, don't bother. I spent a couple months doing that and found the best deal at SMP.

Before arriving on site I knew exactly what I wanted and did not want to be upsold or have my mind changed.
The salesman I dealt with - Eben McCrea - did none of these things. He showed me the vehicle I was interested in, was very knowledgeable and personable. He made the experience totally enjoyable.
Dean Blatz took me through the financial end of things very clearly with an eye to my needs and situation. It was pleasant going through the process and I felt 'heard'.
Overall, going to SMP and particularly these 2 folks made this the best experience I have had dealing with a vehicle purchase. I will definitely return for any future needs and am a very satisfied customer.

Went in there 1 month after my daughter was born looking for a new vehicle. Was told I was signing a paper confirming break down of price (I know should have read the fine print). Received multiple calls in the next two weeks, asking when I was coming in to purchase. 4 months later found out they ran my credit with out being informed. Not sure why they would have done this because I told the sales lady I would not be the one purchasing the vehicle. ( because I'm on mat leave lol). Now telling me I signed the paper so too bad. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! Especially for a new mother on mat leave. Ended up purchasing from Watrous mainline (highly recommend)

Best car shopping experience I've ever had by far! I've previously bought 3 vehicles from dealerships and have never had such a low stress experience in a dealership. Tom Walker manager and Phillip Li salesman made the whole experience easy, carefree, answered all my questions and made sure I understood everything that was taking place. Good enough for a new car dealership I'm sure but I bought as-is and they would only reduce their asking price by $500 even though there was around 3k worth of work needed. Then they acted like it was such a huge favor. They even gave me a condition that I would give them a 5 star review to reduce the price by $500. Drove the vehicle for around 600km/1.5 months after sinking 3k into it, to find out the front diff is shot. They wouldn't even consider giving me a break to help fixing it. Would not recommend. Sleezy like the cartoons.

We told him what we were looking for and he would let us know when one arrived. It is now 2016, we have one of Saskatoon first diesel Cruzes and SMP's 2nd diesel Colorado.

Had a very good experience. Found a car I was interested in. I phoned and asked if the vehicle was still available and set up a test drive. Met with Dan Barrett and test drove the vehicle and then discussed trade in and price etc. I took the evening to think about it. We came to an agreement the next afternoon and I drove away in a new car. I did not feel pressured. This is the second vehicle I ve purchased from SMP. I ve always been pleased with there service department and shuttle service too.

We bought one car but probably talked to 7 people in the process who all had a different title and a different job to do in completing the sale. Never showed any frustrations and were eager to see the outcome after the work that was going to be done to it. Alistair was a great sales rep for me. Recommend anyone to this dealership. booked an appointment for oil change online at 9, after few minutes received a call that spot was taken and moved to 11am, i agreed... on the day of appointment, came in on time, was informed they are behind more than an hour, advised to leave the car, i refused, rebooked appointment, staff apologizes for the instance, i know it's not their fault, but yeah it was the first time to visit the service department, not a good impression for the first one, hopefully they'll be on time on the rebooked appointment, and probably not to take walk ins when they knew it will mess the time for the people with appointments..

Feb 27 : receive a call from Michael (asst service manager), saw my review about what happened on the 24th, and apologizes, and reassures that i'll be a accommodated on time and will save a spot on my appointment that my car can get an oil change as fast as possible.

March 2:

Receive a call again from Michael, and informed me that I still have a bunch of free oil change on my account, and offered me a complimentary free tire rotation service for a year.

March 3:

went to SMP service on time, i noticed 2 personnel kinda waiting for me, went in, and directly approach by Marshall ( Service Advisor), have me seated and apologizes for the Feb 24 instance, and acknowledge giving them a chance to make it up, explained what will be done, staff was accommodating offered coffee and donuts, .. in around 30mins from my appointment i was approach my Marshall that oil and oil filter change is done. Marshall offered me also a complimentary Car Wash and Detailing, which am gonna use it when weather calms down :)

They definitely put up a great teamwork, to solve the customer concerns, to make up on some bad instances, to offer the best services to a customer as they can..

Jay Castro and Steve J helped us out when we were looking at vehicles. We were able to try a variety of Chevy models and finally decided on one. The Costco deal ended up to be pretty good. Jay and Steve let us take our time to decide and there was no pressure. The sales part was great. I just hope the service side of it is great as well. Have had nothing but problems at every other dealership service department in Saskatoon.

You all contributed to making it a great experience buying my new Cruze. I also have to say that I have been back for some minor things and service to car and was again looked after by friendly service.

The shop is not good. Had to show service manager what the issue was, chares 40$ more then 2 specialty auto shops in saskatoon. Their shop rate is an absurd 153$ and hr + tax and parts. They charge 14$ more than weaton gm. Which is litterally another chevy dealer. If you need work done. Go anywhere eles unless you like paying up your nose

Both times, customer service is really good even when you do not have an appointment. Shop service is also very nice - you have a shuttle to and from work everytime your car is ongoing service. Overall, friendly staff and great servicing!

Was ripped off by service department, brought my van in to get some work done.......Inspection and repair my transmission coolant lines from rad.
Well for a 140.00 dollars they missed a bunch of stuff like the rear shocks being done and front struts needing replacement.
Now the best part my key magically deprogrammed while in there care, so Friday afternoon when I went to pick up van it would not start......Weekend no van. So Monday I phone to find out what is going on with my van and I end up having to explain what is going on to four different people......Finally as I am about to be shuffled off to another person I demand to speak to the service manager, yes you would think they would have been proactive with getting my van sorted out but no not a priority. So basically I now have to pay to get a new two keys programmed, still doesn't work with new keys am told it will be 600.00 for anti theft module....This is where I stop them I want my van back I go to pick up my van and the original key majically works again.....
As I am driving van home I notice it's running a bit hot, I check the coolant it's a gallon low.....And my transmission starts slipping the next day.....I check transmission and it's a litre and a half low, let's hope they did not wreck it.....
Thank you Saskatoon Motor Products service for the professional competent service, it's nice to know that customer care is a higher priority that scamming people out of their hard earned money.

Aaron listened closely to my preferences and dislikes in a vehicle and guided me through the car purchase with honesty and integrity.
