I was provided a Car Proof Report that was not current (extensive hail damage overlooked), a "certified extensive inspection report" that indicated no issues with the automatic transmission (the vehicle is manual), oil change with oil not recommended by the manufacturer, a "no hidden fees" that did not mention a $599.00 Documentation Fee, a salesperson who did not even have a basic knowledge of the brand of vehicle I was interested in purchasing and casually dismissed the issue of the vehicle drifting when driven and the substantial paint pitting on the front, rear and sides of the vehicle. Shopping at SMP stresses the importance of "caveat emptor"! P.S. I had to ask about any "hidden fees" before disclosure by the sales manager and salesperson. With regards to the "mistake" made by the technician with respect to the condition of the transmission, the technician checked off in two separate boxes that the manuel transmission (vehicle has a automatic transmission). Lastly, I had to ask why the vehicle was covered with pitting before the salesperson disclosed that it had been damaged by hail.
