Great menu. Best lamb pie I have ever eaten. Terrific desserts. Wonderful service.
Ideal spot for breakfast or lunch in Ballsbridge, offers both take out or sit in options. Really quick service and everything is made fresh in house.
Truly loved the decor and people type and the experience was 5 Star but the service although quick was a 3 we ordered our favourite wine but they forgot and had to be reminded.
Although our food was lovely it was not memorable .
Presentation was 3
Waiting staff junior were polite and efficient with no room to show any little extra gift or flair.
Management were stiff and pressured
I truly felt the mash potatoes were a packet of smash .....
Veg were dull
I will go back to try again because of the ambience
But hope things will have improved.
Very good quality food. The breads they give you at the start are very tasty, the brown soda bread is so moreish. I d highly recommend getting the chocolate sphere for dessert as it literally melts away in front of you as the waiter pores hot chocolate sauce over it. Would 100% recommend if you are looking for reliable food with good service.
I visited three times and enjoyed my meal each time. Situated away from the city centre so the prices are very reasonable and the staff very friendly. For evening meals, there is a different menu upstairs.
Wonderful ambiance beautiful surroundings table settings well thought out. Excellent food and wine. Staff great attitude friendly and knowledgeable about menu and wine. . Potato gnocchi was delicious four of us in the group all had the same all vegetarian could do with more vegetarian options. Dessert very delicious and delightful cheese board. Bathrooms immaculately clean well done Rolys high score on everything
.
Delicious food. Fixed price menu not exactly that. Features steak with a whopping 8 supplement. There are supplements on other items also.
Amazing place,very friendly staff,delicious food.Nighly recomended!!!
This place is a question mark. Sometimes very good, other times very very bad. Inconsitent, sadly.
Lovely food and a very good service! Will be definitely back there soon.
We had a great opinion of Roly's until today.
We were seated and kept us waiting for an extremely long time while several members of the staff passed right beside us without even looking at us, despite being the only ones sitting in an area. My husband even called politely one of the waitresses but was completely ignored. We decided to leave and will not go back. Shame on you for treating any customer as non-existent.
I've visited this place multiple times, and the experience varies, but I'll probably come back anyway. The staff often looks confused when you say that you're there without a reservation, but they usually can find a spot to sit. The menu hasn't changed much, and is better during lunch (especially the sides) than during dinner. If you're in the Sandymount area this is a good place to eat, but there is no reason to travel to get here.
Best restaurant in Ireland!!! I must say they spoiled me during my visit from the U.S. I had a serious urge for fried eggs and they were able to grant me my wish long after breakfast hours. The staff is friendly, kind, caring and people pleasing. A fantabulous stop for any hungry girl or fella.
Lovely comfortable setting . Very friendly staff and food was delicious .
Excellent service
Beautiful food
Friendly staff
Definitely will call back again
We visited Rolys Bistro on Saturday lunchtime to have a celebratory lunch and received excellent service and food throughout. The chef's attention to detail was superb and the waiters were very polite and were extremely prompt in taking away dishes, topping up wine etc. I would highly recommend the bistro and look forward to going back there sometime very soon.
Lamb hotpot can't be bettered. Homemade bread is awesome.
Not impressed. Overpriced 'Irish' dishes. Some pubs serve tastier versions of the same dishes.
We always enjoy the great food and service. I have been there with my wife on several occasions and with my adult children as well always a great variety to suit everybody.
We had a voucher but I forgot to bring it, the manager was so nice he looked it up online and we had a wonderful evening.
Delicious Covid pick up service. Went for the chilled meals and just heated up at home. Brilliant value and delicious. Easy to order online too. Would defo use again
Great service. Fab food.. attentive staff. Great value
Neutral, neither good nor bad, pricey for breahfast.
Great place for quality good value food, good service, good choice, inexpensive, would highly recommend
Staff are soooo rude! Except one tall dark man who makes the coffee. Women in suits at deli counter, so rude and treat the staff terribly. Will never go here again due to the mannerism of this place.
Really good choice of foods available for lunch and extremely helpful staff
Excellent food, excellent service, lovely venue, good value
Great food, small portions and terrible service. Waiters are very polite and nice but they are really slow and always get your order wrong.
Love this restaurant. Great lunch menu - very reasonable!
Ordered 3 course meal this morning at 9
45am to be delivered for 6 o'clock. I have rang four times. No food yet. 19.50 no food as of yet no phone calls from driver or bistro. Fed up!! Never again. I will be informing Opentable.
Received food at 18.55 cold and had to heat it.
Starters: prawn cocktail: lettuce and cold prawns and no sauce.
Mains: fish and chips: cold.
Desert: pavlova and carrot cake: didn't get either
Disaster darling g. Never again
We went for the raving reviews and it was a big let down. Food's not bad, but far from great and it's overpriced for what they serve. I had the "Specialty Beef" an it was just tender, not really great in terms of flavor. My wife had the lamb pie and she tasted a better one in a pub. Service was OK, one waiter was kind of rude but the others were really nice. The wine selection is pretty boring. The place looks dated and it's impossibly loud, you can't hear the person in front of you. I wouldn't recommend it at all.
We had here an early supper as we went to the city centre. Nice spot, well located with different variety/kinds of delicious dishes. They serve it very quickly & staff is very friendly.
The staff are lovely, the restaurant is spotless and relaxing and the food is simply great!
Came here for late breakfast before Leinster match at RDS, the place was fairly packed and we were lucky to get a seat. Both of us ordered the full Irish, delicious (especially the Clonakilty BP) and kept us going until evening dinner!! Service was very friendly and efficient, we'll be back!
My steak was well done not medium and space between the table and wall was pretty tight but overall the food was of a fantastic quality.
I will start with the fact that the food here is amazing. We had the scrambled eggs with poached salmon and it was delicious. They have options for gluten free toast. The coffee here was also amazing- I had fhs mocha which gave me the burst I needed for the day.
Busy place with good food great for coffee and cakes
Very expensive for Service with a scowl and shoddy food.
Been for lunch a few times pre lockdown, foods always good, service is great (not sure what others are talking about). Some might say it's a tad expensive for a sit down or a take out, but I disagree. Go to an outdoor lunch market and its same if not more expensive than Rolys. I'll be back post lockdown I hope!!
Went for a Christmas lunch and three courses took 2.5 hours in an almost half full restaurant. We had to go up and ask after waiting for each course.
We were offered drinks only once in that period. Not a rowdy bunch but this really killed our Christmas party spirit. After dinner we went nearby for one beer and then all home by 8. Very poor service. Not what I remember of Roly's at all.
Sunday lunch, excellent service, brilliant Manager and staff. A refreshing experience. Definite recommend.
Good spot for a morning coffee on the way to work! Food is delicious - one of the nicest Irish breakfasts I had! Their breakfast bap and porridge are unbeatable
Beautiful food, great service and well spaced out tables. All staff wearing face shields. Well done Rolys.
Never disappointed with the food here. It's 1st class.
Haven't actually sat in here for years but still get a decent coffee or sandwich when I'm close.
Amazing from the moment we arrived to leaving. Food and service was exquisite and faultless
Food always fresh and delicious with frequent changing of menus. Staff efficient friendly and professional.Great special offers. Always reliable. Never had a bad meal here.
Food is amazing. We eat here regularly and I have never been able to fault the food. The fillet steak in particular is amazing. Also check online or call for deals as they are available regularly for set menu which makes it all the more appealing !!
Excellent as always. Only negative came from one of my sons who remarked that the decor was dated! Didn't spoil his enjoyment of his food though!
Excellent coffee shop on the ground floor. Good coffee, buns, breakfasts. Upstairs is a more classical restaurant. Pricey, but great portions and classical cuisine.
Had a wonderful family celebration in Roly's. Made to feel very welcome by friendly professional staff.
The food was delicious empty plates all round.
Well worth a visit.
Had breakfast before going to Motorbike show which had very few major dealers exhibiting, that's another story. Breakfast was 6/10. 1 egg,1 sausage, 2 rashers, I piece of white pudding and 1 piece of inedible black plus 2 slices of slice bread toasted plus T or coffee. Oh and 1 hash brown .Very disappointing for 12.70. This is called I think large breakfast, NOT.
After we were seated and given menus and a wine list the waiter called back to take our order, but I was still looking at the wine list the on his return, we ordered 2 glasses of white, a bootle of red and the food. Our starters arrived but none of the wines and we were eating as slowly as possible so we could have the white wine with our starter. The white and red arrived after I asked another waiter. We eat there quite regularly and this seems to be the norm as they appear to have to go down stairs to the bar to order and get the drinks. It is a small thing, but thought you might like to be aware of it. Will definitely be returning as the food is top class.
Very good restaurant as well as take out for lunch or dinner. And their roasted chicken is succulent!!!
