When our booking couldn't be found we were treated most sympathetically until we were seated. It was an extremely busy lunchtime on a Friday and the service was a bit slower than usual. The food and wine were superb and in all it was a very pleasant experience.

Great food at reasonable price. Staffs were super friendly and give good recommendations. It has take out selection and fresh bakeries all day long. Good for grad and go or sit down meal!
The waiting staff were extremely patient with a family member of mine that can be difficult food wise! Appreciated their professionalism and patience in taking our order and organising the food for our table. A pleasant afternoon, and will definitely be back again.
Since the mid 1990's whenever in Dublin we have made it a point to spend out last evening savoring everything about Roly's. We have never left less than completely satisfied with our wonderful meals, service and atmosphere. Everyone goes out of their way to make our visit special. We leave looking forward to our next adventure at Roly's.
I really enjoyed my first visit to Roly's.I was pleasantly surprised by the combination of excellent cuisine and prompt friendly, professional service. It was excellent value for money and I will certainly return.
Good food (quite traditional) - nice menu and choice on offer. Atmosphere and decor were traditional (faded glamour). Service was odd - waiter refused to recommend a dish - he said we had to make our own choice.
Loved the service. Such a nice guy served us. We arrived starving without a booking and he facilitated us. We were fed 2 high class, good sized starters, a yummy desert and had delicious coffees - for under 25 quid. Well done Roly's. Great staff.
Menu hasn't changed, from my experience, in years. So I suppose I am tired of it. But have to say the chicken salad starter was best ever. The area we were seated in was chilly from air conditioner overhead which took from enjoyment of the evening.
One of my mother's favourite spots in Dublin, so I have fond memories of it. Quality of the food is very high and with good vegetarian options. Haven't been for a couple of years, will have to go back soon. Would recommend.
Consistently good food and great customer service. Traditional fare but there's something on the menu to please all tastes. The cafe for lunch is a treat too!
My family and I are regular customers at Rolys, we have always had a fabulous meal with great atmosphere and very attentive and friendly staff. Will definitely return
The best thing about this place is it's location - just next to the US embassy, RDS and Ballsbridge hotel. Food is OK but nothing special, at least not during lunch - mostly sandwiches.
I ve been to Roly s many times, and on balance I ve found it to be great. It really is a south Dublin institution, and is invariably busy on any given lunch time. I ve was there for a lunch a few weeks ago, with a large group. I just was a bit disappointed in a few things. As it was a large group, there was a good cross section of the lunch items ordered. A few of us went for the pork, and we found it to have too much fat on it for our liking. Sure, I guess some people will like that, on balance we didn t. The chicken dish was a substantial better option. The other, bigger thing was, of all things, the size of the vegetable and potatoes side dishes. If my memory serves me correctly, they used to be a of a descent size. This time, they just looked miserable in size. They were just too small to be served to groups of 4. Colleagues ended up asking for more, which didn t seem an issue, but they should be big enough to start with. Otherwise, worth a visit, don t be too hungry
Wish we went here more than for special occasions. Incredible food here. Never had a bad meal, choice of food is great, all tastes rich which I love. Amazing.
We had a great experience at Rolys Bistro. The food was very good, the atmosphere was nice, and the staff were very pleasant and professional. We had fishcakes and prawn bisque for starter both of which I would highly recommend. We both had the lamb pie for main which was cooked beautifully and had delicious flavours. Lastly we had cheesecake and creme brulee for desert. Two magnificent options.
Always have a fantastic experience in Roly's Bistro. Recently brought our sons to Roly's for the first time and they agreed. Food, service, staff, ambience, fantastic.Looking forward to our next visit.
Food and service excellent. The staff were great and made our 90 year old's birthday celebration really memorable - she loved it. Full marks to Roly's.
This is a classy little cafe, with the highlight the bakery items. The coffees are delicious. Kinda bumped into this place on a rainy day and we got to just sit for a while. It's a little noisy, but quaint. I'd love to go back and sample more of the menu.
Had a lovely meal delivered yesterday. Tasty, hot, on time and staff very understanding about a mistake I made when ordering. Fish pie really tasty and prawn dish super. Will be back,
Had an excellent meal here. Went as part of a guided tour and it is within Easy walking distance from the Intercontinental Dublin. The lamb pie is amazing. My wife is gluten free and they easily accommodated her. She had an excellent chicken breast.
We had booked however they didn't seem to have a record of it. Not a problem.as we were shown to a table and all 4 of us had a great meal. Food was excellent as was the service. There was a great buzz about the place as as the restaurant was busy. The lunch menu was great value.
A little bit disappointing. Ordered the so called "mini breakfast" with the egg, bacon, hash brown and sausage. The food tasted fine, but the quantity for what you get and the crazy price of 10 euros is overpriced. For what you pay and for what you get is not worth it honestly. If you don't wanna be scammed, avoid this place.
Came with a voucher and there was a bit of fussing at the start over it. Manager was very nice though. Waiter also almost dropped a wine glass on my partner s head, but was very apologetic and handled it well afterwards. Overall we had a nice time.
Excellent food, lovely atmosphere, very good service. The only sour taste left at the end was the overt double dipping on tip and service charge with the credit card machine programmed to tip when 10% service charge had automatically been added. It does mean I am less likely to return.
Food is good but it is always taking ages to get served. Service depends a lot if you are known or not. Also have a tendency to always give you the more cooked croissant or pain au chocolate. Smile is on option.
Went for a birthday lunch and at the prices charged, you would expect a better experience. We were seated next to a group with a baby and a toddler who were completely disruptive to our enjoyment of the meal. Various members of staff were varying levels of rude expect one. Overall, not worth the money, could have paid less to go somewhere that allows babies to scream the place down. No apology from the staff and not even a thank you, goodbye as we were leaving. The food was tasty but I don't recommend this place at all.
The food here is absolutely amazing, and the staff go above and beyond, even when it is really busy, which it very well can be. You might have to wait a while, or book well in advance on any match days or events in that area as it does draw a crowd. Although it costs more than you're average small cafe, it's not overpriced and the food is definitely worth it. The restaurant upstairs is large enough and you can get really tasty and filling dinners there, the cafe down stairs has a great selection of desserts and sandwiches, and the coffee is brilliant!!! I have to say, I love Roly's.
