Attended for a work event. Can't comment on accommodations, but the activities were great. Horseback riding was well paced and safe with plenty of staff. Good fun for kids and adults alike!

Just got back from second trip to the ranch. Now we have been in the spring and winter.
My family of 4 with a 12 and 6 year old girls LOVED it. We want to see what summer is like there. Activities, staff, food, rooms, horses are the best! A little pricey but love the special deals coming on email we have used! Just wish we could go more often!

For everyone reading the reviews just want to fill you in that all the photos on google that show up while searching this place are photoshopped. I worked for this place and they have hundreds of kids photos and ones they pay for as well that they stick onto fake backgrounds. The listed "culinary" chef is also no different from a line cook at mcdonalds. Save your money and go to Great Wolf Lodge, and if you are looking for work here don't even waste your time because the staff are like machines who never get days off.

Staff was very friendly. Almost everything is included in the price(meals/attractions). A few of the attractions are extra. There is so much to do. The food was good. They have gluten free options.

Wow, what a great place for kids! We went in November (cold but no snow) and there was plenty to entertain. The indoor water park is great, but there are also pony rides, a fun barn, bungee trampolines, a craft room, and more. We lucked out and got to see a few scenes of the nutcracker by a local ballet school. The food is also fairly good for the setting, certainly good enough for the kiddos, and they were fantastic with special dietary needs. The place is well kept, with plenty of staff always working to keep it clean and running smoothly.

First things first. Don't be fooled, this isn't Westworld, I guess I should have done more research.

Very fun place for kids, good food, amazing baked goods. The scones are off the charts.
Alcohol is not included, so this isn't really "all inclusive"

The negative is that It's also very pricey. However I believe the price may be more justified in the summer. If you like riding horses, you need to know that there is no way to set up a private ride. Not sure why this isn't an option.

Overall had a good experience. May try to come back here in the summer if there is some kind of deal.

This place is great for the kids year after year. The staff is great and so are the facilities. Could use a few updates, and they're addressing them.
It would be nice to have some healthier food, and not just "vegetarian options". That being said, the ice cream is amazing.

Staff and activities are fantastic. Rooms are comfortable while a bit rustic but that goes along with being on a ranch. Extremely well organized, we did not have to wait for anything. My only complaint is that the saloon prices are higher than I would expect for an all inclusive resort. I don't mind paying for drinks but not at arena prices.

I was a dinner guest of a family staying here. The food, as usual, is fabulous, as are all the amenities, but this year, for the first time, I wasn't welcome as far as the resort was concerned. My dinner was paid for, but I was told that I must leave immediately after dinner and could not walk the grounds. Hopefully, next Labor Day when I meet the family up here again, everything will be back to normal in the authoritarian nonsense will have ended.

Just came back from this resort and we had an impressive experience here. The entertainment, lodge, food, and service are soooooo good that we can't wait to return for the next trip.

We brought our 26 months daughter to this place and she loved the indoor water park. Well, she did not try the slide due to her age but all the nozzles water are enough to entertain her. She did try pony ride and it was cool.

The food is amazing specially for our asians. The breakfast & luch are buffet style and there are many fresh fruits served. My daught loved ice-cream so much. The dinner is on menu style and we loved it.

They are very nice to customers and always be patient to resolve all problems. I need to warm the bottle milk on daytime and just go to the dinning room for the help. They can do it quickly.

Anyway this is a place where you can relax and entertain yourself. We will try to come back in summer for the next adventure.

Thank you - Rocking Horse Ranch!!!!

This place is amazing! It's not in some super busy town, so the main road we're on isn't jam packed with vehicles, which makes getting here very easy. The landscaping is also incredible! I've been to Walt Disney world and discovery cove and that's literally the only other places I've seen such attention to detail. The staff have been super nice. They bend over backwards for you. And I'm not talking just the ones waiting on you, even the maintenance people are super friendly. They'll tell you where to go, say hi and they include my girls in any conversation. And the stuff to do here. There's an arcade, mini bowling, mini golf, paddle boats, banana boats, bungee trampoline jumping, a rock wall, a fun barn with a jumpy Western theme house, a ball pit with air guns you can shoot the foams balls at targets with. The mountain tubing is awesome. That is alot of fun! They have horse back riding and trail rides. There is just so much stuff to do! Oh and they have a spa, and a sauna and a pool downstairs by the arcade. My girls love it here. Oh and there is an indoor pool. I have three girls. 7, 4, and a little 6 month old. They have daycare to watch my baby if we do something she can't be apart of, which works out because she takes a nap when she goes there. I've only had to use it twice so far, each time for an hour. Other than that she's been with us the whole time. The entire resort is also stroller friendly too! Paved side walks, elevators, and smooth floors. I definitely recommend this to anyone needing a good family vacation.

I came here last week with my family. This is my second time visiting Rocking Horse and everything is just better as last time. The staff always ensures that you feel welcome and try to accommodate you as best as possible. The food is extremely amazing. Night shows in the Silverado Salon are fun and it s a must see. Also, Rocking Horse offers a schedule with different activities through the day so you don t miss the fun. The only bad thing is that it s way too overpriced, something that it should change but nevertheless me and my family would definitely come back sometime in the future.

We had a nice time, the room and all resort was clean, food was good, however there was not enough fresh fruit or vegetables for kids during main courses except breakfast. I also missed extra explanations about snacks or drinks on website prior coming so I brought the things that I didn t need. Only issue that I had was the service on front desks, info about available activities wasn t complete. For example we missed the bawling because it wasn t on the list nor anyone mentioned it. Also another little one, the waiting for little extra tasks takes little longer. I found out great thing but it s not mentioned on the website, the drinks are not included but you can bring your bottle of wine and they will serve it to you with your dinner, again no info on front desks. The activities for the kids and especially horse trips are worth it. The kids had amazing time even though it was cold and rainy, but I d suggest in that kind of weather to adjust opening the indoor activities like art or bowling earlier/morning time. In overall it was a pleasant experience and we ll go back in warmer season. Tubing is fun. special thanks to our waitress Cindy, who offered much more information then we got during check in.

Wow. Just wow. The staff is the best! This is how resorts should be done. Everything is so well thought out for families and for kids. We attended during winter time and the skiing lessons and ski rentals alone are worth the money. The food was great, especially dinner. 45 minutes of horseback riding through trails and an indoor water park that is not too overwhelming. There is constant care and attention by the staff. It seems cleanliness and service is a priority here. The place is not sprawling and I think that is a good thing if you have toddlers. Some people may think the price is too high but imagine how much you would be paying if paying for all the activities and food separately. Plus there is no real need to get into your car once you get here. It's all here.

2 years, that s how long it took my husband to convince me to come to the Rocking Horse Ranch. Now that I am here I can t believe it took me so long to come to this amazing place!!! Where do I begin, let s start with the staff....they are absolutely wonderful from the numerous calls I made prior to our arrival to the moment we checked in. Carrington was the front desk person who checked us in and since it was our first time here we had A LOT of questions. He was extremely patient and answered each and every one. The wait staff is just wonderful Guille, Yadira and Kayleigh were just some of the ones who helped us. Don t even get me started on the food. It s all delicious. To all my Coffee lovers there is coffee, hot chocolate and pastries available all day!!!
What I love most is the pride that the staff takes in making sure all the guests are having a good time and have everything they need. Seriously, the staff here rocks!!! Love the rooms!! Beds and pillows are so comfy I even asked for extra pillows and housekeeping brought them up right away. The resort itself is just so homey. There are so many sitting areas. We have gone several times to the front desk and asked them for board games to play in the main lobby. That is not to say that there isn t plenty of activities going on. On the contrary there is something for everyone. We love the Bingo games, trivia music and movie, and the shows!!! The shows are incredible, every night so far we have seen a different show and each one has been awesome! The pool area is one of the nicest one I ve been to, super clean, the chlorine smell is not overpowering and did I mention clean!! Honestly, I can go on and on about this truly amazing place. We have seriously fallen in love with it. So much so that we have decided to extend our stay. My youngest has brought little drawings down to the front desk staff telling them how amazing this place is every morning since our first night here. Something she has never done on any vacation we ve taken. Honestly, there is just so much more I can say about this wonderful place but it just won t do it justice. You ll just have to come out and experience it for yourself. Trust me you won t regret it. Chances are you ll fall in love with it just like we have and start like us planning your next visit back.

Rocking Horse Ranch is amazing!!! They got everything from an indoor and outdoor pool to fishing, mini golf, an arcade, a petting zoo, waterslides, and you can ride horses. The rooms are beautiful and the service is amaxing. Foods great. Highly recommend going there.

I have not gone here and most likely never will. It caters to wealthier people. The prices are ridiculous and then they practically double it during spring break. I have a time share at Massanutten and even if I go a different week and use RCI I spend a $1000-$1200 total for a week in a 2 BR. This place don t participate with RCI so your average family can t go. Massanutten has the same activities. Indoor/outdoor water park, co carts, golf, mini golf, skiing, snow sledding, night shows, restaurants etc.

I went with my 2 kids couple years ago. We had booked for 1 night but it was so good that extended our stay an extra night. They had so much fun. I'm actually going back with the whole family next week

First time at RHR. Best stay-cation I've been on. Place was clean with a modern rustic feel. Staff was extremely friendly. I was amazed with the over 100 horses on the property and how well kept they all were. The fall decor was beautiful and I can only imagine how pretty this place would be in the winter. The food was great and way too much to eat. I skipped lunch everyday because I was too full from breakfast. Can't wait to return!!!

I helped a frend of mine (Frank Petrilli) install carpet there and since I have been thinking about making reservations there, I checked out everything. I was highly impressed. The place was absolutely gorgeous. I would recommend staying there for a family getaway or a romantic retreat... animals, horse riding, water park, amusement rides, very rustic, out of the way resort. Five stars.

My experience of the second visit is much worse. We got assigned a room in a side building, which requires outdoor walking to the main building where the indoor swimming pool is located. The wireless signal is poor or unavailable there at all. The manager claimed rooms in the side building have cheaper rates. Not sure whether it's true or not, but the booking representative certainly did not exclose that to me. Do make sure asking them which building you will get when you book.

Spent the spring break here with my families. A lot of activities, very good food, and good services.

It's a nice place if you enjoy horse back riding. They also have other activities such as paddle boating, a small archery place, a small bowling area and an indoor pool. Their customer service is top notch. When booking, I think they give you the best deal if you book for 3 days but I think that's overkill for this place....2 days is more than enough.

We spent three days in this resort and I have to say the hospitality and service exceed our expectation. They have many winter activities, you won't get bored. We have a 3year old who tried ski and horse back riding for the first time! Overall this is great place for family vacation. We will definitely come back!

A wonderful staff, fantastic nightly shows, lots of entertainment choices for the kids, and delicious food. These are all great reasons to love Rocking Horse Ranch, but the true wonder of this hidden treasure in Highland, NY is that your stay is all-inclusive. No more wondering where to take the family to dinner, no more debating what might entertain all your kids of different ages - you don't have to get in the car for anything, as all the food and fun is right there at your fingertips. From skiing, to horseback riding, to ice skating, to bowling, to a million-and-one different kinds of games and shows, there's something for everyone. Daddy and Mommy need some cooldown time? Just drop the little ones off at the in-house daycare. Rocking Horse Ranch is a true gem for the whole family to enjoy.

Great place to come a stay if you have a 7yr or older who loves to horse ride. It's all inclusive on the food front so may not be everyone's cup of tea. The food is very good and the selection is also very good for each meal. Breakfast and Lunch are both buffet style and dinner is a menu which you order from. The water park is on the small side but more than enough for the kids to have fun in.

All in all a great spot as the horse riding is all inclusive. Our week was pretty quite so our kids were riding three or four hours a day.

Location a bit out of the way. Had a room for two adults and two kids, was pleased to see two bathrooms, was less pleased to have no actual divider between the spaces. Also, the air conditioner was having trouble keeping up with the humidity. But the activities were all lots of fun. My kids had a blast all day long. And everyone working here has been courteous and helpful. Would definitely come again.

My family has been coming to the Rocking Horse Ranch for years now. And every time we visit, we have always have a great time. It is a family oriented resort with beautiful rooms, delicious food and great entertainment. I highly recommend it for a fun, ranch style vacation experience.

An absolutely INCREDIBLE family resort. The employees are so kind, hospitable, and warm. You feel like you are actually part of their family. Accommodations are great, the food is great(and included!), and activities are steller! The price is well worth it! Please visit:):):):):):):)

Great place for families, even better if you're a horseback riding family. That being said they're on the edge of becoming a charming relic if they don't consider some minor upgrades and offerings to the overall property

My family and I go there every year and don't have any problems at all the people there are nice, polite, and patient. There are games the you can ask the front desk for and they will gladly lend you a game. In the early morning there is a station that has hot cocoa, tea, coffee, etc. The food there is AMAZING and I'm not even exaggerating I usually get full by the time I leave the resteraunt. They always have something for everyone for example there is teen scene where teenagers can go and have a whole lot of fun. There's also a fun barn and hill sledding, as well as horseback riding amongst other things. So basically if your bored your not looking hard enough. Oh and one more thing there is a lot of other things that I forgot to mention and I swear this is not sponsored nor am I getting played to say this it's just an amazing place. Also my family and I always look forward to going there every year and always here it when we have to leave. Overall I would definitely recommend going here it's super fun and you'll have a blast trust me.

We went and took our 3 daughters. They loved it. There was soo much for them to do. Best part is that everything, food and activities (except liquor) is included. Activities include house back and pony riding, skiing, swimming, tubeing down the slope, archery, and nightly entertainment. Great place for the kids and we can't wait to come back in the summer to try new stuff

Highly recommend

Ordered the Stevie Ray's BbQ for Easter dinner. The most negative was ordering. Was put on for quite a bit of time then disconnected. Called back waited again for a much shorter time. Ordered the Smokehouse Feeds 6 $65 , all was delish! My favorites were the Beef brisket, Mac & cheese and corn bread. Picked up and brought out promptly curbside. The best meal I've had this year including my own cooking. To end the meal were chocolate chip cookies which were very good in flavor but soft and I like mine crispy. Overall we would definitely order again. Made this whole Covid-19 on Easter tolerable. So thank you Rocking Horse.
Earned the coveted 5 stars.

Hi,

Hi,

I am disappointed with the accommodations of your facility. As a parent and a customer,I have been trying and wanting to come to Rocky Horse Ranch since I was a child. I moved up here to Orange County wanting to take my son but ur prices are far to high to spend the night and you don't offer day passes. You only offer to Plattekill residents twice a year and that's it. How do you expect to have customers to come to ur place and spend starting at 300.00 for a night (2 adults and 1 child) when we live 5 mins away. I don't see how this is possible. You are making it very difficult for people to come locally. I am insulted by the fact that in order for us to come we need to spend way to much. I don't mind spending money but this is ridiculous. I will definitely spread the word on how this is unfair. Unhappy customer, Dana Piaquadio

It was pretty nice. But definitely overpriced though . You only really need to go there for 2 nights. You can easily get everything done in those 3 days. If your thinking about going, have it a 3 night max. You and your family will have a decent amount of things to do in the time you stay. But there is a lack of entertainment. At nights, there are shows that entertainers put on are below par. Some of it is entertaining, but for the most part, it's really for young kids. But they do give you free popcorn, so that's really nice. But yeah, I would definitely recommend it. Amazing staff, and there's always food for you. But if your interested, definitely check it out!

I am a single parent - went to book this after many recommendations for my daughter and me and am completely outraged that they want to charge me as a single parent for two adults. they tried to tell me that all resorts do that - telling me who has traveled the world alone with my daughter and never ever have been charged for an invisible man. Boycott the place - discriminates against and punishes "unconventional" families

Can't believe I actually created a profile to write a review. But I am very happy and satisfied on my return from the Resort yesterday! We went there to celebrate our anniversary with our almost 4 year old! All 3 of us had a wonderful time from the land and water sports to water park to horse and pony riding to chefs samplers and food and nightly entertainment! All this- just an hour away from north jersey!

I did find it pricey initially, even after the discounts! But considering that you can use amenities from early morning on day you check in to late night on the day you check out, you are basically paying for 2 whole days instead of 1 night!

To add to it, we unknowingly ran into one of the Turks (who owns the place) and he came to know its our anniversary! When we went back to our room, there was a bottle of champagne and chocolates waiting for us!

Well, this will surely become our Mecca for family fun and we will visit it every year (at least)... and of course propagate amongst all our friends!

Rocking Horse Ranch is a family-owned cowboy type rides nestled in the Highland of plattekill... It is a superb resort with horseback riding and many many other attractions within the confines of the ranch. Great place for kids great place for adults nice weekend getaway or a week's worth getaway. It has been owned by the same family for Generations

This was my second trip to Rocking Horse Ranch. It's a little pricy, even in the off-season season. However most of what you pay for is well worth the money. It's not a far ride from the NYC area- about an hour and a half. The location is beautiful, not far from New Paltz. Mountains surround the resort. When you check in, you basically park you car right outside the lobby. Check in was fast, but even if your room is not ready you can hang out in their beautiful lounge area, grab a bit to eat, and play in the arcade downstairs. The resort is specifically designed for the children in the family. The indoor pool accommodates children from toddler age to early teens. There is a specific area of the pool that is strictly for toddlers- with small slides and water fountain tables. There same area has the entrance to an indoor water side that actually extends outside of the building. There is also an outdoor pool and water slides for summer months. There are too many activities to list, no matter what the season. Some of those activities include: dry tubing, skiing, rock climbing, a bungie jumping ride, paddle boats, an indoor kids area with a ball cannon battle field and jumping castle, horse back riding, and various other activities. The food is top-notch. Breakfast and lunch are buffet style, and dinner is menu-style. Although most of everything is all-inclusive, alcohol costs extra- and is quite expensive. The rooms are nicely decorated for a ranch. I would suggest getting a second floor room, since the floors are quite creaky and you can hear the foot steps of the people above you. The staff was over-friendly and they will bend over backwards to meet every accommodation. Overall it is a great family vacation.
