They have water slides horse riding pool mini golfing. They also have Indoor pools/water slides. The rooms are really nice and the Staff is also everything is included EVERYTHING!!! (Even food) It was very nice I loved it here thx Rocking Horse Ranch!!! P.S 1 flaw is the Horses aren't always good for horseback riding.

Honestly, it was a simple, easy vacation that my children (6 & 4) absolutely loved. There were no lines for anything, the staff was friendly and helpful, the food was decent. The rooms were clean and set up well for a family getaway. We will definitely be going back.
Kids enjoyed the indoor water slide and pool! My 10 and 8 year old learned to ski in 20 minutes it was great. Only reason for 4 stars and not 5 is I thought the food could have been a notch better. It was good but I was expecting a little more. I would definitely recommend going.
Beautiful Family Resort. Only all inclusive in NY. Too much fun... Horse riding, inside and outside pool, hottub, kayak, banana boat, basketball court, water slide, mini golf, volleyball, beautiful lake, etc... What else you can ask?
These reviews must be fake. The all inclusive resort doesn't really include much. The lunch is $12 per person and is basic food on par with hospital food. It's bland stale and cheap. There isn't anybpalce to get drinks, water or soda. The horses are in terrible health and weak. Save your money and go elsewhere.
Rooms are great, lots of space, though the beds leave a little to be desired, still sleepable. The activities are as amazing as the food. The staff is great help and will go out of their way for you and are really friendy. 10/10 would ranch again
Loved every aspect of our stay here. Room was clean and comfortable; the kids loved the bunk beds. The staff was fantastic. All of them were friendly and helpful. The food was great and plentiful. And so much to do! It felt like a cruise ship between the plentiful meals and ongoing itinerary of events available. We will definitely be back.
Love it as usual but they need to improve the wifi. Its become a necessity and we cant rely on the wireless networks up here. If they can fix this, i go all five stars. Additionally its nice to see that they don't charge for the mini bowling.
Great experience for a young family. Little things could always be better but the overall experience was great! Staff always try to make your stay as good as possible.
Horrible service! Even since we called asking for information, everyone was in a bad mood. No very nice! There are a bunch of "coordinators" bossing around telling what to do and making your trip miserable. The worse horse ride I have ever had.
Great place for your kids! They are safe, wildly entertained, and well fed. Lots of interesting things for parents to do too ( like sit by the fire with a glass!)! We come here at least once a year, and have been since my kids were small.
I ve been here 4 times in the last 2 years and I absolutely love it here! The staff and wranglers are amazing and very helpful! The horses are great and rides are amazing! I love everything about it the food, activities, the staff, and the horses! I had my 16th birthday here and they made it very special. This is the best vacation place I ve ever gone to.
This was our first time here and this place is fantastic for families. We were there last week with our girls 10 and 7 and they absolutely loved . The staff is wonderful and the facility is very clean. The pool is perfect for kids and there are tons of activities for the entire family. The food is very good with a large selection. The horses are just exquisite and so well cared for. The horse rides are an experience to be had for the entire family. Its a perfect place to make precious family memories . My girls did not want to leave and can't wait to visit again.
i love it the food was great and you pay for nothing after you book i only brought 20 dollars and came back with 18 and i stayed 3 day planning my next trip already.
My family and I had an amazing experience at RHR. There was so much to do like horseback riding, ice skating, skiing, and snow tubing. The indoor pool and huge slide were the perfect break after the outside cold. My kids had the best time ever and it was also a lot if fun for my wife and I. Customer service is A++. It snowed six inches over night and we were quite surprised to find our cars completely cleaned off in the morning. We will 100% be going back.
So much to do. The ski instructors were great and very friendly, all the staff is very friendly and nice. Best soft serve ice cream I've ever had. This was our 5th time here and we'll be back.
Been going there for 5 years the rest of my family has been going there for 20 we meet the same people every year they are all Ranch family very clean and plenty of food and everyone that works there is so nice
First time here and look forward to going back. They have an amazing stable - over 100 horses. Lots of opportunities to ride - they make it super easy with a standby line but make the reservations when you check in. Wranglers are super friendly and really helpful. Lots of things to do, even on a cold weekend - indoor water slide/pool, rock climbing, bungee ride, arcade and other activities.
Same as last year nice horseback ride nice ambience couple small water slides couple of small pools . Good bbq ,good meals & decent sleeping quarters almost double the price $ $from last year No more blueberries they used to have mounds of them for breakfast ? They have the audacity to charge for a bag of sand & pebbles for the children to do the minning game Overall extremely expensive & getting cheep with the customers . On our last day they allow you luncheon But turned us away for the 5:00 dinner? Just kicked to the curb n told us there's a Pizzeria across the street we paid over $1000.00 one thousand dollars! Which was supposed to be all inclusive including activities -they now charge for waterskiing never used to & $10.50 for 2 little sandbags & pebbles . $1000.00 for one night wends-day & weds night thurs after lunch they don't wanna know you
Any place can get a 5 star review when everything goes well, it's when something goes wrong that a company and the staff show their real worth and Rockin Horse is certainly top notch!
I was there with my family over labor day and everything was going well. I was in my room and al of a sudden water started shooting out of an access panel in the wall. The staff there, responded instantly to the plumbing, cleaned the room and then kept giving us little extras for the rest of the stay to make it right. The thing was, none of our stuff got wet and it didnt ruin any of our plans while we were there. They went way above and beyond. They even offered to book us in a nearby hotel [as they didnt have any open rooms] and transport us to and from the ranch.
Beyond what was stated above, the activities were fun, my daughter still talks about her time there, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was great. I will be going back there again and I recommend this place highly.
First of all, I would have given this review less than one star, but that is not possible. Now, for the real review. I don't recommend you to stay at this resort. This resort has mold growing in their walls and all they do is slap down some wallpaper. Also, when you walk into a room, it smells like bleach. This is because they clean everything with bleach and nothing much else. The food here is disgusting and not very fresh. Also if you're thinking of going to the indoor water park, make sure you don't talk to the lifeguards, because they won't talk to you. This is apparently because of safety reasons, since if they are talking to someone a child could be drowning in the background, and they don't want that. I think this is a huge inconvenience though because they aren't even allowed to answer your questions either. If you would like to go to a fun family friendly resort with your kids, I would recommend Great Wolf Lodge or Lego Land, but not Rocking Horse Ranch. Please listen to my advice and don't come here. I'm sincerely saying everything in this review. Thank you for reading.
Stayed for two nights (three days) during February break. While most indoor events are geared for kids under 10, the outdoor stuff (horseback riding, skiing, snow-tubing, hiking) are perfect T for older kids. The rifle range (bb guns) was a big hit with 12 year old. The arcade (video games) require quarters and the pool table and air hockey are $1.50 to play (annoying), but it probably keepS the games from being overrun with the "under 10" crowd. The food is surprisingly good. Pork loin - tender and moist; the lamb chops were splendid. Breakfast and lunch - varied menu, but consistently delicious. The tomato-rice soup was awesome. All in all a great time.
Great resort with plenty to do. My 8 and 6 year old loved it. Food (included) was very top notch especially their breakfast buffet. Front desk was courteous as well as other staffs. Highly recommend. The high price was worth it since everything is included.
We went for my nieces 11th birthday and had a blast! Staff was super friendly and everything was clean and safe! Horseback riding was great, the pool was amazing. Will definitely be back. Only downfall is it's all-inclusive but it doesn't include alcohol so dont forget that part.
Great time, with so much to do. There was so much to do we couldn't do it all in the weekend we stayed. Lots of activities for the kids, not too much for adults though and a bit pricey.
We just spent a very full weekend at Rocking Horse Ranch (RHR) and I wanted to share our experience while everything was still fresh. I was GOING to rate them at "just under 5 star" but amazingly, the only 2 issues we noticed while there have both already been addressed by their truly remarkable staff.
So, I'll start with my negatives from the weekend, so that if anyone reads about them from prior reviewers experiences, you'll have updated info as of our trip (October 2016) Our first personal gripe was that they had a Girl Scout Halloween Dance Party that STARTED at around 11:00 PM. We're not one to deprive our girls of fun, but that is simply too late to START an activity. I happened to be having a conversation with a manager about a POSITIVE thing and mentioned this and they assured me it SHOULD have started at 10:00 aside from a scheduling issue, but also that people overwhelmingly REQUESTED this in the past. So, I'll blame insane parents, not RHR. The other issue was that the WiFi coverage is awful. They seem to have one access point total, so unless you're within 100 feet of the lobby, you get nothing. When I mentioned that to a manager, he said "Yep... we're starting the new WiFi rollout Monday (tomorrow)" It has been a great concern, and over the next 6 months, they hope to cover a much wider swath of the property and increase speeds too.
Now to the positives (everything else) - and I'll keep these brief if I can:
The place itself: Clean (yes, even though it's a horse ranch). Everything was clean and well-kept, including bathrooms, pool, etc. It's not a giant campus (like a Disney property) but it's definitely spread out enough with a TON of activities.
Staff: Flawless. Zero negative experiences and plenty of positives. The staff are all wearers of many hats. For example, DJ Mike is also the roving photographer, one of the scavenger hunt experts and officially "Activities Director" But the cleaning staff talk to you about your stay, everyone is just happy and friendly. And focused on you having a great time..
Rooms: Roomy and clean. Bunk beds were in ours, but the rooms definitely felt roomier than your average resort bedroom. (The TVs were fairly small though)
Food: Simply amazing! It's better QUALITY than just about anywhere we've ever stayed and it is EVERYWHERE. Included with the price of the weekend was all the food you could need. Breakfast, lunch and dinner... and then throughout the day, they set up tables with cookies, muffins, jalapeno poppers, cheese & crackers, fruits & vegs, chips & dip... I had ribs for dinner one night, my wife a steak... all cooked perfectly... all 100% free of cost. GIANT dessert bar... also free. And breakfast is simply incredible. Not your typical hotel fare by any stretch.
Activities: Just check their website for the weekend you are going, but the girls loved everything. Mountain tubing (snow or dry)... a nice size lake with paddle-boating and kayaks... pools with water slides... horseback riding... a ton of indoor stuff too (7 or 8 ping-pong tables, pool, a treadmill style climbing wall that moves as you climb... and almost all of it is 100% free. The only items they CHARGE for really are things like arts & crafts where there is a cost for the byproduct. So, you paint a piece of pottery, you pay for the pottery. But even that is reasonable ($5-9) and even the arcade... a room where most resorts make a fortune on you... all low key and affordable.
Absolutely nothing bad to say!! We had an amazing weekend!!
Had a great time there! Staff were great! Only issue was soiled blanket was stored for whenever knows how long. Location was good to get away. Phone service was good.
Professional, courteous and just plain "nice" staff....very good food.....comfortable, clean accomodations.........plenty to do! Great place for family togetherness!
Staff went above and beyond to accomodate our special needs clients. Very clean, super friendly, beautiful grounds, and the food is excellent. Travelled around to a lot of similar resorts in this area and this place was the best BY FAR.
I was there last September with my sister and I had The Best Time. The staff was great, the food was awesome and I'm going again this September too and I can't wait.
Great for families! The staff was awesome, and the food was really good, too. Definitely a weekend trip, though. It would be hard to stay entertained for a week, I think.
Let me start by saying my family and I have vacationed at numerous places over the years and none compare to this place. From the moment we checked in in which we were running late. As we arrived the staff was kind, welcoming and hospitable. They kept our dinner warm and served us even thou we ran late. The place has everything you can imagine to entertain the kids and adults. There is always something to do and every staff member is helpful and goes above and beyond to make your experience there excellent. I have never in all my years met such a dedicated group of people to the needs of my family and especially our children. The horse back riding, tubing, ice skating and water park were excellent. The late night shows were a added bonus that we did not expect and the laughter on our children's faces made it special. Lastly on our last night there as we were finishing up dinner the owner Mr. Turk came by and introduced him self to us. He wanted to know if we had a good stay and asked if he could "roll out the red carpet to make our stay even better". Mr. Turk, sir your staff and you your self have already gone above and beyond any experience we have had and you have life long guests for sure.
Rocking Horse Ranch is outstanding. We stayed here for the first time a year ago. Our kids are 13 and 9 and were thrilled to be able to come back another year. The staff, accomodations, and food are outstanding. There is a ton of things to do even besides the riding. We are all beginner riders and the riding was fantastic. Very well-organized. The staff is incredibly friendly from the Owner who is on site and attentive to the minutest detail to all of the people that do such diverse jobs at the Ranch. Really, just an amazing place.
Best place ever they have the friendly and kind staff they have the best staff when it comes making feel at home , what me and my family loved is when it comes to breakfast lunch and dinner the staff in the dining hall they are the best and very friendly and they keep the hall clean. The staff at the ROCKING HORSE RANCH KNOW HOW TO MAKE YOU ENJOY YOUR STAY AND KEEPS YOUR FAMILY BUSY AND ENTERTAINED. Love this place and I will keep going.
We didnt stay over night, we went on plattekill day and for what we paid it was well worth it. When i saw what they charged for staying there OMG that was way above my finacial access.
Liars! I called to get a quote, and then i called to book it and she said the offer was expired! this was the manager! they wanted me to pay almost 600 more! ridiculous we are going back to great wolf I'm sure we will have another great vacation there!
RHR was a decent place for younger kids but as far as covid safety I wish I could give it zero stars absolutely no cleaning no social distancing people with no masks and no one enforcing rules or traffic... the pool was crowded The food was ok but our server didn t tell us dinner had a dessert bar and we dined outside. Another server took the heater we were using and dragged it away towards another table so dinner was freezing...their exotic animals looked dirty and the camel looks like it s ready to be put down.he could barely stand on His horribly infected leg.the poor animal could not sit so after quivering in pain trying to get it s back legs down it just tipped over and fell into the fence...it s not worth the price
I went here for my 8th grade trip in 2009. It was very fun and don't have to go to Colorado or western PA. They have an arcade which was ok. The pool and horseback rides were fun. The slide was small like a playground slide. The banquet at the end was delicious. Although I live 60-70 miles away, I would return. Highly reccomended.
Great time with family. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was better than expected. Patient instructors taught my 4 year old and 8 year old how to ski. My husband and I were shocked. Plenty of things to do. Only downside was temperature of pool could have been warmer. Will return.
Fantastic experience! The facility is beautifully maintained, the kids are kept entertained with a variety of activities while adults can relax, or participate. We loved it.....we will return for sure!
I/we absolutely loved Rocking Horse Ranch. We, unfortunately, only stayed for one night. Next trip it will be longer. Where to start....The owners and the staff. I can't tell you how nice it was to see a place where the staff were all smiling, everyone you met said hello or good morning, asked if they could get you anything, asked how you were enjoying your stay and the list goes on. The owners Steve and Shelly are the most down to earth people you will ever meet. They are caring, they care about their staff, their guests and their animals.
The food was outstanding, there again the staff is top notch. If you go away hungry that is your fault. The rooms were comfortable, clean and nicely set up. Our room had two queen beds and a set of bunk beds. Everything was rustic decorated, which I loved.
Activities: It is not just horse back riding. There are multiple pools, a water park and slides, mountain tubing, bungee jumping rock climbing, arts and crafts, tennis and basket ball courts, beach volleyball, miniature golf, paddle boats, kayaking, shuttle boards, ping pong, pool tables, air hockey, a riffle range and archery, an arcade, entertainment nightly in the Saloon, you can mine for gems, see a camel, donkey and zebra. There is even an inflatable area with slides and such for the younger kids. They have an activity list of things to do every day, such as bingo and such. I am sure I have forgotten some things like the bonfires.
There is no way you can be bored while you are here. We can't wait to go back, will be bringing some friends with us.
I can't say enough about the owners and the staff.
Thank you for the best get a way I have had in a long time. Jackie Madison and family
2 words... LOVE IT! Owner Steve awesome! Waitress Cindy awesome... with a priceless laugh! Concierge Jeff amazing! I can't imagine not making Rocking Horse Ranch and Resort a yearly vacation getaway.
Always a treat. Food is always good. Always leave feeling you did everything you could fit in, but still didn't do everything that was available. You can also have a nice conversation with whoever is on duty in the barn, and check in on any horses that are receiving medical attention.
Absolutely wonderful family vacation!! From the horses, to the pool and water play, mountain tubing, food, entertainment, everything was fantastic. Everyone went out of their way for us, especially Debbie, who had a cake picked up and delivered for a birthday dinner. Highly, highly recommend!!
we rented two rooms adjoining total 5 night 4 adults a five children under 11 years of age with total Aprox $9500. paid for the stay of 5nights. Th e rooms were adequate but far from plush at all. We woke up first morning with cold noses as heater was broken so no heat in room 204; not good for Fla. folks!! Stopped at front desk to report situation and repair man showed up within 30 min.to check out heating situation. He had no tools so referred to second repairman and he showed uo 45 min. later with a few tools:said" Chinese" heaters not like US and had a lot of issues with these heaters short life span. Assistant manager Scott came 30min later and agreed heater not working needed to replace. So 45 min. later a new one arrived and old one taken away. finally some heat after about 3 hours and a lot of waiting around; missed out on activities which would have been more fun? After asking desk all day for another room or adjustment on bill and this was the cheapest night; price change every day the week depending on demand. Some nights we paid $899.00 this night was $724.00 including tax plus property usage fee of $101.85. So after many request they refunded me half day $289.50 plus some tax. Most to notch hotels would credit at least the one bad night with a CREDIT for that nights inconvenience. I did speak to Mike Tuck owner but never did see the second half of the that bad night show up as a credit??? And even sent him an Email explaining the situation with pictures of all the workers replacing poor heater in room #204??? Still waiting ON THAT REFUND CREDIT: COLD FROM FLA!!!
Amazing experience for the whole family. The activities, food, entertainment, and staff were all exceptional. The days were action packed and everyone had a great time.
Great place, nice activities, food is good, my teen & tween loved it. The grounds are very well kept and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. Great getaway for a few days.
It room was clean and functional, it had two beds and a bunk bed, a full bathroom and a mini fridge. Service was excellent, I had no complaints about service during our three day stay. Food was good, they did an excellent job catering to the needs of our two young children.
We have been to the Rocking Horse Ranch several times with our now 10-year-old. We always have a great time. The food ,the activities , the entertainment and the attention to personal touches have always been top-notch. We recently returned from a long weekend there. Even in these challenging times the Rocking Horse is first-rate. You ll find hand sanitizing stations everywhere. There s plenty of space to feel safe and social distance while enjoying all there is to offer. We live in the big city and there s no better quick escape for us. Our daughter loves it. We will return again in the near future. I highly recommend the Rockinghorse for a wonderful family vacation.
Awesome place, great for kids and adults, awesome service.staff, and food.In all I am very satisfied and I have been here 4 times and they have never failed to show their professionalism/kindness to guests.
This is our 5th time going. What a great place. It's clean, has very friendly employees that are always willing to help you. The food is very good. You could eat until you pop. The kids really enjoyed the activities. There is something for everyone. I have different aged children, and my oldest daughter loves to ride horses. She rides all day while my other kids play in the pool and do other fun activities. The wranglers on the trails are super nice and experienced, and the employees over the years have been the same faces and are still very nice. I think it's worth the money. That being said I would not go when it's a busy time of the year. We have always went when it was slower or off season. It has always been nice that it was not crowded. We would go back in a heart beat.
