This place is great. My 3 year old had a lot of fun. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The food was good. It s great that they have all sorts of activities to entertain everyone. The only downside, the mattress was terrible. But the activities and friendliness of all the staff + my daughter being so happy in there makes me not mind the bad mattress anymore. Will surely be coming back!

Great place for children. My kid had a good time. I don't see this place to be something you could stay longer than maybe a couple of nights. It does get boring after you did the few things that they have.

So much fun! From the water park, to paddle boats, kayaking, horseback riding, comedy show, wagon rides, s mores, kickball, magic carpet ride, there is so much to do! The staff were friendly and helpful, they immediately made us feel at home. Our room was huge, with two double beds and two bunk beds. The food was delicious, with many options to choose from. We can t wait to go back again!

A nice getaway trip. If you want to get away from the city and relax, I recommend coming here. RHR offers a variety of activities such as horseback riding and wall climbing as well as indoor activities such as bowling and shows performed by magicians and comedians. The rooms are nice and give a nature feel, and the food is fresh.

Extremely well managed property. The staff is well trained in keeping the facilities clean and the grounds maintained. The food is surprisingly good for a family, all you can eat resort - fresh, high quality ingredients, and tasty! They are conscientious of waste also - managing portion control subtly but effectively. There are a range of activities for people of all ages. The staff is friendly, courteous, and professional. It is refreshing to see hospitality truly done right.

With a wide array of activities from a mini ski/snow tube slope to indoor water slides to rock climbing, something fun for everyone. Oh yeah, and horseback riding - it's a ranch, after all. Staff is extremely friendly. The western ranch theme is kitschy, but who cares if everyone's having a good time? Breakfast + lunch meal quality (buffet) is so-so, but sit-down dinners are surprisingly good. Just be ready to wait up to 10 mins to be seated, despite your reservation times.

We have been going to RHR for years and were very excited to get away finally, sadly I was a bit disappointed. Some of the staff was happy to be there and very helpful others did not want to be bothered and were blatantly rude. Also I fell and sprained my ankle some of the new paths are not evenly paved. Food was ok but I remember the lunches being better. Also no variation at breakfast. Room cleaning was spotty. They really did not enforce social distancing particularly at the pool and banana boat. The slides were a free for all of kids cutting each other off and the lifeguard didn t say anything. Magic show was good but also the entertainment used to be much better... for the money I was disappointed and after all these years not sure I would go back.

various activities for kids(more than you can imagine. I couldn't do half of them in 2days), great location, fabulous services(I had to smile all day long lol), nice food(especially fruits and veggies!! so good!) I would definitely recommend to everyone who has little kids(under 9yrs), who's suffering from all day care give, who's boys/girls interested in sports activities ( horse riding, skiing, skating, swimming, gaming, ping-pong, magic show..omg can not write all) and who is sick to cooking all day( ME) GO AND HAVE FUN :)

3rd time here and they keep improving. The small details that RHR refuses to overlook clearly makes this place worth the $$$. Spotless. Solid food. BYO Wine. Skiing, tubing, horses! Decent shows(great for kids). We will come back as look as our kids love it this much.

I've been looking to come here for a couple of years and the prices were ridiculously high. We however found a couple days that were reasonably priced. We did have a good time with our family of four.

We stayed in the main lodge and had 2 queen beds and a set of bunk beds. The kids slept on the bunk beds and we had the other 2 beds 2 ourselves. The room was spacious and nice.

However I thought the fact that some things were only open for a couple hours here and there was a little frustrating. Ex. Tubing 1 to 4pm. That was it for the day. 3 hrs during the hottest part of the day. Other activities were similar to that also. Some where open 10 to 12:30 and then reopened 3 to 6. It was a little strange figuring out what to do when.

The food was a little lower standard than I thought it was going to be. Breakfast was good but the rest was just ok.

The indoor water park was quite small. The outdoor pool was very nice and heated.

The staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. They also had water coolers all over for you to drink so you didn't get dehydrated.

They also have a kids center which we realized on our last day. You can drop your kids off while you and your spouse go horseback riding or enjoy some cocktails and they take your kids all around the ranch to do activities.

Overall for the price we paid it was a good time. Definitely for younger kids. If we had to pay 300 to 500 more a night I don't think I would go. If you find a deal I definitely suggest trying this place out.

Also a lot of the other guests have been here multiple times and suggested coming during the winter also. So we might try it out too. We will let you know.

We loved it. I went with my wife, 8 year old daughter, and 1 year old twins. The entire staff, without exception, is professional, friendly, and accommodating. I was once standing over by the tubing hill holding a baby and two guys just brought a bench over in case I wanted to sit. One of those guys was the owner.

The wranglers are all very knowledgeable, great with kids and adults, just no complaints at all. There are 130 or so horses, but you can generally stick with your horse, unless you are going out to ride every hour - then he needs a break - obviously.

Easily a top 3 vacation I've ever had. Can't wait to back.

Taking nothing away from the above, I thought there was one area in which they could improve: the photos. There are people taking photos of every rider on your way back from the trail. You could then buy those photos in the gift shop. But you can only buy hard copies, and if you don't buy them while you are at the ranch, you are out of luck. It would be more convenient if they could email you lo-res, watermarked versions of your pics, which you could then buy in soft copy. Other than that, literally no complains. I'm leaving out a ton of good stuff by the way, there is just too much to write about all of it.

I was here 2 yrs ago for Christmas and god I miss it. I'm at great wolf lodge for my birthday and that's a big mistake. I definitely should've went here for my 15 birthday. The workers are extremely friendly and the food is amazing. I just love this place so much. It's a 10 out of 10. I 100% recommend this place to anyone of all ages.

Rocking Horse Ranch is fantastic! Rooms are clean and nicely decorated in theme. Meals are like going to a nice restaurant. Any issues are quickly addressed. Plenty of activities even for those that don't horseback ride. Just a great all around vacation.

My family and I love this resort. We've been going here for over 20 years and things just keep changing for the better. The most important thing to me, is that the horses are well taken care of and have plenty of acreage to just be horses at the end of their "work" day.
We have met some wonderful people and many of us continue to meet up every year, for the same long weekend.

I was expecting a lot from this resort, due to all the great reviews. Arrival was great, people were friendly and we arrived doing the Chefs tasting session, it was an added bonus, good food at the middle of the afternoon. But signs were also apparent for some disappointment. The chefs tasting table had lots of flies all over the food, especially the cheeses. The flies on food were a repeating thing throughout our 3 day stay, I guess I should expect this at a horse ranch, but not indoors in a resort.

When we entered our room, there was in wall AC unit plus a floor standing dehumidifier running at the same time, this was very noisy, which made for difficult sleeping. When I turned off the Dehumidifier it became uncomfortable, not sure why since the weather outside was not humid. There was no desk, table or chairs in our room either.

We were told to not miss the included meals as they would be great...I was not impressed, it was like eating dinner at a catered wedding hall. But the service was poor for us, our drinks were not taken and our entrees came out before our apps, salads, and soups...the breakfast was even worse.

There are plenty for kids to do here, horse riding for kids are top notch and kayaking was fun. The foam ball room also very fun. The pellet gun and archery range was monitored by staff not familiar with the equipment.

Cost was high for what was offered.

I use to go up there at least 3 weekends a month from 1960-1962 when I lived and worked in NYC.
We had a great time then. Much nicer now. Would love to come back the next time I am in the New York area!

Rocking Horse Ranch is where I can relax, also have plenty of fun. They literally treat you like family. I'm very over protective with my children, but at the RHR I know they're safe that I don't worry when they stroll around. Cleanliness is a priority here which is why I feel even more comfortable coming here even with a pandemic. Its a great family experience. TRUST ME.

My large family was VERY pleased with all of the activities available for them. If u plan the day with the activities your day works out for a great family retreat. The staff were always around to help make everything happen and me feel comfortable. The meals took care of all of my kids and the dinners where top notch. I will be back for more fun and food and will recommend this everyone that will listen.

Been back 4 years in a row. We absolutely love it. It's a tradition that we go the same week very year. This year was different. My youngest son was injured playing in the pool. This happens with kids all the time. Wasn't RHRs fault at all. We're used to the boys getting hurt. They're boys! But it was the way the staff handled it that really went above and beyond and helped solidify why we love it there. Tim especially stepped up and made sure that our son was taken care of. We were given directions to the closest ER, our other sons were immediately put into the day camp, and 2 hours later we were back and relaxed. If you are a family with kids, this is the place for you. The pool is awesome, the vibe is great, the shows are fun, and the staff is terrific. Anyone who reviews that the staff is underwhelming is reviewing the wrong place. Every single person you speak to is accommodating and the whole experience is terrific. FYI - Nobody goes to a family resort expecting 5 star French cuisine. It's good old "stick to your ribs" food. Some is awesome, some is average. But who the heck is expecting perfection at a buffet? Get over yourself. It's as close as you're going to get. The ice cream bar is terrific and the food is really pretty darn good.

Just chill out and enjoy it for what it is. Let your kids have fun and you can have a few drinks while you're there! Remember, this is a family place. If you're on a couple's retreat, you won't get it unless you're really into horseback riding.

Absolutely amazing vacation! Lots to do! Great food. Fabulous service.
We took away so many great memories from our stay at Rocking Horse Ranch!
My kids learned to ski, we rode a horse for the first time, and so much more! I highly recommend!

Wow I cant believe all the poor reviews, this place was wonderful! We cant wait to come back for another staycation! Everyone here is so accommodating and genuinely seem to enjoy their job! The food is excellent! They have everything from hamburgers and hotdogs, to fine dining! All of the wait staff were so pleasant and friendly!!! Three meals a day all inclusive- it doesn't get better than that. There was so much to do here, from the magic shows, to horsebackriding, there is something for everyone! My only complaint is the prices- they are very expensive!

Totally worth it. Hey it's for the kiddies.

Totally worth it. Hey it's for the kiddies.
All inclusive hassle free time. First time here and we will be back. Most of the staff was "on-it". Front desk was a lil "off" except for a few persons. We needed to grab some items since we weren't prepared for the slopes and no one knew where I could purchase some cold gear. We must be the first unprepared travelers "ever"? Thanks to gmaps we found a few.

Like I said it's for the kiddies. My 2-1/2 yr old went fun-ballistic. He was washed out from the activities everyday. Thanks goodness. The facilities were kid sized and kid friendly. We did some unsuccessful playtime but we were watching.

Food was awesome. Especially dinner. And with the all inclusive you can eat all you wanted. Burp!

If you have to have a few, BYOB. We did and it perfect. They provided ice&glasses.

We will be back.

I have stayed one night with my family so far and we are all having a blast. My husband is enjoying the horseback riding, my daughter is loving the indoor pool, and I'm looking forward to going night time snow tubing later. There is just so much to do here and it's all inclusive. The food is great too

This is a great place for vacation! The esthetic is really cozy and nice. The horse back riding is really fun and easy. I recommend bundling up in the winter since it gets very cold though. The food is good and at dinner time they have a chocolate fondue fountain which tastes delicious! The only downside for me is they didn t have yellow mustard, but that wasn t a big problem. The rooms are nice and the beds are pretty comfy. Hands down the best part of this place is the staff. They are very friendly and helpful. When I went skiing for the first time an extremely helpful and nice worker (Ivy) helped me and my friends. On our first night staying we got the waitress Laurie (I think that was the name) who was very nice and helpful as well. There was some staff that when talking to their friends cussed, but overall staff is amazing. The indoor water park was fun. The water slide the fast enough to have fun but safe enough for smaller kids to go down. Another good staff member was the lifeguard named Tyler (Once again I think that s the name but I m not sure). He was really friendly and nice to the kids and adults. I would definitely come here again!

Fourth year in a row here. The place never gets old. It all starts when you arrive and Jeff is willing to help you unload your luggage. We stayed in the main hotel which as wifi, albeit slow wifi. We have also stayed in the rooms outside of the main hotel. Everyone is so accommodating and willing to help out. Even if you don't like horses there are so many activities, contests, etc to keep you busy.

I was so unsure of what to expect with the costly 1 night stay we booked over New year's Eve. Man was I happy we decided to go here!! It's such a well run place, from the person greeting you when u pull in the ranch, to the check in, facility, activities...it's all clear that they "get it" and know what it takes to make your stay enjoyable.

- Food: all included...plenty of options, and surprisingly way better than I expected. Breakfast and lunch were buffet style and good overall. Dinner was , well.... excellent!! Great choices, cooked well, servers did a great job there. They even had a free house wine they poured us a few glasses of. They went to make sure u have a good time and thankfully a rent looking to extract every extra dollar from u once u are there which is nice.
- Activities: a great selection and tons of fun! We did skiing...kids 1st time and they are all super helpful and patient. And they will help us as much or as little as u want. If are an expert skiier it won't get your blood pumping but for a novice it's plenty. Snow tubing is a good size and right amount of thrills. Kids did it over and over and over! They also tried ice skating, then we did the indoor pool and water slide. It's small in the pool but plenty to keep them excited and having a blast! There's a cool fun barn and arcade too. Plus...the horses!! A ton of them for trail rides and pony rides. So cool.
Service: these people work their butts off. I saw people doing ski instruction then cleaning garbage, and managers helping in every single venue. We had a guy come check on us after skiing in the restaurant only to find out he's the owner of the place. He sets the tone by being attentive, pleasant, and caring about your stay... genuinely. Everyone else follows suit and it shows.
- Rooms: while not luxury accommodations, they were clean and the kids loved the bunk beds. Honestly it's all u need when there's so much to do outside the room.

The best part about this place....it never feels crowded. Seriously. We were there on a fully booked holiday night and not a single thing was a wait or crowd or unpleasant. It was quite remarkable.

And as I said, their goal is not to get u there and then rope u into dropping a ton more $. Everything minus booze is included. And frankly while it's not actually allowed to bring your own alcohol, they really don't crack down on u too hard either. I had a beer can I brought and the waiter just asked me where it was from as he hadn't seen that brewery before.

All in all I couldn't recommend it more. The owner is a hospitality veteran and a bit of a visionary if u read up on him. It's clear he does it right here. It's unique and different from your cookie cutter indoor water park place. And while the water park part doesn't match up with the others, there so much else to do and service and facilities a re so head and shoulders above the other places it won't matter a bit!!!

Our non profit organization recently had our first annual conference at The Rocking Horse Ranch. We had a group of children and adults with disabilities, as well as their families for a weekend. The staff was incredible, and all of the attendees were so impressed. Jessica C. helped me with the conference planning every step of the way, and was very accommodating. The facilities were clean, they had great activities for the whole family, and the food was excellent. We can't wait to come back. Thank you Rocking Horse Ranch!

We went on a spur of the moment trip and had the BEST time!! It is an amazing place the bring the family. An all inclusive resort that has something for everyone. We went with an 8, 3, and 1 year old and everyone had so much fun. Food was good and accommodations were very clean. During this pandemic, the resort took many measures to sanitize and keep everything as clean as possible. I was very comfortable with their level of precautions that were taken while we were there. Make sure the day of your trip you arrive early because you have full use of the resort before you can actually check in which is at 4:30. As for checking out you can spend the whole day after the checkout time without being forced to leave. This is an amazing place. That all being said it can be expensive but given all you can do and the time you are allowed to stay it can be totally worth it. Enjoy!

Horrible customer service. Made me wait for several minutes, called a few times and every time quoted different ridiculous rates. Manager Mallisa wont acknowledge my concerns. They jacked up the 2 night stay from $1000 to $1799. This resort does not allow online reservation to over charge. Do not bother with this place.

Overall the hotel is great. Once you pay uou dont need to worry about money. The room... noooo insulation in between rooms. The conversations, cries, thumps, tv, etc can be clearly heard. My family had a great time here! My daughters (ages 6, 6, and 11) have asked to come back already and we haven't left yet! Their favorite activities were horseback (and pony) riding, mountain tubing, and the indoor water slide. All the night time entertainers were so much fun for the whole family. For a first time visit, you should be prepared to pick a horseback riding time and a dinner reservation as soon as you arrive so you have the time you would like.
