This place is brutal! I ordered a particular part based on style and price. They sent what they wanted. I sent pictures showing exactly what I ordered and needed. They re sent the wrong part. Then ignored all my emails while trying to send back the wrong part and get the right one! No customer service, nobody to talk to... impossible to deal with when as issue arises!
Horrible. They wouldn t let me do a return that is in perfect condition and never opened. I was laid off from work and unable to afford mailing back four struts until now. They refused to issue me any type of refund...now I am stuck with four struts that I don t need. I would not do busy with them if I was you.
I've had only good experiences with Rock Auto. I've been a mechanic for too long. I've watched the retail auto parts industry go from small privately owned shops to the new national auto parts chain stores (which remind me of the national chain drug stores.). It seems the majority of the counter persons I've dealt with in the chain stores are totally inexperienced. The chain stores also have a limited product line. With Rock Auto you don't have to try to explain what the part you're looking for looks like or where it goes on the vehicle and you generally have the choice of multiple brands with most parts. Yep, its just easy, no muss no fuss you get what you ordered at a great price backed up with great customer service. With Rock Auto the future is now!
Please never change RockAuto! You are truly a god-send to the diy community. Been using your site since I was 17 years old. Now I am 26 and still get blown away by the price difference between you and the "big box" chain parts stores.
Beware! This place completely misleads its customers as far as returns! I placed an order and it was shipped within 1 hr or so they say. I needed to cancel the entire order and was told via email, because the don't have a live customer service department, that I would have to refuse the order and I'd receive a full refund minus shipping... Great! I was refunded 7.00 and my purchase was 39.10! That's one hell of a day to make money! Having said that, Rock Auto has lost a good customer! I've referred many, many friends to this company, believe me I intend on letting them all know if my very negative experience! Absolutely the WORST customer service ever! Update: I've sent 7 emails to date requesting to speak via telephone to any member of management to no avail! That's gotta tell you something!!! Can you say scammers??? I knew you could!!!
Couldn't find a simple water inlet tube for a 2002 dodge ram 1500. Checked autozone, o'Reillys, summit racing, napa, junkyard, etc. Google search came up rock auto with exactly what I needed. Gonna check rock auto first after that hunt. Even Amazon had no clue.
Received my ac compressor earlier than expected given the current covid crisis! Installed and worked perfectly! Definitely recommend this site for all your auto parts needs!
Worst customer service in the industry. Save your time and money as ROCK AUTO does not care or respond to shipping issues, NEVER received part and was told to wait. After weeks of delay. I'll spend the extra 5 bucks to save days on the projects. Not first time, and I can say that I place hundreds of orders annually in the auto parts industry. I have received parts from Asia faster than Rock auto.
NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. Went on twice to notify that i need to exchange defective part. On line it did not give me option to exchange. Only return. Also box kept saying no return for this part. I tried calling four times and no one answers the phone. ( they did send me email right back with instruction once i lft message). Advise what a hassle for a 5$ part. I WILL NEVER BUY FROM THIS PLACE AGAIN UNLESS THEY CAN HAVE VERBAL CUSTOMER SVC.
Customer service has backslid considerably. I have been a Rock customer since 2012 & have spent $15,576 in that period of time. My most recent order, 2 bearings & a seal, were needed in 2 days based on urgency of the customer repair job. They were shipped out in 2 packages; with only one arriving on time. The other package (5 days late) somehow got mis-routed and is now in China. I attempted to contact Rock; they no longer accept phone calls & require email correspondence. No offer to ship replacement bearings, no offer to refund expedited shipping, only the direction to, "be patient and allow the carrier time". Unbelievable. I will no longer do any business with Rock; Amazon it is, at least they stand behind the shipping carrier mistakes.
I have no complaints at all. My part was at my home on time, which is what makes rock auto a great place to purchase all your vehicle needs. I have done a lot of purchasing with this company and I will continue as long as I have a vehicle.

Ordering and prices were good. The issue is I bought a battery with a 30 month full replacement garuntee. I used RockAuto to save less than $10.00....
So not even 15 months later the battery was bad. I tried to use the RockAuto website for customer service as they have no phone number for customer service. The website told me it was not returnable and put the problem right in my lap.
Now after spending a lot of time I am working with the manufacturer. What a joke.....I will never buy from RockAuto again.
I have found it to be an easier experience ordering parts through RockAuto. A very intuitive website makes it so easy to find the correct part, the first time, as opposed to a local chain auto parts store. The only return that I had done, because I did not need the part, went smoothly, quickly, and hassle free. Highly recommended and will be using them again.
Rockauto listed the wrong part windshield wipers for my car, I bought the wipers and they do not fit. When contacted, Rockauto told me I should have looked at the pictures before purchasing and not rely on its parts inventory selection. Refused to take the item back unless I paid for postage. After that contact, Rockauto refused to continue speaking with me and just ignored my follow up email. This is the kind of customer service that you can expect.
Update: Rockauto has reached out to me after I posted a complaint on their Facebook. They have refunded me in full. I am satisfied with their resolution.
I absolutely love RockAuto. I have never ordered the incorrect part and I always receive exactly what I order every time. The website is outrageously easy to navigate and quick. The searching tools are one of the best features about the site, they make it real easy to find what you are looking for if you are unsure of what category your desired part falls under. I would definitely recommend this site to anyone and everyone.
I bought electric water pump, was good for 10months than failed. Ask for warranty. rock auto ask me to buy the new before they warranty me. Did that install part fill coolant and part failed straight. I ask for warranty again some answer buy new than warranty old(new). After all this situation buying returning I lost $200 plus labour and no one wants to compensate failure. No trust I will buy somewhere else, they take care value customers better.
Purchase apart for my car great price great shipping. However they sent me the wrong part they sent me a manual part instead of an automatic part period and refused to refund me or send me a replacement. They have no customer service because it is all 100% online. I recommend if you want to use this company make sure 100% that you double check everything that you purchase with a local auto place to make sure that it is in fact the correct part.

I bought a master cylinder rebuild kit for my International truck - hardly a common part, and it was less than $20 shipped. I picked the cheapest shipping option, which was USPS 1st Class Mail at a total of $3.05. They offered more expensive 2nd day or overnight rates, up to $40 to ship, but I'm not in any kind of hurry...
So, I placed my order on Friday, and here it is Monday and my rebuild kit just showed up! Admittedly, Rock Auto is one state away from me (they are in Wisconsin, I'm in Minnesota), but still - how many places would my order still be sitting in their "shipping department," waiting for someone to slap a label on it and drop it in the mail? Amazing shipping and a great value. How can you go wrong?
Needed a fuel pump for my 79 FJ40. Placed order at 11:40 yesterday and it was sitting on my front porch today at 12:00! That is BC Powder fast! The price was much less than other sellers.
I have been using RockAuto for a long time and never had anything but good things to say about them. However I recently bought two calipers with a $33 core deposit on each one. RockAuto requires you to pay for shipping to return the core and the shipping price is $75.... You do the math.... Seems a little unfair to me! I paid to have my parts shipped to me then I have to pay to return them and it cost more to return them then I'll get back and core deposit! I will not make that mistake again.
I have used rock auto for years never any issues up until now I have been restoring a mustang and with as old as it is parts are hard to find my most recent order was last Friday I ordered the Inlet and Outlet hose for the heater core I received a confirmation number and usually get a email confirming my order this time I did not Iv emailed their customer service over and over again about this matter due to the fact they don't have an actual person you can speak with and I have got no replay the money has already been deducted out of my account and I still have no answer on where my parts are I call their headquarters and they pretty much told me they can't help me so that's my experience once this matter gets resolved either getting my parts or the money back I don't think I'll be bringing my business to them or the business of my Frinds anymore as now I see how this company likes to treat people
I have a small auto repair business I used to get all my parts from autozone. if a customer can wait I will order from rock auto. autozone has gone crazy with their prices. their stock proves it. a few years ago it was 50 dollars a share. its now 800. I get the same part same mfg. for 80 to 100 percent cheaper from rock auto.
Ordered an outside mirror for an 06 Jeep Grand Cherokee on Thursday and it was delivered the following Sunday. Whoever heard of home delivery on Sunday? The part was not an off-brand, it was a Dorman, the same as O'Reilly's carry. The good news, it was $20 less from RockAuto.
I ordered a new heater core for my 1967 Camaro. When I opened the heater box, it was full of mouse. I cleaned and repaired the heater box and went to install the heater core and it didn't fit.
I went to return and or replace the heater core and too much time had passed. I tried to contact customer service to let them know the fitment for the part was off, but they don't have customer service.
I tried to do a warranty replacement, but answered the questions truthfully and they will not allow me to do a warranty replacement. I now have to throw a brand new heater core in the trash and go someplace else that will help me find the right heater core for my car. Such a waste.
I hope somebody reads this before purchasing a new heater core from Rockauto.

Have been a customer in the past, but now they can t ship to my address. Guess it s a TAX issue? When I went to place order, it says can t ship due to local tax code! More government interference, State of Colorado was a great place, but now our liberal tax hungry politicians are finding new ways to get more state revenues. I ll be happy to get the hell out of Colorado, it has become the new California east, Not Rock Autos doing, but it sure will hurt their business in Colorado.
Be very careful my order has shipped to the other side of the country when it was in my state and nobody to talk to on the phone and just says wait need time for delivery and no place to even leave an email for anybody to explain to me what is going on. Wouldn't recommend due to lack of customer service if there is a problem with your order you can't get any information from them.

Ordered an AC compressor last summer for my truck, since I live in AZ and AC is a necessity. The compressor I ordered conveniently went out shortly after the one year warranty was up. I would have made a review on the part to warn other shoppers of this part, but the rockauto site does not allow part reviews, so I have to rate the company with this poor review.

Ordered pads and rotors on Wednesday, received the pads Thursday morning and the rotors on Saturday morning (even though the estimated delivery day was Tuesday for the rotors). On top of getting the parts fast I saved almost $60 using Rockauto as opposed to Autozone or advanced auto parts and that includes shipping! I would absolutely recommend Rockauto to anybody that needs inexpensive parts and can afford to wait a couple days to get them, if you need them right away that's a different story.

Buyer beware! Ordered brake parts for my Audi Q7 S-Line Prestige. RockAuto only has one trim option so I assumed they would fit. Got the pads which were obviously too small. Ended up having to buy from the dealer. RockAuto states that it is not their fault and making me pay for return shipping. Waste of time, not worth the risk.
I've been using Rockauto for over 3 years now. Over the couple thousand dollars well spent, I've only had 2 incidents. 1 was my mistake by ordering the wrong parts, and the 2nd time was their mistake of sending a wrong part. Let's be real, everyone makes a mistake or two over a couple of years. With both mishaps though, they worked with me and corrected the issue without debate. They even acknowledged their mishap and shipped the correct part out ASAP! The truth is, even after the few mishaps I still rely on them over my local pricey parts stores. I may have spent a couple grand so far over the years but it's also saved me that much.
I order from Rock Auto alot and ive never got the wrong or bad parts. I ordered ceramic break pads on 3rd n was said to be here on the 9th but to my surprise got them 4 days early. I used to love Rockauto. They had every part i could ever need. But in the past year they've definitely declined. They still have parts for good prices. But now they don't have some of the simplest parts like a flange for the exhaust of a ford ranger. "Real specific part I know"
Sold me a defective compressor. No human customer service so I tried going though their website and no luck. I emailed and no response all day. I live in south Florida. It s not ok to not have ac. It s just too hot for that. So disappointed and feeling very frustrated with the whole thing!

Will never use RockAuto again, need to return a pair of Rancho shocks due to the fact that the upper mounting hardware isnt correct for my truck, even though their site stated that this was a direct replacement shock. I checked with a local shop (4WheelParts), their system didnt list this p/n for my year of truck (only up to 2006, NOT 2009). Now I'm stuck with paying shipping back to RockAuto, their competitors offer free shipping back. Keep in mind, I've been happy in the past with RockAuto (not my first purchase), however they lost my business over $10/$15 of their stupidity.
I have a '96 Saturn with close to 200K on it so you can imagine, I need a few parts! Before I discovered Rock-Auto that meant regular trips to the junkyard. It was fun and all but I'll tell you what's more fun: waiting for the parts to show right up on my doorstep! Everything was packed perfectly and fit beautifully. I've done struts, ball joints, tie-rod ends, rotors, pads, shoes and a new "Pure Energy" alternator. The parts were a bit more than the junkyard but they're BRAND NEW and I didn't have to get my hands dirty! Thanks Rock-Auto.
Good prices, not very good customer service - argumentative, non-cooperative - you'd think they'd want to solve a problem, not cause more, ensure a sale and a satisfied customer. I made an error in the order due to the confusing nature of their 1990's website/shopping cart. I immediately realized it and contacted them. Could they fix it? Not interested.
They ship you damaged parts and expect you to pay to return them.
They are the cheapest for a reason. Good luck getting any customer service or help with your orders. Twice in a row I've received damaged parts and they won't reimburse any of the costs of the parts.
Am thrilled with the product and speed in which it was shipped. Have been driving without speedometer or any gauges working for over a year. Thought it would cost a fortune to repair and if I had taken to dealer it would have. Rockautos web site made it easy to determine what I needed and in less than a week everything is working again.

Great experiance ...just only ever had one issue and it was with the shipping part of it ..ordered a new injection pump for like $800 and i get it and it has a broke electric plug due to being thrown around during shipping kinda ruined my day

We have 6 vehicles, all different makes and models... We have been able to find everything we need, everytime we need it... We just got an alternator for a Chrysler 200 limited.. EVERYWHERE else was over 350.. rock Auto had exactly what we needed for 187. We got it within two days .. yesss... Two days... Unfortunately, it didn't work... As soon as I shipped it back and provided a tracking number... They shipped a new one out that day.. at no cost to us... And again.. came within two days .. and it works perfectly... I absolutely love this company...
I have quit using Rock Auto because I could not reach a live person to talk to, after I made a mistake when ordering rotors for my car, I had it jacked up and out of service, I wanted to have the correct ones sent asap, and could not reach anyone, so I went to Auto Zone.
DO NOT buy from here! They will scam you and customer service will not help you or allow you to talk to a manager. Don't get burned like I did! I would love for a manager to contact me. Customer services refused to even give me the name of a manager.
