Ski in, ski out. Plenty of food and facilities. Rooms are average. No drying room for your ski gear.
Exceeded my expectations even with so many covid restrictions in place .
Ate at the BBQ set up outside for lunch while skiing. Burger was sub-par, but the resort itself was nice. Friendly staff.
Quiet rooms and ski-out directly from your patio. Nice lounge area + hot tub. Toiletries weren't great though.
The resort has a lift on the property just a few steps away from the guest rooms. There is an equipment valet for you to drop off your equipment when you return. The staff is very helpful and the rooms are nicely appointed. Six Peaks Grille is a delicious dining experience with a great view. The walls are a bit thin I'm my opinion. They're not so thin that you can hear normal conversations, but you definitely don't wonder if you have neighbors. I'm a bit surprised that the standard rooms don't have microwaves, considering they have rooms with kitchenettes.
Lovely views, comfortable stay. Amenities were adequate and the pool area looked great. We were there for a wedding and it was a beautiful setting. Would definitely stay again.
Wow, What more can I say. I was here for 3 nights and it was a wonderful time. The heated pool was amazing. I never thought I'd be swimming outdoors while looking at snow covered mountains in the background. Staff was polite and efficient. The food was great. I will definitely be coming back
ROOM...was spacious, a bit dated but nice and clean. Made no difference to me, but no microwave. Does have a mini fridge. Beds were comfortable.
FOOD...You dont want to miss the guy by the shops making fresh donuts in the morning on weekends.
They are the best !!! Reasonably priced as well.
"Sandys Pub" had very good food. Saw some burgers come out that were huge !
"Six Peaks Grill", I love salt but the lobster mac and cheese was much too salty for me. My bf finished it off, so apparently liked it a lot. Excellent filet mignon !! Was presented well, had great flavor, and was enough for 2 people. They do not skimp on the liquor in their drinks either. Server was knowledgable and friendly.
SERVICE...Every employee we saw in the hall, at the pool, etc...met us with a smile and pleasant greeting. Our truck battery went bad during our stay. The vallet personel assisted with a jump start. When that didnt work, the gal at the front desk called for us a taxi to go into town for a new battery. There are umbrellas just ouside the door of main lobby in case it rains. There is a filtered water dispenser in lobby. One side has lime and and one side has lemon. They have thought of all the small things.
Hot tubs were too hot. Yes, it is possible. Most people just sat with their legs in the water to keep from roasting. Otherwise, pool area is nice.
Overall it was a great place. Beautiful setting both day and night. Great food and great service. I do recommend.
Absolutely the friendliest, most anxious to please staff I've ever dealt with including the resort staff, restaurant staff, retail staff, etc. We got in the room late because of housekeeping and the resort kept apologizing and complementing food and beaverages. We weren't upset or inconvenienced at all. Excellent service recovery. The suite had gorgeous views although the "kitchen" lacked an oven and a freezer and the furnishings were tired looking and needed to be redone. The only exception to the really superior staff was the bellman who clearly did not want to help with the luggage but wouldn't allow us to handle our own. And wanted/expected a larger tip. Excellent vacation spot for adults AND families. We will return!
If I could leave zero stars I would. Least helpful and least friendly staff imaginable. I am trying to make a change to my reservations for this weekend and am being told I can not because of the 7-day cancellation window. I was unaware that making a change is now considered canceling my reservations. I was told by the manager that I should take up my problems with my work manager since a work engagement I found out about today is making it unable for me to stay on the friday I reserved. I am still able to stay on Saturday of my reservation but they will not credit me for future stay or reimburse me for my Friday night I am unable to stay. The woman was not willing to make any solution work other than tell me to give the room to a friend (which is $335 a night with taxes) or stay on a night I am unable to stay. I am completely appalled that what should be a pleasant stay for my friends wedding this weekend will now be a contentious and unpleasant stay having to deal with hotel staff that is both unhelpful and incompetent. I hope that anyone who reads this uses VRBO or AirBnB as those services have excellent customer service and are understanding of the obstacles that come up in life. I rarely take the time to leave a review, however in this case I am compelled to do so as I have never been so befuddled at incompetency of a 'hospitality' (using the term loosely) staff in my entire life.
Very nice resort. The lodge and grounds are really nice. The view is amazing. The pool area is very cool. The rooms are clean, but I could hear the visitor above us walking around and running the shower.
Great, helpful, greeting staff. Skiing great, no lines today.
We love eating out. Yesterday we went to this fine place which friends recommended to us. We spent a beautiful time there with very good food and an efficient crew and a distinguished cuisine. We added this place in our list and we will surely return very soon. We highly recommend.
Very nice resort with skiing, ice skating, and sledding. Very comfortable lobby with chess games
Beautiful grounds. Awkward hotel tower to lobby layout though.
Great rooms, close to the slopes by far from the traffic. Well-appointed room are only topped by friendly knowledgeable staff. Excellent year round pools and hot tubs. Convenient, classy, and would stay there every chance I get.
Had an awesome anniversary celebration and their concierge took care of us with complimentary gifts and a nice little welcome! Conor was super helpful, made us felt like VIPs and really made us want to come back with the excellent treatment and he even upgraded us to 7th floor. Fantastic fireplace suite valley view, best food we've had, and even the buffet was high quality excellent breakfast. Definitely recommend and would go again!
Room has mini kitchen with everything to prepare a meal. Free wifi throughout compound, basic cable. Has a tub and a standing stall for shower. Bedroom has a queen size bed. Living room has a sofa/pullout bed. There is a golf course, swimming pool, a bar and deli. Plenty of closedby trails to jog and bike.
The Resort at Squaw creek created a magical weekend for our entire family. My four year old Nephew was diagnosed with cancer 10 months ago and this weekend was the first time we could all be together. Other than hospital visits and going for a drive, the family has not been outside of their house for 10 months so this was a huge adventure. I reached out to the Resort to make sure it was safe for him and they went above and beyond to make the experience magical.
I wish I could remember everyone's names that helped us throughout the weekend. Alex at Santa breakfast was remarkable at making sure we had a table away from people, getting a Mickey pancake out right away, bringing unopened drinks, and making sure everyone was doing okay. Our waitress who I didn't catch her name but she works upstairs as well was so kind and helpful as well.
5 of the grandkids also were able to do build a bear because the Resort opened it up early so it was safe.
At dinner the team brought my Nephew's food out right away and even thought so far as to bring out unopened ketchup, mayo, and mustard. Remarkable. It is hard to think through all the logistics required with a child that is fighting cancer but this team went above and beyond!
We even left with some wonderful family photos thanks to Joana and the Resort for coordinating this magical moment. We haven't had a family photo in ages and these turned out wonderful. My mom even has a xmas card photo now thanks to you.
We are beyond greatful for your teams thoughtfulness to make this weekend magical.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Amazing resort! Friendly staff, great food, warm pools, 3 hot tubs, lots of things for kids to play with on site, comfy beds and incredible views! They go above and beyond to surprise and delight their guests. Fun family resort and very close to the lake.
We were there for the Thanksgiving dinner. Parking was easy and it was easy to find the restaurant. The food was superb and every member of the hotel staff was kind and helpful. The view out the windows was beautiful. If anyone is in the area for Thanksgiving, I would definitely recommend this!
VERY nice place, rooms, asking directly from the resort, ice skating, year round pool.
Customer Service however, could have been much better on many occasions.
Valet parking is annoying, expensive, poorly organized. Self parking was offered on the website but not on-site. Front desk was not caring at all when our son dropped sth and it was gone 5 min later already (only logical solution - staff "cleaned" the area).
Visited as a guest of a friend, and the place was very well groomed and had lots to do. The staff was friendly, and there were lots of great views in the lobby.
Great hotel, nice facilities. Has its own ski lift to get into the mountain.
Great amenities, shops, restaurants, skiing, snow activities... The rooms are a bit dated which surprised me. The staff was amazing
This is my family s time here and we had an amazing time. It s a pity the spa and waterslide were closed, but that is understandable since they re just taking precautions to stop the spread of COVID. The staff is friendly and very helpful and I love the shrimp tacos at Sandy Pub. I wish they had a changing table in the bathroom by the pool though.
Conference in a great property on a meadow in the mountains
Cozy little mountain nook. Not much to do if you don't ski, but it's plenty comfy and scenic.
Got a great mid-week spring break rate for our stay. Lovely room and accommodations, great customer service by the staff. The ability to check in our skis/poles and then just hop on the lift is awesome.
I go here for Thanksgiving and I love it. Ice links, fire work, ice skating show, Christmas tree lighting, huge gingerbread house. You name it!
Great hotel, friendly staff and good service. Fitness center and Sauna, steam room and hot tub were top notch.
It is hotel which is good enough to hotel top5 that we went to in the past. Facilities, convenience, shops, meals, and rooms are all missing places.
Nice venue for a company event. Helpful staff, hot tubs, heated pool, and shuttle over to the ski village. Also, a chair lift right outside the resort!
Go every year. Great local place either hang right there or easy drive into Truckee
Been coming here for years. This place is a wonderful resort. The staff is friendly. The rooms are really nice as well. Definitely would stay again.
Great place to be pampered. Everything there to make the snow vacation fun. My friend downhill skied while I did some back country snowshoeing. It's all there.
Great hotel nestled in the mountains with great staff and amenities.
Awesome property, have been visiting for at least 20 years. So senic and serene
The location was gorgeous with spectacular views. The property was pristine.
Went in the summer. Great biking, pool, hiking and easy access to the Olympic Village. An added bonus was the great games they had set up outside and the massive pool and hot tub.
It is a very nice place only that the food is good I would give it an 8 its rooms are very acceptable
Very nice place, Very overpriced .great golf course , bad service on course , no score cards no water .
Update: they clearly have made some improvements. Some rooms need little things fixed, but honestly it's small potatoes given the overall excellence of the facility and location.
I love this place, with some caveats. First, while I love the hotel, I do not love the guests, which are frequently pompous 1%rs with little thought to others. Second, at some point the hotel will need to invest in some improvements; from the fading red curb to the ancient coffeemaker to the missing drawer handles, it needs some updates. But the location can't be beat, the rooms are comfortable, and the grounds luxurious.
Great, helpful staff. Very comfortable rooms. It's a ski resort so a bit tucked away from doing summer activities (biking, river rafting, etc), but a very good high end base.
We enjoyed a nice weekend getaway here. The setting for the hotel is very good. It is beautifully situated with mountain views in three directions. Our room had a great view of the beautiful valley and the mountains. (The forest side views would not be terribly exciting, the valley views are stunning). The rooms are dated. They are clean and comfortable, but for the price of a stay, they don't quite measure up. The facilities are beautiful. The pool area is great. The service was excellent. They are working hard to deal with Covid-19. The best restaurants are closed, but Tahoe City is close so that wasn't too inconvenient. The room service for breakfast was tasty, but the server told me that may be shut down soon due to escalating Covid-19 restrictions. This is an excellent venues for both couples and families. Very kid friendly, but not in a way that distracts from the ambiance.
Beautiful up in the mountains lots of snow in the village at Squaw Valley plenty of things to do and see oh oh oh
One of the best snow activities resorts, really comportable rooms and amenities.
Nice rooms House keeping was wonderful Lots of kids on property super family friendly Kind staff Huge property Lots to do
Amazing!!! I stayed there during late June 2019 and boy were we in for a surprise. There are amazing views from every single spot in the hotel. It is the nicest resort in the area with pools, a golf course, and multiple trails. The resort is in the perfect location: 5 minutes north of the lake and 5 minutes south of the village. We drove down to the lake a couple of times, and walked up to the village where we were able to take a gondola up to the peak of the mountains, where there was still snow and skiing. We also had a great view of the lake from up there. The spa at the resort was lovely and we also had room service breakfast which was delicious. I d give it 10 stars if I could!
We went there for the weekend around 4th of July. A very nice place with a scenic environment. The hotel is especially good for families with children. We don't have children and enjoyed anyway.
Love it. The scenery is surreal. The people are very nice. The slopes are super fun
Large clean room with a great boutique and their breakfast buffet is tops.
An excellent place to enjoy with the family
The room is nice
The workers are hamables
The restaurants are fine
We will return the following year
Thank you all
No covered access to rooms from the hotel lobby. An outside walk of 150-200 ft. Expensive to eat. Crazy expensive to drink. The staff is a bit Young and a bit rough for $300 a night Hotel.
My parents own a condo at this resort. For the most part it's great. My son loves it. Very family friendly: pools, small game room, movie nights. Owners are allowed to bring their dogs but a few times one of the managers had told my mom to not wait around in the lobby with our very friendly dogs. Of course they would never say anything to my step dad (whose name is on all the bills). Their no-reservation restaurant is sometimes a disaster too (especially when they tell guests it's a 15 minute wait when its really over an hour). But other than those small annoyances the perks of the location and amenities make it worth it.
Gorgeous! Amazing service. Staff is incredibly attentive.
The staff is friendly and always seems to put forth just a little more effort than what I've come to expect. Prices for food are a little high, but that's understandable with how far the resort is from Truckee. Overall a fantastic experience, just wish I could afford to stay here more often.
I partied there back in the day, fear and loathing in the 90s!
Beautiful location and resort. Set up very well for hosting large social events.
Nice stay but ugly building. Pretty far from anywhere and not a lot of very good food options. Awesome pool and good service.
Amazing resort! The kids never left the waterslide! They have activities all week long to participate in, our kids favorite was the movie in the pool and the build a bear workshop!
We stayed here for 2 days in March 2015 and the experience left me with mixed feelings about the resort. The room was quite nice with a fireplace and kitchenette. The staff were friendly and helpful. The valley view was beautiful. However, you really have to hike quite a ways to get from the parking lot to your room. All the closer parking is reserved for valet parking. And the rooms with the valley view are above the shops. The heating and ventilation noise from the roof of the shops is so loud you can hear it through closed windows. Forget about peace and quiet if you want to open your window for some fresh air.
I will not return and cannot recommend this resort.
Very clean and responsive with good restaurants in and around the hotel
Had my proposal here and was happy didn't have to leave the resort for anything
Great price from Groupon and really quality food in all of their restaurants.
The restaurant is first-rate and broad, the menu was delicious and the rates were very reasonable. rapidly, efficient service and very amiable staff. Will definitely recommend this place.
Heated pool and hot tub. Clean rooms. Excellent service.
The room was spacious and clean, with a magnificent view of the mountains. The common area is cozy.
