I tried to get a room at GSR, but there were none available. Other than that it's ok.

Great resort! Just need to make sure the elevators are fixed before the big conferences start
I loved my stay at the hotel. Theres so much to do in there, its great! Very clean and rooms are nice. Only reason i wont give it a 5 star is because the front desk service is super slow. Not very friendly and not very helpful.
Very nice hotel! Great place to stay and take the kids! They have a bowling alley and arcade and movie theater a nice pool. Plenty of places to eat inside the hotel all around a very nice place.
Nice resort outside of the hustle of downtown. I have stayed here a number of times and Grand Sierra is my go to recommendation for hotels in Reno/Sparks. There are good dining options and you usually get a good rate here. The spa is pretty amazing as well.
Was a nice stay, had a good time. Staff was helpful and curtious. Only complaint is the chair for the desk was more of a sitting chair and made it inconvenient to use at the desk. The benches(?) at the feet of the beds were hard, but a nice platform for putting on shoes. We moved them out of our way though. Really, all I would change is replacing the desk chair with an office style chair.
Nice hotel. Was under remodel and still clean, not noisy. Went for my husband's birthday. Great overnight getaway, inexpensive and there was an error with our room upon arrival, so they immediately upgraded us and apologized for inconveniences. So much to do and food was great!!
The resort is nice, greatly accommodated us to our necessities, so much to do in the resort that I will be happy to go back to the hotel if I can :)
Great place for the hole family pleanty of activities, dinning, shopping, and relaxing. Great room accommodations, and excellent customer service.
Stopped in for a quick bite to eat, somr drinks and to play a little bit. Cool place if you want to get away from the main hustle of Virginia Street and the other major casinos in the area.
Very nice room and the amenities are excellent. They provided us toothbrushes when our luggage was delayed. It is always interesting to stay in a hotel casino which gives an odd vibe. Nonetheless, the hotel accommodations were great.
I attend an annual convention hosted at this venue~ It's been a highlight in the year visiting friends at this hotel each year ( this year was my 4th year! ). Hotel rooms are beautiful and very comfortable~ Hotel has a pool, hot tubs, lovely casino floor, multiple in house restaurants and food options, an arcade, movie theatre, shopping, convention space, and even a Starbucks~ My friends and I stay 5 nights at a time and never have to leave. And if you do need something, there's a Walmart next door! We always feel very well taken care of and are very grateful to this location for hosting us each year. Looking forward to next year already!
This resort is great for families with children. My son loves it!!!
I have stayed at many Reno resorts/hotels and GSR is one of the finest.
Just left the concert venue at the Grand Sierra Resort for HOT AUGUST NIGHTS and seen KOOL and THE GANG and what a show it was . It was in a perfect setting in a open air concert surrounded by hundreds of HOT RODS and everyone had a wonderful time.
Rooms needed updating. Not exactly what we expected, but not enough to ruin our stay. Fantastic HVAC system in gaming area, not a smoky as other casinos!!
This was fun, truly. We enjoyed dinner at Rim then gambled for a while, finally went to the show we high ad reservations for.
My only complaint is the smell of cigarettes BUT, it's Reno and a casino, the last place people can smoke and not be bothered. Maybe improve the ventilation system.
Valet parking was prompt and courteous and when I walked out the young man who parked my Yukon recognized me and requested it be brought back. Very nice!
Great place to play, eat and see a show. We'll be back!
Was not very exciting. Lots of construction in the casino. Bartenders had no personality. But I did go during the week. So...
I love the GSR. Go with low expectations and hopes for a wild time.
They got bowling, arcades, driving range, a sweet new pool.
I never stay in the hotel, but we always head there after Thanksgiving dinner. There s literally something for everyone in the family.
If you are in Nevada take your entire family here and dont look back.
Lots of slot machines great table games good place for seeing a concert
Stayed for 2 nights in December for my son's 21st birthday. Our room was super nice. We never actually ate there so dont know about the food, but we enjoyed the casino and actually did pretty well there.
Used the free airport shuttle to make a layover more tolerable. The buffets were decent and they have a coffee shop. I really didn't do much else...looks like some cheap movies.
Best hotel in Reno so many things to do but Fat Tuesday s is where it s at
I work here in the hotel so I may be a bit biased. :) However the casino is beautiful. There is a little bit of construction going on right now to improve the property even more. It is a great place to work as well. My team is fun to work with & very caring.
Came here for my birthday dinner. It was not what I expected. It's a glorified shoping mall with a casino. I expected upscale, what I got beanie baby shops and toddlers.
Good place to have family fun .. bowling, movie theater arcade and good pizza..
Always stay at the Grand, and always have a great time!
Lewis Black was great! The theatre was very nice and comfortable. Our room was great. Dinner was fabulous as always.
The bowling alley has plenty of lanes with reasonable prices
Easy to get to the convection center
Clean and friendly staff
Interesting group of patrons. Most were very young (22-30), so there may have been an event celebrating that age group. Lots of couples, and groups of three, and four, arguing loudly, and incessantly. But, I enjoyed eavesdropping on there petty spats, yet sometimes friendly banter which aided in reminiscing of my days of old. My free two night stay was otherwise restful, because the room was spacious, the bed was big, comfortable, they restocked my coffee, and water 16 ounce water bottles, the bathroom was eligant, and most pleasantly, the walls were thick so I could not hear my neighbors arguing, nor could they hear my late night/early morning t.v. watching. GSR has great (fast, reliable, free) internet. Compared to other casinos in the area, this one gave me the best customer service, and helpful floor employees (waitresses, service reps, security.)
Nice luxury hotel. We enjoyed our stay and will be back! Lots of food choices and entertainment options.
Check in was easy. Our room is fantastic. Love it here
Pretty nice and fancy. Great place for a week vacation. Spa, pool and relaxation. Emphasis on relaxation.
Awesome place to go for hot august nights and the buffet is good too
Great resort. ..lots to do. ...the only thing I didn't like was the smoke filled air typical of a casino. ...you can smell it even in restaurants (lots of great food options ) and even in hallways up in 6th floor near rooms...luckily did not smell in room
Great new rooms. Excellent Asian restuarant. We also tried the California Pizza Kitchen outstanding.
GSR is one of my favorite spots but tonight the 2nd of January 2019 they had a line from registration that looped around at valet and back past security. The machines were great I came up on $100 rather quickly.
the rooms are great the gambling is awesome the food is awesome
The hot water was having an issue but maintenance quickly resolved the issue. Very clean spacious rooms, my 1 year old loved the granite bathroom floor (:
stayed in the Summit Tower which was pretty good facilities. perks have gone down with the casino membership over the years, but still one of the better casinos in the area. sounds like an opportune time for a new competitor to rise amongst the ranks
Beautiful hotel with many activities for everyone. It has a nice pool, arcades for the kids, plenty of food choices and an awesome night club
Love this casino. It's got all you need in one place.
Sierra room work Christmas party. Dinner buffet was very good. Open bar was OK; little slow. About 100 people and all seemed to have a good time.
The kids fun center is great, however for some reason there isn't any AC in there and it feels like it's 90 degrees as soon as you walk in so make sure your kids are wearing light clothing if they're running around in Tumble Town.
They have a Johnny Rockets close by to feed them afterwards, they serve the delicouse burgers and Shakes . There is also a Round Table pizza and frozen yogurt place to choose from.
Very family oriented. Not to mention bowling, movie theaters and ice skating.
Attentive and helpful staff, relaxing atmosphere, bowling, night club, plenty of food options, and gorgeous rooms you will never want to leave!
It's great for family gi carts flying game room bowling
Just about all the entertainment you need on one site. The room was nice, but lacking a fridge and microwave (I think most hotels are going this route). So you really can't take food back from the Rib Cook-off to enjoy later.
After 12 years in the US Army it takes a lot for me to dislike an accommodation (especially one indoors) but here we are. The staff was wonderful, including wait staff at restaurants. However the overall vibe of the hotel on the weekend was one of unease. The hotel lobby smelled of marijuana and there were very aggressive groups roaming the lobby area. The lines for the elevators to get to your room were also insanely long. Finally, the parking lot was in constant need of litter removal. I dont fault the resort for that, per se, but it gives you an idea of the sort of people you'll be encountering at this resort. No thanks.
Such a classy establishment. My parents and I went to the theatre here, and while we waited for our movie, we window shopped at 2bella. A very quality selection, that wouldn't break the bank. The theatre was well-ran and comfortable.
Solid hotel and casino. Fun for all ages inside. They have a bowling alley and arcade for the kids. There's a fitness center to keep fit on vacation so you can keep eating. There's also a spa and pool for relaxation.
The rooms are spacious and very clean with complimentary water and coffee. Some of the outlets didn't work though.
Enjoyed the stay. About an hour away from tahoe. One of the better hotels in reno.
Large casino/resort in Reno. Minutes from downtown. Only complaint was the smoke. .
We had reservations at Steak in Grand Sierra for a birthday dinner but, when we got there, the hostess told us that their hoods were broken and could only serve us cold food if we ate there. It was only when I explained how important this dinner was, they involved the floor manager and got us a table at the Italian restaurant nearby with complimentary drinks and appetizers. They had tried to make reservations for us at another steak restaurant, but their phones weren't working either.. We ended up making the reservations ourselves for an hour later. Although it was a very nice gesture, it would have been a better experience if they had offered to help us with reservations right off the bat. And I don't understand how their phones weren't working. Get it together GS!
Great casino with just about anything you could want for entertainment. The dealers are very friendly, pit bosses are personable, and the comps are second to none.
Great atmosphere, service, food, and entertainment!
The GSR is one of my favorite places to stay. Extremely nice rooms!
Rooms are nice and clean, staff is friendly and the pool is amazing. Definitely stay here again.
The room was very spacious, impeccably clean and the bed was so comfortable! The sheets were perfectly flat without any wrinkles and the pillows were excellent! Not to stiff, to hard, to soft, just the right amount of fluffiness to be able to rest my head comfortably and support my neck.
The couch was comfortable as well too! There was plenty of space to store my belongings and tuck my suitcase away. Shower pressure was excellent! Having exceptionally long hair is always trying when traveling to wash but, it was no issue at all!
With all the room it the newly remodeled showers I felt like a Queen!
Definitely worth the upgrade!
Really nice hotel suites. Nice casino and restaurants. I enjoyed my stay.
Great atmosphere, good entertainment, good comps if you're a regular gambler, lots of drawings and promos
Woww amazing little city in a building! Lollz played some slots. Won and loss. Had a blast.
My favorite hotel and casino in the reno area, clean rooms and nice casino. Good food and fun entertainment as well.
Worst resort casino ever. The room I received was incredibly smoke-filled from cigarettes. I got a headache and a stomachache from the stench in the room. They were sold out and could not move my room. The food in the diner was horrible too. The front desk staff was not welcoming. I became sick from this place.
Grand Theatre, LEX NIGHTCLUB, SPA, VIRTUAL REALITY, AXE THROWING.
We had a room with specific features reserved but it was given away. I'm guessing because of the conference that was going on. It was my wife and three kids, so the option they gave us for a room with a single bed wasn't really ideal. It didn't make sense to even offer that in the first place when you can see we're a large family. Other than that, things were fine. I even won a bottle of hand sanitizer.
Grand buffet is amazing, the variety of food and quality is top notch! Valet service was great and everyone was super helpful. Had a massage and was very happy. All ariund amazing experience
It was fun. Don't forget to check out the bowling alley.
Love this hotel. Comfortable rooms and friendly staff
I've been visiting the GSR for a social convention and it has been very nice. It has changed so much since I was here last, the inside looks amazing. The basement has great open halls and everything is easy to find.
Great place to gather. Fancy and clean rooms. Great pool.
Good buillding. They are often looking to upgrade the experience. Not very smoky at all
Good value and restaurants. Point accrual for comps and freeplay is rather anemic but they do send good mailers and marketing offers which makes up the difference. Only reason I don't give this place 5-Stars is the parking is so far away. Hotel rooms are very very nice.
Nice casino with great staff. Nice rooms & plenty of places to dine. Great offers on free rooms. The basement has a theater, play area for kids, shops, gym, & more places to dine! Nice waitresses on gaming floor, but a bit cramped with slots & ventilation is not great for non smokers although there is a tiny area for them. Didnt see any substantial winnings there after three nights.
I had a great time at a Craftsman Homes company function there on Saturday. What a wonderful and friendly place, food and service was a total five-star experience.
Went there to bowl. It was great. Been to the casino other times. More like a Vegas casino than what you would expect from down and dirty Reno.
Went to GSR for training. Great food and accommodations. Casino area smells smoky. I vote for smoke-free casinos!!
My mom Cyndee Farstad works there!! I think the hotel part is the best because it is the greatest stay also I am 13 so I can't be in the casino area and can't walk in the red carpet
It's been many years since we last visited Reno and this hotel did not disappoint in any way. Check in/out was quick and easy. The room was clean, well appointed and comfy. Good food in the restaurants and plenty of slots to keep us entertained. Would definitely stay here again!
Did not stay in the room but we came in and visited the Fun Qwest center for kids. Lots of neat things for the kids to do. The hotel has lots of enternaintment available from what we saw and everything looked well maintained. Next time we are in the area, we will probably stay the night here. :)
I remember staying here on November 11, 2016. I was here with my dad, his friend, and his kid. We all were treated very well. Good place to have fun. They even have a driving range in the back of the hotel to hit some balls in the water or in barrels to win prizes.
I love this place. Super accepting. Fun atmosphere. Nice rooms. Good bars and restaurants. Fun.
