Extremely average stay and definitely not a relaxation hotel.
The additional charges along the way were a bit annoying despite trying to position itself as a spa break hotel you have to pay an additional charge to gain access to the thermal suites (even though half the suite is actually in the leisure centre??!) . Plus 9 per night for parking?! I believe you also have to pay to access the gym?!
From check in staff did not seem welcoming, I went to bar food the evening I arrived and changed seats 3 times in order to get served! Same story the next day at lunch I just left after 20 mins of no one serving me despite it being dead. My room was always cold. All of the above very average experience given the price but things you can let slide.
However on my last night of a relaxing spa break I realised the hotel was hosting a student ball, from 8pm until 1:30am the noise outside my room was awful! This definitely was not the experience I expected at the price point and I actually felt a little uncomfortable in the hotel as well as not being able to sleep.
My advice: if seeking a spa break book Seafield, Monart or Powerscourt etc- not much more expensive but far superior in experience. If seeking a city break, book one of the cheaper hotels on eyre square. There is nothing stand out about this hotel, it s trying to be something it s not and it s just not worth the money.

The worst room I've ever stayed in, kettel was broke, ironing board was broke, fan in bathroom didn't work, we're not able to connect device to the, either wireless or direct, bed was squeaky.

Very good hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful (the only negative was that we had been referred twice on arrival, since our room was not ready, although we were already there after the check-in time).
The room was big with a view of the river. Bathroom was not overly large, but adequate.
The breakfast buffet was big enough, there were both sweet, and savory. The coffee was horrible (in my opinion).

As soon as I entered the hotel lobby, the check in service was very friendly and very careful.
It s very lively today, the lobby bar is very lively, and many people are watching the game drinking.
The room is very elegant and clean, and the view from the window is very open.
Will visit again

The galmont was easy to find with underground parking at a very good discounted rate for hotel guests ( 8), upon arrival we were given a room without a bath a quick call to reception and we were soon moved to a new room, in the older part of the hotel above the gym although you could here the music playing below this didn't overly annoy us. The room was adequate with a comfortable bed and all the modern facilities you would expect. The location is a superb 5 mins walk from central Galway. The choice at breakfast was very good with plenty of options both cold and hot.The galmont is a large modern hotel form the decor to the seemingly robotic staff who while doing nothing wrong just seemed to be going through the motions. If you're simply after a bed and good location the galmont is fine, it just lacks the wow factor for a truly memorable stay. I would not stay here again as there plenty of other options to consider in Galway city.

This is a fabulous hotel, really well located, we travelled there by train and it was just around the corner, main square, shopping, restaurants and some tourist attractions all within walking distance. The rooms are lovely & the bedding very comfy. Food in restaurant was gorgeous. I'm a coeliac & anything that came from the kitchen was fabulous, the gf toaster at breakfast buffet was being used by people for normal bread which is only issue we had throughout our stay.. Definitely recommend it.

The staff in the spa were very nice and friendly.
The hotel was nice and comfortable , we were waiting three quaters of an hour for bar food to be served, when I asked for the bill , it was brought to me straight away

The bed was nice and comfortable and the location was central. However there was a lot of downfalls. As a hotel resident, you have to pay to park your car which is absolutely ridiculous. Certain things in the room were not working and when it was mentioned to the receptionist on checking out, he did not seem bothered and rudely told us that he could not offer us a reduction on the price we payed for the room. This is not what we were suggesting so it was quite insulting. Staff weren t very welcoming or attentive and huddled in groups in the restaurant chatting and playing with their hair, which is extremely unhygienic especially with the handling of food and drink. We had a drink in the bar and had to witness several people getting thrown out of the hotel which was very disruptive. The barman also refused to make cocktails which were requested and was extremely rude. I ve stayed in 3 star, even 2 star hotels and have had a much more enjoyable experience. This hotel to me is by no means a 4 star hotel.

We stayed at this hotel for three nights in late August 2019. In our opinion, everything about it is average. The line to be seated for breakfast was ridiculously long the first two mornings we were there. Clearly they needed an additional staff member to seat people. On the last morning there we left so early that we ended up paying for full Irish breakfast, but walked out with an apple, banana and cup of tea because that's all they had to offer. I was NOT happy about that. Ordered room service the second night, just a pizza, and after an hour I had to call again to find out what was going on. They said it would be right up. Thirty minutes later it arrived. We informed the front desk and they removed the delivery charge from our bill. The pizza itself was nothing special and the night before when we ate in the restaurant the food was unremarkable and the service, although friendly, was slow even though they were not busy. The pool was slimy. We were both slipping at the edges by the steps. Pictures posted make it look like hotel is right on the water, but in fact there is a busy road in between. It is conveniently located near the train and bus station and not a far walk from everything worth seeing and doing in Galway. If we had to do it all over again, we would not stay here.

Nice hotel, reception experience was great. We had hit and miss service with some of the staff in Cooper's bar. The superior rooms were definitely worth upgrading to. We had no view but great space. The hotel itself has a lot to offer. Spa and leisure centre, jacuzzi etc. 5 minute walk from Eyre square. Very central, nice Galway hotel.

Very loud base and sound coming from a party downstairs until very early a.m.. Shocking pints in the hotel, the Guinness was like something out of a horror movie (the guy that served me didn't even give it chance to settle).Hotel bar lacked attention such as cleaning the fridge doors etc. Kettle in my room didn't work! Nice rooms with comfy beds! Very clean however door aricitraving could badly do with replacement as old and shabby! Great location! Tight parking underground which you have to pay extra for!! Bouncers required outside as a few rough druggies in tracksuits and runners allowed in to mix with the Christmas Partys

Lovely relaxed atmosphere, lots of soft comfortable seating in bar & foyer. We had a problem with our bathroom but were moved to another room immediately. Rooms are spacious, beds very comfortable. Thermal suite is excellent...checkout "the beach " room .

Good location, friendly staff. The pool area can only be used with bathing caps, in general it had more of a fitness center flair.
The rooms were nice, but noisy and with a shower curtain (why not a glass?).
Breakfast was good average.
