John at receiption excellent! Very professional attentive n welcoming. Room 320 lovely. Spotless!! When we asked for more solid pillows we got them in mins. Breakfast was just amazing. Food excellent. Waitresses were very helpful n prompt in service. We'll be back. Ger
Very nice hotel foods abit expensive but hey 4 star
Great spot & very cental in the heart of Galway City
I visited this placed for an office party . I was very happy with the ambience and staff there.
Slowest service in all of history with plenty staff afloat will not revisit
Attwned an wvent at The Galmont recently. Very dissappointed to see plastic glasses being used. Is the hotel unwilling to pay staff to clean glasses? What about recycliny?
Super hotel, on a grand scale, big bedrooms big lobby, great food, great stUff. ,
The hotel is good! The internet connection is weak(
Brilliant to go afterwards after the Galway races. Recommend
Nothing special about the Hotel. Food not great either.
Amazing stay. Everything was extremely clean and sanitised. Really nice food and cocktails and the room view was gorgeous
Very good .. food excellent.... staff vry friendly and helpful
Didn't stay here, was just here for meetings, coffee drinks, in their lounge, bar and terrace. Lovely spaces, hotel prices, nice staff.
Beautiful hotel, very nice, quiet, well taken care of. The servers in the restaurant were a bit cold and forgetful towards us, but the food was good, and the drinks were cold.
Was there for a fashion event so it was perfect. Large open spaces, clean and tiny, lovely spot of a coffee and relax or work on your laptop etc.
The hotel is amazing room's fantastic and the spar is out of this world
It does have a problem with congestion at the lifts as you can be left waiting for quite some time to go up or down especially if you're trying to access the car park. it does have stairs but they're very hard to find
The breakfast is first class with everything you could want or need.
But the evening menu is a bit limited and maybe because it was so busy not quite at the high standard that I'd come to expect nothing wrong so to say, presentation really nice it had a good flavour but just wasn't anything special certainly didn't leave me wanting to go back which is a pity
as I say maybe because it was busy but that's the only reason it's a 4 not a 5
Staycation galore! Cozy, nice ambience and good customer service.Enjoyed the sauna and jacuzzi!and lookin forward for One Spa..
Really nice hotel. Our room is quiet and clean. Very spacious. The view is nice when the weather cooperates.
This used to be the Radisson Hotel and used to be very nice. I checked in for one night & was put out in the "East Wing" they call it. It's basically the non updated part of the hotel that's in poor condition and very far from everything. They didn't seem to be many rooms booked in that part of the hotel but luckily they stuck us next to some extremely noisey people & of course the walls are paper thin. Did I mention the food? I ordered soup and I'm not sure what flavor it was except a strange tan color and bland as hell. All in all I say stay away & wait til the new owners figure out what customer service is!!
One of the best hotels in Galway.. Brilliant location (particularly if travelling by train) The staff can't do enough for you.. Presley on reception deserves a special mention for being so professional... But in a very natural and warm way.. Would highly recommend staying here
Beautiful hotel and staff are so friendly and helpful. Definitely worth a visit
Lovely hotel. Beautiful views and very central. Would recommend.
Fantastic hotel with all the amenities! In addition to the awesome free breakfast and huge room, we had a great dinner at the hotel. We also took advantage and f the fitness room and hot tubs. Just a quick walk from the main drag within Galway. Highly recommend the Galmont Hotel & Spa!
Visit the spa here a couple of times a year with my friend. On our last visit it was under renovations. Not a big deal. However, despite the fact I was told when we booked that they were "fully booked" and couldn't get a treatment for the same time as my friend... we were the only people there!?! I spent the time in the Thermal suite instead..which I had to myself... Disappointed not to get a treatment when meanwhile 3 staff stood around looking bored at spa reception.....???
Excellent service and great workout facilities. Great location to be within walking distance of the best places to eat in Galway.
Had work event on pre-booked weeks in advance. Two vegan meals were arranged with the hotel. When arrived at the party no vegan food seemed to be out so after approaching one of the staff members we finally got some food after half an hour waiting. Could not believe what we got at a pre-booked party in such a beautiful and high standard hotel. For dessert we got chocolate mousse with sorbet which was nice despite the fact that again we had to ask member of staff for vegan desserts.
My dad had a stressful and very disapionting stay in tge hotel in june this year he arrived at 4 o'clock pm and the room was not ready he had to wait for over half an hour which caused him significant delay attending a function that evening . he had made over 2 weeks in advance getting quite floor. He had made repeatedly to the resevration staff requesting quite room on top floor to his disappionment he was given a niosy room on the first floor and he tried many times with the hotel staff to change the rooma and it was cometely usuuccesful and in fact they were totaaly not interested and they had a careless attatude toward customers interest . definatly not recommended
This is the view of my dad when he went .
Although it has improved over the last year they still have a long way to go,maybe start with staff training and friendliness.
Trust the bad reviews! One sheet on bed. Two twin beds pushed together for a king. Chipped paint on all the walls. Unorganized staff in the front lobby. Old bathrooms. If you book earlier for your stay in Galway you can find way better value for your money. I don t recommend this hotel. Equivalent to a Super 8 in the States.
Room clean good dinner and delicious breakfast buffet
Fab place food great staff not to good with kids that's the one problem with the place all the money you spend on meals for guest disappointment in that area
Great hotel, great location and helpful staff. We booked an upgrade online through a separate company, I didn't feel that I got and upgrade when I asked to speak to the manager he refunded the update charge and was very apologetic. Will return here again soon.
Spa is a joke, I do not recommend it. The rooms could be cleaner.
Great hotel, with brilliant breakfast. Ideally located in Galway City. Would return without a doubt.
The hotel is lovely. The spa is really nice, and the outdoor hot tub is great.
We were on a package that included dinner, but the restaurant was closed, so we were in the extended bar area. The food was nice, but the service was poor enough, it took almost 20 mins to figure out what menu we should use and the attention was sparse. Granted it was a Sunday, but just a bit disappointing, especially considering how nice the hotel is.
I would recommend the hotel, but perhaps eat elsewhere, there are many very nice restaurants in the city.
Watched the Limerick match here and had a toasted sandwich, was quite nice and reasonable enough price. Too many managers on and not enough actual staff though
No staff to help with luggage.
Poor service in Cooper s Restaurant. Food ok.
Expensive parking.
Nice room.
Put us in a room and area that was not complete (paint fumes and no thermostat) and no fans. No view from the tiny window. 2 stars are for the great beds(super comfortable) and the excellent room service.
Recently visited the Galmont for two nights and we were looking forward to our visit.
Overall the stay was very average.
Service was poor at the restaurant on both occasions as we had to look for someone to take our order on each occasion. We had ordered drinks but they hadn't arrived until we asked again. Our waiter was also happy to inform us that he was going on his break and that somebody would bring our drinks.
The lifts in the hotel take a very long time to arrive and the stairs aren't placed strategically for access.
At parking level you also have to wait for the lift as the stairs doesn't go to the lower level. Parking is also 8 euro per day extra.
We also tried to contact the spa on 4 separate occasions and there was no answer. We paid a lot of money for the room and presumed access to the thermal suite would be free, but we were told it would cost 20 euro extra per person.
We were very disappointed with our stay and our parking was paid for by the hotel upon leaving.
We will be back to Galway but just not here unfortunately.
Nice hotel, well laid out. Parking onsite. Walking distance to town centre 5 mins
Great stay in an ideal location. 5min walk to Eyre Square
Great room service, spa and gym. Also a very good breakfast service.
Stayed there for 2 nights. The staff were friendly. The room was clean and was also very well cleaned and refurbished. The location is relatively central, say you are in 10 minutes in the city center and in 4 minutes at the bus station / train station.
The hotel is spacious and comfortable hotel. The breakfast buffet is delicious, I recommend it!
The hotel is nice. Bar service is the worst. Staff have no logic to their system serving customers.
Great hotel, large rooms with very spacious bathroom. Fantastic views from the bedroom.
Right in the center of town. Leisure center and swimming pool are excellent, very clean and friendly staff.
Perfect service, cleanliness, location, restaurant and bar
spent 2 nights a Galmont on arrival we spent 25 min just trying to get into car park as there was a function going on in hotel went to reception and it was very loud fair enough it was an occasion going on our room was small as it was a superior room it was a small bit grubby marks on walls and bathroom ceiling was very dirty. the room had a safe which did not work it had a fridge that was great, the view was poor we had a skip outside the window and woke us up being changed at 8.15 next morning ,the bed was big and comfortable. The staff are friendly and location is good not to far to city centre.Breakfast is super lots of choice and nice food over all we had a nice stay if it was same room I would not return ...
Beautiful hotel...staff very attentive...very handy to town x
Only stayed here for one nite room was brill and bed was top class good nite sleep and a very good breakfast.on check in it was fast and friendly.the only thing was staff were out numbered to guests in the breakfast room not staff problem but floor managers.staff where top class.hotels put there price up everytime theres a festival its the hotels that price themselves out off customers.and they always will.
Beautyful Hotel lovely staff and Galway is a beautiful Irish City
This was the worst hotel stay of my life!!
The first night I was bit two times by a bed bug. When I went downstairs in the morning to change to the room, I was not received with empathy. The lady at the front desk said that my bite looks like a mosquito bite even though I explained to her previously that I eliminated that option already. I was able to determined that my bites look just like the bed bug bites through google.
I was able to change the room with no further issues, but I have not received any apologies or additional information about this insistence. This was extremely disappointing and I will never stay at this hotel again.
No complaints what so ever. Breakfast is beautiful. Such a big choice of a buffet. They even have mini muffins & smoothies. Worth the trip for them in itself!!
Great location, very friendly staff. The food in the restaurant is delicious, well worth a visit.
Absolutely excellent hotel. Was there for a wedding weekend and it could not be better. Superb service and staff. Food was excellent. Room spacious and comfortable. Fabulous breakfast. Such choice. Will be back
Fab hotel, we enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Spotlessly clean, Food excellent, breakfast fab. Room and facilities were excellent just 1 problem the pillows were too soft for me even with getting an extra 1. The bed was so comfy.
To the entire staff well done and top marks ye were so friendly its a credit to the hotel management should be proud of ye , the guys in the leisure centre well done so polite and friendly too.
The hotel is nicely situated in the city centre which I liked.
I have 3 matters that should be addressed in my opinion.
The hotel had excellent covid policys in place, but lacked where a small percentage of customers were not wearing masks while walking around the hotel public areas, this needs addressing.
2. the car parking is a bit pricey for guest at the hotel, yes I know its a city car park but it is the hotel car park which makes a difference 9e a night is a bit of a rip off im sorry to say.
3. information on the hotels covid procedures for the room hygine policy should be displayed in the rooms just so the guest knows that the rooms are not cleaned for ur stay and that you have to ring for towels etc for the room.
Other than that an excellent hotel and will be back, but with my own pillow.
