An amazing place. Probably the most relaxing place I've ever been to. We stayed for two weeks and mostly stayed in the resort - which is a little long for the food menu as there isn't that much variety over a 2 week period, but the are other places in the island so it's probably a reflection on me rather than on the resort. Going to go again one day!!

Magical place! Tranquil, exellent food, great service and very nice and hospital staff

Beautiful resort on a quiet stretch of beach. Amazing service from a friendly and professional staff. The food and beverage options were all top notch. There were plenty of activities for families with children, but they did not disturb my ability to have a relaxing, peaceful stay. A special thank you to Michael Eutrope who made sure no detail was overlooked while exemplifying gracious hospitality.

Basically just fine. Staff don t care, food takes literally hours to arrive - drink orders get forgotten. It is fine for what it is, but don t expect amazing service for your stay. Good location - bad management.

Beautiful resort. Food is great. 5 star everything except the beach isn't as nice as some of the other islands.

Our sailboat anchored in the bay so we decided to take the dingy to the beach for a glass of wine in the bar. What a setting....absolutely beautiful! Service was friendly and efficient. Wines by the glass are quite good.

Spending the day here for the birthday, was GREAT! The hotel has beautiful lush landscaping with splashes of flowers. The whole surrounding is very relaxing. We had drinks by the bar at 11am ;), and went onto the beach where we had an umbrella and 2 beds, equipped with towels and even a cooler! The beach guy was very pleasant and friendly and the restaurant staff was great! The Food was really good also, not a full plate but delicious! Clean beach and surroundings, service great and all friendly faces!

Beautiful relaxing and the best vacation spot in the Eastern Caribbean

I bought a day pass and boy was it worth it. The staff rolled out the red capet for me like I was paying the $900 per nite rate. The accoodations are first rate. They gave me a locker with a key to store my things. I started off at the gym. Then made my way to the beach. It didnt disappoint. Clear blue water. No seaweed. A really nice guy came over to the two beach chairs and umbrellla the seemed to be waiting for me. He brought a cooler with bottles of water and ice. This was certainly starting off on the right foot. The day pass came with a 2 course lunch. But if by 2 courses they meant seasoned olives, mixed veges, pumkin with spinish, plaintains, saltfish and fried dumplings, followed by a kiwi tart and coconut ice cream, then count me in. And I didn't even have everythig they were offering up. I indulged in a spa treatment which was wonderful - mango honey scrub. Hung out in the sauna before going back to the beach. They offer afternoon tea, so I ordered a giger ice tea. It was more like ice water infused with ginger but it was refreshingg and delicious! Came with little crumpets. They basically had to drag me out of that place. Everyody seemed to know my name and made me feel quite welcomed. I highly recommend this place if you can afford it. If you can't, buy a day pass like me and see how other side lives.

Expensive but worth it. Treat yourself to a relaxing experience that you will never forget.

Pleasant staff, secluded area, great views of the boats during Antigua sailing week.

Definitely not 5 star! We had to travel out of the resort everyday to other beaches as the water was brown compared to the rest of the island! The food selection is terrible and over priced, absolute daylight robbery! You have been warned!

In our second day someone stole from the safe! We have a suite by the beach but to get a chair you have to sale up at sunset. There s no make up my room or no disturb. Room service is so dam slow . This hotel can not be at leading hotel of the world list !

I've been here for lunch and stayed a few times. It's always perfect!

I had a reservation with the possibility of free cancellation. I have canceled it 4 months in advance but they do not return the money back. Be careful with your reservations, they tell you that they can be canceled but they do not make the refund.

We have been five times to this unique wonder of a hotel. Book an Ocean Suite. They are huge. The vast room is divided into bed/ bath/ sitting room and balcony. Perfectly designed and so spacious that even the balcony has a double daybed on it plus a table & chairs. The bathroom has a giant tub, racing basins, large shower, two wardrobes, separate loo etc.
Then, of course there is the white sandy beach just outside. A mere totter and you re on your lounger being offered some chilled melon on a kebab or a cold drink. The staff are an absolute delight, they always remember you, they are endlessly patient, smiling and helpful. Things can be slow, but in a truly Caribbean way, you don t want to rush.
The resort has four places to eat, an Asian restaurant, a general restaurant, a BBQ & fish on the beach restaurant, and a light lunch pizza n pasta or salad place by pool.
Facilities for playing in or on the sea are all a stroll down the beach. There s a cinema, a gym, lots of tennis courts and a really chilled beauty spa.
Quite honestly we hardly leave once we ve settled in. If you ve done the tourist sights on your first visit, apart from eating the odd meal out,there is no reason to.
Oh yes, there is a jetty at the end of the beach, which you can book for a private dinner. A butler serves you, the jetty is lit by lanterns and candles, the sea gently laps, and the moon makes a silvery path. Sitting there, one November night, my husband proposed to me. It truly could not have been more perfect.

We were visiting Carlisle Bay on a yacht.The bay itself is great for snorkeling. I went along the rocks to the right of the beach as you look out to sea. We arranged to have lunch at Indigo On The Beach. The resort was not at capacity so we're allowed to book a table. The setting is lovely. Open front to the restaurant looking out over the bay. A colonial feel to the design. Full round timber construction and wood timber ceiling all painted white with varnished floors and hardwood chairs. The food was well presented and the quality of ingredients was very high. Dishes were simple and tasty. Service was first class to say the very least. We were welcomed in wearing normal day to day beach clothes. The pool area looked very comfortable. A luxury meal for us. A meal for 4 cost $250 with some beers and wine. Unfortunately this was our last day on the yacht so we caught a taxi from the hotel back to the airport for $56 dollars.

This stunning beach simply happens to be located in one of my favorite hotels of all times Carlisle Bay Antigua. This calm beach is normally protected from winds thus frequently you'll find sailboats seeking cover here. One of my preferred things about this beach other than its size and the pure white sand is how many birds there are in the nearby trees. You can hear their song loud and clear, which just adds to the quality and atmosphere of this remarkable Antigua Beach.

Maybe the best hotel I've ever stayed in. Responsive staff; Afternoon tea; Scenic surroundings .......

Despite being in a very beautiful location, the very kind and attentive staff, the well-organized structure with large rooms and suites on the beach, I don't feel like giving more than three stars as an overall rating.
Although it cannot be blamed on the resort, the beach is not that typical of the Caribbean, which is white sand with turquoise waters. Instead, it is of a banal beige color that in water, to the touch, is also a bit slime.
The sea, on the shore, is almost always cloudy, due to the long currents of the surf that move the sand in the seabed.
You can also go to the Caribbean, if not above all, for the white beaches and transparent and turquoise waters.
The restaurants inside the structure (I ate at Ottimo, from East and from Indigo) I found them too expensive compared to the quality and variety they serve. The Asian East is perhaps the only one that deserves a more than positive mention. Great, fresh food at an adequate price.
The precooked pasta served by Ottimo is unacceptable.

Final judgment: good.

We could not have asked for more, thanks for a wonderful stay! The staff, facilities, food and setting were all perfect and we cannot wait to stay here again. Could not recommend this hotel highly enough.

Ignore the resort and the people there... It's lovely and quiet the other end. Walk up to the resort end for excellent snorkeling. It's shallow all the way to the breaking waves where the best coral is. But good everywhere that end.

Fantastic resort, so clean and the staff is really nice with everyone. The food is deliciously cooked. In a week of vacation we saw different resort on the island and i think is this is the best one. The beach is beautiful.

The rooms are lovely. The beds are comfortable and the pillows to die for.
It's a wonderful place and service was also great.

Wonderful location in a rainforest bay, with smell and sound of a tropical place. I can suggest to try their Asiatic Restaurant.

Carlisle bay was a wonderful and the most luxurious part of our 2 week stay in Antigua. The rooms were very spacious, very well decorated and very comfortable. The atmosphere of the hotel was definitely very high class with amazing service.
The food was always great, every meal felt like I was eating at a fancy restaurant. My wife has celiac's disease and is lactose intolerant (gluten free and dairy free). They had no problem altering dishes when needed, but generally there was always a great selection available to her.
If you can afford it I would recommend this wonderful hotel, and if possible get the meal plan.

One little slither of heaven on earth. A place to massage and coax brain cells back to feeling like tear rubber. Amazingly quiet beach and bay, great Caribbean food and the most polite and helpful people you will ever meet. Gem of the Caribbean.

Amazing resort. The views, Grounds, ambience, surroundings, atmosphere, staff, rooms are stunning. You feel special and relaxed here. Rooms are large spacy airy clean, and have an upscale island feel. Staff remember your name and service is personable. Will definitely visit once more.

One of the best rated places to stay in Antigua. Great location.kinda pricy. In fact really expansive. But every thing about it is amazing :)

I was not staying at the resort but stopped and had lunch. After a short walk around the grounds I was intercepted and asked to leave "This is a PRIVATE Resort..."
I was not disruptive in any way before during or after the "event". I regret spending money at their Private Resort because I felt asking me to leave the property after buying lunch was inappropriate. (The place wasn't very busy, I think I know why)
