The Putnam lexus guys are know for the service and customer satisfaction which I experienced in the very first meeting. I and my wife were looking for reserving a SUV and had expressed interest over email. A gentleman called David was there to assist us all throughout over email and in-person as well. David also got the car washed and fueled up before our test drive. Prior to this visit we had been working with Lexus of Stevens Creek but the customer engagement and treatment is miles apart. Putnam folks really value the customer and their time whereas Stevens Creek folks don't seem to be bothered about selling a car.

Fadi is the best. He is professional, courteous, honest and explains that outcome and suggestions of the inspection in an understandable manner. I have been going to him for about 7 years and will ONLY see Fadi as my Service pro. I trust him.
Went in for an airbag recall, and although I normally don't use the dealership for scheduled maintenance I was already there, so I went ahead with a regular maintenance. I knew there were some things wrong with the car, so I expected to get a call from them asking for permission to work on a few things.
Those calls never came though, and all I got was a call to go pick up my vehicle. If they did perform an inspection they failed to identify simple issues, such as a dead bulb and a shattered fog light housing. I was extremely disappointed that they did not detect these issues, suggesting they never even did the inspection that I'm sure I paid for as part of the 30k service.
The service advisor did not meet with me to go over the work that was performed when I returned to pick up my vehicle. Instead they took my money and shooed me out the door.
A few days later I received a phone call for a routine follow up from someone at the dealership. I expressed my unhappiness with the poor service I received, and he said he would have the service advisor call me. They never called.
I later received an e-mail survey asking me about my service. I again expressed my unhappiness with the service I received and asked to have the dealership to contact me. It has been 9 days since the most recent request and 17 days since the service date, and I can't even get this dealership to contact me to complain about the fact that I was charged for work that was not performed.
This was my first and likely last experience with Putnam Lexus.
If you are shopping for a new Lexus, go see Taz Zouri at Putnam Lexus! He's amazingly patient and very knowledgable on all the different options. There is no pressure with Taz and he's truly there to help find you the right car for you in more ways than one! He keeps it light and truly cares. Great great shopping experience at the dealer thanks to Taz Zouri!
Poor service detail, I purchase oil, oil filter and the plug gasket but why on earth? did the guy had to use masking tape over the coating of the gasket??? Who n the hell knows? It defeats its entire purpose!!!!
This is the worst experience in my life. The salesman s name is Andy. He did not show any respect to the potential customers. I will never consider Lexus as my choice because of his help .
1 When I asked for a test drive, he said you should reserve online first, or it will take me 20 minutes to drive the car here . He is extremely reluctant to give us the test drive. 2 We went to Acura and Audi before we stopped by Lexus, their sales men sit in front row next to the driver and explained us the difference between the package (middle package) we test and others (basic or advance package) patiently and in a nice way. Andy sit in the backrow before we entered the vehicle, then tossed the key to the front panel. Actually we did not need to insert the key to start the vehicle. Tossing the key to us showed that his was not well educated. During the test drive, we asked Andy, is this middle package? He said yes . We continued to ask what is the difference between middle package and basic or advance package? He replied YOU CAN GO HOME TO SEARCH ONLINE . -- Excuse me, are you serious. Also, he did not tell us where we should go in intersections, we asked for the direction every time. 3 After the test, we asked the price for 2017 version, he said If you do not buy today, there is no need to know the price. I asked him again, he still did not tell us the price. OK, I am so pissed off. 4 He did not even give us his business card. This is very unprofessional. We knew his name from his name tag.
Maybe he did not think we can afford the vehicle, and we are qualified as Lexus customers.
Disclaimer: I didn't get the work done, but the dishonest inspection will prevent me from returning. Initially pleasant to work with. The salesman was friendly and they gave me a free inspection. I went to another shop to compare. This dealership told me some work was critical when the next shop said it was not even a low threat(I gave them the report). On top of that, they damaged a lug nut(cross threaded) and now it'll cost me $200 to replace. I do 80% of my maintenance at different Lexus dealerships(I move frequently) and this is concerning how dishonest this place was. I pay extra at the dealerships to get a honest inspection and quality work. Needless to say, I will not return and will recommend against this particular location.
Just purchased a RX model from Putnam. My overall experience is great and I would highly recommend Putnam Lexus to anyone who is interested in a Lexus vehicle. They are prompt to inquiries, provide excellent service and are very accommodating.
Worst car dealer I ever visited. Stay away if the sales person (internet manager) is Jessica and if the financial manager is Abdele.
1. Jessica will attract you to come in by a decent price for a car that is not available, then suggest you to buy another available car without too much discount.
2. You may even not meet Jesscia because she is work from home for most of time.
3. Financial manager Abdele is very rude. I feel he even discriminates Asians somehow. If you have to buy a Lexus from this dealer, deal with another financial manger named David. He is a very nice person.
4. Overall this Lexus dealer is a very small one without too many inventory. It's not a good place to find a particular Lexus you want.
A good and mostly uneventful experience in terms of the car maintenance service, everything was clearly explained and there were no hidden costs. Really liked the in/out personal transfer to work.
Go see Robert at Putnam Lexus! Most helpful and genuine car salesman we ve ever worked with! Not pushy, listens to your needs and delivers! Won t go anywhere else from now on :)
Fred Young is very positive and earnest in his service work. This world needs more of Fred Young's attitude in this fast-paced (sometimes unsatisfied, greedy) Bay area.
Putnam Lexus in redwood city is genuinely some of the best costumer service I have ever experienced getting my car serviced. I have continued to bring my car back to get serviced at this dealership year after. If you have a Lexus and you live In the peninsula you must switch if you already haven't Just ask for Fadi he will assist you with everything you need .
I have never had such a great experience at a dealership before. Alex was a great sales representative. No hassaling, or hard selling. I would recommend, Lexus Putnam for all your vehicle needs. I would recommend Alex, if you are planning on getting a vehicle.
What an awesome, easy, friendly, helpful experience! From the time I walked into the dealership, until I walked out with my leased new vehicle, all the staff and sales people at this dealership were so pleasant to work with. I got 5 star service! I will buy another vehicle from them and I would totally recommend them.
From the moment I was greeted right after pulling in to the Putnam Lexus Service area, I felt good knowledge about my car and good care was at hand. The waiting area gave me fast Internet and a table and plug so I could work easily. Fad I found me and kept me informed and was personable and of course, thorough. I have bought several cars here and love the service, too. They really make me feel like family. My car was gleaming after a wash, and was vacuumed. I highly recommend Putnam Lexus!
Sales person deceived us, sold us a car which was not as we had been promised. Dealership did not care at all about customer satisfaction, truth, ethics. All they wanted was to make the deal no matter what. We wrote to the owner and he never responded.
They are very unethical. go anywhere else. We greatly regret having bought from them.
Wanted to buy a car, had payment details ready. Agent told me to postpone meeting two days later. While annoying, wasn't a big deal. I stopped my car searching because I found the vehicle I was determined to purchase. Today is now the day to go in, I just recieved information that the car will now take two more weeks to be completed, essentially wasting my time and efforts. When confronted, the agent responded very unprofessionally shifting the blame onto me for not being patient enough. When I used the analogy, if you order food, do you expect it to come that night or two weeks from now? The agent proceeds to make excuses and shift the blame on me. This dealership lists cars that aren't even close to being ready and I'm sure have already wasted 100's of customers time already. DO NOT BE A VICTIM
Service done as promised in the time stated. Leaving with a clean car most appreciated. Fadi, service manager explained and rated service issues that need to be done on a scale of 1 to 3. As my car is quite old, I will work my way through the issues needed to be repaired from the most urgent to those that can wait. Very satisfied with the service at Putnam.
I wanted to share my experience about Putnam Lexus in Redwood City CA. I have had a bad experience sense I bought my 200T/NX in 2017. I will focus on the last encounter at Putnam Lexus.
On 6/20/18, I took my car in because I felt like it was lagging and the navigation screen will go dim. So then again I reached out to the service department and they paired me up with Gordon, a senior service representative. They said that he is very experience and he will be able to address my concerns. At first, he was very nice to me, answering all my questions and helped as much as he could. He talked to me about some of his personal problems, he commented that he likes to have a good relationship with his customer and he always gives them a great experience. He was mentioning some names of his co-workers that he does not trust with his customers. Lastly, he mentioned that if I receive an email from Lexus on how his service was, he would like me to give him a 10/10 because lower would not count. At that time I did not think nothing of it. That same day, he asked me how the pulling to the right was. He was mentioning about the first problem the car had. I told him that it was still pulling slightly, but I think I was getting used to it. There was nothing else they could do for this problem anyways. He told me that Lexus came out with something that will help with the shifting to the right. So his plan was for me to bring in the car next week to address both problems. I thought that was a great plan, I left the dealer very satisfied with Gordon. I was very happy to find someone that addresses my concerns in a professional way. I felt like he puts his costumers first, it was a great feeling. That all changed in a flash. I brought the car in the following week as directed by Gordon. When I entered his office, I can already feel a negative vibe coming from him. He asked me for my keys, he wanted to see the tires. He comes back to the office and tells me that I hit my rims again. I know I did not, so I asked him to show me. What he was pointing at was a splash of oil from the tires. I ran my fingers through what he thought was a dent or scratch and I showed him my finger that was full of oil from the tire. He did not say anything and walked into his office. I felt like he did not want to help me so I told him you told me to bring my car in, but I feel like you are inconvenience and bothered . I then told him that if he does not want to help me, I could go to another dealer. He got very defensive and told me go ahead go to another dealer! His face looked very mad, I told him that he did not have to act this way with me. He then got up out of his chair and told me I had enough of you, get out of my office! I was in shock, I asked him why he is treating me this way and he said I had enough of you. I asked to talk to the manager and he responded you know where his office is, leave my office now! I started to cry, and no one wanted to help me until another customers got help. I was not feeling well at that time, I had my son with me. A manager from a different department came out, took me to an office and she then told me that she was going to have the general manager come in. I explained the situation to him. He told me that Gordon was having some personal issues and having a hard time. That is definitely not a reason to treat his costumer this way. I felt like they did not care about what happened and he was just excusing Gordon because he was having personal problems. I am a very understanding person, but this experience affected me tremendously. I just cannot understand how someone can treat a human being this badly. I am sharing my customer service experience because I would not like anyone to be treated as badly as I was.
The buying experience was smooth, friendly, and professional. The salesperson did his best to get us into a new car - I'll definitely buy from you again!
David M. and the rest of the team were very helpful and knowledgeable about the vehicle I purchased. It was a great experience. The transaction went smoothly. I would highly recommend Putnam Lexus.
Highly professional, courteous, timely. In one word: impeccable. Cannot wish anything better. This is my second Lexus, (both from the same dealership), wouldn't consider any other brand when it is time to get an upgrade/new car, hopefully in few years.
Excellent service and staff! Comfortable waiting lounge. Free WiFi for guests to work while waiting. Free coffee and other drinks, including vending machines.
Greatly improved customer service overall from a couple of years ago. Then, I had a bad experience with check in when they kept checking in cars behind mine even though I had an appointment and I was on time. I waited 30 minutes and even went into service desk and asked to be checked in and was told someone would be with me but never happened. I left without car being checked in. I left a poor yelp review.
This time, check in was quick and efficient. Many more check in people on hand. They had my part that was ordered, they provided a loaner car with no charge, their price for this repair was significantly less than Serramonte s price and the work was done well and I had my car back in a few hours.
Great service, price, experience. I will update my yelp review to reflect this improvement.
Hello Everyone, I must share my story. I am looking for a car, but not exactly sure what I want to buy this time around. I thought I wanted a CT200H - F and went to see one. I met David Mehtabuddin, he showed me the car and we took a test drive too. He was very nice and knowledgeable. Now the important part, as we were walking through the show room a totally different car caught my eye. I left and came back the next day to drive that car. I loved the interior, but it was completely different than the CT. Anyway, long story short, David and his finance director, Josh, really worked hard to make this car work for me. They did everything; factory discount, dealership discount and other tweaks to make the deal work. After all that, I realized I really wanted to stay in my original direction and seek the right CT200H - F. Both guys were very professional, understanding and polite even after I said NO after hours of work! So, there you go...they are good, honest, and nice too. Most sincerely, Doug G.
The staff at Putnum are fantastic. We've leased multiple cars over the years and have found the sales process to be quite smooth and not pressured. We have had all of our Lexi serviced here as well and are always greeted graciously and kept up to date on status.
The service department is great! Fadi Soudah has been my service consultant for a while now, and I can't thank him enough for taking great care of my vehicle.
Price is steep on the labor charges. $230+ for a 80K mile service and most of it went into labor. I don't have much experience on market rates or dealer rates but it'll be hard for me to come back for service.
Staff is friendly and helpful but nothing out of the expectation.
Fred Young is the most efficient, nicest and professional service advisor! He is always so thorough and helpful with my car. My experience was great! I always appreciate the car wash and detail. It would be great if you offered your patrons who wait for our car, miss the bagels and snacks! But evetything was super! If people were taking advantage, maybe try again by leaving a note to those please take one, be considerate of others ? Just an idea :)
I had the worst experience visiting Putnam Lexus. Went there ro checkout nx200t but the sales guy didnt even had the courtesy to show us the car and explain about features. How can one buy the car if sales guy is not around to talk to. We just walked out of the store. Too bad experience.
I thought it was just a casual visit and a test drive, but end up buying my first RX at Putnam during my first visit . David Jenner is definitely a good salesperson, friendly and helpful. He and Jerry at Finance who is fun and professional as well made the complex and lengthy process much easier for us. Good job!
The Sale man tells lie about the transmission of Lexus UX200. I asked him about the transmission of that car, and he told me that is the 10 speed Automatic. When I checked the information of UX200, it showed that this car is 10 AT with CVT. That s the completely different transmission.
Victor-Bob-Tony is the team to beat! Best Customer service ever...
We came in doubtful that my son will get his dream car but he walked out driving a Lexus IS200 FRSport within 4 hours.
Victor's welcoming attitude and positive vibes together with his Manager Bob's full support in working the nos. did it all! Finance Manager Tony as well stayed late to work with us the papers that needed to be signed with no sign of late night fatigue.
Thank you guys for making it possible! Your positive attitude is contagious as we gave our full support to my son AD in getting his car.
We just planned to come in and take a look at a traded in LS 460 from Putnam Lexus. The staffs esp. David Jenner is very professional, courtesy and friendly. At the end of the visit we purchased the car right away because it is a great car with fair price. I will definitely come back to this dealer for maintenance services and future Lexus car purchasing.
Oh man, Patrick was awesome, the deal was so good that we bought 2 Lexus Es350!!! I told all.my friends and family to go and buy bew cars since the deal was awesome, thank yoi Patrick I am pretty sure that we will stop by to buy our 2019Rx 2019 next year. Patrick and I communicate through email, first he gave me all the deals and numbers and we negotiate over email, he just told me "trust me" and i did, we got a 44500 msrp car so cheap that I dont't think Hyundai or Honda can offer it for their cheapest cars!!!! Next day we bought second ES350! Thank you again Patrick
Khalid was very helpful and straightforward. Negotiating with car dealers is NOT my favorite activity but Khalid made it very clear what he could offer very early in the process. I'll be back for the next car!
I can't emphasize enough what a joy it is to work with our service advisor, Fadi. In addition the the already accommodating staff at Putnam, he personalizes and makes the experience at Putnam pleasant and as stress free as possible!
The service center was clean. The lounge area was large, clean, and had free Wi-fi. And there was a coffee/tea station and a large TV to watch. However, I did not know the process for checking in. I saw other cars in front of me, but no one approached me or my vehicle while I was waiting. So I asked a gentleman who happened to be working in his office and he guided me to Joe, who was very professional and courteous. At that point, I was told it would take about 2 hours but probably less since it was a 5,000 mile service. It actually did end up taking the entire 2 hours. They did wash my car, but somehow missed the large black smudge on the front right passenger door. Whatever it was, it was sticky, which might be why it didn't come off completely. In retrospect, I wish I would have taken the shuttle home instead of waiting. But...next time...
Putnam does a good job of servicing my vehicle. I always get a comprehensive maintenance report unlike other Lexus dealer shops. The customer lounge is smaller than others, but the good snack offerings make up for it. My wife and I recently stopped by shopping for our next vehicle. Other than a salesperson asking if we need help, they left us alone the whole time. I really appreciated the space they gave us.
Unless you look old enough for a Lexus you won't be treated with respect, but rather that you are wasting the sales guy's time. This is even through you are ready to buy.
My experience was the BEST! my sales person was so professional and easy going. . I acually enjoyed the experience of buying a car! not many people can say that! I will definately be back to Putnam Lexus for my next purchase. for sure. if I could give 5 stars I would. . I think I will anyway * * * * * *
I sold my 2008 GX470 to Putnam Lexus 2 weeks ago and got a check for $15,000 of which we agreed upon. I deposited the check on Dec.17th. I just received notice that the check is being returned unpaid and my account is being charge a $10.00 fee. I didn't have a problem when I sold my Toyota to 101. I got a check before I left. Putnam made we wait 3 days and now the check has been returned no good. Whats going on at Putnam? Are they having financial problems? They have had my Lexus 10 days and I have not been paid??
I bought my pre owned Mustang from Putnam Lexus the middle of May this year (2015), it was my first buying experience of a car. I have had a new Mustang before this, however I leased it.
I knew absolutely nothing about buying car's. I have always heard really bad things about used car salesmen, and dealerships. I was told that I should not go and try to get this car without a man present to help me out. Of course I am a very stubborn woman, and I figured that I could do this on my own.
I learned how to purchase, inspect, ask questions, research and negotiate.
I reached out to a number of dealership's for this Mustang. I knew that it would be a challenge for me to find exactly what I wanted, which was around a 2005, coupe, 5 speed manual shift within my budget.
One day I got a call from Patrick at Putnam telling me that he had an 2006, and could I drive a manual shift. This made me laugh, I told him that I could. He quoted me a price, this was out of my budget, so I had to turn it down. After a few call's, I received one from Lorenzo (I hope that I got his name right). Lorenzo is a manager (I think), he worked with me, and got the car to within my budget. I was really happy, and totally "over the moon". We set at time for the next day, for me to come in and see the car. I was surprised that we could make the deal over the phone.
I already had gotten the car financed through the bank, and just needed to see, inspect and tell them that I wanted to get it. The bank FedExed over night the check to Putnam.
I arrived an hour early, this is because I was coming from Mountain View, and had no idea as to where this was, and did not want to be late. From the moment that I arrived at Putnam Lexus, I was made to feel special, and they could not have been nicer. We were laughing, and joking. I was not afraid, I was very relaxed. I told them that I was there to see the Mustang, and that I was early. They were so-o-o nice and helpful, there were actually 3 people helping me. I saw the car and asked if I could start to inspect it, they said sure, and answered all of my questions. The salesman Robert (I think) even got me a readout of what work had been done on the car. I only found a couple of minor things that needed attention.
I bought the car as is, there was a sign in the window that said "buy as is", I also signed the paper's saying that I was buying as is. I asked, to be sure I understood, that if anything is wrong, it will be on me, I was told yes.
They filled my car up with gas, the car was very, very clean, they even paid for my 2016 tag's, and delivered the car to me before I left for work the next day. :-) One drove the car, and another followed him in a car to take him back. I was not charged for any of this.
I had my garage to check the car out, and they said that it was good. My b/f that has a 09 Mustang tried it out, and said that it is really smooth. I have been driving it for over 3 month's, and it is running just fine.
Everyone that see my car, tell me that I got a really good deal. :-)
I do keep in touch with Patrick, to let him know how the Mustang is doing, as I told him that I would.
I told them that I had read negative reviews, however, I wanted to go and check it out.
Bottom line is, I'm not just happy I'm thrilled. If I could give Putnam Lexus more than 5 star's I would. :-) ;-) :-)
The service at Putnam Alexis has deteriorated dramatically since the old days 7-10 years ago. Now you get put on hold indefinitely, and when there is a recall and you bring your car in, they promise you that they will call you in about four weeks when the parts have come in. No call after four weeks, no call after eight weeks, no call after 10 weeks. When I finally called them, I was told that there was a backlog and things were delayed but no one could give me a timeframe when the delay would be resolved and when the parts would arrive. No concern about the issue and no willingness to do further research to try to get me a more definite time for him. Just a complete lack of concern and interest. I was again told that I would be called when the parts arrive. I asked "Why should I have any confidence that I will receive a phone call this time since no one has called me for 10 weeks since I originally registered for the repair?". No good answer. I asked to talk to the head of service and was routed to a voicemail. While the gentleman's name was provided on the vmail recording, it did not say that he was the head of service and he himself seems to be too important to even record his own voicemail and title and had has an admin asst do so. What a change from the good old days Gene Gamasch (sp?) was the head of the Service Dept.and when they were ranked at the top of Lexus dealers nationally! BTW, we also shopped there for a new or used Lexus or about a year ago. The sales experience was a major disappointment as well. Did not feel that the sales people were honest, and we were given incorrect information about legroom in the different models (big kids and husband). Luckily we had brought a tape measure. Sales guy had simply lied to us and then tried to cover up his mistake. For the record we have owned 3 Lexuses and bought two used from Putnam many years ago. Experiences were good then, and we even brought our cars down from SF to have them serviced at Putnam. Repair prices are ridiculous now and service is terrible. Stay away now!!
One of the best car buying experience. One would be lucky to have Joshua and David as the sales person . They made the entire process quite simple. John was great in explaining the technical aspects of car. These guys stayed back after 7 and ensured everything thing was complete. I have brought multiple cars in last few years but these guys are quite awesome . Cheers
The service at this particular location in Redwood City has always been outstanding. I've been helped by the service advisers Fred and Val, both of whom have been exceptionally attentive and careful about my needs. I only get my Lexus serviced here because it's been so great! I definitely recommend getting either one of those guys to help you.
Nice dealership...a little outdated, very courteous staff... just no refreshments and snacks in the lounge area on a Saturday morning. Common Putnam..Saturday IS when you want to look at your best. Took a start away because of that...
Takes them forever to service you even when you make an appointment. It takes the service advisor 30 mins to attend to you and that too after you catch hold of someone and tell them what is going on. The service manager has no clue what goes on on the floor. He is content with a couple of full time employees on the floor to attend to their customers. His job ends there apparently. I have had a similar experience 4 out of the last 5 times. I am not renewing my service contract with them.
Patrick Castano and Sal were great! They were both very friendly and professional. I did an online inquiry the night of and went in for a test drive the next day. Sal had filled in for Patrick since he was with another customer. I was very pleased with the car; however, I did not plan on buying it that day so I informed Patrick I will make a follow up appt. He was very professional about it and gave me his contact info instead of trying to push us. Altogether from credit app to finance, it took about 2 hours. It was a very smooth process. Patrick was very upfront about what price he was able to give, so we did not waste time negotiating. Very efficient!!
Wholesale parts manager did even want to talk about how much my sales going to be he just say that even for his best shop customer he just give 20%. Ok I just got off the phone with Serramonte Lexus How nice Steven was helping me and I got me 25% discount on my first order with them and by the way just great customer service. I guys really need to learn how to take care of a customer. So shame.
I really appreciate the great customer service I get at Putnam Lexus. I especially appreciate my service advisor, Fadi. I know I pay a bit more to have my car serviced at the dealership, it is worth it. I have a loaner and am in and out in minutes- no disruption to my day at all. And Putnam does have promotions for discounts on service that really help.
