Everyone was very nice and helpful. I appreciated the Courtesy shuttle service. The waiting rooms are well supplied with refreshments. If I had to complain, it would be that when I get the car back, some of my familiar settings in the car have been changed.

We are quite happy with our experience at Lexus Putnam where we got our new ES 300h Luxury. The first thing about the dealership is that they have the
right selection for us. We wanted a ES 300h luxury with Mark Levinson
audio. Within 40 mile radius from our home, only Lexus Putnam has it. On top of that, they still quoted us a good price.
We directly dealt with internet sales manager Jessica Lane, finance manager
Danny Dang and delivery specialist Ernesto. Everyone of them is friendly,
knowledgeable and highly efficient (which we really appreciate). We
communicated with Jessica on the car price and trade-in value all through
emails, attached photos and text msgs. By the time we got to the dealership,
everything was settled and in order. Jessica also took us to the test drive,
showed us the features of the car, and reminded us not to forget our stuff
on the trade-in car. Danny made the signing of the forms extremely fast and
he was not pushy at all in presenting the optional offerings. Ernesto was
quite patient in further explaining features to us. For one thing, he took
the time and helped us pair both of our phones, helped us set up a radio
station. All this makes buying the car more of a pleasure than a lot of
stress. We will most likely come back to Putnam for our next lexus.

Almost every Putnam Lexus employee to whom I've spoken is grumpy or sarcastic. Here's a rundown of what one might expect in dealing with Putnam Lexus.
Getting to speak to an actual person regarding a service issue is difficult. When I called in to leave a message for my service rep, Richard (great guy, but he doesn't return voicemails), I can wait multiple days and never get a call back. In fact, I've left voicemails for three separate issues over the past two years and have gotten contacted back once for a partial resolution. Because it was so difficult to get a hold of Richard, I asked to speak to any service advisor, and instead got only the voicemail system four times on four separate days at varying times of day. Then, when I called back and insisted to speak with ANY service rep who's actually available, I'm instantly transferred to an available service rep (odd, considering that I had previously gotten voicemails four times) named Rex. When asked a simple technical question about what kind of tool his technicians use, Rex didn't know. That's fine. But what wasn't fine was his response. Rather than offer to follow up to find out the answer, Rex responded with a very sarcastic answer along the lines of, "I don't know the answer to that question, I'm a service advisor. We don't bring the technicians to the phones here." as if to suggest that have somebody with technical knowledge answer a phone is out of the question.
Their online system is a nightmare. I once scheduled an appointment online and received two emails from two different Putnam Lexus employees confirming different times, which pretty much forces me, as a good citizen, to follow up to try to tell them that one of the times was incorrect. No response to that email, of course, and good luck trying to get somebody on the phone.
They consistently have charged or quoted higher on parts and labor than every other shop from which I've received service quotes, including other Lexus service shops.
* 90,000-mile service? Cost from Putnam Lexus: about $600. Actual labor performed? oil change, oil filter, drain plug gasket, engine air filter replacement, A/C filter replacement, cabin air filter replacement, key battery replacement, engine wash (although the engine didn't need "washing"). For each of the parts, Putnam Lexus charged a 33% to 124% markup over getting the parts directly from Amazon. I get that they need to make a profit, but charging $90 for a less-than $40 cabin air filter? Nice margins, Putnam.
* Reprogramming an ECU after replacing TPMS sensors? Quote from Putnam Lexus: $195 and 2 hours of labor JUST to reprogram the ECU. Putnam's quote for parts and labor was over $800. Actual cost: parts and labor for $310 and ECU programming is free from some tire shops, involving less than five minutes of walking around the car with a handheld computer.
... and perhaps the most ridiculous ...
* Touchscreen not responding to touch inputs? Quote from Putnam Lexus: over $3,000. Actual cost: $15, a YouTube video, and a half-hour of simple labor. PM me if this is happening to you, and I'll send you relevant links to save yourself $3k.
Although they are the only Lexus dealer on the mid-Peninsula, I'd highly recommend going with any of the other Lexus shops in San Jose, Serramonte, Oakland, or Fremont. In general, their customer service is not customer-oriented and doesn't hesitate to make a caustic or defensive comment, rather than to try to understand the customer's issues.
Plenty of used cars, not much selection on new cars. Renovation making the cars in display dusty.

I bought my car from Putnam Lexus back in 2007 and have been taking it there for maintenance very since. The service department staff has always been prompt, friendly and incredibly informative every time I bring my car in for service. The lobby is clean and comfortable, and they have a great little snack and drink bar to pick at while you are waiting! I have been to other Lexus dealerships and while they were nice, they paled in comparison to Putnam. Keep up the good work over there!

I bought my car from Putnam Lexus, and take my car there for regular maintenance at the Service Dept.
I feel this place has both excellent management as well as talented and caring employees. They have a culture of assuring their customers are very happy with their whole experience servicing their car. My service manager Mario was very efficient and professional, keeping me updated via text message throughout the day on the progress of my car's maintenance. The loaner care was clean and almost new. And when I came to pick up my car, a random technician came up to me asking if I needed help loading my stuff from my loaner back to my car.
Please keep up the great and caring service.

I went to the dealership just to look around. Patrick assisted us and gladly showed us around without any pressure. I became really interested with the 2016 Lexus NX200T AWD but it was out of my set price range. After a few cups of coffee :) He invited us in his office and gave us a very good price for the exact car that I could not resist! Long story short we ended up buying the car and to make the deal sweeter it came with Lifetime powertrain warranty!!!
After about a week we came back just to look around (again)...as soon as Patrick saw us he welcomed us even though we told him we're not buying a car. He still showed us around and discussed prices on the RCF and RC350 F that I like because wife already got the NX200T.

I brought in my 2016 RX 350 for a 35K service. This is my first Lexus and also my first time at Putnam. Everyone was very professional, courteous, and customer service oriented, especially my service consultant Ben Nino.
They go the extra mile to make sure you're happy. A couple of other employees from the service department said they'd been with Putnam Lexus for 20+ years. That tells you a lot.
Staff doesn t seem to like their job much. Little attention was paid; lacking curtesy. Comparing with all other dealers I ve visited in the Bay Area, I d recommend anyone to visit other dealers instead. Any will be better than this one.
