Edit: I am adding a star because they finally fixed their mistake. This company would prefer I remove my review, but I can't in good conscience do that. As I said before the people you talk to on the phone are very polite. They never had a bad attitude, but that doesn't make up for the fact that it took me leaving a bad review to get my situation resolved. To me that says this company cares about their public image before good service. Obviously I still have my warranty and it has a couple more years on it. If I receive better service in the future I will consider changing my review, but until then I advise potential buyers to be wary. Some people seem to have great experiences with this company while others are stuck in situations like mine or even worse.
If I could leave 0 stars I would. Find another warranty company or just pay for the work done on your car yourself, since that is exactly what this company has made me do. I had work done on my car over a month ago. I used my warranty for the first time and the company gave my garage the run around for over a half hour. I ended up having to pay for the work to get done myself and wait for the company to refund me for the work they were supposed to pay for. Two weeks later I get a check that is missing a $100 worth of work that they were supposed to pay for because the company misfiled my paperwork claiming I have a $100 deductible that I don't have. I sent in proof that I don't have a deductible and had to call the company multiple times to find out if they were fixing their mistake. I finally received an answer that they had fixed my paperwork, but now it has been weeks since I was told I was being refunded my money and still nothing. Now this company isn't answering any of my calls. I have even gone so far as calling the dealership I bought my car and my warranty from and he has contacted the company to get this situation fixed. Unfortunately nothing has been changed and I am still being ignored.
Overall, communication is terrible. They never call you back, never update you on anything, and leave you with a false sense of reassurance every time you finish talking to someone. I genuinely hate getting short with people. I always try to be understanding that there are things I'm probably not seeing behind the scenes, but this service has just been terrible. People are polite, but clearly aren't getting their jobs done. You'd be better off paying for the work to be done on your car yourself than dealing with the headache this company will give you.

We purchased a warranty through this company about two years ago when we purchased our son a 2006 Hummer H3. Unfortunately the Hummer came down with several issues a couple of months ago, many parts, some major, had to be replaced. I could never in words describe the credit that Steve deserves from us on handling this repair. Things were alittle bumpy with the representative when we first called, but once Steve took over, it was smooth sailing! He handled everything for us with the repair shop, and went above and beyond in the customer service department as well. I would highly recommend Pro Guard Warranty company to anyone that is looking for a company that they can rely on, and that will handle their claim very efficiently! I purchased a warranty through a dealer. The dealer swore that ProGuard isn't like other warranty company.
Several months after purchase, my car started acting up. I called the ProGuard and they suggested that I take it to their partnership shop (Aamco). The shop told me that my catalytic converter needed to be replaced, and the shop also told me that they will arrange with ProGuard all the bills. Two days later, I recieved a call from Aamco saying that ProGuard doesn't cover that.
I paid $1095 for my warranty, and the repair was $1100. I will never purchase warranty from ProGuard.
Not to mention, after being told that they don't cover that part/labor. I called them, and asked why wasn't it cover, and the CSR put me on hold for fifteen minutes. I hung up and called them again, and they would not answer, I was told they had a specific representative to handle my claim. I left him a voicemail and it took him three days to get back to me.
When I finally spoke to him, all he had to say was "I don't know what to tell you, but we do not cover that repair."

Company is a total RIPOFF. They send out their inspector to find ways to deny your claims. When they are not successful with finding anything to deny the claim they then require you to allow another inspection. That requires you to pay for your mechanic to breakdown your vehicle and you too occur additional expense when they deny your claim.
I would recommend you stay far away from this company total waste of your money.

Buyer beware!!!!!! Do not purchase this extended warranty is covers nothing at all. The wording in the policy is vague you will waste your money. I brought my car into the shop and it has a bad oil leak, come to find out the warranty won't cover it and that's ridiculous as the repair will cost $700.00. I never used the warranty ever since I got it over a year ago and you mean to tell me they won't cover it. I called into customer service and inquired on the status of my claim and the gentlemen on the phone laughed as he told me it wasn't covered. Never again will i purchase this type of warranty from these people again on my next vehicle. They word there warranty into thinking you covered when in fact you are not. I've learned from these types of warranties.

They do have good people, who respond to your calls or concerns, but the processes laid out are extremely lacking quality, control and customer orientation. After paying hefty money for a car warranty, you ultimately end up in paying for repairs and rentals too unfortunately. I will not recommend doing business with this organization.

I bought this warranty for a span of three years for my used car. Was not able to use the warranty for even a single repair. I was not able to claim for even $1 from ProGuard during the whole tenure, for over $10K spent on the car repair. Had to finally sell the car after bearing all the repair expense on my own, even before the tenure ends. Would not recommend ProGuard to anyone and also caution about going for it.

When my original car warranty expired, one of the limited options presented to me was the ProGuard warranty for my 2013 Chevy Traverse. About 2 weeks ago, my transmission blew on a Friday. After waiting all weekend and all-day Monday for the dealer to take some type of action, I opted to give ProGuard a call on Tuesday morning. As soon as I was connected to the adjuster, Steve, the ball started rolling. As soon as I introduced myself over the phone, Steve knew the car I was calling about. He stated he was going to call the dealer directly, see what needed to be done, and would be in touch. Within 20 minutes, Steve called back, knew exactly what needed done, and was working on a replacement part. He called back a few times that day updating me on the progress and had found a transmission to replace mine. After finding that, he even found a better one and was able to have it transported to Pittsburgh to start the work earlier than anticipated. It was great because my dealer was telling me I was going to be out of the car for weeks because GM couldn t get parts in due to the strike.
I have to say, I was hesitant and was ready to be told because of this, or that loophole, that this wouldn t be covered under the ProGuard warranty. To my surprise, Steve was able to work with the dealer on negotiating their labor rate, had the transmission shipped in, and had everything wrapped up with me only owing the deductible. NEVER have I had such efficiency even from the direct GM dealer. Had it not been for Steve, my car would probably still be sitting in the lot waiting for GM to do something. I would ABSOLUTELY purchase another warranty from ProGuard. Steve was amazing to work with!!

Well, this company saved me! Brake calipers went bad, they took care of me, no haggle. My engine blew next! Not only did they replace it but also let me get the engine of my choice....wow! Then o2 sensor went bad and again they stepped up. Even the shops were super impressed. I highly recommend this warrant company!!

As a sales and finance manager at a used car lot, I cannot stress enough how important it is to have an extended Service agreement. Unfortunately not all extended warranty companies are the same and it has become quite normal for extended warranty companies to not cover failed components. This is not the case with PROGUARD and it is refreshing to say that they actually stand by their word and if I ever had any complication for a client I was able to call my rep and have it handled within minutes. This is a family owned company and they bend over backwards to make sure that your mechanical breakdown needs are met. I have one of these personally on my Acura and when my power steering rack and pinion went out PROGUARD paid for it with no hesitation including the diagnosis. This company is nothing shy of great. I wanna give a special shout out to our rep Chuck who takes very good care of us and is easy to get a hold of and is very flexible with helping my clients choose the best coverage option that is right for them. Great job PROGUARD highly recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable high-quality extended Service contract!!
