Preferred Home Care of NY Review

The first time I heard about preferred I thought they was professional but it s the opposite. First they are rude and they don t care. The only thing they care about is for the HHA to work but they never pay you on time. I had a case where they did not pay for 3 weeks. The only reason I m still working is because I love my patients. It take them hour to answer the phone and some of the staff hang up on you

This Agency is horrible !! Cant wait to find a better one for my son.. they never answer your calls! Honestly I DONOT recommend this agency at all... Bad and poor service on the other note I LOVE my health aid - I hope I can take her with me to another agency

I work with company for four years and they let me go cuzI left the patients home because the patient home had bed bugs they didn't care so they let me go then sometimes they don't have no one to relieve you when u want to leave try to speak to them about it but they still let me go as much years I work with these people

This Agency is HORRIBLE. THEY donot pay you for all the hours you work smh. You sign a contract to get paid every week. They pay you when they feel like it 2 or 3 weeks late SMH. They are very unprofessional&unorganized.THEY SHORT MY PAY CHECK 3TIMES BUT THEY GOT THE RIGHT ONE....

This is a terrible agency. They don't pick up the phone and when they do they transfer you to so many coordinators who knows nothing and they will never pick up. You work for them and they don't pay when you called them, payroll department saying how coordinators need to add you in the calendar. Terrible service. Today is Thursday and since Monday I am trying to get to them to get my pay check and up to today I can't get my pay check. When you called they telling you this coordinator on lunch oh that coordinator called in sick we will send an email and called you back and they never would. It's about time I called in the department of labor to fully investigate into this agency and they way their treating the aids. People work hard for their money and when it's time to pay they keep transferring your calls. I called this company 17 times for today and still haven't got an answer for my payroll. It's only a month I am working with this company and to face such tragic and horrible serivice from this company I regret it. From Jessica, Sofia, Wanda and so many more I speak to and yet they can't assist me. When asked to speak to someone senior I was told to hold on the line and they will never come on back . The elder receptionist at the desk she didn't wait for you to finish talking but transfer your call to a number that goes on voice mail.

I like working with this agency I just would like to get paid

I m working with preferred and i completed almost 4 months. Staff are so friendly and helpful. I never face any difficulties while contacting with my coordinator.

This the worse company to work with, first off all they don t pay every week they only pay you when they want and their stuff are mad rude they hang up the phone on you. My coordinator was sheredon who didn t know what she was doing. The lady called 2hrs before my shift was over to tell I wasn t supposed to be there. I wonder why she couldn t call earlier and I still did not get pay for that day August 24 and today is November. I don t recommend no one to go here for work.

The coordinatorsame doesn't let u know when there's any changes with the aids. So far everyone I have spoken to is very friendly n respectful.

This place sucks really should be shut down the aide haven't been paid in 3 weeks You never meet the coordinator and they give you the run around smfh but they do have some good home health aides that I really feel bad for

I been having issues with payroll they don't pay me on time. They tell you they mailed my check for 2 weeks i have been waiting. When you call payroll no one answers, when you go to there Brooklyn office to speak with someone they leave you in the waiting area and no one attends you. The staff there is to busy buying breakfast and taking photos of each other. When you speak with the director Jeff and he does not solves the issue. He is just like the staff and does not fix the issue. They are very unprofessional and very nasty with their staff and clients.

Went in to help my mother apply. Receptionist who is a black lady was horrible to me and my mother. She yelled at us to sit down without asking us what we came in for. Paula then called me up and asked me if I needed help and then got someone to help me apply for a job right away. She was very helpful and respectful unlike the black lady next to her. As I sat there I realize this is how she provides customer service, is obvious she has no patients and needs to retire!!!

Does not answer phone calls of clients and employees. The lack of communication leads to many employees working when they are not supposed to because their coordinator failed to communicate when cases will end.
Worked 7 days without pay and spent many hours on the phone with various supervisors, coordinators and payroll. All claimed that I will be paid and many weeks later I still have not received pay for hours worked.

Looking to start a class action against these crooks. If you've been robbed please reach out.
Contact 311 and file complaints with the labor department and BBB. If we can get a class action going to shut them down also that would be great.

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCE SHOULD YOU WORK HERE. Not worth the hassle to get paid for your hard work. SHUT THEM DOWN!!!!

Preferred truly cares about their clients and employees well being that work hard to provide th quality care to each and everyone of their clients.
The main office provides a warm welcoming atmosphere so you can feel appreciated.
If your looking for a good Agency to work for and to be treated and feel appreciated Preferred is the one.

I don t understand how this company works for the past 2 days I been trying to get a hold of a live person to tell me more about the PCA training classes and they have me on hold for 20 to 30 minutes just to pick up n switch me over to a voice mail to leave a message it s ridiculous so many ppl that want work there nobody can answer a simple question with the correct information.. it doesn t look good for this company will continue looking for another training class that can answer and assist me

This place is very unprofessional they sent me to a patient that spoke no English at all then blamed me for it also they constantly messing with my check worst place ever

I would like to know who is responsible for this agency who the Aide must talk to when there is a problem because I have to go through 4,5 & 6 Cordinators and you never get to the point about what you call for first they have an attitude when you ask for their name as the nurse tell you to do at in service .I have glaucoma in my eyes and diabetes with this virus and smoking family member

Was supposed to mail to me from March 20th every time I talk to to somebody from the agency they sending a email to the supply department which never reach until April 13th how you going to call me April 16 after 7 pm to say I have a no show no call because I was on the schedule for today please treat the aides right it's not easy when we have to leave our family to go out there night or day

If I could give this company a 0 star i would!!! This place is sooo unprofessional! My uncle was in the citipop program and the citipop coordinator NEVER knew what was going on with HR! Thier communication is off, very low grade. Elementry students can do a better job! HORRIBLE

People are really dedicated to answering every patient and aides concerns as quickly as possible.

They have one office in forest hills. So every time if I need to do something with my father in law. The people who work there will help me right way. And they do listen carefully and patiently.

They love to give you incorrect pay checks. You have to keep a paper trail dealing with them. They tell you they are going to pay you and then they don t. I was a CDPAP employee and they only gave me 1 correct check in the 5 months I was there. My mother decided to go to another company and they became so upset that the coordinating supervisor is withholding pay from me. So now I have to go file a claim against them. These people are so dishonest. They go on other websites where other people leave reviews and lie and say it never happened. Don t be fooled. They bill the health care companies for your extra hours, but never pay you the money. Thank GOD I m close to my mothers case manager at her Health Care company. I hope this company loses their license and all their clients. Only people on here that are giving this company good reviews, are either out of state, or work for the company and are helping the office mistreat the aides. RUN AWAY PLEASE!! No should work under these crooks.

Horrible, horrible, horrible!!! The worse of the worse home care agency ever!! They were sending home health aides that some would not feed my mother, others have left her alone in the house and neglected my mother! Have put my mother in totally dangerous situations. My mother needs to be attended 24/7 and some of the aides put my mother's health and well being in horrible danger in totally dangerous situations. They should be investigated and shut down! It starts from the HR dept. To the directors, supervisors and coordinators! Please if you truly care about your loved ones do not let this agency care for your loved ones! Don't believe their extremely very few good reviews, now you know why they have so little and so so many bad reviews!! Trust me!!!!

This overrated posh office with inconsistent and inconsiderate staff walking all over the place is non effective they take forever to assign you to cases most of their cases are in some deplorable buildings and when you do work it takes a lifetime for you to get paid .Very unprofessional.

As a patient this agency is by far the worst sending a non-English speaking HHA to an ALS patient who has difficulty speaking for long periods of time. Is nothing but criminal negligence placing me in life threatening situation. Stay clear and report then for aide abuse both verbal and physical.

So I just started working here and I like it.one thing I have a problem is when I get cases in Brooklyn because my first patient lives in east NY and oh boy was walking to his street scary .all I saw was people smoking in his building and selling marijuana as well as women prostituting themselves. It was a scary first 3days and unfortunately i asked to remove me from his area and as his aide

Not good. Horrible management. If you ever decide to apply as coordinator on this place please think about it they are nothing but horrible and abusive. When you apply as coordinator or staffing coordinator the job is supposed to be 9am-5pm you will never end up leaving at 5pm once you are there you never know what time you will be going home. They also handed a paper to everyone who works in the office that states they can fire you for any reason or no reason and you cannot say anything. If you work as a staffing coordinator you will receive new cases on a daily basis at 4:30 or after and you must staff the case for the next day when there is no way you can cover a case less than 1 hour before you go home for the very next day. No matter how good you do your job they will exploit you and if you have to leave at 5pm which is the time you are supposed to you have to ask for permission and if you dont like it they will fire you

This agency is unprofessional they don't answer there calls at all. They want to work you hard but mess up your pay. Than when you call you gotta sit on hold for 3damn hrs. I been on hold sice 9 it's almost 12 and I'm still on hold.

The CDPAP Supervisor helped to resolve my concerns about payroll...Issues were resolved.

Its the first day with the Agency and the aide never arrived, the aid coordinator was notified by the agency who also never contacted us back. A very incompetent aide service.

It has been a great experience and more eye opener for me to be a preferred home care worker . And most importantly is helping patient regain their mobility, which is my number one priority .My client is amazing and i enjoy every bit of my job , and he is also pround of me being his home health aide.

Worst company on the planet waste of time . No professionalism & respect for employees... Payroll is terrible at pay you correctly. DONT EVEN APPLY HERE RUN FAR & FAST .

I love working with Preferred Home care of New York. I can depend on them for working hours so that I can pay my bills. I have an excellent working relationship with my coordinators and I have no problem getting information from the Administrative Office

Poor customer care. Can never speak to anyone directly. I ve been calling the past 2 weeks to have an issue resolved. Have yet to receive a callback. They re always jumping from coordinater to coordinater. Can never get a straight answer. Can never speak to a supervisor. Someone is always on vacation or on lunch break. I like the aide but might just go elsewhere.

All these positive or good reviews are management or paid reviews. Do not use this home care agency for any reason. They run their business like a call center and are hyper focused on quantity of aides and cases over quality. You will never get in touch with anyone and if you do you will run into a million excuses and whatever issues you are having will not be resolved. They re customer service is horrendous because it seems like they do not have enough people working there to tend to your family s cases they way they should. They send aides to your home that have been working all night and that I am pretty sure is illegal. The aides do not get paid the highest rates available in their areas so it makes you wonder why you would go with an agency that pays their aides less than everyone else? They never have availability and the availability they have is those aides you would never hire yourself.

This place is horrible, there aids come to your home to steal and bring their roaches from their house to yours. The coordinators are not dependable.. I believe they hire anyone from the street with out a screening. Most times you cant get through to any staff on the phone.. This agency should be shut down or staffed with people that care. I give this agency zero stars.

I've worked for this company for over 3 weeks and have not received any pay. Many of the Home Health Aides that started the same time are having the same issues. Just reported the company to the Department Of Labor to charge for wage theft, also contacted an employment attorney.

I been working for Preferred as a Personal Assistant since 2017. I had no problems with them. My client and myself are well satisfied with them.

Fustrated! My mother is elderly and needed someone to take care of her when I'm at work. The agency provided a wonderful aide. But the aide contacted me to let me know that she wont be working with the agency due to not being correctly compensated for her work.

When I contact the office to ensure that someone else will be there. They give me the run around. There is a lack of communication when they aren't able to provide someone to be there so I could make other arrangements. Preferred homecare of new York is very unprofessional and lack the care for the elderly. I don't recommend them at all.. If I could they wouldn't even get 1 star.

My first job in the state and its a great experience am having here. They have love and passion for the aide and customers. They're very reliable.

I ve been working with preferred home health care agency for 3 years. They consistently mess up your paycheck, Payrolls is always backed up with work, when you need to reach them about a patient they don t answer, but can call you if they need you for a case. Their money hungry and only case about money only. I always tell anybody who s looking for employment not to go there and think it s gonna be a easy regular job. They make you feel like being a home health aide is a terrible job. Especially how they treat their workers

Payroll for this company is a VERY BIG ISSUE
Every other week its a problem with getting paid
Time sheets have been submitted on time and yet still there's an issue
Since my caregiver has been having issues with payroll

Offices are decorated nicely. We find service poor with little communication when changes are made and home attendants care and experience vary greatly

This company is so unprofessional the lack of communication is horrible this company is like beautiful apple with a rotten inside, Ive been employed with this company only for 3 weeks and haven t receive a check since I start working for them went on cases that are horrible and in deplorable condition was turn away by patients then the agency told me I will receive travel time for me going out into the freezing weather which I did not , how can you work with a company that has a horrible clocked in service that makes no sense they have a faulty clock in system Which constantly don t work,How can you work for a company like that ,just start working for a company for three weeks and already you have an issue with your paycheck issue ?and clocking issues,come on now preference that s a unprofessional behavior, I just start working with y all and not even a month I already have payment issues that s a clearly a sign that I should run from this company . My girlfriend currently works here she just started back in August. She seems to like the agency so far. She has great pay & they're very considerate for the most part.

Barbara is a wonderful, caring aide with a lot of patience. We are so fortunate to have her taking care of our mom!!

I do not recommend working for the intake department. They have favoritism if you're not sleeping with Walter Luna he will try to make your life at the work place miserbale. He only looks out for his former girlfriend whom works in the same department as he does. He is not a team player at al. He much rather over work his team than look out for each other like it should be. His managing skills are terrible if you asked me.
Someone needs to report this to the department of labor right with me.

Haven't recieved payments for 3 weeks, did a few full in live in cases for coordinator Amanda, I brought in the time sheets, the payroll supervisor told me i would recieved payments the following friday, two fridays passed and no payments, I'm broke, I have rent to pay, I cant work because they haven't paid me for me to even buy a metro card. I'm home,depressed and sad every day waiting for payment and cant received all now. I've called the agency numerous times and no one has returned my call's, I'm losing hope.

Worst agency ever . Never get paid . My shift was on june and now is july 17 still did not get paid yet . Force to quit . Worst coordinators . No matter you call or you wait at office . Call have to wait at least half an hour and wait at office for 2 hours . Crazy day ! Please run dont work at here !

Love this agency! My grandmother has been getting serviced my preferred home care since November and she loves her aide Lydia. They have been very professional and the aide has become basically family. She s more comfortable at home now. Thank you preferred !

Preferred is good place to work and they have a lots of cases for HHA, but they need to work on there management and supervisors needs to listen to the Aides, most supervisors don t know what they are doing .

I have been trying to contact payroll for several months and still they ignore me. We are not free workers who work for free. Ignores their workers and don't pay for several days of the week for which you have to go and beg them to pay you. I have not been paid for March 14 and it's already May 11th, three months ths and still not paid,

Never in my wildest dreams would I ever have thought that the department I report to would be so inconsiderate and uncaring. I am owed over two plus weeks of pay because of technical issues within the departments....and told as recently as today I may not receive that till two weeks from now.....It is now feb 19th and I still have not received January 25 payroll...
