I've been searching for a new vehicle and Andy Pitcher has been very helpful and informative about a new dependable vehicle in my price range that meets the needs of my family. I would highly recommend him.

We had truck issues while vacationing in Grand Haven. We were at risk of having to cancel our entire trip. Marc and the Preferred GMC staff diagnosed the problem and had the truck repaired very quickly. The truck runs perfectly now and we can continue our travels with confidence. Thank you !!!
Sales Person Alicia Davis stepped up to the tee and delivered a "hole in one" on my 2019 GMC!!! She was professional and knowledgeable but if she didn't know the answer, she reached out and got the answer I was looking for. The entire encounter at Preferred GMC was very pleasant. There was no stress or pressure to buy which made my decision much easier to make. Between Alicia, Sales Manager Chuck Pelfresne and Finance Manager Brad Holwerda, this was the best buying experience I've had in my "vehicle purchasing" life! I highly recommend stopping in to see what kind of deal they can make happen for you. You won't be disappointed!
Love Preferred!! They are thorough and timely whenever I have had to bring in my Cruze. Whether it be for a repair or just something as simple as an oil change. I highly recommend them to anyone!! There service team is excellent!!
I will recommend going there. If you are looking for new or used. I will recommend you talk to Art Trevino. He is a really down to earth guy willing to put you behind your new vehicle.
This is the second lease we've had with Preferred Chevy in Grand Haven. We have always had a great experience. We've never felt pressured to complete any deal and they've always been accommodating to our requests (i.e. staying within our budget). In addition, they've been generous with either buying our personally-owned vehicle or with moving our lease forward/furnishing us a good and fair deal. After leasing for many years, we are loyal to the brand.
Went in to have our 2012 Acadia serviced, Peter in the service area was great. Went out of his way to make sure the problem was fixed. But while waiting I ended up buying a new 2014 Sierra, Jerry Sullivan was a great help with that. He made the difference in my making the purchase.
Great Experience. The sales staff went above and beyond all of my expectations of what a car lot should. Ben (Our salesman) was very professional and helpful, even after the purchase of the vehicle, which is unheard of in most cases. He helped us find the vehicle we were looking for even though it was not located on there lot at the time, and he gave us a great deal on it! Hands Down the best lot in West Michigan for service, purchasing, and selection.
Blake Born cost me $6750 while at Betten Baker and now has the same job at Preferred Chevrolet, which is still a Betten -owned dealership. I have a recall on a 2009 Impala that will have to be fixed elsewhere
In the age of multiple buying venues we went with a personal recommendation to buy our used vehicle from Preferred Buick GMC. The personal connection and care provided by Tasi through our purchase of a 2012 Chevy Equinox was priceless. Thanks Tasi and Preferred!
This was one of my best car dealership experiences I ever had. When I left there I felt like I got a deal unlike in the past at other dealerships. Austin Randolph treated me so well that I bought two new vehicles in three days from him. Great Experience. Thanks.
My husband and I purchased a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze LTZ here. Andrea was our salesperson, and she was lovely to work with. She took great care of us. Getting financed was really easy and trouble-free. My only complaint is that I wish we could have gone on our test drives by ourselves. We didn't mind having Andrea in the back seat, but my husband and I felt like we couldn't really critique the cars like we wanted to.
Update over a year later: I feel like we were sold a lemon! This car has been nothing but problems since we bought it. They apparently fired the salesperson we worked with, so that seems a little fishy.
Great service department - they always get me right in and prices are reasonable (oil change $49.99 vs. Belle Tire's quote of $149 on my 2015 GMC Sierra). Also comfortable waiting room.
Awful experience. They did not do what they said they were going to do or in the time they said they were going to. The lack of communication was impressive. And the customer service was poor.
Didn't actually buy a vehicle but as I was enjoying my Chinese food from The Fortune Cookie across the street (also 5 stars) I saw a strapping young salesman. I believe his name was Kaleb and watching him do his thing as I ate my dinner really left me with a feeling of completeness and I think that I will make this a weekly habit of eating my dinner while watching happy customers leave that lot with their new rides!
Sold me a car that was in a severe accident Frame was busted And They never disclosed to me and they knew it ! They did give me my money back yes but I had this car for a month before I noticed it doing A routine oil change but what I was getting at is I had it a month my daughter had ridden in it countless times putting her life in jeopardy and mine and any anyone else on the road and I know the knew about the damage to the Fram because there was paint marker on the frame at broken areas I wish I could copy pictures on this review to show you the damage. The most disturbing part is they have fix this car and they're selling it on there a lot and they didn't reported to Carfax for Fram damage and probably won't tell you do not buy a Dodge dart blue in Color 2014 approximately 41000 miles I would not buy any car from the lot for your safety and your children's and anybody else on the road 0 stars there goofs f them pos if you want to know the salesman's name just post on a review view salesman's name and I'll post it there goofs over there
I just completed purchase of a 2012 GMC Sierra with the assistance of Robert Corbett. Overall, the experience was fantastic. Robert went to the extreme to make sure I had the information needed to make a decision. I felt well informed on options and final costs. Robert made sure I was satisfied with the process and ultimately the vehicle I purchased, My thanks to Robert and the Preferred team.
I came in to have repairs done on my equinox before I drove to Georgia. The car was in serious trouble and the service dept suggested (strongly) that I didn't drive it. They explained the problems and why it wasn't safe. Chris spent the entire day (as did the finance guy) to get me into something else, that I could afford. The team was great! I drove to Georgia the next day in my Cruze, and loved it! "|"
I can't say enough good about how Peter Robinson helped my wife and me through a real tough time with a blowout, bent rim, suspension system damaged, alignment needing adjusting, tow truck back from Holland to Grand Haven on a Saturday (!) afternoon. He made a very difficult situation easy...for us. Kudos to Peter and to Preferred! - rlb
I have never been to a dealer that is not willing to negotiate on the price of a vehicle. When you are told that 99%+ of the people that buy a car from you pay the price that is on the sticker.... I call BS. Will not be coming back here for sure!!!
Tried to pull a fast one told us one interest rate told us to go to lunch when we came back half way through signing papers told us rate was changed. Told them forget it walked out. Next day went to Grand Rapids bough same truck better price and the interest rate we wanted
Review Updated. My previous car , the last time I went in for an oil change they told me no more than 30 minutes , took 2 hours. And they was not very friendly about it either. But I believe in second chances. So I bought a new used car from a different dealer because Preferred did not have what I was looking for. The car came with two free oil changes at the dealership of my choice. Preferred is very close to my day job so I thought I would see if anything had changed and give them another chance to do right by me. Big Mistake, It was way worse. Dropped my car off in the morning before 8am, my appointment was at 10am. Never got a call from them letting me know the status of my car or that it was ready to pick up. I called at 4pm to check the status and was told a service guy would call me back. An hour later still no call. So I called them again, still no service guy was available then either, and the girl who answered the phone was no help. So I'm stuck at work at the end of a business day and the closest ride I can call is 2 hours away. Finally Pete calls and I was told what was done to my car. When I questioned the service guy Pete about not getting a phone call , he stated that he had called both my office phone and cell phone and he left a voicemail on my cell. Being the IT guy for my company I checked all our incoming call logs and guess what, no call from him on the system. I also checked my cell phone call log...same deal no call on the log and no voicemail. What are the odds that both numbers did not log his call? So not only did he not call me, he lied and said that he did. And Pete was rude on the phone and could care less if I had a ride home or not. Didn't even ask me if he could help. I would not recommend going to this dealership until they get their service department in order because they are by far the worst I have ever dealt with. I see a lot of new people working in this service department as I have been a customer for over 6 years. These new people are clueless about customer service and shouldn't be dealing with the public. I will drive to another city and find a dealership that is willing to help their customers. Preferred Chevy in Grand Haven is a place to stay clear of unless you like rudeness and poor service. I won't even go into what else they was supposed to fixed and help me get me get done.
I went to Preferred to check out a few cars I saw online. Derrick Conkle greeted met at the door and let me look at all the cars I was interested in, and let me have a few test drives. I slept on it and decided on a car Within the same day he helped me get the one I originally wanted!
Was a really smooth buying experience. The car is perfect as can come and I would definitely recommend it to others.
It was nothing but a pleasure working with Andrew and all the guys at Preferred Chevy in Grand Haven. I wasn't certain about what I wanted, just knew I wanted something new. Ended up with my beautiful new Equinox. I love it! I will be sending all of my friends and family to see Andrew at Preferred Chevy Buick GMC! Thanks again! It was truly an easy experience!
I have leased two cars through Thurlow and Preferred Chevrolet, and I could not be more pleased with the service these people provide. Thurlow listened to everything I wanted in a car and then found it for me. He and the rest of the team at preferred made it not only a stress free experience but an enjoyable one. Thank you Thurlow for all your hard work I love my new volt.
We just purchased a 2013 Enclave from Preferred Chevrolet Buick. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Our salesman, Ben Battaglia was very knowledgeable, and helpful in selecting the vehicle which was right for us. After buying the car he spent several minutes patiently explaining how to use the equipment in the vehicle. We are very pleased with the service Ben and the dealership provided.
I went to get an oil change and they were amazing! They let me know my breaks we getting bad and in the winter of course I want to get them fixed. They fixed them at the same time as the oil change so I didn't have to make another appointment and come back later. They also gave us a ride home, called us when they were done and picked us up and brought us back to our car. The driver was wonderful! Jon was the professional that helped us and he found coupons for us to lower the price and was so nice! I would recommend them to everyone! If I could give it more stars I would.
Thurlow Weed was great in helping us purchase our car, he was very helpful and patient as we made our decision. We are soon deciding to make another purchase and will definitely be seeing Thurlow again.
Dont buy from here, and especially dont use the credit acceptance the finance company for bad credit. Its a sham you will pay EVERY $ even if the vehicle gets totalled. ALL SHADY !!
I purchased a used car from this Dealership and have not had a good experience.
Before purchasing, I asked if it had been in an accident and was told no. The Carfax also said no accidents so I had no reason to be suspicious. After having the car for 2 months, I m noticing that it has clearly been in an accident on the front passenger side. Multiple parts were damaged that I ve had to fix myself, and parts cracked/bent when looking in depth underneath the car. Before purchasing the vehicle, I asked for the incoming inspection report multiple times with the typical response, "I will send this to you later". I was inevidibly not shown until after I bought the vehicle. They sent it via email after I had signed the paperwork and left (and requested again). It showed that the car was not running when purchased by the dealership due to a blown intake. The dealership had put $3,500 into the car just to get it running. None of this had been told to me even after I asked where the dealership got the car and what shape it was in when they received it. They did mention the new tires that they had put on it... Had I known of the vehicle's past, I probably wouldn't have bought it in the first place (or at the very least purchased the extended warranty). Since I thought the car had a clean past, I did not purchase the warranty. They just told me what I wanted to hear so that I would buy the car. After driving the car for less than a month, I started noticing the issues with it (small cosmetic items, burned out lights, etc.) I was told I would get quotes for cosmetic repairs through their mechanic. Never heard back. Reached out twice more with no quotes given. Two months after I had the car I had a suspension issue and was told that it needs a major repair (~$3,000). I called to see if there was anything that could be done to help resolve my frustrations and other than apologizing, nothing was done. As of right now, I would NOT recommend purchasing a vehicle from this dealership to anyone. They have terrible customer service and, in my opinion, tell you what you want to hear so that they can sell cars.
Very helpful and kind staff. Got all my questions answered and they even gave my girlfriend a ride home when she was running late for work. I'm very please with the impala I purchased as well. Highly recommend this place! Salesman was Nathan Eagle and he was a great guy to help.
Great place! Super Friendly people, fast and dependable service. Alwalys get quality work at a fast pace plus free drinks and popcorn and you can pull right in the garage no reason the fight the cold. Deffinetly recomend that you stop in and check out there friendly atmosphere and low prices on service you can get a oil change, Tire rotation and inspection for around 50$ when belle tire is almost double that with out the friendly people cozy surounding and a kids play room !!!
In for an oil change. They did an excellent job and were fast and courteous. I have not been in since it was remodeled. It's almost as nice as the BMW guest lounge in GR.
Would recommend going to an auto repair shop rather than a dealership if you need repairs done. Preferred will cost you an arm and a leg. You will save a substantial amount of money by doing so. Freiendly people, not so friendly prices.
One thing I can not stand is a liar. A good salesman(person) is willing to tell you comfortably if something is wrong with a vehicle and not cover it up, so you can way your options. First, do not assume because I am a woman you can pull a fast one on me. Second, do not wave a vehicle in front of me like a shiny new toy and think I m not going to look past the appearance vs the bones. I will not name drop but the salesman I dealt with lied right from the get go. From how the vehicle arrived to the facility to awareness of what was wrong with the vehicle. In watching body language and tone when we arrived with a mechanic to look at the car onsite, I knew I was being fed b.s. Five minutes into our conversation I knew it was a no go on the presented vehicle. There was almost a level of desperation for this person. Lie after lie, it was almost surreal. I have bought my last two vehicles from Preferred and have had decent experiences. This experience is a game changer.
Also, as a level of respect to your community and customers, staff member should be wearing mask. This was also a disappointing.
Courteous and on time by appointment. Just an oil change and tire rotation. Only bad part was I thought GM covered the first one but it was over a year since got my truck. Apparently has to be used within a year. Thanks GM.
We just purchased a 2008 Acadia from here and Dan Benham was greate helping us out with everything we needed. Dan went above and beyond to Help me. Thank you for all your Dan.
I just purchased my new Buick Verano from Andrew Koss at Preferred Chevy Buick GMC. I could not be happier with the experience. I am not usually the type to take the time and write one of these but I want to give credit where credit is due. From start to finish Andrew helped me make my choice and then he made it affordable for me. This is my first new car I have ever owned and I will be sure to refer all of my friends and family to them. Thanks again Andrew!
The staff at preferred is excellent, Matt Daniels and Jake helped me get a great deal, out of a bad lease, low monthly payment because of promo, Brad very friendly in finance, very pleased
Brought our daughter here for her first car purchase. We ask if they could unlock the car so we could see the inside. My daughter wanted to see how it felt. Instead, this young man insisted that we go inside. We are told that he would need a DL? To look inside? "Noah" actually told our daughter that, "you can't afford this car." No credit check done. Unacceptable customer service. We brought her here with the intent of buying a new car and we left with her crying. BTW, my daughter has A+ credit and had already been pre-approved.
Robert help my wife and i get a better vehicle we told him our problem and he took us to the other dealer ship and he stayed there until we got what we want and i HIGHLY recamoned ppl there they are very good ppl there and they will help you get the vehicle u want or something better and Robert my wife and i thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Thank you so much for getting us into a vehicle that is going to be safe and dependable
The best used Silverado I have ever owned! (#3) I was worried living in Metro Detroit but Derrick and everybody at Preferred delivered right to my work in Sterling Heights, Mi. Thanks!
I took my 09 Chevy Colorado to the service dept for a ABS fault light on. They got me in the same day and quickly diagnosed the problem. Then they got me in the next day to fix it. Everybody is really nice there. As others have said, they have a comfortable waiting room with free coffee, hot chocolate, water and popcorn. They have a tv to watch and a warm fireplace on. Nice, clean repair shop. Paul was awesome both days. He worked with our extended warranty company to get my truck fixed. When I unknowingly needed more money to pay my part of the repair bill,he let me take my truck home and go back the next morning to pay him the remainder.
I purchased a 2008 Chevy Impala from Robert Corbett a few months back now. He was extremely helpful with the decision making process, also very informative and honest. It was refreshing to not be bombarded by a salesman when I arrived to the lot, he was very professional. My overall experience at Preferred Chevrolet Buick GMC was great, the salesman was super helpful and the service staff does an excellent job!
Service Advisor Mr Robinson kept me informed on my issue an found the problem very quickly. It was more work than i thought, an being Saturday was not a good day to get all the parts an installed, So Mr Robinson Talked to his Boss Mr Hubbard about the situation. They where able to set me up with a car for the week end while they finished up. I also was able to get in on the Preferred prepaid maintenance for my Truck.I always get good service from this Dealer Ship. Thank you, another happy customer. ( Good Pop Corn Too. )
Quite irritated with my recent experience with the sales center. My husband and I both inquired TO MULTIPLE people about a current special program that we saw advertised at the dealership. The sales team had ALL of our information BEFORE our appointment. We got a sitter and raced over from Muskegon directly from work to make the appointment where we believed we'd be getting a new vehicle. The sales rep put us in a new vehicle, we test drove it and we loved it. Then we started talking business and she knew beforehand that we weren't qualified for the promotion. She knew our wants, needs and limitations before the day of the appointment and still put us in a vehicle. We felt like our time was completely wasted. Will not be returning.
My husband and I went to buy a new vehicle and our salesman was Robert Corbett. I was unsure of what I wanted to purchase at the time and he delivered great customer service as well as his financial manager. I ended up walking out of there purchasing a Chevy Equinox. I am very satisfied with Preferred Chevrolet Buick GMC in Grand Haven and I will definitely purchase from them again.
Was very impressed with the service at Preferred! The best price , and service around! Every question answered! They work to find any deal for the customer, and provide excellent attention to Your vehicle, like it's Their own! Super Friendly schuttle service provided door to door! Thank-You soo much!
Couldn t be any happier with my experience with Derrick Conkle on the sales side of the business. Communicated with me throughout the day via phone so that when I arrived onsite after work my experience was quick and easy. Professional and trustworthy, went the extra mile with making sure a few items were on a we owe that other salesman probably wouldn t have worried about. When it was all said and done he met me at a gas station to fill up my new vehicle for me and shake my hand. Would definitely recommend working with him specifically, even if the vehicle you re looking at is at another Preferred site (he can transfer). Only problem with the whole experience was the Michigan Wolverine helmet on his desk but I can overlook it due to my overall positive experience. Go green!
One of the worst dealer/service center experiences ever. My mom has a lease from this dealer, and the service department won't even providing tire pricing information till they commit to purchasing the tires. Avoid at all costs, especially their service department.
I can t believe I just got a call from some condescending guy thinking talking over me was the right way to turn this experience around.
My car was in the shop for two weeks to fix an axle. I had to jump start my vehicle which I bought it in for. The staff has very poor communication skills. They are not clear at explaining things. I had to call my warranty customer service to make sure they were being honest about what they could and couldn't cover. I have brought this vehicle back about seven times since I got it, 3 x in the first month.
I asked for a tire rotation in addition to my oil change. When I picked up the car the rotation had not been done and I was told that they didn't need it because they were wearing properly. I was charged for it anyway. I noticed the discrepancy and had to return to the dealership to get a refund. I also mentioned that the air pressure was low in a couple of tires. I thought that would be taken care of during the rotation. They 'checked' the tires and said they were good but didn't add any air. I do not believe they were ever checked. I was also told that the brakes were good then a couple days later while in for a different service at your dealership I was told they were 2mm less and required immediate service. This kind of action does not instill confidence in your work from a customer.
Purchased our vehicle from one of the Preferred Dealerships in GH. First oil change was free so scheduled for 6:20 Monday night. Not brought back to service until at least 6:40; by then a normal oil change shop would have had it done. Waited and waited and waited. Finally, at approximately 7:40 I told my husband I was going to find out what was taking so long. When I inquired at the counter, they couldn't find the paperwork or our keys immediately because they were so buried. Obviously they finished the vehicle, heaven knows when, but never bothered to inform us. Thank you so much for wasting my husband's and my night; shows a total disrespect for the customer.
Derrick Conkle sold my daughter a beautiful black 2015 Impala LT, 8000 miles, back-up camera, remote start - She loves it! (Dad came along as an observer..). Derrick was patient & professional and made the entire buying experience enjoyable.
An hour and a half for an oil change and my truck sat in the parking lot for at least 30 minutes after it was done, I had to go back to the counter to finally get some service. Had a phone call a couple of days later asking if everything was ok with my visit, told him about the issues and he said the service manager would call me, never heard anything back!
I should not have to try and contact you again, I was told that someone would be calling me back
We arrived at Preferred Chevrolet Buick GMC and were greeted in the parking area by Eric Markey. Eric was very pleasant and listened carefully to what we were looking for. We were in the unfortunate position of needing to purchase a car within 2 days, but Eric made the process feel like we were dealing with our brother rather than a "car salesman". He was confidant, patient, reassuring and there was no pressure from his side. We genuinely felt that Eric wanted to put us in the right car for our situation. We were really blessed by his honesty and straight forward help.
Took vehicle to dealer for vibration during v4-v8 cycle on SS camaro during speed of 50 to 70 mph. They could not replicate after two different people test drove it. Headquarters engineer say this is typical. Picked up vehicle from dealer and as expected vibration was again very noticeable. If I was aware that this was going to be a typical issue I would not have purchased a new Camaro. Also during the time at the dealership shut face on driver's side of bodyside was damaged. Garage manager took no responsibility for damage. I will not return to Preferred Chevy - GMC in GrandHaven for future repairs - oil changes and or purchase of a new vehicle as they do not stand behind there product.
