We recently sold our investment property in Redan with Penny Shields and she made the whole process smooth, stress free and enjoyable. She has a calm and honest approach and achieved our desired result. I highly recommend Penny to anyone looking for an agent in Ballarat region who knows their market and is considerate and easy to deal with from start to finish.

Richard was a fantastic, professional agent to work with. He continuously kept us in the loop and worked hard resulting in a positive outcome for both parties. He comes highly recommended!
I can not fault PRDnationwide Ballarat at all. From the first initial call, through to settlement the experience was seamless. I purchased my home through another Real Estate 4 years ago & was less than impressed with the communication received then. Kiara Porra answered all my questions & guided me through what should have been a stressful time of my life. Thank you Kiara and the team at PRD!
We are new tenants with PRD and have received excellent service. We were able to secure a rental property even before it was advertised due to the thoughtful initiate of property manager Michael Darken, who listened carefully to our needs. The application process was straight forward and all subsequent paperwork done electronically which made for a very smooth process. All correspondence with property manager, Michael Darken, has been prompt and positive with maintenance needs met in a timely manner. I would highly recommend Michael and the PRD team. Thanks PRD.
PRD Ballarat are absolutely the best agents in Ballarat. I am a landlord through them, my agent is Lisa Constable. For the past few years as having Lisa as my agent, I have not had to do a thing. She does everything. The quality of her work is second to none, if I ever have a question, she answers it straight away, she is professional, hard working, dedicated, enthusiastic just to name a few. She has made owning a rental property stress free and quite enjoyable. With out her, I doubt I would still be a landlord. Thankyou so very much Lisa. PRD are very lucky to have you.
Simone James is a highly professional property manager. She has been doing a wonderful job managing our property. Simone has excellent communication skills and is a pleasure to deal with. Keep up the great work!
Had been looking for a rental property for so long until i met Tracey at one of the rental inspections and she couldn't have been more helpful! So bubbly and happy to help! Definitely give Tracey and PRD Ballarat a call as they helped me!
We often hear stories of landlords having bad experiences with tenants, and agents not acting in the landlords best interests; our experience in leasing our property through PRD Ballarat has been the complete opposite. Screening of potential tenants, regular inspections of our property with any maintenance issues addressed in a timely and cost effective manner made for a worry free investment thanks to our Property Manager Stacey Hayes. - Glenn Tyler
Michael Darken and Catharina-Isabell Hartzheim : these two wonders of the modern real estate world have steered me through the last 5 or so years in my almost decade long association with PRD Ballarat. Superlatives are what you look for to describe them and their top notch work ethics.
Michael managed my investment property in Ballarat with diligence, determination and deft touches of insight. Tenants can, at times, be tricky. Not being Ballarat-based I relied heavily on Michael's excellence in communicating what was happening and what needed to happen. He executed every move with diplomacy, dignity and old fashioned doggedness. I did then and do now trust him wholeheartedly. Look no further - he's your guy for sound advice delivered with sincerity and humour.
When I needed to sell the property Michael recommended Catharina to me and as always, his judgments have proven top shelf. (Once being married to a real estate agent I fancy I can spot a fake - trust me - she's not it!!!!!!) I've never even met her and yet my trust in her is again, as with Michael, wholehearted. Because of her excellent abilities to communicate the details diligently and quickly and with due consideration to all parties she made the process of a timely and profitable sale easy. So very easy. Warm-hearted, intelligent and professional this woman knows her work and does it with grace and goodwill.
If you are thinking of buying, selling, renting or just toeing round the edges of this wonderful city of Ballarat, the leadership of PRD seem to seek out the best people and create a fertile environment in which they can flourish.
And you should not look past Michael and Catharina. They are not just professional and on-point, they are immensely kind, decent, hard-working people. I trust PRD knows their worth. I have truly enjoyed and trusted every experience with them. My best to them both.
Tracey, Tallulah & Simone are a fantastic team. They made back-to-back appointments for me as I was coming from out of town and even went above & beyond by processing my application quicker as settlement day was looming for my sale property.
Very impressive company. A large office with structure and routine. I would recommend them highly as a real estate agent myself of 10 years experience. Thank you again.
Our recent interaction with Melanie Porra has been first class, it is easy to see why she is well respected in her field. Mel is extremely professional, her communication was fantastic, and I can honestly say I was blown away with how easy Mel made everything. Would highly recommend.
VERY DODGY! We found our last property manager (they are constantly changing we had 4 in 5 years) was very unhelpful, had very poor communication, tried to sabotage our applications so we could move away from a dodgy landlord and was quite happy to attempt to break laws to get her or the landlord's way and then quickly tried to blame it on something else when we brought it to her attention that we knew it wasn't legal. Previous property managers failed to make important notes in our file which in turn will cost us a lot of money we just cannot afford. Moving is stressful and time consuming especially with young children and they have been super difficult every step of the way. Overall a very disappointing experience.
I dealt with Stacey at PRD Ballarat for the last few years before moving house and she has always been easy to contact and quick to help. Highly recommend Stacey and the team at PRD
What an unbelievable experience. We drove from Mid-North South Australia for an appt at PRD Ballarat to sign paperwork for the purchase of a 5ac block. When we got there, the agent was out. They sent someone in his stead. After a 40m wait, when he finally found the paperwork, he had us sign the dotted lines, only to discover he had us sign the incorrect papers. We left, they didnt even call us back. We drove past the block on the way home and noticed another block for sale, much better, larger and cheaper, we tried our luck, rang Caine Real Estate Ballarat, made them an offer and told them they had 15 mins to get back to us.....10 minutes later they called, accepted the offer and we did a "U" turn, headed to Caine, where they had the paperwork ready and waiting for us! The contast was AMAZING! I could NEVER recommend PRD to ANYONE.
Chris Leonard sold our old home as well as helping us buy our new home.. He was very professional and after two inspections the house sold. I would highly recommend PRD and Chris Leonard. Great guy...
Ordinary Stacy Hayes...when things needed done you done nothing as usual...renters beware...pathetic service when things needed to be fixed...prd very dodgy.
Chris Leonard is a highly experienced sales agent with a great personality and a heart of gold. Chris sold our Gordon home and he ensured the process was smooth and stress free for us. Top agent! Keep up the amazing work Chris!
We purchased a property that had tenants in Heating was broken before we moved in and Agency Kiara Porra and Don Hanlon, Jason Birch are the guilty parties involved. below is a email I sent in after numerous requests.
Nathan has visited and advised the fan has gone and been broken for quite a while! His words exactly
Proves your PRD report is incorrect ( that all is in good working order when we picked up the keys! Monday the 21/01/19, you spent over a hour in our unit trying to get the heating to work and liaising with staff from PRD via tele, your next response o Advised us you would seek tradie etc. Next response from you was I had to seek legal advice regarding this, Our meeting with Don Hanley and ourselves 24//01 you stated in the meeting o the previous tenants had no issue did you even question them? o also stated in the meeting between Don and myself that you did not check the heating? o Who did the final inspection? o Final inspection or handover not received by us, so we could identify the issue with all parties present so no misunderstandings could occur. o Rental Property Team should be paying for this oversight before handling over to the Sold Team o Don Hanley advised during the meeting I cannot sue them? (Defensive response) o As advised by our legal advice The agent should have been there to assist in checking before you took possession of the property on that day ( for discharging of there legal responsibilities).
Previously stated to my conveyancer dated 22/1 that Gary and I were happy to settle as long as the heating issue was resolved!
I have had to chase every query and email regarding this issue, prior to having this resolved before our settlement date. o Which did not occur!
As per Consumer Affairs/VCAT our lawyer, who advise there is a case to answer this outstanding matter has now been escalated. o Through the relevant authorising bodies.
Catharina from PRD is a brilliant estate agent and just a great person too. She has helped us out so much in our search for a house in Ballarat, and always goes the extra mile - quite literally, going out of her way to take us around many properties that matched the profile of what we were looking for. Thanks Catharina!
Used PRD to lease out our property in Nerrina. Extremely professional and helpful. Superb towards the end of the lease when the tenant tried to break the lease. Very happy with the service from Melanie, Stacey and Brendan. Thanks PRD Ballarat.
If it was possible to give less than one star I would. We bought a property which was tennanted. I would never, ever recommend this organisation to manage your rental property. Ever! Non responsive to reasonabe requests and do not even read communications. All of the support promised when we were the buyer vanished like smoke once we held the liability. They don't even know who pays the rates and water bills and are completely disinterested. Would not recommend.
Penny Shields from PRD Ballarat was paramount in helping me purchase my first home. Penny's excellent communication skills, transparency and willingness to offer support made an otherwise stressful experience bearable. Thank-you for all of the support that has been offered during my buying journey.
PRD manage our rental property for from leasing our property to manage it the service has been amazing and the level of detail they have provided me I couldn't be happier.
Very dissapointed with the way prd run things previous tennants destroyed my house inspections didn't state all damages was told I would recieve the full bond back weeks later found out that prd have taken two hundred dollars of it which was due to dishonesty fees caused by previous tenant cant get blood from a stone is what they tell me now I'm waiting months later for them to try and recover the two hundred they took from my bond wouldn't recommend this real estate to anyone my advice would be to steer clear of them their bloody hopeless.
Could not recommend Nicole Gunn from PRD highly enough! She has gone above and beyond her professional duty to keep both myself and my tenants happy. Well done, Nicole :)
We can't praise Chris Leonard, from PRD Ballarat, enough. Our property had many challenges and not once did he lose faith or falter in his enthusiasm. He went above and beyond, and then more, to help us and the buyers to sell their property too. Ranking high in professionalism, communication and knowledge of the local community and districts. On top of all this, just a really nice, genuine guy. Our small community really like him and we hope he continues to be an ambassador for the good and well being of all of Ballarat and it's rural districts.
Terrible service. Agents never respond to your emails. You have to wait for several month when a simple issue will be fixed. I wouldn't recommend to rent a property with them.
My experience has been pretty ordinary with local agents in Ballarat in the past but when I employed PRD Ballarat to sell my house in Alfredton things were very different. They got me $25,000 above what other agents had quoted. Couldn't be happier.
Could not recommend PRD Ballarat highly enough, especially Jenna Tomada. I have recently transferred management from another Ballarat agent to PRD and can say that it has been such an easy transition due to Jenna's professional level of service. Well done Jenna! I am in the process of purchasing a second investment property and will not be going anywhere else than PRD!
Walked in and said we would like to buy house and see what stock they have and coming up. Receptionist politely called down a short suited well seasoned sales agent who showed us the status of stock in their lists.
However when discussing what we wanted he mentioned that our best bet was to stay in Ballarat the Friday night check the local paper for weekend listings as they would never call us back and taking down our details was not necessary. I asked what their rental management fees are and he said I should contact their rental department in a way that implied rentals were beneath him. However I did ask for a call back with respect to managing rentals.
Somehow during the conversation a comment was made that the school the agent sent his children too was a 'real school' in ballarat when I mentioned my son attended a college in another city. Not sure why someone would say that.
Although the advice was brutally honest with respect to the way it was presented they work, I just couldnt help but feel belittled and unimportant to them. In SHOCK and AWE of the whole first experience with PRD upon walking out the door I discarded the PRD documents and thought I just cannot work with people like this as a buyer, and nor effect it on my future tenants or potential purchasers.
I did get very good follow up from PRD rental department however after meeting their sales department unfortunately the damage was done.
In the end I bought 2 properties through other agents who maintained positive contact on a day to day basis.
I was fortunate that PRD agent Corey Hucker valued and subsequently sold my home. Recently widowed, I was finding selling traumatic however Corey's friendly, supportive approach made the process seamless and easy. He answered emails promptly, put up with my questions and was respectful of my home. Very highly recommended.
Joanne Stevens great, honest, friendly, willing to discuss matters at any time. Joanne is one of the main reasons that we decided to use PRD Ballarat. all office staff good. but Joanne always contacted us when said she would. always get the best with Joanne. we got 24 Chifley Dr Delacombe and happy. happy, happy,
Lisa Constable and the PRD Ballarat team have been outstanding. Responsiveness, attention to detail and a commitment to quality service have been truly valued - we couldn t recommend the team highly enough and look forward to many more years together.
I've had the privilege of dealing with Melanie Porra and Don Hanlon from PRD Nationwide Ballarat for nearly 10 years. Melanie is Senior Portfolio Manager and has been managing my property for the last 9 years and she has been outstanding to say the least. Mel maintains a very high standard in everything she does when it comes to property managing. She is highly professional and always helpful. Don Hanlon is PRD Senior Residential Sales Consultant and when dealing with my property he has not missed a beat, making the sale of my property an enjoyable experiences with his knowledge of the market and professional manner. I highly recommend PRD Nationwide Ballarat.
Melanie from PRD Nationwide Ballarat has been very professional and honest throughout re-leasing out our property. She has kept in contact throughout the whole process and i have trusted her opinions. Thank you Mel.
Congratulations we are in the market to buy a house myself and my wife have emailed , left voice messages on mobiles and even called the office with the receptionist saying we will get a call back regarding 2 properties you have listed but haven't got a response worst agents i have ever delt with .... to the sales manager give your staff a kick in the backside if there is a house listed we like and it's with your agency i will not bother calling i wont get any help thanks to your rubbish service..... Just an update bought a home from another agent in ballarat the service was impeccable to the manager at PRD Ballarat get rid of your staff....
PRD, especially Mel, has made my move so incredibly easy. I had a date I wanted to move in and Mel made it happen, with no stress on my end. The ease of the whole process, from inspection to collecting the keys and follow up care has been outstanding. I hope I will be here for a very long time but if I had to move again, I will definitely be staying with PRD. Can not praise them enough. Thankyou Mel and PRD. xx
I have used PRD Nationwide as our property manager now for several years. In particular, Stacey Hayes has been our manager and I would highly recommend her to anyone wanting to take the stress out of maintaining an investment property portfolio. Stacey has experience and wisdom well beyond many other managers. She is efficient, thorough and detailed in all her actions. She is fair to both tenants and landlords and works well to keep everyone in the loop. Communications is one of her many strengths. I have no problem trusting her to deal with any problem that may arise through property leasing.
I highly recommend the team at PRD Nationwide Ballarat and in particular Robert McClure. At all times Rob, who handled the sale of my property, was professional, friendly and efficient. The advertising campaign was excellent. My property sold in the first few weeks of being advertised with the final sale price far exceeding my expectations. A fantastic result.
Have just arrived back in town after working interstate for the past 3-4 years. OMG, if it wasn't for the address I wouldn't know my place. PRD this is the second property of ours you have let be decimated in the space of a few months. The stink, holes in walls, missing fixtures, missing curtains, trashed backyard, holes in carpet. For the second time in a few months you have cost us thousands. Your response will be "wear and tear", however, allowing for wear and tear, properties are supposed to be maintained to an acceptable level and presented back in an acceptable state. You have a lot to answer for PRD.
Mel was terrific as an agent. Very professional always, and easy to talk to. Very responsive when any kind of issue came up and easy to deal with. I would highly recommend her and her company, had no problems at all and very satisfied with her performance.
Unfortunately after moving into our new rental we were left with no heating for the first 3 nights in Ballarat during winter. We flagged the emergency property manager who assured us it would be seen to asap. We moved in over a long weekend and were told that tradesmen were unavailable even though this was the emergency hotline. When I asked the real estate would I be paying full rent for 3 days in the week of no heating I was simply told yes. I had to purchase 2 portable heaters and have them running around the clock for the 3 days. I have two small children and as a paying tenant I beleive that 'caring and integrity' (some of the real estates CORE values) were completely over looked. More infuriating was when the real estates 'expert' rang me she let me know that it would become be a further 4 nights before our heating would be fixed. DO NOT RENT through PRD is the take home.
Don Hanlon seems to sell many of homes in Ballarat but is attending valuations and saying they are worth like 50 grand more then they are so he gets the business then once he puts the house for sale and you sign on the dotted line he calls you every week to drop the price and says aren t you motivated to sell ? his attitude is rude arrogant and socially disrespectful and dishonest many people know this agent for his reputation of being nasty n u call the bosses of him at jens gaunt and they totally ignore it and back him up for being a reputable agent keep away from him and his agency whom defend his actions don t be a suck like my parents
Would just like to say a huge thank you to mel, alastair and lisa in the rental team. Was renting with prd (lisa) for 2 years. Never had an issue. Moved over to another agent and had an absolutely horrible experience. Upon informing lisa, she was more then happy to go above and beyond her duty to help my partner and i find a new place, even though it wasn't one of her properties. Alastair was also a pleasure to deal with. Mel is our new property manager and has been absolutely fantastic. Can't say a bad word about anybody on the prd team.
RUDE AS HELL! Went in today to see about buying a block of land. The young lady on the desk treated me and my husband with such disrespect. Spoke down to us and refused to call a agent for us. Went down the road to ray white who were amazing trying to help us with our needs. If I could give 0 stars I would.
Fantastic service and persistent effort in getting us into our house. We couldn't be happier with the service that Chris Leonard gave us, don't go any further than PRD they were first class. Thanks again.
What a difference PRD Ballarat made my buying experience. I had been to several agents in town and was fobbed off by each agent, didn't get calls back and had to constantly follow up on homes i wanted to buy. My dealings with PRD were completely different , i meet with several different agents each was interested in what my needs were and helped me find the property I was looking for. Then it got even better , it was an investment property i had purchased, they then followed up through Michael Darken on the property management side, explained the process, advertised the property and found a tenant. Could not have asked for it to go more smoothly. Thanks PRD
I trusted this agency to manage my rental property. They don't do what you pay them for and when it comes to being accountable they pass the blame. They cost me a lot of money with their incompetence. Do not trust them with your business
This is our first time selling with PRD. So impressed with the experience. Selling your home can be such a roller coaster of emotions but throughout the whole time we felt at ease thanks to Chris...we got well above our asking price. Very happy clients.
Lovely staff always willing to help! Inspections are always a treat! Just too hard to find a rental in Ballarat but they re willing to try their best for you.
Corey was fantastic to work with in the sale of our house. He was super knowledgeable, down to earth and made us feel comfortable throughout the whole experience. He definitely knows what he is doing and is a delight to deal with. Great communication right through and a great outcome!!
We couldn t recommend Chris highly enough. His extensive knowledge of the local market was invaluable. Chris conducted himself professionally and was great at communicating with us particularly through these uncertain times. He always kept us up-to-date with the market and feedback given to him by potential buyers.
Chris from PRD has been fantastic! He knew all the information to the questions we had, he made us feel at ease and was professional and kind, and patient throughout the whole process of purchasing our first home! He really made the experience as positive as he could for us :)
I would highly recommend Alister Hosking as a property manager for their rental property. He was very easy to work with, friendly, and thorough in all aspects of management. Thanks so much.
PRD have been continously calling my family, leaving cards/letters in our mailbox and door knocking repeatedly in the last year. Despite repeated requests they stop, they continue to harrass us to sell our house. We will not be selling and if we do, it will 100% never be sold with this company.
Being new to renting out my house in ballarat has been such a frustrating experience, now i have found a fantastic property manager with PRD life is easy. Thankyou Stacey for you efficient, professional and friendly service.
Worst Property Managers in Ballarat in my opinion - lf you're a Landlord thinking of using this company and you are wanting no communication, half truths/mis-information and mis-management of your investment property then this is the agent for you!
