James Bainbridge Review of PRD Jens Gaunt
SHOCK and AWE
SHOCK and AWE
Walked in and said we would like to buy house and see what stock they have and coming up. Receptionist politely called down a short suited well seasoned sales agent who showed us the status of stock in their lists.
However when discussing what we wanted he mentioned that our best bet was to stay in Ballarat the Friday night check the local paper for weekend listings as they would never call us back and taking down our details was not necessary. I asked what their rental management fees are and he said I should contact their rental department in a way that implied rentals were beneath him. However I did ask for a call back with respect to managing rentals.
Somehow during the conversation a comment was made that the school the agent sent his children too was a 'real school' in ballarat when I mentioned my son attended a college in another city. Not sure why someone would say that.
Although the advice was brutally honest with respect to the way it was presented they work, I just couldnt help but feel belittled and unimportant to them. In SHOCK and AWE of the whole first experience with PRD upon walking out the door I discarded the PRD documents and thought I just cannot work with people like this as a buyer, and nor effect it on my future tenants or potential purchasers.
I did get very good follow up from PRD rental department however after meeting their sales department unfortunately the damage was done.
In the end I bought 2 properties through other agents who maintained positive contact on a day to day basis.
