I took my car in a year ago because the AC stopped working in my 2016 Honda Civic. They recharged it and sent me on my way. About a month ago I brought it back because it stopped working again. Al was our service representative and I was essentially told that ac problems don t falll under extended warranties and it would be $350 just for them to charge my ac again. I left feeling discouraged, treated like I was an idiot, and taken advantage of, seeing as we have a brand new car that we paid $23,000 for and the ac should not be broken in the first place. We brought the car back after finding out our extended warranty actually doesncover ac related issues, and after several more frustrating encounters with Poway Honda and Al, we got our car fixed after almost two weeks. They couldn t find anything wrong for over a week, and suggested we take the car back and drive it around so it would break again, and MAYBE then they could find the leak. The only redeeming thing about this experience was Evan, the service manager. He was extremely helpful and kind to us and we appreciated his help. I will never be back to this location after this experience and how I was treated by staff.

Overall, I had a very positive experience. My Service Advisor Al was super helpful and a pleasure to work with. My only criticism is that if you are getting a lot of service done, the packages can be confusing. I ended up getting a service package that I had to go home and spend time breaking down the costs on to make sure I got my money's worth. I'm also unsure if everything that was included was absolutely necessary. Overall, I would still go back but would like some more clarity on what the benefit is of their service paackages.

I love Honda Poway! I bought my Honda Accord Crosstour in 2010! It still drives magnificently! I have been coming to Honda Poway for all my car maintenance. Prices for all the services are very reasonable! Even though I moved out of Poway, I still come here because of the excellent customer service! All the staff are awesome! We had an amazing experience yesterday at Poway Honda. There are 5 Honda dealerships that are closer to our house but my husband and I drive out of our way to lease our cars here. In the past, Gary Lobel has taken care of us at Poway Honda. Our lease on our car was coming to an end so my husband called and made an appointment to see Gary and check out some new cars. We showed up too early and were immediately greeted by Mickey Perez. We told him that we were there to see Gary because our lease was coming to an end and we wanted to check out some cars. Unfortunately, Gary injured his back and didn t come into work. I do have to admit I was a little bummed that we didn t get a phone call letting us know that the person we were driving out to see wouldn t be there. I do understand that things happen but I also feel that since we have a rapport with Gary and since we specifically made an appointment with him, we could have been given a heads up.

I do have to say that the customer service that we received from Mickey exceeded my expectations. He went ABOVE AND BEYOND the call of duty making sure we got exactly what we wanted. Mickey made sure that I understood all of the features in my car and went through everything in detail...even though we were there late into the night. He went the extra mile and made sure that the job he did for us was done 100%. We appreciate Mickey s honesty, integrity, dedication and the hard work that he exhibited yesterday.
My husband and I plan on making the drive to Poway Honda because the service here is amazing. Thank you to everyone last night that helped us out. You all worked great together and made our experience an amazing one. As always, we will recommend Poway Honda to all of our friends and family and now we will be telling them all about our superb experience with Mickey. Although he might not be the one to jump in your face and tell you about all the amazing cars for sale, he brought something far more important to the table by taking care of us as if we were close friends. If I could give any recommendation to anyone thinking about buying or leasing a car from Poway Honda it would be to GO SEE MICKEY!

Wasn't sure what to expect but I can say Andrea made me feel very comfortable with decisions to make on service-wasn't pushy or insistant on doing things I thought might not be needed because of mileage but really gave me helpful info, was very kind, respectful & professional . My car was serviced & I used the shuttle service which was a great plus & very helpful to me. I will definitely come back when my auto needs service-thank you all for taking such good care of me & my car.:)

I was very pleased with the service experience I had at Poway . I had a problem with the transmission and they tried a few things and finally put in a new one. I got thr impression that they wanted to do the right thing and make good. I really appreciated the treatment I received. The service person assigned to my car went above and beyond to make things right. I did not have to call him for status he called me and kept me informed . Even when I picked up the car he had an associate take care of me since he was on vacation that day. Everyone there was very friendly and helpful. My service advisor name was Chuck Cruz .

We used Poway Honda to purchase a second vehicle and there was no shady trying to get more money out of us. No play on words. We agreed on a total overall price (not monthly payment price, overall total cost) and it stayed that price as we went through the finance department. Alfred was very helpful in finding the car we wanted and explaining all the features. We purchased the Honda Civic EX-L. Great Car! This was a painless experience.

I took my car in to have a cold start issue checked out. It is a known issue with the 2015 Honda Fit. After leaving my car there for a day and a half so they could start it cold and heat the noise, they concluded it was just the valves working. I sent them this from a Honda technical service bulletin that I found online:

Techline summary article - does the engine rattle at startup for about 1 to 3 seconds? what s happening is the lock pin inside the vtc actuator isn t holding the actuator properly. this lets the vane turn within the housing.

They again told me it was the valves working. I know that this noise want there when the vehicle was new.

I also have has problems with the plastic splash guard falling off. I secured it with zip ties. They wanted to charge me over $370 for parts and labor to put new clips on.

Not too happy with their service. I guess the one silver lining is that I wasn t charged for the visit.

Oil changes are never fun, but Poway Honda does it's best to make the experience more enjoyable. :) My service advisor was Marco Lopez and he was pleasant and easy to work with. My oil change was quick. My kids enjoyed the playroom and popcorn. I was happy for the coffee. The girl at the payment desk was nice and friendly. The guy at the parts department was kind to explain in detail how to use the car paint I purchased. I always go to Honda Poway.

We bought a used 2007 Honda Pilot that was supposedly in excellent condition and paid top dollar for it for the alleged condition and mileage (79,000). The vehicle was supposedly thoroughly evaluated by their service department. The floor mats were missing and the sales person promised to order free replacements. As soon as I drove off the lot, mechanical problems started including check engine light (emission system), cruise control did not work at all, and shortly thereafter, we found out 2 of the 4 tires were totally defective (bulges and out-of-round). I called the sales person 10 minutes after driving off lot about the first two issues and she said that s all your problem, you bought it As-Is . Her attitude had completely changed. I then called her to check on the floor mats and she complained that they were going to come out of her commission. It turns out she was lying and never intended to order the floor mats. She turned very nasty and totally unprofessional. Subsequently she never answered my calls and refused to return multiple voicemails. I finally called to speak with a sales manager and explained the unacceptable behavior of my sales rep and he said he would only honor getting the floor mats which he did.

The vehicle has proven to be a rolling trash can with numerous additional mechanical issues and we had to replace all 4 tires. It turns out they bought the car from some sleazy auction, perfumed the pig and then dumped it on us for top dollar via a dishonest and rude sales person. It s was your typical classless used car operation and not what I would expect from a new car dealer. I would never buy anything from these guys again and would never take my car there for service. BEWARE!

Best interaction I've had with a dealership in 40 years of buying cars. I had to purchase a vehicle long distance for my son who goes to school in San Diego. All of the Poway staff were professional and helpful. The pricing was fair. They even helped me arrange to transport my wife's car back home. If I could, I would buy all future cars from Poway.

Would have been 5 stars but I also would want to consider my disappointment last year about the delayed installation of our car's accessory because of inconsistency which made me doubt about this dealership. They even offered me a free full tank gas because of that incident but haven't availed it because it took me 1 year to come back. However, it was still a good experience on how they catch up about it. Especially the service adviser named Jon Callao who really did a good job for being true to his word and with accuracy of when the parts are coming and ready for installation that gained our trust again as a customer. Also, things to keep in mind about this dealership is a good place to chill that offers a playroom for toddlers, free wifi, donuts, fruits, popcorn and beverages while waiting for your car being serviced. Free Carwash is a Plus too.

I have owned 4 cars in my lifetime and purchasing from Poway Honda was the worst car buying experience of my life. Full of false promises and straight up lies.

Sales person Nikki demonstrated little interest in taking us for a complete or meaningful test drive. Nikki unpromted promised if we were to put a deposit on the car (Friday) the car would be through safety inspection and detailing ready for pickup at the very latest on Monday. We placed the deposit and expected to pickup the car on Monday.

Monday morning we called to checkup on the progress and salesperson Doc advised us to come in and sign the paperwork and that the car would be ready before close of business. We were not willing to make the 50 minute drive to possibly not bring home the car so we asked for a call back when the car was ready. After hearing nothing all day we called back just before close of business only to hear the mechanics had gone home and that the car was not ready.

Thursday rolled around and we finally return to complete the paperwork. Doc took us for a complete and excellent test drive and advised us a door piece was coming on the AM fedEx shipment. We noticed several items not yet addressed in the detail promised by Nikki (key scratches, trim dent, steering wheel peeling) Doc immediately had the car sent back to detailing to address these issues. Detailing was unable to address the peeling steering wheel so Doc offered to have a complementary cover placed on it...what we got was a dead cat of a steering wheel cover that was far to large to safely drive with.

After completing paperwork the part was still not present and we were promised that it must be on the PM FedEx shipment.....we end up taking the car home with a promise of a phone call when the part is in to pickup and have installed.

The day after taking the car home I receive a message from Doc that a critical receipt that the dealership needed had mistakenly been sent home with us. I advise Doc that I am available in the late morning hours for him to come and retrieve the document from my residence. He proclaims gratitude that I will be available and after leaving my schedule open for the time agreed upon I hear nothing from him until close of business that he missed me.

Days pass and multiple calls from Doc asking for when I would be available to return the document to Poway Honda (50 min away) I get a request to take pictures of the documents and text them to him. I comply and receive no response or inkling of thanks.

I have owned this car for 4 weeks now and still without this door piece.

For the second time in the 2.5 years I have owned my CRV., the service people at Honda have sent me away saying everything was fixed only to have to return days later with the problem still unresolved. The most recent incident I took my car in for a tire that was losing air even after I would fill the tire with air and the low air pressure indicator light kept coming on. I took my car to Evans tires only to be told there was nothing wrong with the tire it must be the sensor and I should take it into Honda. Well Honda did the exact same thing Evans Tires did, they filled the tire and reset the indicator light and said nothing was wrong with the tire or the sensor. When I questioned why it continuously deflating after it was filled they said "I don't know, there is nothing wrong with the tire or the sensor." Basically they said there was nothing wrong and they had no idea why it kept deflating. They has checked the tire with soapy water and nothing leaked. Again i told them that something is wrong because I fill it and then days later it is deflated again. The had me pick up my car and that was that. Two days later while driving to work the indicator light popped on again. I drove straight to Poway Honda and said, I told you something was wrong...fix it! They proceeded to tell me that they would change my tire and they did for $187! I can get 4 tires for that much $ - then when I asked what the problem with the old tire was they said it had corrosion on the rim. Really? I thought you checked it the FIRST time I was there! These people so the MINIMUM possible. They are terrible!

The Technician was very professional and accomodating. My car was ready within an hour as he promised. I find Poway Honda Service department is like well-oil engine machine, everyone is very customer-focus.

We bought a used Honda at the Poway dealership. Gary Lobel showed us the car and assured us that, although it wasn t a certified used car, we shouldn t worry about anything because of the worry free principle the dealership applies to all used cars. This means that all cars get inspected and that condition of the car is clearly communicated to the customer. In our case Gary showed a complete maintenance record and that the car passed all inspections without any issue. A fantastic deal

By the time we got home, we discovered that the transmission was leaking. OK, the dealership took care of it. But that made us doubt how well those worry free inspections had been done. An independent third party assessment learned us that the car was full of hidden defects : worn out breaks and pads, bended drive shaft, steering hydraulics leaking... All in all, more than 5k USD of repairs that needed to be done. Not exactly what we call worry free .

When trying to contact Gary Lobel about this, he ignored us. When escalating further up, we first got the blunt answer that the car was sold as is . We continued to insist and got in contact with JR and ultimately the GM, Jakki Mafi. Both pretended to listen and to care about our customer experience, but all they did was talking a lot to gain time without any intension to solve this case nor to come up with a compromise that was acceptable for both parties. Their only goal was to make us go away and to protect the values for the dealership.

Bottom line : this dealership claims to be customer centric, but is in reality no better than any other and is only out to maximize its profits. Very friendly when you're in to buy, but extremely cold and arrogant when there is a problem.

The staff are very friendly. The prices at the service department however are a total rip off. From $160 to replace an $80 battery to $350 to replace a gasket that A+ Autocare across the street did for $150. They also recommend all kinds of stuff that didn't need to be done for insane prices. They tried charging me $1,600 to replace a bunch of components from my SRS system. I took it to two other mechanics for second opinions and they both said that nothing was wrong with the system and the unit just needed to be reset and didn't charge me anything...

Paul Ward and the staff were very accommodating. We had our two little children with us and they were very conscious of it. We were actually there during lunch time and their team had a staff lunch with sandwiches, hot dogs and chips. They told us to grab food for the kids and ourselves.
It was so nice and was a big deal for us in keeping the kids happy while we finished up the paperwork. We were very happy with the experience from start to finish.

This review is way overdue. I have had several incredible experiences with Poway Honda. I started using their Service Department a couple of years ago based on a referral of a friend. Even though I didn't own a Honda at the time (I owned a Mazda and a Suzuki), the service department staff treated me as if I were part of the Honda family. The service has always timely and cost effective. My experience with the Service department has been so positive that I recently traded my Mazda in for a Honda. My experience with the Sales staff was no different. They gave me a fair price on my trade and no hassle pricing on Honda. Just last week I had some after market work performed there and received the usual excellent service I have come to expect from the staff there. Whenever, I hear someone mention their having car problems or complain about their current service provider, I ALWAYS recommend they take their cars to Poway Honda. I recommend you do as well.

Only have good things to say about this place and it's staff a special thanks to Mickey Perez for not only being able to find me a Honda civic hatchback sport but in the color sonic gray!! I absolutely love this car and he was super kind and helped me through the entire process over the phone! thank you for the wonderful experience!
