So I come in to Poway Honda as a first time custom...

So I come in to Poway Honda as a first time customer to have my car serviced. I have a 2013 Honda Civic. I come in for a B12 service which is cabin filter air filter and oil change. I also had a wheel alignment service due to recently purchasing new tires. The service advisor by the name of Alvaro Rodriguez claimed that I had mice running around in my engine at some point. I live in the city. I don t live in an area where mice are a problem inside engines like for those people who live in a more rural area. After I have my car serviced Alvaro Rodriguez comes back with a quote. $153.88 for a brake fluid exchange. $254.80 for a transmission fluid drain and refill as well as $139.95 for a fuel induction service. That s $548.63 extra service. I have just over 76,000 miles on my vehicle and have been flawless with the maintenance on my vehicle. Little did Alvaro Rodriguez know. I used to work at a Honda Dealership on the service side just like him. So needless to say I know the inns and outs. The funny thing is I just recently had my transmission fluid serviced which means I knew he was trying to double cross me. And when I looked closely at the quote he gave me for the $254.80 in regards to the transmission fluid drain and refill service I noticed something interesting. The quote was for a pilot 9 speed bringing the service price up around $160 or more. Double cross 1. The mice comment. Double cross 2. The fact that my transmission fluid was fine. Double cross 3. Jumping the price up approximately $160. Double cross 4. Telling me I absolutely needed to have my brake fluid serviced and if I was unwilling I would need to sign a waiver in order to drive my vehicle. Double cross 5. Telling me I needed a fuel induction service. What a liar and all kinds of other dirty rotten names. So I took my vehicle immediately over to the old Honda dealership where I used to work. And guess what. They confirmed that Alvaro Rodriguez was a complete liar and that I did not need to spend $548.63. So my intuition was right. I was doublecrossed in multiple ways by this Poway Honda Dealership. Be aware and weary. Whatever you do, do not come to this dealership for anything and especially to have your car serviced. I am a middle-aged male. Imagine how much this automobile service center would be willing to lie to the elderly. Poway Honda. You have lost all of my respect and you have completely dishonored me with your absolute utter dishonesty.

Worst customer service. Sales team was very much reluctant to open up any discussion on the vehicle I liked. I went there today to view Honda Certified Preowned car, I was prepared to book the car with a deposit but the sales guy was more interested to other matters that discussing with me for options. He didn't even offer to have a seat to talk on the car I took a test drive - very disappointing. I would never recommend this place for their insulting attitude.

The service department check-in was easy and efficient. The car was ready in less time than they predicted. The only issue was I had a coupon (10% off) that the service advisor said he would take off the bill. When I reviewed my bill after I got home, I was charged the full amount. I will be going back for service but won't trust that the advisors actually do what they say they will do.

I took my car in last week and the customer service is professional and welcoming as well. The representative who helped me was Chris Melton, and he was very informative and helpful. He was direct with me about the services and costs that was required to repair my car, and I appreciated that. Even though the cost was pretty pricey to have my car serviced, I thought they did a good job and their customer service is excellent.

I talked to a sales consultant Vince about buying a Honda Accord Hybrid Touring. He was very nice and professional with very minor haggling. He was not completely honest about how he quoted the price but most salesmen aren't. After deciding on purchasing the car, I talked to another sales consultant Raj who went above and beyond to help me with the paperwork and teaching me about all the features of my car. He was genuinely concerned about the whole process. Then I started filling out the paperwork with another employee who was not nice and did not seem to care about my purchase. Overall, I have delt with worse car salesman and this experience was a little above average due to Raj's great customer service.

Extremely friendly staff-Marco was great to work with. Quality of work was excellent, but I would expect no less with an oil change, Honda "B" package service, mount and balance of 4 new tires, 4 wheel alignment, and car wash. Competetive pricing! With good quality tires I still paid what I would have expected to pay if I had shopped around for the cheapest tires and service work. I will go back.

I needed repairs to my Honda Civic from hitting an object left on the roadway. Valentin Morales my service rep went beyond the call of duty when he personally gave me a ride home as the shuttles /car rental's had closed for the day. My insurance adjuster's damage evaluation almost matched that of Poway Honda's giving me a comfortable feeling regarding the extent of damage. The service and repairs were both excellent.

I had a car that was 19 yrs old and felt it was time for me to upgrade BUT I was dreading the hassle which we've always encountered when buying a car. However, our dealings with Poway Honda was fast, no hassle , pleasent experience and would recommend this store to all who are looking for a new or used car.

I came in for an oil change, Jon Callao took care of me. He greeted me quickly, explained the timeframe for the job, offered to wash my car and even checked to see if I had any coupons just in case! I came back at the time specified to find the service was done and my car was washed as promised. Jon's customer service was awesome.

My first experience with Poway Honda was excellent!
A negative experience, buying a used car from a private party (that gave me issues from the start) turned from a nightmare situation into my renewed faith in humanity when I met 2 angels on earth, Steve the parts Manger and Evan, the service Manager. Both went out of their way with their kindness and willingness to treat me the way they would want one of their family members to be treated. Some people might say they were only doing their jobs, but in the world today it is hard to find those that will take the time to explain possible solutions and think outside the box to help remedy my issue. I am so thankful for these 2 who made a world of a difference in resolving my issue with my car. These 2 are not the only ones who were amazing! My service tech and all the people helping others around me seemed to be so welcoming and helpful that it seemed like a very positive environment. I appreciate Poway Honda so much!

I just want to give a HUGE shout out to Marco Ramirez in the Poway Honda Service Dept. for taking care of me at my last service! I brought my car in for service during my lunch hour, and had been waiting in my car awhile for someone to check me in...I finally went in to ask for assistance. Although he was busy doing something else, he was the only one that stepped up to take care of me. Marco was able to check me in and get me on my way. He was in constant contact with me while my car was in service to give me updates, and was able to address all of the items for my vehicle. Marco really went above and beyond and if I could give him more that 5 STARS I would! His customer service is excellent and he knows how to take care of his customers.

It has been 5 years since I bought a car from the dealership, and Poway Honda experience was a pleasant and happy experience. I was buying a used Nissan Leaf from a 'Honda' showroom :-)... but the sales people and the financial team were very cordial and friendly and the whole process was a breeze. Really liked the way the salesperson ' Raj Shetty' treated us and there was no 'typical' upselling or pressuring etc.. that can happen in a typical used car sale. He was honest in letting me know about his knowledge in electric cars and gave us all the space and time to evaluate the car and to decide on our price. He even helped talk to the financial managers about our expectations in terms of the price of the car and helped the deal go through. The others in the showroom were professional and courteous. I went in there to check for a car and an hour or so later, came out buying the car with no issues...and with a refreshing feeling of having bought a car with absolutely no stress!

I had an appointment for 8:20am on a Saturday. I was told it would take half the day to have my breaks let (recall) and my oil changed. I was offered a complimentary car wash. At 4:15, I had to call the service department because I hadn t heard anything about my car and I know it closes at 5pm. After being transferred 3 times, I was told oh, we left you a message . No. They didn t. I had my phone on me all day and had multiple calls made/received. No voicemails. I went to retrieve my car and it hadn t been washed. I am so extremely disappointed. I am a first time buyer and have avoided getting a new car for years because I didn't want to get talked into anything! However the people at Poway Honda kept my needs and budget in mind. They didn't talk me into anything. They asked me what I was looking for and delivered! Their finance department was also amazing. They worked out a great deal for me and made my payments reasonable and in my budget. Thank you to everyone on the team who made this experience so easy and such a positive experience. Not to mention we LOVE our new car!!! We went from a 2000 Toyota Camry to a 2013 Honda CRV. We feel so spoiled! I look forward to many more interactions with Poway Honda. Thanks everyone!

I've been going to this location for minor service...

I've been going to this location for minor service for the past 20 years. There have been ups and downs. It sometimes takes an incredible amount of time to get to speak to a service advisor, and they seem understaffed and often overwhelmed. They also take way too long for just an oil change - about an hour and a half on average. As other reviews stated their prices are very high for repairs. A couple of minor service items I asked them to look into they came back and quoted me hundreds of dollars for unnecessary replacements.

On the plus side they do complimentary car washes, and offer good coupon deals sometimes.

Poway Honda is normally a well oiled machine. However, for some reason when we took our 2010 Honda Odyssey in for routine front and brake service, the service team failed in nearly every way. I asked for a call prior to any work being done; never received one. A typical 2 hour service took 3.5 hours. I asked when the car was done if they found anything else and was told no; when I read the paperwork at home it said there was a major issue with the front axle. Service advisor was extremely difficult to get a hold of, hung up on me twice. Been loyal customers with two cars for two years...but not sure I'll return.

Speedy service for oil change! I was having an issue with my speakers and asked that they be checked. I thought the right front and left rear, which had a rattle,
were loose. It turns out they were ALL making this noise, at least that is what I was told. They stated that that the bass was turned up too high and "the system can't handle that". My question is why not have a system that can handle more bass? Guess I will accept the answer given and will rock out without too much bass!

I took my 2009 Accord in to have the passenger side airbag replaced. For many years Pete Hayes was my service advisor; he was a major reason why I always bought my cars at Poway Honda. I was very sad to learn that Pete passed away, but needed a new service advisor. I was quite satisfied with Al Rodriguez. He made sure that I had my car taken care of and it was ready to pick up within the promised timeline.

Doc and I were able to efficiently work out the details over email and phone, and when we came in to the dealership to complete the purchase the experience was excellent. Megan and Scott helped us complete the paperwork\finances and check out the car, and Megan provided an overview of the car's features. Recommended.

Worked with Cortney in sales and Ryan in financing. Both were courteous and genuine with our new car. We had come off a terrible used car purchase and they were the exact opposite. Nothing was hard sale and I felt comfortable and not "guilted" into purchasing add ons I did not consider necessary. I went out of the way to go to Poway Honda because of how they treated me on the phone. I would like to come back here in the future if I need another car.

I give zero stars. My husband and I were customers for life and now they have officially lost us for good, which is really sad because we do like to support our local businesses. The most recent incident confirmed for me the culture and mentality of the service department which runs all the way through to the top service manager. Poway Honda service department does not listen to the customer. Their motivation is to up-sell. Bottom line. My consistent experience the past few years is that I go in with a concern and they immediately give me worst case scenario. The service rep did not even bother to listen to the facts: 1) I had brought the car in less than a week ago and spent over $750 on brakes, tire, alignment service, and 2) the computer consistently goes haywire telling me to "check tire pressure". Again, with those facts in place the service rep AND the service manager had the audacity to tell me "There is probably a nail in the tire." These assumptions are insulting and the fact that they continue to occur means that the culture of the business will not change, regardless of the feedback. Furthermore, I did not like or appreciate the way the service manager spoke to me. Instead of listening, he continued to talk at me and negate what the customer was trying to say about the issues with the car. In the end, I was right...it was the computer and there was no nail in the tire. But they will never see or consider that. All could have been avoided if they could have shown respect to the customer at the onset instead. Moving forward we will take our business elsewhere. Before you decide to use Poway Honda I recommend considering this information. Although they have positive reviews on google, my experience for the past few years since new management took over has not been great. Best of luck.

However, the customer service consultant saw how long the wait time was for me to get serviced, and happily made up for it with a discount for the inconvenience. Prior experiences have always been a positive experience as well.

I purchased a 2016 CIVIC on 02/07/2017 with 1,200 miles for my daughter. It is now March 30 2017 ( it has been 8 wks & 4 days) and I just now got a return phone call from the HONDA DMV Dept. to tell me that there was a problem with my license plate/sticker and the CA DMV had kicked it back and turn she has to re-submit it on March 14, 2017. After so many calls I made trying to find out what the hell happened as my daughter needs the license plate to get a parking permit at her school. And every time I called I was told to wait... LIER!! Bad service. I've always bought my cars through POWAY HONDA, but with this experience I will not be returning to purchase another vehicle. She made it sound like I was impatience and she kept defending herself (Poway DMV Clerk) that it wasn't her fault. Honestly, I think it was sent to CA DMV way later than it should've been and i don't believe it was process correctly and so the CA DMV and returned. Now, I have to wait again for my license plate/sticker and registration. Let's see how long this will take. UGHHHH

He did give a 10% discount (again he was great). told my husband that evening what I paid...$254. My car was taken by 830 and I was in my car by 911. $145 labor. Needless to say he was pissed. One day after paying $33,000 dollars for the vehicle I have to have it towed because the transmission is shuttering so bad that it won't go over 30 mph. From start to finish, my very first experience with the Poway Honda Service department was excellent. They were all very sensitive to the current situation (Covid-19), courteous and well informed. I asked a couple questions regarding the services that they were about to perform and was given very clear and thorough explanations. I was told what my wait time should be and it was exactly that. They seemed to be quite busy, but not too busy to make me feel rushed. AND ... they also provide a clean and comfortable waiting area inside. Good Job!

He explained the test to me and said he would call me with the results. He did as planned and gave me the cost. He also gave me other options for service. I authorized the service and as said, he called me that afternoon when my vehicle was completed.
Chris is friendly and very professional. He did exactly what he said he would in informing me and calling as promised.
I now have a dealership that I feel very comfortable with for vehicle service.

They don't allow fractions, or I would have put this at 3 and 1/2 stars. Liked: The car. We bought a 2017 CRV EX. It is spacious, comfortable, gets great gas mileage, looks sharp and has just enough technical whistles and bells to improve our driving without overwhelming us. The salesman. Vincent, was very helpful and we feel we got a very reasonable price.
Didn't Like: The car was on another lot and we kept getting told they had gone to pick it up, but they had to move 7 cars to get to it. After waiting an hour or so, we found out they had not even left to get it yet. Our test drive was riding over with the lot guy and then driving our car back. LoJack: We were told by the Finance woman that our insurance gave up to a 25% discount if we had LoJack installed. We figured the savings would more than pay for the LoJack over time so we added it to our purchase. Later, our insurance told us they did not provide an additional discount for LoJack, so we called back to Poway Honda and asked for a refund of the LoJack cost (it had not been installed yet). The Finance woman was not in that day, so we left her a message, she didn't call back so we called the next day and were told she was out sick. Then we asked for the GM and she passed us on the to Finance Director. This was on a Wednesday. She told us (after we sent an email requesting the cost of the LoJack be refunded) that she would send it to us by overnight delivery on the upcoming Monday. We did not receive the refund by the next Wednesday so we called again and were told the Finance Director was unavailable but that she'd call us the next day. We had to call her the next afternoon because she had not returned our call. She said she had to wait for a signature and she had no recollection she had told us it would be sent on Monday (even though it was in an email she sent us). While we were on the phone with her the check came. So high scores for the vehicle and the salesman. Low scores for the hassle getting the LoJack refund.
