Had a good experience here. Got here at 1pm on a Saturday and finished about 6, which is about average in my experience to buy a car. Got the color we wanted including the interior, and the car looks very nice and is an absolute pleasure to drive. Our sales associate was so nice and listened very well. Not pushy at all. Really wanted to help. Only downside was that I think she was new and when we first picked a car to test drive, she went to pull it off the display walk and I told her she should use ramps. She disagreed and we watched the car scrape badly as it went off the sidewalk. We decided not to buy that exact car, but bought a different one (that was a little more expensive...oh well). Overall still a good experience despite the hiccup. Love our new Odyssey!

Although there were minor, could not be controlled delays, Chuck was the most amazing agent to assist me and to make my experience top of the line. Professional, transparent and fair - I have been coming to Poway Honda for many years and have had the best experiences from all I have worked with. My husband and I will continue to return for all our vehicle needs, more importantly, we will ask for Chuck to always help us. Thank you so much Chuck and Poway Honda for always ensuring our vehicles are in peak running condition.
First time to have it serviced by Honda Poway. Mr. Marcos Ramirez (Customer Service Advisor) is a very courteous and customer service oriented professionals. I have never experience with this kind of service provided by Poway Honda. Job Well Done!!!
Speedy service for oil change! I was having an issue with my speakers and asked that they be checked. I thought the right front and left rear, which had a rattle, were loose. It turns out they were ALL making this noise, at least that is what I was told. They stated that that the bass was turned up too high and "the system can't handle that". My question is why not have a system that can handle more bass? Guess I will accept the answer given and will rock out without too much bass!
(1 of 2 parts) Unfortunately, I would not recommend this dealership. I conducted an Internet search for a 2013 Honda Accord (having previously researched and decided on this make/model) and clicked on a match located at this dealership, filled out the online form (on a Wednesday afternoon) to have someone contact me for a test drive. By Saturday, nobody from this dealership had contacted me (although another dealership called right after I submitted the form), so I filled out the form and submitted it again. I was immediately contacted by an Internet sales consultant from this dealership, confirmed that this specific vehicle was on the lot, and made an appointment to test drive the Certified Pre-Owned vehicle within an hour.
The first big problem was the Internet sales consultant. Not sure where to even start to describe him. Condescending, impatient, rude, uptight and a downright bully. After I test drove and decided to buy the car, I'd say this persons behavior got even worse. We started the paperwork process and had to complete some paperwork that was not even necessary (because we were not financing). We made two phone calls during the transaction to verify what we were doing and check on some details about the car. This seemed to infuriate the sales consultant, his voice rose and he became more rude and belittling. During the second phone call, we discussed going to get lunch before finalizing the paperwork (the process was taking way longer than we expected) and the sales consultant about blew a gasket. He ranted on of all the (invalid) reasons that going to lunch was a terrible idea - it was truly unbelievable. The person on the other end of our phone call was shocked at the sales consultant's belligerence - overhearing what he was saying and how he was saying it. The person we called said "Please tell me that isn't your sales person" and suggested we ask for someone else to help us, which we did.
The second sales consultant was better. Calm, polite and accommodating - checked on us every few minutes while waiting for the Finance (and other ?) personnel. I am not sure however, how much sales experience or vehicle knowledge he had. He appeared to be new to the dealership but again, very polite and accommodating.
The process with the Finance Manager was fairly painless. He was organized, friendly, calm, polite and relatively patient. As a side note, I previously did not know that a customer had to go through the "finance process" even when not financing. Apparently, it is the Finance Manager's responsibility to sell all the "extras". Good to know.
When we went to "take delivery" of the vehicle, the Bluetooth was not functioning. The new sales consultant took the car to service who tried to fix it by rebooting the computer but that did not help. It was now Saturday afternoon approaching 4:00. Since the service department is closed on Sunday, they needed to keep the car until Monday and said they would call me with a diagnosis. By 1:30 or so in the afternoon on Monday, I had not heard from anyone so called the dealership. The phone rang well over 10-15 times then finally someone picked up and transferred me to another phone that rang and eventually went to voice mail. About two hours later, I received a call back that the car was ready. Since it was already late in the day, we decided to pick up the car the next day. We were told that the problem was that someone had spilled a soda on the buttons and they were sticking so all they did was clean off the spill. As an aside, we thought it was somewhat sloppy that the dealership did not reset the telephone settings from the previous owner, especially since I think it is just a quick push of a button. While nothing confidential was gleaned, the previous owner's name (and phone names) were still programmed on the Bluetooth phone feature.
I've driven Honda for several years and after moving to SD in 2014 decided to buy a new one. Poway Honda was pushy, rude and generally unpleasant. It was so bad that I drove to Anaheim from SD to buy my Honda rather than deal with Poway. The cars and offers were exactly the same, but I preferred to drive almost 2 hours than deal with these guys. If you are looking at Hondas or need a Honda dealer go to any other one you can find.
Three years ago my wife and I purchased a used Volvo from Poway Honda. Raj was our sales person and we had an excellent experience. Today we just traded that one in for another used Volvo at Poway Honda. Mickey Perez helped us this time. From the start Mickey was intent on fitting the family to the car and not the other way around. He listened. Yeah, he can talk too, but never the pressured drive to make a sale. I appreciated the efficiency he showed in getting an estimate for our trade in and moving us through the paperwork. No wasted time, let me say that again, no wasted time. Thank you Mickey and Poway Honda. I'm a hard repeat customer but you'll see us again.
Perfect! we had a strange issue with a few lights on the dashboard, and what seemed like a flat tire too, just before a busy weekend and picking up family at work and later at the airport. It was bad time not to have a car. Called in mid afternoon and they were able to fix it promptly, and add a service software update and it was all covered. What a relief.
I had an awesome experience. Al is best. He explained the problem and gave to details on what needs to be done. They also provided me the shuttle service which was very helpful. Every one with whom I interacted were great. I would definitely recommend Poway Honda to my friends.
Poway Honda's service can get quite busy and hectic, but I have always found the customer service to be top-notch. When I dropped my car off for service yesterday I received both an update call and a call as soon as the car was finished. They washed it for me and got me in-and-out quickly when I came to pick it up.
When purchasing a Honda, I wouldn't go anywhere else than Gary at Poway Honda. In our two purchases from him, we learned that he is the most patient, least pushy guy, and will get you in and out in a relatively short amount of time. When the time comes for a new car, we will be back visiting Gary at Poway Honda.
I really enjoyed buying my Honda HRV from Poway Honda. My salesman Mickey was very knowledgeable and nice to work with. We went on a test drive and he explained features about the vehicle which were very helpful - like how the seats fold back for more storage. I was very happy with the offer on my trade in - which was also a Honda. The finance manager Brittney was very easy to do business with. I had brought in my application that I filled in online and was out of there in a few hours. I couldn't ask for a better experience.
I needed (my very first) service on my new Honda Clarity and was able to make an appointment for the following day. I arrived to the Honda dealership at the scheduled time and was greated by friendly and efficient service staff. During the wait in the lounge area, employees came by frequently to insure we were comfortable and informed on the status of vehicles. The service was completed promptly and I was back road.
I had an awesome first car buying experience at Poway Honda. Brian Mallow was straight-forward with everything and made me feel welcome. I got the car I wanted at a good price.
Very helpful, professional and knowledgeable. Steve Robison is the person who helped me out and he was very thorough with every questions I asked. I'm impressed with the customer service.
Found what I was looking and thanks to the staff there was able to get the best price after looking at three other Honda dealers. Thanks to Mickey Perez who was knowledgeable, friendly and listened to what I was looking for and found it. Mickey and JR delivered on all their promises and were very accommodating. Maureen in finance was very knowledgeable and so helpful and willing to work around your needs. My experience there was wonderful !
I went to Poway Honda last week to get an oil change and tire rotation. My appointment was for 11:30am and my service technician was very prompt and professional. The service advisor told me that it would take about an hour and a half to service my vehicle, and was pretty accurate in his time estimation. I would recommend taking your vehicle to Poway Honda, to have your car serviced, they are very nice, have a well maintained facility, and has respect for the customers time.
I dropped my car off on a Saturday and waited in the lobby being told it would take about 2 hours at 1:30, at 5:15 as they were locking up the service area I asked where my car was. I was informed it was completely forgotten, they then did a "rush job" to get in done, it was finished at 6:30. This was my first visit to Honda with my new car. Everyone did Apologize.
This one star review is purely a reflection of the quality of the vehicle - 2021 Honda Odyssey Touring edition.
To lay the context I ve owned multiple Hondas over the years. Overall they served as solid reliable vehicles.
What I offer below is simply a synopsis as It would take several pages and hours to outlay all the difficulties with the electronics and otherwise that have risen after the purchase of this vehicle.
To start on a positive note my son likes the TV in the back and the laterally sliding seats are unique and useful.
I have several videos and photographs that I could easily add to augment this review.
Cons:
1. Poorly functioning driver s side sun visor. 2. Electronic malfunctioning of the GPS while phone is being used. I have taken videos of this malfunction and provided them to Honda. 3. Poor driver side blind spot visibility. 4. Poor placement of passenger side rear view mirror. 5. While shifting in reverse, the passenger side rear view mirror angles down but does not angle back up to the original starting position when shifted back to drive. 6. Panels between windows are not glossy black to match the windows in the touring model. 7. 17 miles a gallon on this vehicle with a mix between highway and city street driving. 8. Poor placement of the BSM warning light inside the vehicle instead of on the mirrors itself. 9. Lane assist is marginal at best.
Honda readjusted the driver side sunvisor as it broke in less than 24 hours after pick up of the vehicle. They stated that the factory had not attached this properly.
Regarding the electronic GPS PHONE malfunction, Honda has yet to send me feedback even after providing an update to the system at the sales site. My understanding from the good people at the service center is that Honda Corp was sent these videos of the problem taking place under highway driving conditions to further investigate.
Despite my grievances, Honda has done well for many as seen in these reviews. My experience, unfortunately, does not reflect the same.
I got there much earlier than my appointment. John did not make an issue of it. In fact he did not even mention it and made me feel welcomed. He was very polite and gave me clear explanations. Later we talked about our families and I made me feel connected and that he also cared. The shuttle driver was also polite and courteous. Overall all very pleased.
Great customer service, after shopping around in several dealerships Poway Honda had the best deals. In the finance department everything was well explained no hidden charges and it was fast and easy. I would highly recommend leasing or purchasing your next vehicle at Poway Honda
Pleasant experience from initial contact via the web to the conclusion of the transaction. All persons involved where engaging, friendly, and helpful. Thanks for the solid service and making the purchase process uneventful.
I had a terrific experience start to finish with the folks at Poway Honda. They went above and beyond to meet my needs and I couldn t be more thrilled with my new Pilot! Thanks to Doc and Luis!
Excellent and painless: I like their honesty and attention to detail with custOmers. John in service and David (? The retired man) the driver are wonderful! So personable and courteous.
Just bought my second car here. Brittany was super helpful, and willing to take care of any extra thing she could. Lisa helped finance me. She went OUT OF HER way to make sure I got the best deal possible that was both financially beneficial for me and automotivly sound for the car. If I were to buy another car, I'd definitely go there again. Thanks for another great experience.
Best salesman and professional service you find from any car dealership in San Diego.the gentleman name Doc, made my sales easy and quick. I got financial advisor help me get lower interest rate on financing on used car, then I was quoted. Washed and gas up the car for me. Even offer to deliver to my home. This is far out way, but definitely worth the drive. Best prices for any vehicle.
I have a free oil change for life voucher that i got with my current car and I've been going here for maybe about 4 years for all my oil changes. I don't usually check my oil after my appointment but one time i did and noticed the oil cap wasn't put on and there was oil that splashed around in my engine bay. If i didn't check chances are i would have lost a lot more oil. The customer service is alright, nothing bad nothing great and the wait times vary from 70-110 minutes and i usually come in the middle of the week around lunch time. Overall, this isn't the go to Honda dealer i would take my car too but Poway is the only one that allows me to use my voucher, so it will have to do for now.
Christopher Melton was extremely helpful, accommodating and pleasant when I came in for my first service of my Honda civic 2015. Although I did not have an appointment, he was able to get me in and out in a very short period of time. Being pleasant and professional is a deciding factor to bring my car in for future services of my vehicle. Thank you Christopher for your help and service.
Poway Honda has always given my family and I great services on all our cars. They are quick and accurate with their work and always keep us informed on the work or findings. Can't go wrong with this place.
Best car buying experience! Garrett made it an experience that was fun yet to the point enjoyed working with him and all the staff at Honda. So pleased with my purchase and experience! If I could give more stars I would, thank you Poway Honda.
My overall buying experience was positive until I got to the Finance office (otherwise I would give them 1 star). I was pressured to buy Extended warranty while also saying that you have 60 days to change your mind and get your money back. The Honda finance manager told me on my face that Honda's are unreliable in Hybrid technology...so that's why you need Extended warranty. Anywho, I bought the warranty but changed my mind. I submitted my paperwork at the dealership and started checking in on status of refund. When it was 5 months with no refund, I started calling everyday but got no response from the Finance guy who sold me the warranty. Finally a new hire helped me and said they "lost" my paperwork and my refund was never processed. I don't know if they hope that you will forget about it or they are inept at filing paperwork!! Still waiting for my refund....it will be 6 months tomorrow!
I bought a used 2012 Toyota Camry here. This was my second time purchasing a used car at Poway Honda. The service and experience from the first time a year ago were great, hands down. This time, not so much!
I could have bought the car the first day I came but somehow, they lost the key to the car (they said a mechanic accidentally took the key or something). So I wasted 2 hours there for nothing. I live near SDSU so it was far and 2 costly Uber drives. So I had to schedule and comeback another day. I didn't mind going there but it was hard to schedule with my co-signer because he's busy most of the time.
I came back a few days after, had a test drive, everything went fine, and I bought the car (got a small discount for all the hassle before that). I came home that night and realized 2 things: there was no floor mat in the driver's seat and bluetooth from the stereo didn't work (it beeps when I pressed on the touchscreen but it didn't go to the bluetooth or phone setup).
I remembered when I test drive the car, the floor mat was there (they used an all season one for test drives so the regular one was in the trunk) and somehow it went missing. About the stereo, I drove back there early next morning to get it checked out. They said they wouldn't fix it because I didn't have warranty for the car and they would only fix something regarding safety issues. Now I know the car has over 100k miles and there isn't warranty anymore and I rejected their warranty package during the purchasing process, but this isn't something that gets broken after I drive for a while. I literally brought the car back early next morning and I drove the car off the dealership the night before. The Bluetooth was already broken before I purchased the car. I remembered it being not responsive while I was playing with it during the test drive but let's be honest, who would pay much attention to the stereo during a test drive (radio and sound setup were fine so I thought it was fine).
I then brought the car over to Toyota of Poway to get it checked out. They couldn't fix it and said I would have to replace the whole stereo for over $1000. I had to pay $65 for nothing. Now I am getting it fixed from a service outside and hopefully, the stereo will be fixed.
I called and emailed Poway Honda about the floor mat and they said they would get back to me soon but they haven't (I totally forgot about it when I brought the car to get the stereo checked out).
So, overall, I had a bad experience purchasing the car. Driving back and forth was frustrating with the distance and all that traffic. Maybe I should have checked everything thoroughly before purchasing so I could get the price a bit lower.
Henry one of the staff at Poway Honda was very helpful. He was very patient through the whole process explaining everything leaving no stones unturned. He is an asset to the company and I would not mind recommending Honda to my friends when you have guys like Henry in their force. I would give an excellent rating for what I have experienced in my dealings with Poway Honda. Kudos well deserved! Rene Encarnacion.
We had a very enjoyable day with everyone. Starting with Mike Fein, who showed us the car we were looking for and all of the features of the car. Gary Lobel, with Mike, giving us a very good deal and did not rush us in making a decision or try and push things we were not interested in. Lisa Schaerrer, who went over the financing and options in very understandable terms without rushing us in making any decisions on which options to purchase. Finally, Kristi Rangel, who helped me with setting up my appointment for LoJake installation and understanding all that was involved, along with very helpful information as to where the best place would be to have the install done. This team worked very well together.
We had both a great and not so great experience with this dealership. Our sales guy, Stacey was wonderful! He was not pushy and was very informative, he did an amazing job. On the other hand, Lisa ( I think that's her name), the lady who did all the contracts/signing did a terrible job. She just wouldn't take no for an answer when we told her we did not want the extended warranty. After about 10 times of telling her we weren't interested she became very rude and unprofessional making remarks that only people with no common sense wouldn't want it. When we were signing the contract, we noticed the price was higher than what we had already agreed on and when we mentioned that to her she said," Okay, is this going to be a deal breaker or not? Because I have a lot of people waiting!" Never in a million years do you say that to a customer, what is wrong with her!? Then Stacey came in and stated that the price was in fact higher that we had agreed on, and she did not apologize for her rudeness. She ruined our new car buying experience with her attitude and being unprofessional. Stacey made up for it though. He cheered us up afterward and left us with not as much distaste for the dealership.
Very poor handling of my CRV airbag recall. They assure you me it was not the case but I suspect the only reason they fixed mine is because I insisted, after waiting 3 months, on a loaner. Then they fixed it in one day. It's too long to tell here but the whole experience was bad, even for a dealership.
I made an appointment online to have my Civic's passenger airbag inflator replaced. While I stood by my car at the service entrance for around 10 minutes before anyone got around to helping me, I was eventually helped by service advisor Marco Lopez-Ramirez. Marco was friendly and great to work with. He estimated 2 hours 5 minutes, but the airbag service, complimentary vehicle inspection, and complimentary carwash was completed in just one hour. I asked him to text me when it was ready since my phone has not been receiving calls reliably, and Marco was willing to do that from his own cell. Thanks!
My first experience here was less than ideal. Long wait times, hard to reach service advisors, and untrustworthy technicians who didn't even bother looking at my car.
But that being said, I reached out to the GM and the Service Manager and they made everything right. Communication was spot on, detailed information about diagnosis process and repair, and Evan, the Service Manager, making sure my concerns were dealt with. They've restored my trust and I will be taking my car back if and when needed.
The battery was dead. It was a faulty battery that Honda installed. The good news is that it was under warranty, so they replaced it free of charge. Unfortunately it took multiple phone calls on my part for them to give me a status on what was wrong. When you say you'll call me in the morning to let me know, I don't expect to have to call you four times, and not get an answer until the afternoon!
Got my car through Costco Auto Sales. The persons helping me were Brian Mallow and Paul Cheng., and Lynn Kealy All three were extremely nice and answered all my questions. The transaction was as painless as could be. They went above and beyond my expectations
I like taking my car here because of the fact that the service department has the software to keep up with my honda needs and history. The service department team is always informative about vehicle's real needs. During this covid situation Honda Service are taking all the precautions necessary to take care of the customer and themselves. Andrew helped me out and I was appreciative of his professionalism. Thank you...
Wow! Amazing people and service. Hats off to CORTNEY PLAZIAK. She honoured what was promised and no questions asked. Not even asked to show the quote from other dealer. I told her, i have this offer and she matched and provided the best experience. She even drove my car to home as I was driving another car. Garrett was awesome too! You people rock. Thanks and keep it up!
Service advisor Al Rodriguez was really personable and fantastic!. Brought my new Civic in due to recall notice, while there I asked about purchasing and having mud flaps installed Once Al found out they were in stock, he made sure I was able to get them installed on same visit . Overall fantastic service experience
I have been going to Poway Honda for many years. I purposely buy my cars there so that I can utilize them for service. I have never had a problem with anything, I've had service there to just keep my maintenance up. Nyphon Vue is such a help in keeping my car running smoothly. I can definitely recommend Poway Honda for sales and service.
Al was very helpful and efficient for the installation for a new car battery. He was quick to diagnose the issue and within minutes I had a new battery and was on my way. Great customer service as always from Honda of Poway
Got my car through Costco Auto Sales. The persons helping me were Brian Mallow and Paul Cheng., and Lynn Kealy All three were extremely nice and answered all my questions. The transaction was as painless as could be. They went above and beyond my expectations
Excellent service, and suggestions for what needed to be done for my car. The people I dealt with were all knowledgeable and professional. Will return for future service to Poway Honda.
The work on my car started right on the scheduled appointment time. I was cheerfully and professionally greeted, and given a very reasonable expectation on when the work would be completed. The Poway team delivered on their commitments on finishing time and price. This was an excellent experience!
My husband and I have purchased many cars throughout years, but this buying experience was by far the best we've had. Timothy, are sales representative was so easy to work with, no pressure. He answered all of are questions that we had. After we signed the sales contract in financing, Timothy was right there to greet us and take us out to our new car. He sat down with us for a good hour and went through all the features of the car with patients to explain everything very throughly. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Poway Honda to my friends or family members. We love are 2017 Honda Accord! Thank you, Timothy and Poway Honda.
Shady dealership. Bait and Hook - Watch out - This might happen to you. This dealership listed a car that I test drove and signed the paperwork to hold. We negotiated a pick up in three days to allow smog. Tiffany called me and said the car had problems and was no longer available. The repair cost must have been higher than expected. They said the deal we made was no longer good BUT they had another car $3,000 higher and the same model. Can you believe that! I said no and now I am warning people to stay away. This might happen to you. Manager was Jim Breen and Salesperson was Tiffany Huynh. Stay away from this team. The Honda Civic is still listed.
I went in to buy a car and was attended right away by a salesman named Hong. He was very informative about the vehicles I had in mind and helped me choose the 2016 Honda Accord. I love my car!
I came to poway honda not to buy a honda but to check out a kia soul 2016 with low mileage..i met with Rodel, salesman, who seemed courteous and pleasant of his sales approach. The manager seemed considerate as i asked for little discount..however, the man who was crunching the numbers on the computer for me to see the total sales, blurted loudly my social security numbers infront of the staff and people at the counter. Before he could utter last 4 digits of my SS#s, courteously told him that he should not read aloud anyone's SS#s infront of people.. This man must be warned by mgmt of this kind of behavior.. incase i became a victim of identity fraud/theft i assumed it originates from this event encounter..
I have got 3 Services done for my Honda Civic with Poway Honda so far. The serves were all done very quickly with a max wait time of 90mins. Customer Launge has all the amenities required. Booking/ cancelling appointments is just a button click-away through Honda Link app. Advisors/ supervisors are quite knowledgeable and provide correct advise with regards to options available and the services that are required in future. I recommend Poway Honda as one of the best Honda dealers for reliable maintenance of Honda vehicles.
