The staff at the hospital was very nice, however, it took 7 months to receive a bill for my son when I delivered him here. They charged $3739 for Room and Board, Nursery...except there is NO nursery, and I was billed on my bill for my room. The billing department says "well he's considered a patient too and will be billed for his room", so I was literally charged twice to stay here and received a $5000 for my infant son who received no nursing care, no separate room (he never left my side), who slept in a plastic tub. On top of this billing will not return my phone calls and when my husband spoke to someone different, he was told "pay it or don't, we don't settle or discount." Ridiculous!

WORST HOSPITAL EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER RECEIVED. They had no idea how to treat my diabetes, one of my nurses didn t even know how to test my blood sugar. I had to ask for my iv to be flushed. One nurse left a flush pen in my iv which I had to remove myself, they let my blood sugar sit over 500 and refused me insulin for 5 hours.

Psychology department was out of their mind, they say you have some control over your experience but be little and demean you every step of the way. Rude people, horrible food, and people clearly do not care about their patients here!! If you don t tell them just enough they force you to stay, if you tell them too little they force you to stay longer. They think in terms of bodies on bed not in terms of people helped.

My mother had surgery here. The customer service for me waiting hours for the surgery to be done was above and beyond with updates every half hour. The nurses and staff were very nice and made sure my mother had everything she needed. I would recommend this place to everyone who needs a medical surgery done.

This is the worst treatment I've ever had at PVH UC Health. Front desk for check in was rude and ER staff wasn't any better! I felt like an inconvenience not a priority. I've been a patient for 25yrs at PVH. Very unprofessional staff! Especially when one of your staff members pointed to my room and was joking with anther staff member that I had menstrual cramps. But as incompetent as your ER was, i need to point out you volunteers were great.

I agree: why no zero stars? Every experience I have with this monster is horrible. They make up false, hugely-inflated prices and never give an honest answer. They will ruin you financially and laugh at you. They care only about money, not health or outcomes. You cannot trust anything they say.

I was scheduled for a total knee replacement at this facility and had high expectations. Afterall, PVH was now part of UCH and their whole system. I have used UCH and mostly been happy with the care I received over the past ten years. But PVH operates in a very different manner. The surgery went well. The surgeon is excellent and I didn't expect anything less. But once I got to the orthopedic floor why wasn't I assigned a hospitalist for my complicated medical conditions? Why would I see a physician only once during my 3-day stay, that being my surgeon. And I saw him on my operative day. So I didn't have a medical doctor to consult about serious questions about my complicated conditions. By the time I was discharged I was so confused about my discharge plan, meds, and who was in charge of what. I left that day with more questions and discontent than when I went in. Why did a fall risk patient have to wait 15 minutes for a call light to be answered. Why did that same patient need to do physical therapy without a recent dose of pain medication. And since when did physical therapists start delegating to their assistants so that on the day of discharge I didn't have a Doctorate level prepared therapist to ask questions of. All so disappointing. And quite frightening in some regards. Should I need my other knee done I don't know what to do to be able to keep my surgeon.

They do not send out statements to the correct address even when it is provided. They do not call. The billing office is unable to email you or fax a statement. They are rude and and do not follow up when asked to. Try talking to a supervisor you will wait and wait with no resolution. You will be overcharged for everything. Be prepared to talk in circle and reach a level of frustration. Finally 6 hours later we get the fax from them. The charges are absolutely ridiculous. I have no words.

Services were decent at time of care, however they will quickly send you to collections if any insurance information is wrong, with minimal attempts to contact you directly. Try a little harder to contact your customers so proper billing solutions can be set up. -_-

I would like to give 0 stars but 1 is the lowest I can give. Do not go to anything associated with UCHealth or Poudre Vally Hospital! I went unknowingly into an Emergency Room thinking it was an Urgent Care for an eye infection to get drops. They did nothing for me and then gave me a bill for $1100. How in the world can they justify that? For a 5 minute useless visit I get charged over a thousand dollars? What a rip off. I'll never step foot in any of their facilities again and I'll tell everyone else not to as well.

I was transferred from our local hospital to Poudre Valley Hospital ICU. I found the Staff to be very responsive to my needs and my families needs and questions. I was there for a week and all my interaction with the staff were very positive. I would recommend this hospital to my friends and family. Thank you for a very positive experience.

You let my Dad out too early and he was struggling with pneumonia. Now he is fighting for his life at McKee. This hospital has really gone down the drain. I think you should just close down. Do not bring you're loved ones here! You only care about money not life. This hospital is part of the problem with our healthcare. You also treat everyone like they are overreacting with their symptoms. We know our bodies better than anyone. If you go here and they just send you home. Please get a second opinion. Your life may rely on it! This is all based on more than one experience by the way. I worked at Mackenzie Place in Fort Collins and saw residents die painful deaths due to being sent home early. I had a staph infection once as well, went there for treatment and they told me I was fine. It almost killed me, luckily my family doctor was able to figure it out, or I wouldn't be here today. Be warned!

This was the worst hospital experience I ve ever had. I had to take my mother to the ER, in a different city, eight times last year alone so I have some experience. Administrative staff was competent but the ER doctor treated us like we were an inconvenience. He was curt, didn t explain much and processed a release before completing a test he originally requested. A dog at a kennel is treated better. Avoid this hospital if you can.

Pathetic, seemed to be more worried about getting my co pay then treating the patient. If you work here consider yourself a low level hospital that is designated in the middle of no where... Came out of there with more pain and a bill and seems like they did nothing.

About nine months ago I had to make a trip to the ER, care provided was fine no complaints. I paid my bill and thought that was it, but instead have been receiving a bill every couple months even though it was paid. I have tried to clear this misconception up multiple times to no avail and now a debt collector is involved. Thoroughly upset with them at this point.

It cost me $2500 for a minor visit and the assistant was awful. I'm still not convinced he knew what he was doing. It was brutal. Next time I'll just suck it up and not go to the ER, or at least not this one.

Although the care is good here, their billing policies are absolutely the worst I've ever experienced. Care was given in Jan '13 and in Oct. '14, I received a call from a collection agency stating that I hadn't paid for my treatment. I have insurance and a flex spending account as well as a health savings account. There was absolutely no reason this bill wasn't paid. Outside of the fact that my address was wrong in their system, all my other information was correct. I was never contacted via phone or email, nor did I ever receive a bill- they were sending the bills to the wrong address. When I called PVHS's billing department after the creepy call from the collection agency, they wouldn't help me because the account had already been sent to collections. Furthermore, I am in the process of refinancing my home and this fiasco has stopped my refi plans altogether. I am now out processing and handling fees for the collection agency and also for the lost interest rate on my home- I'm just glad I hadn't yet paid for an appraisal. I actually feel violated; not trying to be dramatic, but this experience has caused me great anxiety and distress. I wish I had never walked in their doors.

This is an accounting and review of my 1st and 2nd visit to your Emergency Room.
October 19, my first visit
Staff seemed friendly, knowledgeable and caring. I was in pain for 2 days, unable to eat, swallow or sleep before going to the ER.
These are the symptoms I reported.
1. Pain level 8-9
2. Unable to swallow, water or food
3. Severe pain in L ear
4. Ringing in R ear, louder than normal
5. Fever and cold sweats
6. Whole left side of throat from ear down to adams apple in pain
7. Abscess in throat
8. Unable to open mouth as normal
I was prescribed Augmentin, I asked for a pain med and was told to take Ibuprofen or acetaminophen. As what seemed to be an afterthought they gave me a booster. One of the Doctors looked at my throat and either failed to see or act on the abscess. Wait time for the booster was 15+ minutes. I was then released or as I felt, kicked out. I use the term kicked out because one should expect that when reporting to an ER to leave in a condition better than when reporting. That was not the case, I was still in severe pain and unable to eat or drink. I wanted to argue the denial of pain meds, but I m not the Doctor and having never had this condition before did not want to challenge an expert.
After picking up the augmentin I went to the cafeteria to try and eat some ice cream. I had to force feed myself because the pain was too great, I did not finish.
Over the next 3 days I endured extreme pain, hunger/nausea and little sleep. I continued taking the augmentin, forcing food and water. I know I was not eating or drinking enough because I only took in what I had to in order to take the meds.
October 22
Saturday night into the AM it started getting worse. At this point I m no longer eating or drinking. The back of my tongue feels bumpy, rough, burning and expanding. I feel my airway is now constricted. I cannot talk or open my mouth.
October 23 my second visit
These are the symptoms I reported as written on paper
1. Pain level 8-9
2. Unable to swallow
3. Severe pain in L ear
4. Severe ringing in ears
5. Fever and cold sweats
6. Back of throat is burning, feels rough, dry and constricted
7. Not eating or sleeping since October 17th
8. Lymph glands severally swollen
9. Mouth numb at times
10. Fever and cold sweats
Within about 5 minutes I was moved to another room, they got me hooked up, pain meds were given and pain subsided or was numbed. Dr. Runyan did what I feel should have been done on the first visit. Opening up and draining the abscesses. As painful as that was there was a marked improvement immediately and I felt relieved. After my release you could almost say I had a normal day.
With all that said, I am thinking about retaining an attorney, for what I believe to be neglect on my first visit, prompting the second visit.
I have detailed my experience to the best of my ability.
So with all that said I am not trying to put blame on any one individual, but do believe a mistake was made in regards to a Lack of Appropriate Service and or Lack of Service and Quality once again prompting that second visit.

I don t know why this hospital has so many negative reviews, because they are amazing here!! From the ER staff and doctors, to the cancer ward, pharmacy, ongoing infusion department and infectious disease every medical professional is highly competent, caring, and does their best to make you comfortable and educated. I imagine that a hospital is not where most people want or expect to be at, but when care is needed, this hospital is where you want to be!!! Thank you PVH!

I hope their ER facility is better but I did not notice that they had moved their ER until after I had unloaded my sick friend. Not well publicised! The new lobby is rather small. They close their cafeteria at 7:30 and the hours are not posted. I would bet that this was the the decision of a fat lame underworked department chair.
The absolute worst billing department I have ever ...
The absolute worst billing department I have ever dealt with in my life. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND ENERGY, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. Not only does the billing department have no idea what they are doing, their customer service representatives are awful. They are rude, they don't tell you anything that is helpful, make you feel stupid, and talk to you like you are in the wrong. They will bill for things without sending it to your insurance, pretend that they don't have your insurance information when you've given it to them time and time again and have verified it with multiple people, and make YOU submit a claim to an outside lab company when that is THEIR job in the first place and never explain to you why you are getting a bill from a random lab company you have never heard of that is not BBB accredited. I have spent so much time trying to work things out with these people and they are beyond rude and unhelpful. This is an industry of CARE. They do not seem to recognize this. I have spoken to other people that work in the healthcare industry in other states, explained the multiple situations I have had with them, and they can't believe the way the billing department performs. PVH, get it together.

It was better than McKee by a long shot. Decent care and staff, though I'd have appreciated if they hadn't removed my appendix when they realized it was my Fallopian tube. Still, I got my bill right away, it was clearly itemized, easy to set up a payment, and they got my information right the first time. A big difference from McKee, with whom I gave them the right info from the start yet had to correct multiple times and they still screwed it up, sent my bills to the wrong address, and then put it immediately in collections. I recently had hip replacement surgery at Poudre Valley Hospital and it went very well. I was very pleased with all the surgical staff. I spent the night in the Orthopedics unit and had excellent care. Pat on the back to all the nurses there. Good food too. Thanks to all for my surgery and care!

I gave birth on the second of this month, I had to say that during my brief stay, I liked the night nurse alot more than the day nurse. The day nurse seemed falsely chipper and though she was a licensed lactation consultant she failed to notice my newborns tongue tie even though I was complaining of breastfeeding trouble and my milk supply has suffered as a result. She also told me i was lazy because I asked for formula because my daughter was constantly hungry and there was a time she snapped at me saying, "Are you over feeding her?!"

Ill start by saying that not every employee at this hospital is worthless. There are some truly amazing staff members here. But the majority of the staff in the ER should not be allowed to practice any sort of medicine on a human being. They have no empathy, they dont listen, and above all they do not care. My boyfriend has been in and out of PVH for the past week straight with the flu, and he is also a type 1 diabetic so vomiting can escalate to high blood sugar really fast and a diabetic with high blood sugar for too long can die. Its a serious threat. He also has a past of cyclic vomiting and we have visited this ER multiple times in the past year for it. They started off by giving him too much pain medication, put his name on a watch list because of THEIR mistake and now anytime he goes in he is labeled a drug seeker and they even go as far as to search for track marks on his body. Then this morning we were back with the same cyclic vomiting, and since we are no stranger to this we have sort of an idea of what medication works and what doesnt. That being said, the ER doctor wanted to give him some medication that he had been taking at home and was ineffective. So my boyfriend told the doctor that that medication wasnt working. Instead of the doctor listening and working as a team with him to better his health he told him, "well i dont have to give you anything if i dont want to." that is clear abuse of power and malpractice. Yes you do need to do something. You need to help anyone and everyone who comes through that door seeking medical help. Thats your JOB. And to send a type 1 diabetic home thats throwing up with a history of DKA is negligant and could result in his death. This is not the last that PVH will be hearing of me. They have a pattern and history of malpractice, neglect, and of just being horrible care givers. I am definitely considering getting a lawyer and shutting this place down because this is beyond unnacceptable and i will no longer stand for it. Do not bring anyone you care about or yourself to this hospital. And i know that its certain staff members in the ER that are to blame because we are now sitting at MCR in loveland which is also UCHealth and we are getting the help we need, deserve, and are paying for.

consistently has been a place of prejudice. is it because of how I look and have Medicaid? probably. seems to be the case. Asks repeatedly to me and my husband if I have taken drugs and we tell them no, undermines patient trust and runs a drug test anyway it has happened every single time Ive gone there so I dont know why they even bother with asking me. I was coherent each time only thing strange about my behaviour was that I was in a lot of pain. The time I was admitted for a suicide attempt even less compassion. only person who was kind was the police officer/security guard
consistently have had a bad experience and it feels like it's because i was a medicaid patient and have visible tattoos so im obviously a lying-drug-using-POS
Im glad I wont be on medicaid soon..consistently keep getting sh** service...and it isn't until drug tests come back negative (which i never consented to so there was no reason to order them) that the demeanor changes.

This hospital "does" before consulting or asking what you prefer. There is no knowledge of what is happening until during or after the fact. They don't numb for IVs and claim do not have the ability to do so. The staff is mixed with amazing and terrible, so the gamble is high. If you like to have a say over your body or your kids, it is worth a drive to another hospital!

Had a partial knee replacement and had to spend a night.
Everyone was amazing! From the doctors to the nurses!
I woke up in recovery and they spoke softly and made sure to speak slowly with me.
And when I made it up to my room, they bought my husband and two little ones in to see me as soon as they could. They even complimented my husband on keeping our kiddies quiet in respects to everyone else in the waiting room.
They made sure I was comfortable and if I didn't feel comfortable, they did everything possible to make me feel that way.
The nurses made sure my water was always full and if I was hungry, they offered me food from this little pantry area. And the food was pretty good!
The physical therapist where so kind and helpful as well!
It was an amazing stay and I'm so thankful to everyone!

Was brought in for severe pelvic pain PID. They began treatment, but when my insurance came back denied they quickly bundled me up and sent me off to walk the hour back to my car at 9-10pm. I am a single very petite woman. Had to fight them to get me a cab and they assured me many times they would not pay for it even after my stating upon the request I would pay.
Terrible terrible hospital.

I would say this is the worst hospital i have ever been in. The reason i say this is back in September of 2016 we had just moved to fort Collins. My wife, kids and i were hiking in Estes when she collapsed as complained of a really bad headache we took her to the Estes hospital er they treated her with migraine meds and set is home she felt fine later that night however on that Monday 1 day later she woke up screaming in pain we called 911 and they took her to pouter valley hospital. On Monday when she arrived at pouder valley hospial they checked her over and could find anything wrong they gave her a ct and a cta looking for brain bleed and found nothing. then over the next 2 days they run a number of tests finding nothing till wed afternoon they peform a lumbar puncture and mri and decided she needs a blood patch however on Monday they took her off of here propranol. The radiologist recommended a blood patch because he thought she had a tear Between t7 and t8 vert. The doctor that was in the er thought that this would cause more harm than good. However they decided to peform this provedure telling Shannon that she would be Better with in hours which was not the case after the blood patch Shannon came up to the room screaming in pain distraught not knowing her husband of 15 years the doctors said it would get Better. now keep in mind that shannon has been there since Monday and it is now Thursday night at about 7 pm my wife is not getting better i call the head of the icu floor and get no answer and leave a message. I stick around the hospital till about 12pm that night and still no call from the head nurse.i return home that night and wake up the next morning i go to work and around 1or2 pm i get a call from the hospital nurse she said she hadn't heard from from the doctor but she thinks he will be calling me soon as I'm on the phone with the nurse the doctor calls me and said " your wife's condition is getting worse we would like to do another ct i said ok and rushed to the hospital as i walk in the room the doctor tells me your wife has a baseball sized brain bleed and we are sending her to medical center of the rockies. I sat there shaking my head trying to figure out how a patient gets worse in the hospital that are suppose to help then. My wife had to have a 4 hr brain surgery at uc auora now had epileptic or non epileptic seizures right side deffisit and is missing most of her vision in right eye. Pouder valley hospital is the worst ever hospital i have been in.

The Billing office is money hungry, greedy and heartless. Although I made monthly payments they still sent me to collections because I would not set up a payment plan with their designated high dollar monthly amount. I can't afford to commit to more than $200 every month when I am paying multiple places. They got what I could afford each month. If it weren't for the fact I have great Drs I would NOT go to UCHealth PVH.

Went in with symptoms of a heart attack. Ran a few tests and cardio was ok aside from abnormal EKG. Still had symptoms. Dr just said there was nothing he could do so he sent me home with prescription for Zofran and told me to follow up with PCP. Didn't even come talk to me about it, had nurse tell me. So here I am waiting for my ride, still having chest pains, jaw pains and arm pain. BP is high and my ekg was abnormal. Oh well. I definitely wouldn't advise anyone gong to PVH.

I came in with a horrible cut finger. I drove.clear from Livermore. This hospital was so caring and took such good care of me. The doctor was funny and so were the nurses. I'm so thankful that this hospital was the closest to our home. I completely recommend the emergency department. What great people. Thank you so much for taking such good care of me

I have 25 years of bad stories, starting with my own birth. I'd sue if I thought it would help. This hospital is "too big to fail" though. So they just keep growing and hurting people. Avoid if you possibly can. Don't call 911 anywhere in Larimer County; all ambulances will take you to PVH even if you beg to go elsewhere. They will drive past Banner Health and other hospitals to take you to PVH because that's who they have a contract with. It's disgusting.

All of the staff at PVH was helpful and caring during my husband's 6-day stay in the hospital. I was particularly impressed the hospital doctor, Dr. Myers, who visited every morning to give us clear, concise updates on my husband's blood tests and his condition, as well as the specialist, Dr. Ahuja, who spent time with us every morning going into great detail explain to update us on the potential diagnoses, causes and treatment plans with us.

I took my 15 year old daughter last week for a head injury. She had the normal work up and they didn't see any need to do a scan, but gave her some ibuprofen and Tylenol and would check on us in 45 minutes. They were very prompt about coming back, but when my daughter told the nurse her headache had lessened and still lingering (which we expected this to happen with a head injury), the nurse looked at us and said" We don't give narcotics for head injuries ". Never did we say or even imply we wanted something stronger. I know that there are A LOT of drug seekers out there, but definitely not us. Was very disappointed in her professionalism

We had a DISGUSTING experience in Poudre Valley and Medical Center of the Rockies. The doctors and nurses here are not interested in your good health, but in your money only. They are rude, have no intelligence and liars. They will do anything to get your money.
In 2009 , when our first child was born, the nurse told us, that they would take blood from our baby's hill. When we asked her if we have right to refuse the test, she said no. It was a lie. When the unnecessary blood test was done, which was very painful for our baby, nurse came back and said, that she had just found out it was our right to refuse the blood test.
In 2010, when our 2nd child was born in Poudre Valley Hospital, a nurse gave to me a hearing screening agreement and said, we could decline the screening, if we didn't want it. I told her, that we didn't want it and signed up the agreement; she wrote: "Parent declined screening". But they did it anyway and Dr. Kirsten Sampera explained it this way: "You will not pay for this test, your insurance will". We didn't care who would pay, we just didn't want the test.
People, stay away from Poudre Valley Death System!

Very disappointed. Incompetent.Never Sent me my billing statement. After three phone calls of establishing my address, I still did not receive my billing statement, what I did receive in the mail was a collector billing me for the poudre valley hospital bill. HOW is this possible when I never even received my bill... ruining my credit because of their negligence! Horrible thieves and crooks if you ask me.

I went in after having severe chest pains and blackingout for the last 3 weeks. my pc had told me she thinks I have a heart condition. I explained to the er doc the possible conditon as well as the blacking out, getting dizzy and extreme chest pain. she had never heard of the heart condition, told me it was anxiety and gave me ativan, even though I very clearly told her I did not want an ativan. needless to say, the drug sedated me, but definitely did not help my chest pain. the doctor said she still thought it was anxiety as my tests didn't show anything. then I was discharged.
everything I said wasn't taken seriously and I am still in so much pain...thanks for nothing

Horrible hospital, went in and told the dr whats going on and got treated like i was making everything up and just wanted narcotics. On top of that they ignored me for an hour and had the clean up crew come into my room and grab things like i wasnt even in there. Had nurses leave the door open when i was changing. Not happy at all.

My wife has had excellent care care both times she has had surgery. Her hernia surgery was like in and out. then her biopsy on her pancreas was easy in and out. They saw some cells that looked ok but because they didn't want to take a chance, they gave us a great referral and eliminated and chance of my wife getting cancer from the cyst. Great doctors and great staff.
Also my mother recently had to go in. There was a small mix up at first. Once they knew what was needed to be done, it went smooth.

One of those places that will condescend to you and treat you like a drug addict even after your tests come back free of any illicit substances, then use that attitude as an excuse not to give you very relevant testing.. I *SERIOUSLY* consider whether the percentage chance of death is high enough before I go here.

Worst experience ever. Took forever just to figure out what happened to my gf. When we got there the nurses acted like she was a science experiment and she was left in the dark in everything. While they did help her and I always will applaud a hospital for helping the sick the service here was horrible.

Worst ever Doctor and Nurse in the ER on June 20th 2017. In 29 years of dealing with PVH have never had the patient so neglected. Dr. Robert ( Bobby) Mosiman. Would not admit for dehydration. Would not listen about concerns. Ended Back up in the ER the next day day admitted for dehydration and infection. He belongs at Kaiser.

I had a nurse administer an IV in ER for my food poisoning. She was angry about her Doctor boyfriend (yeah I was nosey and listening), and ended up tearing out my IV in a fit, then trying to jam it back in. IV opposite side of my elbow. I have never seen anything so gross. Next thing I know the nurse apologizes to me...that's a first.... and A doctor steps in, kindly explaining that if he does not repair the lengthwise tear in the vein that unfortunately that will kill any person due to bleeding out. It was like a horrible soap opera. Except I had to pay a lot for it.

I have a son in the NICU and he has come up with so many problem and half were never even mentioned to me by staff. I've caught some problems with my son, mentioned it, and was completely blown off until about a week later and they finally said yeah you're actually right. I got a C-section here and Ig was badly infected. A lot of the nurses in the NICU are nice but the way the do things around here is just not right.
I had been feeling sick with pressure in my chest ...
I had been feeling sick with pressure in my chest and head along with pain in my upper back. I was also having trouble with my blood pressure being high and my heart racing; Thursday night I was running errands with my Husband when I started feeling dizzy and struggling with confusion getting worried enough to overcome my fear of Covid my Husband and I decided to go to the emergency room at Poudre Valley by the time we arrived I was in really bad shape my blood pressure top number was over 200 my heart rate was really high and they told us my white blood count was high as well at this point my confusion had worsened and I truly don't remember a lot of what was going on just fear a ton of pressure in my head and my chest hurting my Husband said they ran a bunch of test including EKG and scans both with and without dye and couldn't find what was causing what they called a critical hypertension event. They ran a ton of blood test including tests for sepsis, they even gave me IV antibiotics for sepsis just in case at this time my Doctor told my Husband she was going to give me Ativan to bring down my heart rate and blood pressure after a few it seemed to help and the confusion lifted some though I was still really rough she explained that they didn't know why I had the event and that nothing had come back in my scans or test though my blood work for bacteria wouldn't be back for a couple days. They released me and told me to see my Doctor for a follow-up and though I was still scared about what had happened to me and why it had happened I had no choice but to trust that they knew what they were doing, the next day I go see my Doctor and we agreed to set up a new appointment to really dig into what happened and prevent it from happening again. It's now Sunday Father's Day my boys and I set up a day out for my Husband and though I still feel really terrible we go out to dinner with our older son and his wife to Dinner where I received a phone call from a Physician from Poudre Valley Hospital that my blood work had come back with a rare bacteria and that I needed to come back to the emergency room right away, to say I was terrified can't quite describe how I was feeling so we leave dinner and head in only for the emergency room to get me back get in a IV all the bells and whistles on me all the while trying to figure out who called and what test had come back, well after a short time of fear while I still feel so sick turns out it was a contaminated blood draw this alone would be mildly frustrating because it scared me but I am not one to get overly upset over a mistake it was the Doctors behavior that really upset me see this is only second time in my Fourty years of life I have written a negative review but his behavior and the false information he gave to make me feel like the problem was nothing more then anxiety he was condescending and tried to make me feel like what happened to me was either something I brought on myself or in my head, he actually tried to tell me Ativan does not bring down heart rate or help lower blood pressure so I just thought it was somewhat helping me when really he didn't think anything was wrong with me. I have never been as scared as I was the night I ended up at the hospital I had never felt that way before but was told that the Ativan would help stabilize everything until my Doctor could help me figure out what had caused the situation. I followed everything I was told to do I was called in scared and unsure of what was happening and instead of being treated like a person that deserves the best medical care not because I have a ton of money or the best insurance ever but because I am a living human being with a Husband I love kids I love and a life I would like to continue living I was treated like another thing on the to do list get in get out. We go to the Hospital when we are at our most scared and vulnerable times of our lives the least you could do is not add to the terror and treat us like you would someone worth healing.

I cannot say enough good things about the care I received during my emergency c-section and the care my son received during 16 days in the NICU at PVH. We will always be grateful for our doctors and nurses during that time! They were professional, empathetic, listened to us, and took amazing care of our preemie.

I was placed on a mandatory suicide watch(m-1) and found out what kind of care people really receive here. None. They look out for the important big spenders and leave the less fortunate out to dry. This place will be talking with my attorney and we will be settling either in or out of court. Start bringing in the best you got cause y all are done

Tried calling the hospital twice and the phone just rang and rang. I let it ring both times over 10 times and NO ONE picked up. I've never dealt with a hospital that doesn't answer the phone like this. Not a good business practice there at all.

The last time my son was at this hospital was 11/2018. We have paid in full all bills from this Health System. I was assured on the phone several months ago, that the balance on my son's account was 0. Fifteen months later, we are still receiving bills and I am wondering about unethical and/or inept tracking of our payments. This facility has been investigated by the state of Colorado, for unethical practices. I wonder if these unethical practices extend to continuing to charge families for services, that were long since paid.

WARNING to anyone seeking medical treatment from Poudre Valley Health Systems, this organization is interested in one thing and that's getting your money.
I'm new to Northern Colorado, and scheduled a routine physical with my new PCP a further outpatient procedure was recommended to follow up on prior condition that has been under control for years. I have full insurance coverage.
After 3 attempts to schedule this procedure, I finally got it done with little trouble. This outpatient procedure found that my prior condition is in remission.
As a result of this routine follow up, I ended up being changed $2000 out of pocket...absolutely got scammed. The staff's behavior is motivated by one thing, charging customers for unneeded procedures then collecting on those bills. They've attempted to get me to take out an interest baring loan by telling me it was a hardship consideration application...it was a loan application. The procedure in question was solely routine follow up to an existing condition and it was termed "diagnostic" which triggered the $2000 payment out of pocket. Repeated attempts to speak with the doctor in question have gone nowhere. The staff has been a complete road block to getting any resolution. There is now no way to get the record corrected to show this procedure as routine, which would take care of the error and significantly lower my payment.
I cannot more strongly recommend that anyone in Northern Colorado or Wyoming looking at PVHS...SEEK TREATMENT ELSEWHERE...this is the single worst medical experience of my life (of which there have been many).

Actual quality: poor to worse. I would've sworn I posted a review here but it seems to have disappeared. In summary, do not go to this hospital unless you're forced to, are nearly dead, or just like being kicked around. Most unpleasant medical industry experience I've had to endure in a long time.

Went in last night for a stomach virus or food poisoning. I had a great experience. I genuinely thought I wasn't going to make it long because I couldn't keep down a sip of water. I was in so much pain when I walked in I couldn't even stand up. The staff was friendly and fast. I got in right away and within minutes had fluids, nausea medication, and pain medication. The doctor and staff were amazing and I can't thank them enough for taking away the pain.

I have been an EMT for almost 20 years. My family has had a history of CVAs, in two cases, killing both of my parents. Anyway, yesterday I started to get the signs & symptoms of a stroke. (I've had several episodes before, I am in my mid50's, do NOT smoke, do NOT drink, and do NOT do any drugs. After the doctor concluded that "there's nothing wrong with you", I was shown the door. When I asked to be held overnight for observation, the nurse in charge was BELLIGERENT when I ask that the doctor discuss this with me. "He has other patients to tend to." (As well as a few other things, under her breath.)She made it very clear that I had to move on. When I expressed my concerns, she said "there's another hospital in town, ya know." When I said that I wouldn't sign the discharge papers, she said that she was going to put me down as "AMA". Against medical advice". I did HAVE to go to that "other" hospital last night, and here I lay, under a close watch by PROFESSIONALS.

In December 2015, my father in law was admitted to the ICU and he had to make the painful decision of being taken off of life support (yes, not all life support patients are unconscious). The nurses and doctors were so wonderful and compassionate during this incredibly difficult time. They answered all of our questions about the process and were very patient with us. Know that you and/or your loved ones will be taken great care of in the ICU dept.

The billing department here is terrible. I was sent to collections even though my bill was already paid by the local Fort Collins government. Reading the other reviews on here, it appears that billing department mishaps are common. This is unacceptable and shows a lack of any real caring about people's financial well-being. PVH's billing department simply functions poorly and is disrespectful towards their customers.

that's right, i HATED this place. i just moved here about three months ago from new jersey and the wait in any ER in that area is going to be a LONG time, about six hours. but even so, the staff is WAY more friendly and competent than this place will ever be.
first off, i waited probably three hours total this entire time. somebody took my blood pressure within the first 30 minutes. after that, i waited another two hours before somebody came to grab me. as soon as i got in the room, the nurse immediately was rude to me. she asked me what was wrong, and i explained to her that i got in a car accident the night before and i was just now starting to feel pain in my lower back. its so bad that i can't even bend over and sleeping is AWFUL. she insulted me for not taking tylenol before i showed up in the ER. first off, who is she to even know my personal preferences? sorry i'm not like the rest of America in the sense that i don't like to pollute my body with medications that only hurt me in the long run. not only that, but i'm homeless at the moment and don't want to waste my only money on such awful things. she even told me, "well tylenol is only a couple dollars," as she's giving me the DIRTIEST look with the most awful attitude. i was so mad i could have slapped her so hard. after that, the doctor showed up only to not take me seriously and only told me that its normal to feel pain within 48 hours of an accident and all he can do is prescribe me medication or i can just ice it and buy my own medication. (i could tell they were making fun of me the entire time just by the dirty looks). and any time i even opened my mouth, i felt as if they were mocking me the entire time. ASSHOLES. i was so mad i just told them i'll do my own thing. they're lucky i didn't flip out right then. seriously. i don't even go out of my way to write reviews, but this time i am. and the man who is paying my hospital bill IS NOT HAPPY AND YOU WILL DEFINITELY BE HEARING FROM HIM.
since i refuse to ever show my face in that horrifying place ever again, i've opted with going through the insurance company to direct me to a place better than this scum. they actually asked me if i'd like to go to the hospital and my response was, "hell no. those people were so rude to me and didn't take me seriously one bit, and i'm super pissed about it." its sad that a car insurance company could be so much nicer than a freakin HOSPITAL. unfortunately i don't have the diagnosis paper in front of me, otherwise i'd definitely rat out the names of the individuals who were so awful to me.
DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT GOING TO POUDRE VALLEY HOSPITAL UNLESS YOU HATE YOURSELF AND WANT TO WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY. THESE PEOPLE DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU.
by far some of the most awful people i've met in fort collins to this day.
