Had surgery at this location. They waited one year to bill me for the remaining balance without any communication in between. Then when I tried to set up a payment plan the staff member was incredibly rude over the phone. Please go to Banner and avoid this hospital unless you enjoy surprise bills and rude customer service.

Having lived in FC since the 60's, I feel like I can speak from a lot of experience with this hospital. My honest observation based on a variety of experiences is that PVH is a fairly large entity that employs a LOT of folks, some of whom are exceptional, many who are average and a few who should simply be fired. I have encountered all three. I consider it "par for the course", when you are dealing with so many different people in different positions.

I have been coming to the hospital 3 days a week for 2 years or more to work out in the Pulmonary rehab gym downstairs. I consider the technicians who help me as friends and mentors and sometimes the roles are reversed. That is what being human is all about ... give a little, take a little and always always be grateful for the folks who dedicate their lives to helping each of us.

My request is this: anytime you are angry about what did or did not happen, contact first the folks you were dealing with. Secondly, please commit to putting as much energy into positive feedback as negative. My mantra in my work life has been to "praise in public", "punish in private".

And cut some slack for people who might just be having a bad day, because working with folks who are sick and in pain is no picnic and it is best to be kind to folks who are helping you to get well, birth babies, stay alive ....

Went to Poudre valley emergency room after I fell off my skateboard and tell them every time I move my arm it feels like my collarbone dislocates. The doctor I don't know if I even want to call him that took an x-ray said it wasn't just located and sent me out the door. Was still bothering me two weeks later so I went to a physical therapist as soon as she felt my collarbone and moved it she exclaimed oh my God you need to see a doctor for this!! I told her I had gone to the emergency room and they said it wasn't broken or dislocated she said they are wrong. Everytime I move it , it dislocates. I have an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon tomorrow not at Poudre valley.

Scary to be in a town with a chronic illness and t...

Scary to be in a town with a chronic illness and this as its only health care system. I moved from Seattle where they actually have medically trained people and facilities.

If you can - go to Loveland: Medical Center of the Rockies where they actually have trained medical staff.

The entire system, from family PCP's to the ER is a freaking nightmare. I haven't had healthcare this bad since the east coast 20 years ago. The staff are illiterate and the doctors are incompetent. (actually some ER nurses are nice but they're stuck working for total jerks).

After having many fine appointments with Dr Loy at Family Health Care of the Rockies over the past year, all summer I've been unable to schedule with her. She is either out of the office or booked. They allow you to call at 7AM to see if there's a "same day" appt available - who is that convenient for???? But they don't have any other regular availability.

Beware - it is hard to find a good doctor in this town. There are not many to choose from and therefore the ones that are here know they don't have to serve their patients well - there's no competition.

I came from Seattle where I could get a same day appt no prob.

Recently I developed a recurring bladder infection. I had blood in my urine. I was not able to get an appt with a Doctor so I was forced to go to Urgent Care and wait. and wait. and wait. Finally got in and got an RX for antibiotics. They didn't work. I was able to get in to FHCR and see another provider in Dr Loy's office. This doctor accused me of having gonorrhea or syphilis, despite being married for 6 years. She insisted on testing me for it ( they were neg. of course). She also chastised me for stopping the medication which caused the UTI (and was RX'd by a different doctor when I know full well it's ok to stop a med that's causing me problems). She finally rx'd me another antibiotic which worked.

A month later, after trying the med which caused the first UTI a second time on the advice of my neuro, it gave me another UTI immediately. I went to Urgent Care again on a Sunday. They rx'd me an antibiotic. It gave me side effects. On Monday I called my PCP to inform her of the side effects and ask for a new med. They refused to help me, didn't have any appointments with any doctors and told me to call Urgent Care, even though they had my medical records and lab results and RX's in their computer system. (in Seattle, (and in any civilized doctor's office) my PCP would have changed the rx over the phone). I called Urgent Care and they, of course, told me to call my PCP.

Since neither office would see me, I went to ER and waited 5 HOURS. Finally, after the ER doc failed to submit my tests to the lab after 5 hours of waiting, I told them I had to leave and can I get my different antibiotic now. So they told me they would email it to my pharmacy. I waited til the next AM and went to the pharm to pick up the RX. They never received it from ER. OF COURSE. So I called the ER who refused to help me and were too illiterate to read my computer chart/records. I called my PCP and told them what happened and to ask to be seen or for a new RX. They refused to help me (wouldn't change my RX or get y in for an appt) and put me on hold forever. So I drove over there. I went into the office and said "you had me on hold so long, I'm here to fix this". They said, "oh, let's make you an appointment in 2 weeks when she's available." I said "no, look in your computer at my lab tests from the past 2 days and give me a new antibiotic." They refused. I saw Dr. Loy walk right by the front office and ignore me. I said "I'm not leaving until you fix this" and so they threatened to call security.

I've never been treated like a criminal by my medical providers in Seattle. I've never been treated so bitchy or negligently by a medical provider ever. Do I really have to go through this to get an antibiotic that doesn't give me side effects for a recurrent UTI? Basically, I was refused medical treatment by the entire PVHS in Fort Collins. Negligent.

I have only been there once for my daughter in the ER and once for an MRI. It was average care, probably better for a small town like Fort Collins. I used to live in LA where unless you have a gunshot and are bleeding to death you can count on a 6 hour or more wait and the staff's eyes are pretty glazed over from overwork and seeing too much horror.

My doctors are in Longmont and affiliated with Longmont United Hospital. My doctors are great and I couldn't find any doctors in Fort Collins even close to the quality of care that I get in Longmont. The hospital there is excellent, the ER staff are wonderful and efficient and when I was admitted I was treated very well also and the food was wonderful.

The staff all were kind and considerate. Very helpful and compassionate! Felt safe from all the cleaning and procedures being done to protect me from viruses. Any future medical needs in my family will be done here. Thank you!

We have had extensive experiences with PVH, and like any organization (especially one that has gone through a major merger in the past few years) they do an excellent job.

We've had three kids there and are pregnant with a 4th. While there are always things that are annoying or things that go wrong, we've always had very caring and professional staff and in our stays after babies we have always felt taken care of, respected and listened to.

While I can't speak to everyone else's experience, we would recommend PVH for labor and delivery, ER, and Urgent Care.

I echo the other reviewers in saying that the billing is complete garbage. The last time we dealt with them, instead of being local they were located in TX and couldn't care less about a billing mistake PVH made. I hope the billing process has improved. We'll see in the a couple months.

Everyone in the emergency room is unqualified to be here. NEVER go here for mental health anything. They will only refer you to mountaincrest and nothing else. You WILL get abused while at mountaincrest. No one in Fort Collins is remotely equipped to handle mental health. Go somewhere else.

The staff was very unprofessional, they said we choose to live so far away so it's our fault if my daughter goes into labor later tonight during a storm and the free way is closed. So I was told her safety and the safety of her unborn child (mind you she's past her due date) doesn't matter to them. That since we live far away that we don't have the right to a safe delivery. I am blown away by their level of discrimination and ignorance. We will be finding another hospital or a mid wife to deliver the baby first thing in the morning. I don't feel like this is a safe place to give birth.

As a family member of an elderly patient I was surprised at how little consideration was given to the desires and will of either the patient or family. This was not an admission but rather an inhouse observation. The patient was forced to stay an extra day in the hospital and was not allowed to return to his place of residence. When hospice was requested, only obstruction was given. Decisions by staff were made without regard for the patient's will. This made it the hospital stay from hell. Nonetheless the physical care given the patient was excellent, even if his desires were not heeded.

I am disappointed by how PVH does not incorporate the family centered values that MCR has put into place. I was not allowed to go back to PACU with my wife at any point after her surgery and was asked to wait in the family area on arrival to the floor. PvH needs to take a look at the culture and values of MCR!

Excellent. Just had a Colonoscopy at Pouder Valley Hospital, FC. Dr. was Michael Nosler, MD. Anesthesiologist was Dr. Gelerie D. Stenbakken. Also 3 nurses in GI lab. Everyone very friendly, competent, and helpful. Nurses explained what they were doing and why as they were doing it. Same with Anesthesiologist. Very comfortable to be with them. Dr. Nosler completed the procedure, finding a polyp which was removed. A report was prepared and I received a copy with color stills taken during the procedure. So far I have felt no ill effects or side effects of the procedure. I know I had a colonoscopy and I have the report, but so far, no symptoms what so ever from the actual procedure... its as if I did not have one... which I expect is high praise for those who are knowledgeable enough to do this kind of thing. Thanks! At this point appears to be a job well done.

A year ago my daughter was born here but my doctor failed to notice that I was developing Eclampsia and did not feel my concerns for my blood pressure were worthy of her attention. The nurses were great but I ended up spending an additional TEN days in the hospital to get my blood pressure to stabilize on medicine another doctor FINALLY prescribed me when I was transferred into another doctor s care. It was terrible and traumatizing for me because if I hadn t advocated for my health I could have had serious consequences on my life. Dr Sebesto had her pride hurt when I questioned her on not discharging me with Blood pressure medication was hostile when she saw that I was readmitted and then verbally attacked me in front of my husband and a patient advocate who was asking why I had returned to the hospital. This was my third c-section and fourth child not my first rodeo and she had the audacity to tell me that she couldn t treat me for a headache . I had a headache from all the stress this was putting me through as I was away from my newborn trying to keep from passing out from high blood pressure. The nurses were amazing but the doctor was an idiot. If you can avoid having a baby here I would recommend MCR or anywhere else but here!
