We were there for a fooservice show. The hall was clean and the flow was nice. It must have been a little noisy because when I asked the bartender about water, her response was to say they had beer wine and pop ( even though there was a visible container filled with bottled water) when I said isnt that bottled water behind you, she replied with a tone that I didn't ask about water. Either she really didn't hear me the first time or was just genuinely confused I don't know. But other than that we had a good time. They had plenty of garbage cans so ididnt have to carry my empty sample plates around for very long

We really enjoyed the Pheasant Run Resort. We stayed in the tall tower of rooms after a wedding in the area. The rooms were updated and very clean. We had breakfast and toured the property and wished we could have been there on a warmer day then we would have stayed to golf. The golf pro shop was really nice, and the staff were friendly and happy to tell us all about the property and it's many amenities. Next visit, we will schedule time in the spa.

Stayed here with a Groupon.....was excited to stay in the "king suit" the first picture was in our sink in the bathroom not too sure what it was but it was too far down to be from brushing your teeth...the glass was sitting outside our door when we checked in and was still there when we checked out....the shower was nasty didn't drain. The elevators, the doors opened before it was lined up with the floor you were going too then came too and abrupt stop making the elevator car bounce as you were trying to get off. Our friends stayed in the room next to us which was nice the made that possible when we checked in. We were asked by the housekeeping "when we were leaving" at 10am while walking back into our rooms to get our stuff....a table in front of the elevator had food on it from 8pmish and was still there when we checked out at 11...long story short the building was nice but the king suite was a filthy joke.

Two nights there over Spring Break. Massive Disappointment.
To start, we checked in on 3/26/19 to room 309, which, if you ever get, has a handle that is so badly damaged, that each time I needed to enter the room, after the key card showed a green light, I had to jiggle the handle and shove the door open with my shoulder. This took, on average, 3 attempts each time.

The room itself showed significant signs of wear (photos included). The chair was dirty. Mold and mildew in the A/C and heating vents. Mildew on the shower curtain and I would not get into that shower without flip flops. Pheasant Run opened in... 1963? It smelled as if it had not had significant improvements since then.

However, I'm on a stay-cation and trying to view it all with a little sense of humor, so...we are going to adjust.

Quickly, though, it became clear that what Pheasant Run advertised on its site for amenities, dining, and activities, was not actually true.

Outside of the room concerns, their menus, brochures, and website show options for entertainment and dining. The Clubhouse Lounge hours were listed as: Sunday - Thursday 11am-9pm and Friday & Saturday 11am-11pm, but they were not open Tues or Wed even (just for lunch on Wed). Felipe's Pizza, too, which you were supposed to be able to order from your room and walk down and pick up during those hours...same problem.

Their Jambalaya Cafe was painfully understaffed for breakfast on Wed, with one overworked server and the F&B manager hustling to seat people, deliver food, and manage other areas of the restaurants. Oh, and S'mores by the nightly fire pit? Evidently, NOT a thing.

Bourbon Street was a ghost town. The Swamp Arcade, which PR advertises for kids and sells packages for, had no working games. We found this out the hard way. First, only one of two token machines worked, then when we got tokens, not one game, despite it accepting the tokens, actually functioned. The front desk refunded the money and said that they have been having problems with the Arcade.

So, Tuesday night we drove down to Cooper's Hawk for dinner, and Wednesday we ordered pizza from Giordano's, but we had intended on giving our business to PR, but, with much of what they offered closed (with no written notice or signs), we had no choice.

As for the pools - they were both chaotic. All signs about no toys, outside food and beverage were ignored, as were age restrictions, maximum capacities, and times on the hot tub. After seeing the hot tub filled (shoulder to shoulder) with 2 adults, 3-4 small kids, and the rest teens/pre-teens, I decided I would skip out on the dead skin cell festival.

Back in the room, the TV cut out intermittently and there was no maid service. When I called them on Wed afternoon to see when our room would get attended to, I was told that we were supposed to get a tag to hang on the door if we wanted the maid...except, the front desk forgot to issue us one. We were told to just hang on to our wet towels in the room until the next day.

So, I went about making the bed when I realized that the sheets were put on inside out and there was a stain that was on the inside (flipped over) part from, presumably the people who had the room before us.

The front desk apologized and took $50 off the bill, but I just had to cover the surface I was laying on in towels and just make it to check out the next morning.

Pheasant Run fell short of what it claims to offer in so many categories. Had they said that their restaurants would not be open during advertised hours, arcade was not functioning, and that there really are not s'mores at the fire pit, I would have not bothered. In fact, I can't think of a reason to bother with PR again. It appears to have fallen into such disrepair and whoever is in charge must be apathetic to keeping to what they advertise.

I was scheduled for a stay and called to cancel just short of 2 days before my scheduled arrival. The hotel refused to accept the cancelation and insisted on charging me for a night plus tax even though I could not use the room.

I don't typically leave negative reviews, but felt compelled to warn people about this place. Carpet covered with dog hair and a smell to match. Old beds, old everything (tube tv gives away the last time they renovated). May have been a nice place 20 years ago, but hasn't been updated or maintained since. Would strongly recommend finding somewhere else. Was expecting something much better based on the pictures and the price. A little baffled this place gets any positive reviews.

We went to Zanies at Pheasant Run over the weekend. It was a fun night with friends. Wish they had more food selection...$5 for a small paper bowl of Chex mix was kinda lame. They ran out of half the items on their menu which was just crazy since thats all they serve! It was a typical dive bar/ comedy bar atmosphere which was cool to have inside of a resort. Definitely made you feel like you were in the city instead of St. Charles. Comedy act was pretty good too. Everyone had fun at the end of the day. 3 stars was mainly for lame menu... and not having even those items available for purchase. Service and drinks were good.

Golf rooms are a bit dated. At least would have liked newer tv's particularly in the executive suites. Wanted to be able to use the tv's to go over presentations. Other than that the stay is exemplary as always. Last year I stayed in the remodeled tower rooms.

We went to a large event for my son's gymnastic class. There could have been a little more seating, and the bathrooms were packed but that's to be expected with the amount of people. Prices were insanely high for concessions but it was a nice venue

On ok

My husband and I come here to escape our own business and by far it has been a wonderful experience each and every time! Great golf! Keith in the pro shop is fabulous. They space everyone out on a busy day. The Harvest is great.....LOVE the beet salad! Zanies a hoot. Barb and Chris always make us feel welcome. Nancy is Jambalaya remembered us! Rooms are well kept. An older resort but so what? If you want more stay in the city and pay more. The pool is clean and heated year around. We will return soon!

I give the Pheasant Run Resort 5 stars. Well yes many of the reviews said the rooms are dated and definitely need updating, that sort of adds to the old school charm that makes this amazing, multi-faceted, multi entertainment center a must-see destination for families and couples. Where else can you go with an indoor Promenade complete with cobblestone streets where you can have ice cream, hand roasted coffee, jambalaya food and live music. We had lots of fun on Saturday and Sunday at the outdoor pool, and we appreciate that they hire a DJ and a activity director to keep things fun. They also have a dedicated bartender and outdoor Tiki Bar for tropical drinks and snacks.

We loved spending our days at the pool. It's very well maintained. The king bed was very comfortable. The grounds were well maintained. However, the rooms and hallways seem run down and smelled old. There was peeling wallpaper, stained carpet that was probably older than me, and the pullouts were awful. For what they charge they could update, upgrade, and fix.

The One of These Nights band should be seen to believe. The Eagles are the greatest band to ever hit the earth and these guys do it note for note better than the last time I saw them in concert.

Location great. Nice landscaping. Excellent for golf etc. Good customer service. Nice bathrooms but wear and tear evident in carpet and smell of the rooms. The real reason for 3 stars was ring around the upstairs toilet in the suite. Downstairs bathroom in better shape.
