WILL MANAGEMENT RESPOND TO THIS POST OR WILL THEY CONTINUE TO BE UNPROFESSIONAL!!

When we arrived for our reservation they placed a couple in our section after 3 hours the couple was still there we had to politely ask them to move and offered to buy them a drink for the inconvenience, why would we have to do that and not management?

Service was slow waited 15-20 minutes for drinks, at times the only bartender brought over our drinks, what restaurant does that?
We order 2 hookah's and waited 20 minutes for tips after asking 4 different staff members for tips, to make the situation worse they removed one of the hookah's without asking us.

What could get worse after having to ask the couple to move out of our reserved space, one of the managers cleared our tables with drinks and a hookah without warning or discussion. This is another example of the lack of professionalism. The bill between my finance & I was over $1000, because we had bought a few round of drinks and food for our guests. Not to mention what our guests of 25+ paid separately.

After we brought our concerns to the manger he stated we had been there for hours. It wasn't as though we had stopped buying drinks and ordering food...what a rude and disrespectful remark. Then that same manager proceeded to add other guests to our reserved space prior to us leaving.

Please do yourself a favor and don't waste your time and money going here, the food is not even that great so don't waste your time. There are so many other great restaurants in NYC that will treat you and your guests professionally, have better food and most importantly treat you with respect.

SUPER friendly staff, amazing bartenders, the food and drink are both excellent. It's a hookah bar, but it doesn't get too smokey or smell bad. It's very nicely designed and accommodates some classy guests. Sardor makes the best drinks! the owners are all very nice.

This place does hookah, good music, good drinks, and a decent multicultural vibe correctly. Hookah is smooth, flavorful, and never harsh. Hookah coal guys are complete pros. Ambiance is good, well considered. Drinks are strong, balanced, fair prices. Music is a good mix of r&b, hip-hop, and old school. Definitely a good place to chop it up with friends.

This is a very cute and cozy spot for hookah lovers and dates. They serve cocktails and six flavors of hookah. The fellow hookah smokers are friendly, as they won't crowd you since the booths are communal. This place is candle-lit and trendy.

Horrible service. Tried to make reservations for a large group for a birthday party and the event planner Victoria never called me back. Contacted her 5-6 times in a matter of days and still no phone call back. I tried to make a reservation for 10 people since that s the max the hostess can make reservations for and something told me to double check that the reservation was made and it wasn t. I called back twice on two separate occasions to confirm my reservation and each time I called they told me I had no reservations under my name. Absolutely ridiculous. Never coming to this restaurant again.

I'm a big hookah gal but this bar is fun. The drinks are good and it's a great atmosphere. It gets very crowded so get there early if you want a table. Be ready to spend some money because this isn't an inexpensive place. But you'll have a great time and enjoy your night out at Pergola.

I see how people sometimes feel they get treated a certain type of way but they have to know that this place is EXCLUSIVE so my advice always make your reservations before you go there

Pull up a chair kids. Let me tell you about the time I saw Wendy Williams dining at Pergola...

So I was out with a friend of mine visiting from Europe. We went to another outdoor venue down the street, in the hopes that she would be allowed to smoke (listings online reported it as such). Unfortunately, that information was outdated. Fortunately, the hostess recommended Pergola immediately. At the very least, my companion would get to smoke some Hookah. I hoped for food or drinks to pass the time. Personally, I don't smoke anything so take my points of view with a grain of salt.

I had the wings which were pretty much perfect. If I wasn't so full from brunch earlier I would've tried to sample some of the other menu items. From everything I could tell, their Hookah set ups and workflow was refined to clockwork (e.g. changing of coals constantly and consistently). My companion had prosecco pretty much all night. All she had to do to get another was put a single finger in the air and our waitress was on it! She reported satisfaction with her hookah choice, the price for which was $30.oo.

The music started off a little shaky. Granted it was a Sunday night but still there were some moments of bad mixing. That seemed to get resolved by nightfall, at which point the music leveled up to amazing. I heard Hip-Hop, Dancehall, Reggaeton, Dembow, Afro Beats, Salsa, Arabic, Rai music etc. It was really an awesome mix, as was the crowd (Eastern Europeans juxtaposed to Western Europeans rubbing elbows with Americans of all flavors). People actually got up to dance on the second floor (where we were seated) even though the vibe was more of a loungy one. Wendy Williams popped in for dinner after a while. I was a little bit shocked at that but after a little google research, it seems that she goes here from time to time.

So, all good but for a few things: First, their bathroom situation needs serious help. One toilet was out of order EARLY in the evening. There was a room with two stalls for gents that was so tight that the door would hit the man doing his business closest to the exit. My companion said that the women's restroom was a mess. It seems they need to update and expand their facilities in this area.

Secondly, with such a trendy looking place I would've expected a little bit better dress code management (You can tell me if I'm being too "Bougie"). It was a Sunday so maybe they were more lax?

I'll pull my review up here. My companion absolutely LOVED the place but I wasn't completely sold. We're going to come back because she loved it so much. Maybe we'll check it out on a Friday or Saturday night when things are going 100 miles an hour. I'll come back and update this review then.

Bottom Line: Go on a Sunday if you want to freely kill eight hours. They'll probably leave you to your own devices. Have the food and bubbly but don't have too much... Those bathrooms are unforgiving lol!

This place is very popular. Even tho they are really busy, they still trying to give the best service. Hookah is really good, foods are delicious (especially chicken wings) and prices are normal for Manhattan.

Very very slow service. The bartender took the order. We then reminded her, the manager, another server and another 2 ppl getting food outside. We did get our food but no Hookah for 45 mins and this slow service at 4pm. Just canceled the order. Giving 2 stars because of the food.

My family came late at night after a day at Universal Studios! Idk if they were just nice or if they wanted to get rid of it, but the owner gave us free Pergola. It was good. I love the rice and their chicken kabobs! Flavorful! And you honestly can't go wrong with pita bread and hummus. A fine late dinner for all of us.

Amazing atmosphere, great location and good stuff out there... they serve hookahs, drinks and Egyptian foods. Everything is okey they deserve 5 star but the place is little pricy. I got one one soup and pergola fries it costs me 40 bucks.

I didn't check the other stuff I was in rush but I can go there for hookah.

Pergola was recommended to me by a fellow hookah enthusiast. I called ahead to find out if they had wifi and was happy to learn that they do. I decided to have a working lunch at Pergola and had the Chicken Milanese. It was served with one the best arugula salads I've had so far. The chicken Milanese was well prepared in the traditional way.

They don't normally start hookah service until 5PM but lucky for me they made an exception. I ordered the blue mist. It came in a fresh pineapple head and coconut charcoals. It was a very clean smoke, perfect temperature and overall the best hookah I've had in Manhattan. Service was attentive and very friendly. I will be a regular here!

Pergola is a busy, Mediterranean afterwork, hookah joint located in Nomad. A mix of creative & finance folks populate this establishment. Good hospitality professionals like Mo working behind the bar make this one of those places where everybody knows your name , such as Asian Dave , Jake Vape , Ben K-atz , Elena , Amelie & Gio .

Food was ok (nothing excellent but not bad either). Service was very deficient. It took a great effort to have our order ready and for the waitress to accommodate our needs. I guess is a better place for drinks than for a proper dinner.

BEST LAMB IN THE CITY. or at least from the places that I have visited. The place has a cool vibe with dimly lit rooms, not too loud music and a nice smell of hookah and lamb. Also they serve halal food.
I ordered the lamb burger with fries. It was cooked to perfection. The lamb was nicely seasoned, soft and juicy. I haven't had a lamb burger in a while but that was one of the best I have ever had. The fries on the side were fresh and crispy.
And then came the shawarma. Which made my lamb burger feel like nothing. It was so full of flavour with a good amount of peppers and spices. The pita felt like it was fresh out of the oven.

The food was fantastic, but the service was absolutely awful. I went in for a nice meal with my mother while on vacation; it had been a really long day for the both of us and we just wanted a nice place to relax for a while, and we happened to pass by when my mother said she was feeling a bit hungry. So we stopped in to eat; it was almost immediate. Constant side-eye looks, and rude staring in our direction. The waitress only visited our table twice; my mother and I ran out of our beverages several times and they were not refilled. No one smiled in our direction. Not once. Not staff, nor other guests eating there. We got the impression that everyone here thought us lesser for eating there and that we were not welcome. As someone in the service industry myself, I know how things are expected to be, and I have a substantial patience span with most things, but this experience was one of the worst ones yet. Do not eat here if you like to be treated nicely, or at the bare minimum, respectfully.

1. we had reservations for a small party at 9pm. they advertise a 3 hour "open bar" party special between 9pm and 12pm, but whats the point since our table was not available untill 9:40pm, and no, they did not extend the "open bar" untill 12:40 since we got sat at our table at 9:40pm through no fault of our own.
2. the "open bar" special is weak. the choices in their "open bar" drink menu are slim pickings and you can only order your "open bar" drinks through the server - good luck with that. i waited 30 minutes for a beer, while other people who were paying for drinks had no problem getting served. the "open bar" special was a total scam.
3. the food - somehow our initial food order ended up on the table next to us - a totally different group of people who were not even with our party - and they ate it! who eats food mistakingly brought to your table that you know you didnt order? our server didnt even know the other table had gotten our food, and ate it. when i asked her wheres the food 45 minutes after we placed the order, she initially said we already got the food and we had eaten it and the busboy had cleared the finished plates! how does a server take your order, put your food order in, not know where the order went and who ate it, and then proceed to tell 4 people waiting for that food that they already ate it. finally, after the food order mystery was solved, we placed another order and got the food, 1 hour and 20 minutes after our initial order and.... lets just say it wasnt worth the wait, the aggrevation or the money. nothing special.
4. the service - the server - she was the only one who enjoyed the "open bar" special party menu. i dont mind if my server polishes off a beer or two during their shift, i know first hand that serving nights in the city can get stressfull and the people can be difficult, but theres a problem when my server is drinking more than me. this is the main reason why my beer took a half hour and the whole food order fiasco happened.
5. the vibe - the interior of the place is nice, but its basically a restaurant thats trying to parlay into a night spot. the DJ was good, but anyway you had no room to dance, and at one point the bathroom line was so long it stretched from the bar to the bathroom - literally snaking around and between tables.
i will never ever go to this place again.
total waste of a night.

Sooo we usually go there with a large group and spend lots of money. This time when we went I was so disappointed because our table was moved to another table and both were the same size. After we were moved, I could still see the table we were previously seated at and only two people were there. It was so pointless! I think the next time we go out in the city we will find another hookah place because I didn't feel like an appreciated customer. The server was also rude and said well we're normally supposed to kick you out now, but we are still keeping you. So rude! I mean our check was $950....

It s a beautiful place, food is good and it s great for drinks and hooka, service is usually good, but this last time a server allowed me to order a lot of liquor without telling me they were closing earlier, just to sell more and raise his tip . Which I found very insulting and nothing was done by the person in charge after I brought up the issue.

I liked this place, but unfortunately I have to find a new place for a hookah. management is just a disaster. never seen so many rude and unprofessional staff. first, no one picks up the phone. and when you come they chat in Spanish among themselves, completely ignoring. after that they immediately say that the table is only for an hour and you will have to leave. the waiters roll their eyes and bring the wrong order. hookah is really good, but no one is changing coal! even there are no forceps and that is for a hookah that costs $ 50. music is like in the ghetto .... that's enough for us. this place is not like before.

They do have a African American section which is not on the main floor but towards the back on the above level... You will be asked to move if you are on the main floor by someone of similar complexion so it s an easier transition.

Definitely not worth it. I used to frequent this place very often due to the good hookah and the descent hummus BUT I realized the service just KILLS this place. Whenever you go (Even with reservations) they are quick to let you know that another reservation is going to start soon after- NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU SPEND. I've consistently spent 200+ between two people here but have always faced this issue.

The last straw though was a few weeks back when I was going to go in for a few drinks at the bar and they turned me back saying it was too full. Given the massive amount of options in NYC I think one is better served when a guest as valued rather than turned back- at least that's my expectations of a night out.

Hope this is helpful!

We frequent this place a lot (mostly during evening). Good service with hookah and great cocktails. Highly recommend trying their spicy hummus. Reservations are a must at night since this place is always packed.

Visiting New York, We went Saturday evening, party of 3, we didn't have a reservation so the lady by the front desk told us waiting time is 45 min so we decided to stand by the bar till a table is free, we end up being waiting for 2 hours and every time we check they say no table available, after 2 hours the place became busy and the lady at the front desk started to give us attitude with a message that probably we wont get a table, even the supervisor when he knew about it he promised to find a table for us, but ending not getting a table and also giving us attitude, first time to this place and probably last time.

Very nice place with bunch of people working there knowing nothing about respect, commitment and good customer service, thank you for ruining our night.

Good chilled place, third time here for their hummus and hookah but the waitresses have a lot of attitude and rude. But overall it s a good place. Their staff needs a change of attitude because at the end, we are not eating here for free. Also they expect high tip.
