We were late for our reservation, but it was fine the waitress was able to accommodate us and told us we would have to finish eating within 1.5 hrs. However, they lose 1 star because we had to wait a very long time for anyone to take our order. They gave us a time limit to eat, but didn't send anyone over to us. We were concerned that our limit may be up before we even got our food. I ordered the vegetarian cauliflower dish & it was DELICIOUS. The pomegranate seeds and pine nuts really gave it a unique taste. Loud, party like scene. Hookahs available, but way too overpriced and not great quality.

We celebrated my wife's birthday here with a group of 20. To sum it up every single person commented on how good the food was, the amazing service, music, and overall wonderful experience. We always look for cool trendy spots, this is one of them.

I made a reservation for 14 pol. I wanted to make sure we would have a table when we got there. We arrived and we didnt have a table. I told her we confirmed for the upstairs area and she said it wants open yet. She offered an area by the bar until the upstairs area was open. The bartenders were great. The host kept checking on us to make sure we were ok. The host moves us upstairs once it was okay. The waitress was okay. She could've been more attentive. Overall, drinks were great, food was delicious but I just didn't like our reservation was ready due to overbooking

Great lively ambience, cocktails, and attentive servers. Good spot for hookah.

Pergola, great place nothing bad to really say about it only reason why I didn t give it 5 stars was because of the happy hour and price at the end of the bill but look below for more information



Atmosphere : Amazing, upscale and decor was nice

Hookah: I personally chose this place because we like to smoke, the regular flavors was $30 and the special flavors was $45

Happy Hour: Only at the bar until 8pm

Drinks: Drinks were good have a good selection of drinks except if your non alcohol they don t have anything but Water and Virgin Mojito

Food: Amazing everything was really good from the appetizers to entree s and the selection was good as well. There was a sides portion that we did not select as the entrees came with sides

Price: Everything adds up apparently, spent over $200 for two people which was fine but definitely one of the most places I have paid for in NYC as we are from NJ

Overall: It was a great place to go, if I worked or lived in NYC I would not mind going their more often especially for after work for their happy hour

One of my favorite places in NYC. Drinks are great! They do not skimp on alcohol. Also they have a decent happy hour, for the city everything is moderately priced. And if you smoke hookah, this is the place to get one. Must try garlic fries, Moscow mule, lamb sliders.

I m only giving this place 3 stars because the food is good and the party is really cool. The hookah is awful and they really don t know how to provide quality in terms of hookah. Service could also be better.

Went to this establishment last week and my card was charged twice; once for my bill and 17 minutes later for someone else bill. I have been calling daily since then and even went to their website to send an email. Needless to say, no response and the transactions have been combined as one and now I have to dispute it with my bank. Use cash if you go here or don't go at all!

Such a fun vibe! The food is always on point and all the options are delicious and flavorful. Probably the best hookah in the city too.

Things have definitely changed for the worst at Pergola. This place used to be good with professional staff. Definitely not the case now. Made reservations on a Saturday night, which they didn't honor. The hostess acts as if she's working at the DMV and is rude, unprofessional and a complete moron to put it nicely. The space was way too crowded to the point where the staff keeps bumping into you while yelling at you and shining a flash light in your eyes like they're the cops. An overall garbage experience and definitely won't be going back. If you like the experience you get at the DMV combined with a packed subway ride with all the related harassment, this place is for you, otherwise stay away.

This place was a total surprise! Nice and trendy ambiance. Food is AMAZING! Both the Chicken Kebab and Lamb were extremely delicious. Also, hookah is available here. Great place to come for date or just with friends or colleagues.

Awesome spot especially for happy hour. Bartenders are super nice, food is great, drinks are on point, music vibe is good and just overall ambiance is awesome! Hookahs are served as well and pretty good actually and not too harsh.

I tried making a reservation, the second they said hi Pergola how may I help you I couldn t get two words in because they hung up on me, and I tried CALLING BACK 7 TIMES no answer, like what type of restaurant avoids customers like seriously, like do your job or don t be in business if your playing with people who want to make a reservation, very very lazy staff and service, do not plan any event or service because they will leave you disappointed, SMH

Cane here with my friend and was turned away by security guard as he claimed that we needed reservation . I know from being there before, it is not true and he just needed money to let us in..

Let s start from the beginning !! I went there with my friends expecting to have a great night but all of the sudden it became a nightmare. Waitress was super rude. After having only 2 drinks we were ready to order our food but restaurant manager said they won t be able to serve us because of there restaurant policy which allows to stay at one table ONLY FOR 2 HOURS. FYI !! We had to left that place without getting the food. Isn t it great ?????

I would not go to that place for sure especially after getting such a nice treatment. THEY MADE MY NIGHT !!!

This is a great spot for dancing, bar scene and hookah! I highly recommend!

Been there twice, once for lunch, they have really fresh options. As a vegetarian, this was a pleasant surprise. I'll be going regularly.

Girls at front desk are rude. Very unprofessional. There was 10 open tables and the woman told me i had to wait for a table but not giving me a time or how long it may take. I offered to pay extra and buy multiple bottles but still was told that i had to wait. I know i may sound like an arrogant f**k but that girl was a snob and she can go f**k herself

My friend recommended this place. she said it was a nice vibe good food and music. it was my cousins 35th birthday! Everything was ok up until we were paying the bill. It was about 6 of us and we all split the bill evenly! I gave the waitress very simple instructions on who gets charged what .. well when she gets back to the table we receive our receipts to sign and our 483$ bill now totaled was 607$!! ( Her gratuity was already included in the total and believe me she didn't deserve it she hardly checked in on us) I stop her and tell her she charged two of us incorrectly and to please void out the charges and charge whats suppose to be charged. she goes on to say well one of the cards declined and this is why you and the other person is paying extra! wellll if that's the case why is it everyone had a receipt to sign?? we both checked our accounts and had three pending charges from them! One for the incorrect amount and then two which should've been the original amount she had to charge me! This nonsense paraded for another 45mins- The manager who basically spoke to us as if were trying to leave an open bill siding with his waitress instead of trying to correct her mistake. He basically was showing me gis POS what was charged and saying she didnt charge you that.. Well really then how is it on my account and why do i have a receipt for it not to mention the other two charges i didn't have receipt for! at the end of it all myself and a friend had to pay an additional amount because our bill was still not satisfied to them even though we are showing them receipts and our bank of these extra charges ,so now i have the three charges pending in my account, and now ANOTHER charge in order to close out the bill. The fact that no one tried to help left me a bad taste in my mouth! how hard is it to charge cards? My opinion she was trying to get off on us an extra amount for her own pockets. I left there called my bank and had everything fixed! at the end of the day your customer is what brings business and others to your establishment. Try and be more understanding and helpful next time! we live in an era where credit cards are used more than cash!

Really cool spot for hookah and fries. Try and make the happy hour if you can. It's totally worth it You might run into a few famous people while you're out there

It was very bad experience when you order 4 hooks and appetizer and 2 black label and 6 beer and they ask you to leave because they can't serve you more than 2 hours that's super bad iam from different state I came here to enjoy and they make my stay bad iam not going to come back here thank you for the bad experience and when I ask for the manager he is not here

Nice, cozy and relaxing hangout spot for Hookah and some good Mediterranean food.

I had always been searching for some decent hookah place in the midtown area, most of them in Manhattan are in the west village area. The place has great ambience, lighting is great, seats are cozy(cozier and quieter on the second floor), music and food(vegan friendly) are decent. The hookahs are slightly expensive, 35/45$ depending on the type but they are great. However found some shortfalls in service, the staff wasn't around much and not so attentive, few of them were busy hanging out with their friends even during service, where as few other were really great. Had the service been better, I would have given 5 stars.

Tip: If you want to visit the place over weekends, please make sure you make a reservation in advance (2-3 days before the visit).

Pergola probably is one of the best hookah bars in NYC. I would definitely go back to this place again.

Came here with a friend while visiting NYC and I really enjoyed it! We ended up staying for about 4 hours which I NEVER do anywhere else for hookah, dinner and drinks. I made a reservation on a Sunday
through open table (feature in this map app). We got seated right away. This place is very cool. Huge open layout, 2 floors. Tables are a little small though so I couldnt sit next to my date but we still had a good time. Only suggestion I would make is for the half booths- get rid of the little backless stools and putting in actual chairs with backs so it's more comfortable to eat and lounge/relax. The Hookah was one of the best I've had in NYC. The service was good, ESP the hookah Guys. They were on top of having fresh coal for you. Amazing food as well. We got a hookah, several appetizers, main entree to share, and lots of wine. Bill came out to about $350 with tip but it was well worth it for the amount of stuff we got and had a fun night out. Made some friends there as well. It seems like it's the spot locals go to.

For them it s all about the money, not the customer service.
If you seat in a table and you don t order a lot of food/drink/hookah, they will try to rush you out and tell you that there is another reservation.

Sheesha is very good but so expensive. Food was quite decent given that their primary focus isn t food, and cocktails were average. I would stick to a pretty easy cocktail / drink in order to not leave disappointed. Service was slow however it s understandable given how busy they are.

HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!! I have been going there for a while and is always the same thing. As soon as you go in you have to wait by the door for about 15min to get seated if is any seats( which is usually not, I have waited two hours for a seat). They tell you to make a reservation but when you call they say "first come, first serve". In my case they never even call me to get me seated the last time I was there. If you are lucky to get a table the waiter doesn't even take your order until they feel like it, you have to keep trying to get their attention because they never come back to check on you.!! You can complain to the manager or the "owner" but they don't care to accommodate you. RACIST! They pick and choose who they are nice to, definitely no color people.

Very rustic place. Also a hookah lounge. Interesting menu. Good appetizers, try meatballs and hummus. Good avocado toast. Greek salad was chopped in really large pieces, like half of tomato large. Good ingredients just wrong cooking, I also added chicken for $8 and it was completely dry. Good service and friendly staff. Hookah looked good, but we didn't try it.

Security was rude and overall we found this place very discriminating. They decide whom and how to serve depending upon crowd that comes in.

Food was delicious. I highly recommend the lamb chops and an order of their hummus. The chops were cooked really well ABC's the sides: potatoes and sc spinach were very tasty. A light sauce was on top and complimented well. My friends got the rib. It wasn't to my taste; bit too sweet, but my friends loved it.

Holy moley, this place is a gem. Definitely more on the upscale side, and the hookah is pretty expensive but it comes in fresh fruit and is incredible. The blue mist is a must! The second floor is perfect for big groups and parties, with pretty lighting and lots of room for dancing. The falafel was the best I've ever had and service was excellent. Played really great music too. Might be a good idea to get a reservation if going on a popular night, but this is a must try place.

As an Egyptian American with a Colombian girlfriend I found this place perfect mix of both our cultures. I got my hookah and Arabic music and she got her Latin music and people. Favorite NYC bar but you got to get there before 9pm to not wait in line.

Whenever we hear about a bar with decent hookah, we have to try it! This is how we ended up going to Pergola as well.

It has a really nice ambience. Like many other lounges, this Lounge is quiet and bland on weekdays but springs to life on weekends. It has two floors. The second floor is chill and has a good spacious seating area with low floor tables. The music is loud enough for you to stand and dance a bit and also is low enough for you to strike conversations with your buddies. When you are buzzed enough, you can head downstairs for an epic night of dancing. The music is thumping with the DJ dropping one bomb after the other.

Drinks are decent but nothing extraordinary to write home about. Friends fries are good and Hummus-Pita are decent. Hookah is why we come here for. Though nothing can beat the hookah that we make at home, this comes second to it. Sparkling ice is my favorite. It has champagne base and ice filled hose. However, they have a tendency to mess it up sometimes (flavorless). Orange mint is really good as well.

Why did I take away one star? I don't know. I feel that this Place has a lot more potential than it showcases. Put some friendly servers and add some more finger food and I might give you 5 stars!

P.S.- Always make a reservation on the weekends.

Much better hookah lounges in nyc than this one. Avoid coming here!!! Not only did they charge us the amount of the total bill on two separate cards (meaning we paid double) my friend left ler wallet with her license in it and never got it back because there was no manager to open up the safe or to atleast refund one of the cards that shluldve never been charged! Bad bad service!!

The front door host, for lack of a better word, is an IMBECILE. As I read, I believe he's the owner, even better. Bald head white man with sideburns. Very rude with unnecessary attitude and smart comments. The bouncer was actually nice trying to help the situation. I've been here a couple times, over 6 times maybe. I'm assuming I've only been here on weekdays because I showed up on Friday and it was reservations only. I was trying to understand why and this lovely man was being difficult so I let it go. I actually had to use the restroom and asked politely if I could at least do that. This man gives me excuses saying there would be a long line. I told him that was okay but he insisted I couldn't. But here's the catch! he offered my gf to use the restroom because she's a female but told me I could urinate on the street. I can't make this up lol what a gentleman. Do you think I'll be returning? Do you think he cares either? Enjoy your day everyone.

Good atmosphere. Go to the back of the place. Its better at the back.

What a horrible place the staff is rude and the manager was very unprofessional and unfriendly I would not recommend this place to anyone unless u want your credit card number stolen and u want to be treated very rude by the staff don t go there so many other places in Manhattan to go to

We had recently our evening out in Manhattan and my friend recommended Pergola which I did not know! And to be honest I had not been anymore in for food, but I spontaneously liked the atmosphere, the crowd and the music. We decided to stay and had a great night. As standing around the bar was tight we met new people and had a few very good cocktails. The music is smashing. So a great night out in New York! Only: the shisha fumes a bit irritated my lungs.

Had a Greek salad there which was delicious. Also doesn't smell bad :)

Food was good as well as the atmosphere and aesthetics of the please. I wished the menus gave more detail as to what the dishes contained. I ordered something under the impression that it didn t have any cheese and the platter was loaded with it.

I have to say I was very surprised at my experience here since it was recommended to me. I went with a group of 8 people so I called before to make a reservation for dinner and happy hour drinks. When I arrived they lost my reservation. They told me they could fit me in upstairs but I had to leave after two hours because they had another reservation coming (I was very offended by them giving me a time limit if I too made a reservation for a long night of drinks). When we arrived upstairs they was only enough room for 6 people at the table. Then we asked for the happy hour menu and were told that happy hour is only downstairs. I replied that this was unacceptable because the only reason we were sitting upstairs was because they messed up our reservation and that we specifically came for happy hour. They said because of this that it was fine. Then we ordered two white sangrias to start and the waitress came back with red sangrias with no word as to why (white sangria was not on the happy hour menu, which we might have known if they gave us a menu). Then after about an hour and a half we began to pay and our waitress told us that we really HAD to leave then because the next party was there even though we hadn't finished our drinks. I did not think the food or drinks were worth the price and the service was most definitely not even worth the visit.
