The Peabody was great but eat dinner at Capriccio Grill. What a joke, no sides at all. I mean none, wife got a small 6 oz steak and that's it. I got salmon and nothing else. There were no sides to choose. Will not be back. The service was good, they did forgot my cocktail, but came near the very end of our meal which went down quick.

Went back to see the Christmas decorations, was not disappointed. Absolutely beautiful! Enjoyed sitting in the lobby by the big Christmas tree and enjoyed a specialty cocktail watching the people and the ducks.Wonderful evening.

The hotel was beautiful and elegantly detailed. The staff were always attentive and happy to assist. The beds were SUPER comfy! One caveat was it seemed the a/c wasn't cooling efficiently, even after maintenance came. Really a great place though and location.

The Peabody is still a gem. Kate at the front desk greeted us warmly at check in. She was professional and reflects positively on the hotel. No need to rehash how special the lobbyist..just amazing. A word of caution about parking. Just pay the extra amount and use valet. Self park requires an arduous walk and is a pain! They have signs that limit elevator occupancy to 1 family or 2 people...good! But the sanitizer on the elevator was empty..odd. Our room was beautiful and well appointed. The room was spacious and the bathroom was large and well lit. Big roomy tub and good water pressure in shower. They do not use fitted sheets on the beds so sheet did not stay in place during the night. Also the duvets looked worn. There were usb plugs next to both beds. The phone in our room did not work. Also I was on hold 15 minutes to ask a simple request. We requested the bellman be at our room the next day at 7;00am. He arrived at 7:10.

On a high note, there is no coffee pot in the room. They do have coffee available downstairs, but it is not available until 7:00 am. Since my husband needs it when he wakes up, I asked Reginald at the front desk if there was anything he could do dor us. He personally went to the coffee shop and had them make coffee then (it was 6:00 AM) for my husband. I love that he took ownership of my problem and found a solution. He also pointed out that they are happy to bring a coffee pot up if a guest requests it.

1. The front desk didn't even give me the time of day when we checked in as 2 males for the one room. She wouldn't even look for another room that was pet friendly and feigned to not know the layout of the rooms in the hotel--we asked to overlook the river side if possible.
2. I complained the next day to someone who forwarded my complaint.
3. We had to ask to change rooms the next morning because constant movement of furniture was above us all the time--we conjectured it was a break area but was told no. Anyways, the move was facilitated by the excellent bell staff.
4. The day after I was confronted by the Director of Front Office? I was sitting quietly with my 8 lb. chihuahua on my lap and leashed sitting in the main lobby area and was told the area was considered food service so my animal had to be on the marble outskirts only. I told her "Then don't call yourself a pet friendly hotel". I then asked if she had heard about my complaint and she knew my room number and said yes. I waited for an apology but got nothing about my poor check in experience. I was quiet and controlled in my pushback. I mentioned I am a top reviewer and was told "I'm sure you are" and didn't seem concerned.
5. Our toilet in the new room had a toilet that refilled itself often but we didn't bother to complain.
6. The second to last evening of our stay was met with housekeeping not doing our room but we did get towels and stuff delivered to our room with no effort.
7. The staff for restaurants were attentive and kind.
8. Ironically I asked for the card of the GM when I was leaving and ironically it was the same "manager". Of course, she didn't ask if the rest of our stay was satisfactory.
9. I was in a cast and was being nice and returning the cart back to inside the hotel and was rudely confronted by a non bell hop saying "I can't take it to my room". I said in a frustrated tone that all I was doing while hobbling around was returning it inside near their stand.
10. We told others we met who were staying there and they said they saw other small dogs in the lobby area also and can't imagine why we were targeted.

Honestly, a huge disappointment. Husband booked overnight for my birthday because we love Memphis, but had never visited The Peabody, what we thought was an iconic staple of downtown. Wish we would have stayed with our usual boutique hotel in the area. Our dog got sick five days before our departure, and we tried to get in touch with actual people for two days straight. No one could help us. The booking company they use tried to connect us to Peabody three times, with no success. One of our wait times on hold was up to 36 minutes before disconnecting. Since we could not cancel, we decided to make the best and find a sitter for the pup. Upon check-in, it s obvious this hotel is open still on reputation only because that s all it has to offer. Walls are dirty In our room, wastebaskets are rusted with no liners. Bathroom is TINY. General wear and tear to the point where normal upkeep is obviously not a priority, nor is maid service. It s just not clean, and honestly one of the worst places I ve ever stayed at. Ducks were very cute, but it s very hard to see them unless you re two hours early, and it s a five minute thing, at most. There is no mini bar in the room, there is no fridge provided at all. I can honestly say I feel a little duped, and would not recommend this accommodation to anyone I like.

The Duck Walk is so impressive! This is a beautiful hotel filled with history, but the most important is the Duck Walk. Everyday at 11:00 AM and 5 PM, the Peabody Ducks are escorted from there home in the top of the hotel to the beautiful fountain in the lobby, and it is amazing to watch. About 30 minutes prior to their arrival and departure the red carpet is rolled out, their path is partitioned off and the guards are on standby. You wait impatiently for the elevator to hit the lobby and off march the most amazing ducks. They walk the red carpet together and go right into the amazing Peabody fountain where they swim and play all day, then at 5:00 PM, they are escorted back to their suite. Definitely a must see while visiting Memphis, especially if you have children, although I didn't and I loved it!

I dined and had cocktails here . The drinks I had were great. I tipped well too. What angers me is the fact that children were allowed to sit at the entry where the ducks passed to go to the elevator ....
The bar patrons and those who waited an hour had to sit at the back part where parading ducks cant be seen . What a gyp.

Not only is this gross age discrimination but I'm Childfree and spent a lot of money here only to be treated like a second class citizen .

They also took up collections for st Jude's . This hospital is wealthy and everybody in the country collects for them .

This hotel should collect money for farm sanctuaries and animal shelters .

Another thing is their French restaurant claims to never sell duck on the menu, but they sell a type of pork dish where the animal is fed only milk for 10 weeks to make the meat juicy.......how aweful, how unnatural

They serve veal in both restaurants too, so don't think just because they don't serve duck that they are protective of animals lives ?

It's the Peabody! See the ducks. See the rooftop views. Eat the fancy cake in the lobby cafe. Walk around the elegant lobby and gift shops while listening to music by the man playing at the grand piano. It's a must experience while in Memphis -- especially at Christmas time.

We booked a business group at the Peabody.

We booked a business group at the Peabody.

What went well: the hotel decor was beautiful. The meeting, catering, and planning team was a breeze to work with.

What didn t go well: it took an unnecessarily long time to check in, despite being the second person in line. Our room phone didn t work, I reported it to the front desk, and it was never fixed. The valet left my truck unlocked and windows down for two hours after I checked in (thanks to my phone app to alerting me). Because the phone in my room didn t work, I called the front desk from my cell phone to call for my vehicle. Message never made it to the valet, so I ended up waiting 30 minutes for the car after we checked out.

Planning team is fabulous.
Hotel service left much to be desired!

I visited specifically to see the duck parade and did not stay at the hotel or eat at their restaurants. However service at the lobby bar was excellent, and the hotel was clean outside and inside the lobby. I would return to the Peabody on my next visit to Memphis.

This Landmark Hotel is a must visit, when in Memphis. Each day their are two duck marches, a morning when the hotel ducks come down to the fountain, and a 5pm return. These are festive events, and are fun to watch for both kids and adults. Get their early, grab a drink or food for a better seat, but be sure to see them on your visit.

My wife and I enjoyed a weekend getaway for her birthday/Valentine's Day and we had high expectations due to the Peabody's reputation. And we were not disappointed! Every staff member we encountered was very nice and the amenities were wonderful. Kenan, the duck master, was delightful and very personable with everyone. We loved visiting the memorabilia room and seeing Francis Scott Key's piano was an unexpected delight! All in all we had a wonderful time, created some wonderful memories, and look forward to going back!

Great place to stay. The history, the elegance, and the atmosphere is awesome. However you have to watch the employees in the shops. They will take your payment and then look up your room number and charge you again. Then when you discuss it with management they will just waste your time before refunding your money. It is such a shame because this would have been a 5 Star rating if it weren't for the way management handled things.

Very nice hotel inside. We visited for one of the duck shows and would consider staying there on a future visit to Memphis based on what we saw. The hotel is also located in a great spot within the city.
