Honestly, a huge disappointment. Husband booked overnight for my birthday because we love Memphis, but had never visited The Peabody, what we thought was an iconic staple of downtown. Wish we would have stayed with our usual boutique hotel in the area. Our dog got sick five days before our departure, and we tried to get in touch with actual people for two days straight. No one could help us. The booking company they use tried to connect us to Peabody three times, with no success. One of our wait times on hold was up to 36 minutes before disconnecting. Since we could not cancel, we decided to make the best and find a sitter for the pup. Upon check-in, it s obvious this hotel is open still on reputation only because that s all it has to offer. Walls are dirty In our room, wastebaskets are rusted with no liners. Bathroom is TINY. General wear and tear to the point where normal upkeep is obviously not a priority, nor is maid service. It s just not clean, and honestly one of the worst places I ve ever stayed at. Ducks were very cute, but it s very hard to see them unless you re two hours early, and it s a five minute thing, at most. There is no mini bar in the room, there is no fridge provided at all. I can honestly say I feel a little duped, and would not recommend this accommodation to anyone I like.
