Great gift the 20.00 dollar special for the new years !!! Resued a 8 year old cat the best
I got my kittens here. They are great. Please adopt
Friendly and helpful staff. Licensing needs quickly and properly addressed. While there a stray kitten was dropped off and quickly cared for
Awesome, but that need to hire way more employees. How do they get over a billion dollars in Funding, and have a whole group of volunteers run the place... why dont they have more staff... where is all this money going...
In the busy Pasadena, one can easily find parking underground and roam thru outdoor area to see dogs. Place is kept clean.
Got shots for my dog. Was done quickly and affordable.
So happy we found a new kitten here. The adoption process was straightforward and simple.
I had a good experience . It was my first time there, went to pick up my dog (left my backyard door open by accident). They were cordial, helpful, informative and professional. Overall , I had a good experience.
We adopted a lovable dog from PHS and had an easy experience! We continue to shop for pet supplies from their store as a way of supporting their excellent work. It's a very nice home for pets seeking new families.
Donations to them. They do take care of shelter pets
I used to come here twice a month to visit those cute cats and dogs. Employees are really nice
Love coming to this place!!!! Everyone is very friendly and knowledgeable
Clean and well kept. All the doggos were cute and friendly
First time trying to find a good place to adopt a puppy for my five year old son because he s been begging me for one. So I finally made the choice that it would be the perfect time to start looking for a pup, I had first got in contact with best friends animal shelter and they referred me to humane society because they had a few pups up for adoption so I went ahead and gave them a call and as soon as I started speaking to the receptionist she was extremely rude and didn t want to give me any specific details and said that the pups already had a list of ppl that wanted to adopt them so I couldn t get on the list. I wasn t upset about that I understand first come first served but just her tone in her voice and the way she rudely explained the whole process and situation was so disappointing. I was going to purchase a dog at first but then I was talked into adopting which sounded so nice. But now I m disappointed and idk if I will be adopting worst experience ever.
I hope that this facility can find better staff and a kinder receptionist.
I've been going here to adopt animals for over 30 years. Today I adopted a10 year cat. As always the staff were amazing.
Great people top to bottom who love animals and treat anyone who comes here like family.
Great place that has awesome dogs, cats, turtles, ducks, and even a peacock! Great for animal lovers.
The folks at Pasadena Humane Society are committed to finding forever homes for the pets in their care. They are caring, professional and welcoming. They make adopting a new family member easier. Two thumbs up.
If I could give these people negative stars, I would. All they care about is getting money, and getting it right now and screw everyone who really wants a dog. My boyfriend & I were looking at a dog. I was placed 1st on the waiting list and because of my dogs it didn't work out (so next place for the dog was at my boyfriends) wrong. He had to fill out another application and was technically 4th on the list (even if I went everyday to visit the dog. Obviously I really wanted her). When he filled out the application he was told to call after 4 because that was when the 2nd person had to forfeit the dog. Luckily it didn't work out for the 2nd person and the 3rd person changed their mind. I call at 4:05 and ask if the dog is available, and I learn that it didn't work out for the 2nd or 3rd person but someone walked in that day and adopted her already. They didn't care that I really loved this dog. They didn't care that it was going to go to a good home. If I could have placed a deposit I would have. But they said "we wanted to get the dog placed right away." So all they care about is getting their money and forget the actual people. It was their mistake. The counsellors and everyone else don't care about you. All they care about is their money. So disappointed and upset. I will tell everyone my story.
Went to look at the dogs today in Hope's of adopting one but also got the chance to learn something new on our visit to the pasadena humane society & SPCA. If the dog is found as a stray they put a 5 day hold on it in case someone comes looking for it but only when they're placed as a stray. If they are found but are chipped then they are placed on a 10 day hold until the owner comes to pick them up as well. If for some reason you don't want your dog or find one and take it in you can also fill out a form of surrender which is something I witnessed today and thought it was nice of the person doing it as well as she was also interested in adopting it. The staff if also friendly there when your asking questions. On the animals info cards on the kennels there's usually some sort of description and I was curious about the S+ and the S- which the girl was nice about answering, she refers to the dogs being chipped S+ for chipped and S- for non chipped. I wasn't aware of these things and thought I'd share because I thought it was interesting lol
I have my cat adopted here in Pasadena
Most People are nice here !!! Some of them has little bit attitude but it s ok I can take it
Had to put down my 18yrs old dog today and I chose the Humane society in Pasadena. With the money that I saved, I decided to donate so they can save more animals. Thank you everyone for a caring and compassionate service.
My Sam was a rescue and it's fitting to end his life at the rescue facility and donating the difference ($$$) back so more animals can be saved.
I found a bunny and they gave me all sorts of info and hay and a transport box for free
Wonderful staff and volunteers. They work hard to keep a clean area for the dogs and to ensure they are walked and fed. We have not yet adopted a dog, so I can't speak on that experience; however, my daughter likes to go and say Hi to each and every dog there...even the not so nice ones. We hope to adopt soon.
Adopted my dog from here! Love coming to this place.
We adopted 2 healthy kittens from here recently. The staff was very helpful and made the process smooth. Their website was useful in looking through profiles ahead of our visit.
I came in to bring back a cat that gave my son bad allergies. My brother was with me and had to use the bathroom. He is a veteran with parkinson's disease and we both have bad arthritis. Our cat was freaking out and didin't want to go in her cage, so we put her in a cotton bag with plenty of room so I could hold her in my lap to calm her down. When we got there the receptionist started to yell at us for putting her in that bag because she couldn't breathe according to that idiot. My brother had to use the restroom badly and asked nicely several times. The girl ignored him after the 4th time my brother asked I got mad and raised my voice. She said, wait til we get the cat situated! I became angry so I yelled at her and she took my brother to the restroom. I called her supervisor to make a complaint. I still might with ADA which is an agency who defends people with disabilities. And Consumer affairs as well. But I don't want to go overboard.
What an asset. We got the best dog here 30 years ago. The kennels are spacious, clean enough. Great that residents volunteer.
Lots of time & expense to make this place GR8. Wondering WHY we don't treat the 50,000 homeless HUMAN BEINGS with equal commitment. At least we don't euphonize the homeless. We also DON'T have as many commercials on TV about HOMELESS HUMAN BEINGS as stray cats and dogs. No commercials at all on TV is my IMPOSSIBLE first choice.
Great PLACE to adopt a pet, 1 stop shopping. Animals well treated and cared for. Please support them, their resources are really being stretched especially in light of the local Thousand Oaks, Agoura Hills, Malibu, etc fires.
Went because I found two dog's that me and my wife like one boy and the other a girl but the girl was gone and the was labeled as 7 months but I had dog's all my life and Believe me this dog was not 7 months he was more like 2 year's old , no thank you this is one dog pound I will never go back too, also they wanted me to pay $ 130 dollars for the shots and license no thank you again!
We found a lovely even-tempered 5 year old black Lab here and adopted it for free. Free Labs!
Went to rescue a senior. Great friendly staff.easy to find. Excellent communicators.
Made a lot of good changes and expanded the facilities!
They truly care about their animals and try to match them with the right families. Want s puppy? Get there at 4am (not kidding).
The service was good and receptionist very kind. She answered all my questions and explained everything to the best of her knowledge. But I was not happy that they refused 2 of my dogs stating they did not look like Chihuahua but in fact they are mixed Chihuahua and I even took the mother in and still without asking the Dr they refused my 2 dogs and I had to pay for them but I only paid for one since I couldn't afford to pay for both. Pasadena humane society offers free spay and neutering for pit bulls and Chihuahuas. I would not lie about my dogs breed and as Veterinarians, they should be able to tell the breed.
Love looking at animals. This is a nice place to find your new family pet. Animals seem happy. Clean.
Pets there were in good condition. But terrible service and bad employees.
The staff does an amazing job with human, canine and feline guests.
Excellent staff. Very friendly and helpful. Adoption process was fast and painless.
So So So bad ! The employees here are very bad. I am very uncomfortable. They don t even smile.
A clean a well-organized shelter. Visit their shop for some fun and funky toys and treats that you won't see at the regular pet stores.
Great facilities. Very clean and the animals are I'm good health. They really care about the animals and most animals find homes. Don't forget to check out the reptile area and the new cat and kitten section!
Great staff, location and building. Went for vacinations.
I needed to rehome two kitten boys. Lady on phone with a n english accent was snooty. Criticized me and the cats and was no help. She was being really unprofessional kept asking me questions and gave condescending response. She gave me attitude and also gave me a phone number to a place that won't accept the city I'm in.
The last time I visited there, there weren t many animals(I guess that s a good thing) the place didn t seem a clean as it usually is. On the other hand I would give the board& care 4 stars.
I agree with the others regarding the lady (no accent) who answers incoming calls. Just called a few minutes (June 17 at 11:40 a.m.) ago to surrender a juvenile crow with a bad leg and she sounded very indifferent and didn't provide any solutions to be helpful. Had a "oh, whatever" attitude.
Very good place, they have the animals in good condition .. and the very friendly staff.
They took great care of my little guy when he went in for his neuter. Very kind and professional. I ve been here a few times already for other services. (Very easy parking despite the location)
They were very kind when we had to take our kitty to be put to sleep.
Very special animals and the workers are helpful. Strict about adoptions but they just want to make sure the home is right for the animal. New cat area and new store/Training area
Can't Look at dogs in person... OnLine onLy... This is NOT a no kiLL sheLter... :-( Too many dogs here... MostLy pitbuLLs... Breaks my heart knowing most oF them don't stand a chance... :-(
I cannot say enough good things about the Pasadena Humane Society and SPCA.
On May 14th, at approximately 9:00 pm, a fledgling in distress was rescued by four of us, Sierra Madre residents all. PHS/SPCA's 24 hour dispatch was contacted and arrived within an hour to pick up the tiny baby bird. In the morning, their wildlife team was able to assess and care for the little fledgling. A day later the team called the residents to report the happy ending. Baby fledgling was returned to his home habitat and flew away. Everyone involved at this facility was kind, caring and highly competent. I have adopted from and contributed to the Pasadena Humane Society and SPCA through the years, and recommend my neighbors consider doing the same.
My wife and I went down to the shelter and found a dog we wanted to adopt. They took our info and we were told to come back in a couple days when it would be available. My wife called to check on the dogs availability, only to be told that it was lost and they could not find it. They offered no apology and no explanation, just very coldly asked if there was another dog we wanted.
Not sure if losing animals is normal practice here, but it's definitely unacceptable. The attitude and dismissiveness of the staff is also unappreciated, and I will no longer visit or recommend this shelter.
Great place to bring or get a pet! The volunteers train really hard to help the animals
It was really hard to go here I had to put my best friend to rest RIP Maximus the merciful.....they were every bit of kind and respectful ty....I birth him love him still
I have terrible experience here just these two days. I just adopted a dog yesterday here. They said this dog was very healthy and he was available to be adopted today and also gave me the heath certificate. But today I received their call and said this dog need to take medication everyday. Let us go back to pick up the medication.I asked them why nobody told us yesterday. They said they forgot to do it. And I went back to this place and they said the dog had liver function disease. I was shocked and very sad. If the dog need to take medication long time, I can not afford this. I don t know why they lied to me. It s just a business? In order to make money no matter to hurt people and hurt the dog.
Clean, organized, caring staff, and amazing services!
Very caring staff here.
DON'T pay hundreds to your vet when the time comes to send your "fur baby" to heaven. It's just $22 here
They were very helpful and very friendly. Really happy with their service
Great place to save a pet. They have the usual cats and dogs but also have rabbits, birds, reptiles and more. The staff can be helpful but also sometimes not.
So many people here put all their heart and being into what they do. They give me the feeling that what they do is so much more than a "job."
Facility is very clean and the staff are friendly and truly love what they do and would trust my two pet family with them
Very sad to see animals abandoned but pleased that they are in great loving hands
Clean facilities. People are generally nice. Prices in the store are pretty high, but I guess that's because the sales are used to raise funds. We've done training there, but have never actually visited the animals. The vaccine clinic is helpful, but it's a good idea to go earlier.
Found some kittens in a Box with the mom and the lady at the front desk told me to let them loose where I found them the kittens are only about 6 to 7 weeks old and apparently she thinks they can fend for themselves being loose outside that is wrong and not very humane .
Staff is rude, condescending and can waste your time. I went to look at kittens, and spent an entire afternoon working with an adoption counselor, looking at various animals. I had to go home to pick up my lease agreement, and upon returning, was shuffled off to another adoption counselor, who told me I couldn't adopt a kitten because I worked a normal workday. If this was their policy, they could have told me up front, instead of wasting hours of my time, plus it was upsetting because I had bonded with a couple of animals.
As for those people who bash those who had a bad experience here, treating humans with respect is important too, even there are rules to follow around adopting.
Really the best of the best when it comes to animal shelters. I cannot praise them enough for the hard work and service they provide to our community. Everything is professional, and the surgeons are really top-notch. If you are thinking of adopting, do it here!
They are very responsive...we needed help with kittens and they helped.
Kind gentle staff and the cuties that I wanted to take all of them home
If you like to leave your pet you can not take it to that place or you want a pet and have the pet you need
