Beautiful hotel! As nice as any of the 4 and 5 star resorts for in my opinion a more competitive price. Whole package resort, restaurants, spa, pools, golf. All around a great get away or stay cay.

This resort is one of my favorites. This is a true get away. If you can't relax here I don't know where you can. The food is amazing, especially at the steakhouse argyle. Its a ways away from any airport, so getting here is difficult if flying in but worth it 100%.

I recently spend a week in San Diego. I chose the Park Hyatt brand because of its reputation. The property was formerly a Four Seasons. It is in a lovely spot and provides nice views. Some of things went a bit wrong upon arrival. I pulled in and the valet told me I could overnight valet or self-park. I asked what the differences were in price and location. He said "it's just a hassle, don't self park". Well, they made it a major hassle. I had trouble every time getting picked up from the car park. We called multiples times, the bus drove past us and I waited at times for 45 minutes. It did color our time there.
The physical space is very pretty and the check in went smoothly. I booked through PTS and received a nice room. The breakfast buffet was good but slow service and hard to get in and out. Housekeeping was inconsistent. (I always tip a lot). Sometime we got towels and freshened up items and sometimes I had to call several times. I did use the app to request items and that was helpful.
We never dined at any of the restaurants.
Not sure if I would stay there again. I liked the location and physical but the service and overall experience wasn't 5 star.

We recently stayed at the Park Hyatt Aviara for the 4th of July. We have had many prior trips to the Resort (over 10+ years going here), but 4th of July is a particularly fun time to go because the Resort has a private fireworks show which is really nice. Most people view the fireworks from the Adult Pool area and there is a buffet for those who stay at the Resort. However, we learned many years ago that the best place to go is the Argyle Restaurant at the Resort s golf club just down the hill, and you can take the Hotel Shuttle. You avoid the crowds and get a great steak dinner. Just before 9PM, the Argyle staff escort you to the 18th green, just off the back of the restaurant, where you have a spectacular view of the fireworks going off above you. If you eat there, 4th of July or anytime, ask for Alex to be your server. Amazing service year after year. When we arrived this year, we had our favorite table and Alex had our favorite wine waiting. We also went for 4 days at Easter and had an amazing suite with the 4th night free. The deals are out there if you just check at random times. When I see the rate I want, I grab it. You can go to Aviara pretty much year round because the weather in Carlsbad is always great. The golf course is amazing and beautifully maintained. The spa is amazing and with Spa access, you get a locker for the day, robe, all the amenities and can wander back and forth between the Spa and the pools. But here is my best tip: when booking this Resort (or any high end property) always check the rates at Whatahotel (Lorraine Travel). I found this site years ago and always book my several trips each year through Whatahottel. Maria Rodriguez is the best ever at getting me great bookings, but everyone there is great. At Aviara, I received the 4th night free deal that the hotel offered and ALSO got the breakfast buffet, $100 resort credit, early check in and late check out, welcome amenity, and spa access (usually $70 a day). I went the Spa 3 days in a row and it was bliss. I always look around at the different offers and packages, but I always end up with a Whatahotel booking because they get the best rate and have all the added perks. This property is great for families and kids and has a game room. I was told that they will be renovating the rooms beginning this Fall, floor by floor, so it will have a complete face lift. One aspect that is nice about this property is that it was a Four Seasons many years ago, so it is not a huge (about 325 guest rooms and 40 or so suites). If you go, and you should, say Hi to Tom when you pull up at the valet and also to Karl at Guest Services. Both are great and it s like seeing old friends when we arrive. They make us feel very welcome and special (but really, everyone is great)

Amazing experience. Here for work, but will be back for vacation. Excellent, attentive staff. Friendly, but not insincere or overbearing. Lots of little extras that make the stay downright decadent.

All the staff and amazing and friendly. Very clean and classy location. Gold club was very maintained. The landscape was perfect even in the rain. Had an absolute amazing experience here and would highly recommend it.

Very nice hotel with upscale amenities.

Very nice hotel with upscale amenities.

Breakfast is worth skipping, just Uber eats something or go out.

Charges for room items were a tad excessive but most hotels are like that these days.

Waiting staff in the lounge is quite thorough and attentive.

Great food at the restaurant, and amazing views from the bar. Staff was awkwardly lacking and error-prone (lost valet tag, mistook operating hours, etc) but still polite and pleasant. Overall nice place

Stayed there before, went back recently for tea. Afternoon tea was good, it could be pricey compared to few other tea places, but you are paying to hang out at a very beautiful place with beautiful grounds, still worth it. Wish I could bring my dog to the tea at the lobby. Service was great both at the tea and at the bar.

We came here for a family vacation and everything about the resort was excellent. 5-star service, great family pool options, and the concierge helped us with every question we had throughout our stay. I'd highly recommend!

This hotel is amazing. The staff couldn't be nicer. They take every opportunity they can to make your stay more comfortable. The rooms are fantastic and very spacious. I especially liked the patio. It was great to sit and have coffee in the morning. It was peaceful. The adult pool was really nice. There was live music there on Saturday night. Very relaxing. I will stay there every time I travel to Carlsbad for work.

Huge hotel, I got lost several times trying to find the rooms where I needed to be, but I got lost and staff directions didn't get me to where I needed to be. Lovely upscale hotel with probably great accommodations but too large and too difficult to navigate for me.
