This place is a fantastic vacation spot! It s been here a long time, however the company generally does a complete overhaul every few years, keeping everything up to date, clean and with all the latest pool equipment, beach toys, room and bungalow amenities. This place has been a family favorite before we had kids, lol. My wife and I used to spend a weekend here once in a while. I highly recommend Paradise Point!

The updated bungalows are furnished very well, spacious, and make you feel very secluded in your own tropical paradise. The beds were comfy, the closet was huge and they're dog friendly! The birds and animals living on the property were a special treat for animal lovers like my husband and I. Being steps from the beach was total paradise. Unlike most beaches in SD, the beachfront on the bay was just a few steps onto the sand rather than a long trek to the water. The fire pits were a great way to end our long day in the sun with takeout or s'mores. The staff are very warm, welcoming, helpful and clearly love their role at the resort.

Our 3 year anniversary stay was a surprise from my Wife to me. What a disaster, given the fact that We held our wedding reception there and had 4 rooms rented along with guest renting more rooms, so $20k, 3 years ago.
We had a bayside "suite", there is a couch and coffee table. It smelled like the cold tile floor had been moped with Bay water. The room is very outdated. The commode was squezed between to walls and your leg rested on the toilet paper holder. Maybe a better place in the summer because the heater had to be kept off because of the noise. The bed was a rock with a blanket, my back still hurts. Bulldoze the place down and start over.

Great views from all rooms 5 pools and they are all very accessible. Friendly amazing staff with available transportation very centric to sea world old town sandiego and a beach within an hour walk. Spa and different restaurants on the property and a store as well as bike rental.

If I could give this place negative stars I would. We got here and had to move rooms because the lights didn't work. When we got to the new room there were bugs. To top it all off someone came into our room while we were gone and stole a good amount of out things. It's definitely not worth the price of the room per night. I'd never stay here again.

LOVED the room, the staff, the grounds and pools. The area itself is quite close to everything most families need (if you have a car). The grounds are spacious enough to walk around and enjoy if you don't plan on leaving the resort. The only on-site restaurant we tried was the pizza one and it was delicious!

The fees are the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars. The resort fee they tack on (expected everywhere now) PLUS parking of $28 a night increased the price of our stay considerably. Each bungalow has it's own designated stall so charging that much for parking is just frustrating. Also - bring your own s'mores makings! We purchased a kit at the gift shop for $23USD! FOR SMORES!?

Resort staff was very friendly! However, a couple employees at the Barefoot & The Marketplace need to work on their customer service. Restaurant food choices are slim and overpriced. The Marketplace is very over priced. They do not disclose all the hidden fees for amenities. The Cabana Restaurant wasn't open even tho it showed it was. The grounds are beautiful & rooms are comfy but everything is very overpriced for what it is.

Beautiful grounds. Room was fine, I was under the impression that I was getting a room with a bay view with big windows that overlooked the bay. We had one little sidelight that was half blocked by a dresser. No chairs on our bayside patio, room description said there would be. We couldn't really enjoy the bay view we paid for.

That being said, rooms were private and large. (Lanai Bay view room) A few restaurants on site. We tried the pizza place, good but really undercooked in the middle.

I wouldn't go back. Our room was over $400 a night, not as advertised and we also had to constantly listen to payloaders working on the beach. It's a nice place but not worth the money.

My review for Trip Advisor and Yelp

My review for Trip Advisor and Yelp
On the day of arrival and upon walking around in our room after pool time and then showering, our feet were dirty (black)which didn t leave us feeling secure about the cleanliness of the rest of the room. Called twice and on both occasions gave windows of hours we would be gone from the room 11-1pm on Thursday then again during dinner from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. No one ever came to mop.

Pools over crowded with no chairs to sit on and on our first day at capacity so had to walk to 3 pools before finding space.
Barefoot Bar ran out of pizza on wed. evening at 7pm and the menu of offerings were already somewhat limited. (Not a huge deal but disappointing).
No liners for the ice bucket in our room.
Transient at small pool that took a full on bath in the bathroom sink for 20min in the bathroom.
No one answered phone for security or the front desk and man bringing towels to the pool could not speak English. No one else was anywhere to be found.
The biggest issue was the terrible issue with getting food. We are here with our Covid Bubble family of 7 (close friends who we have decided to see often for mental health)and Barefoot Bar could not seat us together at tables. After waiting 40 min to be seated (no call ahead or reservations accepted), They seated us closer to another family.
Also-having to order take out food in person at Barefoot Bar (which means walking 6 min, wait in line to order and stay there until food is ready (another 15-20min) then walk back to pool or room.
I understand that these are unprecedented times but, the cleanliness is of utmost importance and couldn t the Barefoot Bar at least have call ahead ordering and call ahead to put your name down for a table? We spent SO much of our very needed get away waiting in line and waiting for food orders (on one occasion received the someone else s breakfast order after returning to the room). Not a great experience to say the least.

This place needs some seriously upgrade for its price.
A/C in the room is LOUD! The noise is above 80 decibels, where usually people cannot sleep at 45. 85 is the threshold to cause hearing damage. Be caution!
The service is not impressive at all. Called front desk for A/C noise and been told sent someone to check. After 2 more calls and 30 mins later, no one show up.

The only solution they offer is to use a fan... This is July in San Diego!

it will not be worth to wait for 4 hours to check in and then you see your Neibors have their tent with more than 30 guests and they are loud and noisy, i e visited more than 50 resorts from different countries but i ve not seen Tent in any Resorts. I ve called front desk more than 6 times, but they couldn t manage their services, I m still here and I m not happy at all but I don t think they can give me any solution, I paid more than $1000 and they ruined our anniversary. In addition to very poor manager s customer service, there were 10 unleashed dogs in property that we asked front desk to use leash on the beach, street or even in our Patio. Never recommend this place!

Coming into this place I thought I'd be blown away because it looks like paradise! I came here for a SilkRoad conference. This place is huge and without any real signs! I checked in and asked for directions to my room. The receptionist gave me directions and stated the men outside could drive me to my destination since I have luggage. When I went outside and asked one of the gentlemen to assist me he gave me directions to walk and proceeded to hop in his cart and drove away...I walked around pretty much half the resort before getting to my room. There are very few signs and they're not helpful at all. My recommendation to this establishment is to add additional signs throughout the resort.

The room was beautiful but there were certain things that I noticed. The bathroom has mold stains forming on the walls. The cover on my bed had what seemed like a blood stain on it which was super alarming. I had a garden view room which was pretty close to the next room so I rarely stepped out.

If you plan on staying here I'd recommend doing a full sweep of your room first so you can call front desk with any concerns.

Rooms were clean, comfortable. Lovely setting. Friendly staff. Good food. We walked to SeaWorld and rented bikes and rode out to Mission Beach. We had a great stay and would love to come back.

Very upset for the hotel charging me for reservations that i had never authorized. I called them back and they said sorry we already ran it and there is nothing we could do . I also asked to speak with the same phone representative and they said she remembers charging it and thats all she remembers..

Moral: be super careful of giving your card and billing information to this place! They like to charge for transactions for no reason!

This is a little out of the way but very private and quiet. I enjoyed walking the grounds but those who prefer shorter walks may find it too spread out. The layout is a bit confusing which means you'll need a bellhop to give you a ride in their cart to find your room.

Weathered and funky place that charges for everything, even to park(37 a night just to keep your car on the island). I wont stay here a again. Room smells musty. There's probably mold everywhere.

Very nice exclusive Resort for Mission Bay. Only bad experience I had was a resort was quite large and they have plenty of golf carts to chauffeur guests around. However, I requested them three times and they never came. One time I actually went to the front desk and there were two golf 6 passenger carts outside without drivers so l asked to be driven back to my room and I waited 20 minutes and never got a ride.

Fantastic setting for a great spa. I have never been to a spa or gotten a massage before, so i was a bit nervous . The staff was very friendly. The masseuse was very nice and made me feel at ease.

The grounds would get a 5 star, rooms a 3 star. We had to request floors to be cleaned as they were obviously not cleaned before we got there. I wouldn't spend the extra for a beach front either unless very minimal upcharge. Very expensive parking at 38/night plus extra tax incurred upon checking out around 30/night. It's not even like it's valet parking which would be acceptable at 38 a night but you have a parking stall by your door It's crazy like just add 38 a night to the room and call it good. We are at the barefoot grill for breakfast and give it a 5. Overall nice place.

The location is very nice, the environment is refreshing. The rooms are OK, but the A/C was really really loud it was difficulty to sleep because of it. When we checked in the room keys didn't work, and it took some time while we got the correct keys. Apart from these the hotel is nice

Place was ok. We stayed at 5 different hotels?resorts while on Vacation and this place was the only one we dint feel " at home". We were not treated like the other places at all and this was the last night and we were more excited about Paradise point then any other stay we had. A BIG letdown compared to what we were thinking : (

Paradise Point was a lovely place to stay! The beach area was fun, the pools were great, if only warmer. So many amenities!! Wish we could have used more! The rooms were wonderful!! Spacious and so clean!

Location is 100% but the service is 0. Barefoot Bar & Grill expect average 40 minute wait. Food expensive and not worth it. Hotel spend no time considering your experience as they clearly get the business due to location. Think and expect airbnb experience rather than hotel experience. Everything is expensive as well.

Fantastic location, very family friendly! We enjoyed rentals of a boat, some jet skis, bikes and paddle boards. Tidal and Barefoot (Poke bowl great) a must have, had late night pizza that wasn't bad, tent with grilling VERY good. The kids enjoyed the Saturday night movie at the main pool, great temperature, good mixed drinks for adults. You are either right off the water or within short walking distance. Cleaning crew is quick and efficient, front desk does their best even during a rush. We will definitely be returning in the future!

Our room wasn t ready when we arrived, despite us requesting an early check in, and we didn t end up arriving early anyway. We requested to be near our friends, but they never put the note in the system. So, we ended up far away from them and had to drive to each other. When they finally gave us our room, someone else was in there. Meaning they made us wait, gave our room to someone else, and then made us wait longer so they could move them. The other couple was also very unhappy. We tried using the adult only pool, but kids where using the area!? Can they get anything right. They offered us a 50 dollar credit when we complained. We travel a lot and this experience was very poor. Don t waste your money with them, there are a lot of hotel options, you don t have to settle for poorly ran hotels.

We rented in July 2020 two queen standard rooms with queen beds Mon-Thur. All the pools were open. Only one restaurant was open for service on those days: Barefoot Bar & Grill. As per state guidelines, limited seating allowed & you had to order food if you wanted to order a drink. At this time no food/drink by the pools. Staff is friendly & responsive. Beautiful grounds. Nice accommodations. Check in was delayed by an hour. Restaurant credit received in exchange. Bring your own cutlery, cups, etc. unless you plan on eating every meal at the restaurant. Uber eats forgot utensils every time & we ended up getting some for $15 at the souvenir shop so we could eat. Coffee/tea provided in rooms, but you'll need to request refills on cups, bottled water, etc. Also need to request the rooms be made up, or else make your own beds & pick up after yourself like at home, which we ended up doing. Overall a pleasant stay. We enjoyed the pools, water sport rentals, fire pit at night & walking the grounds enjoying the plants, birds & scenery. They did seem a little short staffed, but everyone we interacted with provided excellent service. We absolutely enjoyed our stay.

The stay was alright, but room service stole my brothers $140 headphones out of his backpack!! As well as my other brothers $110 Ray-Ban's! The glasses were sitting on a dresser for about an hour.

When we tried to get reimbursed for them they said we didn't have enough proof of them being stollen after we thoroughly explained the situation. Management even agreed with us over the phone that or stuff was definitely taken while we were staying at the resort! If you do end up staying here don't bring anything you really care about cause obviously the resort won't care if it's stollen.

Good luck getting a hold of this hotel. We reserved the wrong room on accident so I made another reservation with the correct room I tried calling for days to cancel the wrong booking with no response. When we left, we accidentally left an item of value in our room and we tried for 7 hours to get through to the hotel using all means possible and never got through. My husband had to drive 3+ hours back to get it because we couldn't reach anyone and we didn't want it stolen or mis-placed by either the hotel staff or a guest. While there we called the front desk multiple times with no answer. Extremely frustrating and stressful!

I was a bit disappointed with the hotel, considering the expense. I took my chihuahua and left him food and water when we left, only to return to see the food covered in ants. Later, the trash can was filled with ants we declined having someone come by to clean considering my chihuahua is not too friendly with strangers, plus I know how clean I can be. It's true, as another review I read, these rooms are very outdated, the bathroom door doesn't even lock. It's a sliding door and somehow you have to switch this handle to hook it on the wall, very frustrating, we eventually just gave up and had to give each other heads up lol. The most upsetting part, there are many pools on the area and one was very close to our location but it was not 'adult friendly'. I was so excited to swim but when we went late at night the deepest area was only 3.5 feet. The 'adult friendly' was a good distance away. I guess my expectations were very different, but I personally feel we can always find a more comfortable room for a much cheaper price. In our previous vacation, we spent much less money for a room that had more space, dog friendly, and had jacuzzi inside! Yes, great service from staff but this hotel only made my bf and I know we won't look into 'luxury hotel' in the future. Pay less and have the same amount of fun!

Okay, the property was nice, but the customer service was a 2. I m not going to go into every single detail of what went wrong, just understand that the customer service is subpar. The rooms are moderate. I would expect better overall for the price. The fish and chips at barefoot were really good.

I very much enjoyed my stay at the resort. It has beautiful grounds spotted with wonderful water ways all accessable with paved pathways. It features pick up mini golf through out the resort as well as three pool, one be an adult only. More

I'm sorry to say, but after twenty years of visiting Paradise Point and referring all of my friends and family to stay - our vacation to Paradise Point in 2020 will be our last. To say this place is poorly managed and overpriced is an understatement. I tried to communicate with the hotel directly before posting any harmful content, but they refuse to respond.

Upon my arrival for a family vacation with two young children, the front desk required me to initial several rules and sign off acknowledging them. Some of these rules included no more than four adults per room, not parties, no large gatherings, and no pets. To our surprise, our neighbors had 25-30 adults playing explicit music, beer pong, with five dogs barking all weekend long. We spoke to management several times and asked for security, and the hotel took no action. We invited friends from Los Angeles for the weekend and, because they had a room as well, we couldn t check out. Had they not been there, we would have left after the first night.

The partying continued for three days. The service in every aspect of the resort was atrocious. The food stunk, wait times were awful, and the pools were overcrowded. It s sad to see a once-great property decline so rapidly. Never again.

Great customer service. Pools nice. Bay not swimable though- signs of bacteria in water

No late night food drinks water or dining etc available after 9:30 pm.

No movies on TV available

Bring your own coffee creamer- only powder packets and sugar n sweet-n-low ( who uses that anymore?)

Great prices on rooms, but boats bikes etc very expensive.

We had a very good mood stay at this resort my personal opinion was that the spa was too expensive. But the hot tub is warm and the waterfall is great the bungalow were comfortable but we had one bed and a couch our other room had one bed a couch and a table Every bungalow had a sliding door to go outside which was nice. The only complaint I have is that housekeeping left my sliding door open after they clean my second day there so I didn t feel like my room was secure after that. So I didn t have house keeping but once and just ordered things we needed from the front desk they deliver it to your room so it was not to inconvenient just order early in the AM or late at night before bed (towels toilet paper etc.) unless you feel safe which I did they did there best to make it right and sent security immediately when we found our door was open. So I know they care. Ps bring your own pillow follow me on

Paradise point Hotel is a great place for all ages to visit. Bring your bon fire stuff, grilling stuff, portable stove, and family to enjoy this place. I gave 4 stars because I went for one night and the check in time was 4pm and checkout at 11am. I tried to get an early check in by showing up 2pm, but we were given the room keys around 4:20pm. They did accommodate us by giving us access to the pool. Besides that the weather was perfect when we were there Aug. 12 at around 73F and partly cloudy. We went jet skiing, which was great and easy to rent. We enjoyed bringing our own meals, as all the restaurants in the area smelled strongly of alcohol. Since we don't drink, the smell was too strong for our liking. But it was very easy for us to cook in the small patio behind out room. That way, we also got a beautiful view of the bay for all our meals.

Main lobby has nothing other than check-in and a couple computers. Rooms are 60's style cabanas with some recent inexpensive updates. Very few plugs, uncomfortable beds, nothing related to modern travel amenities. Vending machines do not work. Went to front desk to ask where vending machines worked on "RESORT" and were told "Third Party Vendors Control and they could not help." Better service and amenities at Motel 6 at 1/4 the price, Without the "high end resort" mentality and no service. Stay away!

I have been very disappointed with the service here. Check-in was not ready on time and also when we went for lunch today the staff missed three people at dinner and it took them more than 30 minutes to provide the meal after they had missed them and still they got some of it wrong. It is also been a task to make sure I Room gets cleaned each day. I would not recommend this resort to others.

The location was amazing. So close to the beach and the bay! Views were beautiful and the lake/pond that was within the resort was gorgeous. Turtles and fish swam about, with lillies floating atop the water.
