Cute hotel rooms, excellent service from staff but confusing to find rooms
The curb appeal of this place is lacking. The front desk area from the outside is less than impressive. Each of the rooms is worse; short, painted brick buildings. However the insides are up to date and comfy. I loved the down pillows. I also had a large, modern (tiny bezels) flat screen and all HD channels (with the correct aspect ratio even) in my room.
I did not like the bathroom. The toilet paper holder was mounted too low and was in a place where every time you sat down your thigh could knock it off behind the toilet.
There were no walking paths around the rooms and I always felt like I was trying to cut through someone's yard when I walked to and from the conference center and front desk.
Also, no desks in the rooms to work. Not really business traveler friendly.
Been here multiple times for a staycation. Always a blast.
Great family resort. Lot to do for the kids. Feels safe and relaxing
Very nice resort by the bay. Has nice pools and tennis courts.
One of the best hotel locations in San Diego! The meeting rooms are right on the water and it is so beautiful there!
Visited for a work seminar. Our breakfast, lunch and snack were provided by the resort and everything has been good so far. They have multiple pools and beach access. Our room was very nice and clean. You are a bit isolated from San Diego but it doesn't take long to get places. We've enjoyed our time here.
Love walking around grounds & seeing all the plants & flowers. We like going to barefoot bar to listen to music on Sundays. It's right on the bay the scenery is beautiful.
Cool hotel and nice beaches. Very expensive food and drinks. Issues with their billing system.
This review is strictly as conference space. Have not stayed as guest although I always appreciate walks around the grounds.
Great location to everything. Central point, literally 15 min to every point of San Diego. The bungalow were very cool. Clean and spacious rooms, beds are not the most comfortable, but clean! Definitely bring your house shoes, not a lot of rugs or carpet and lots of dirt on the pathways before you enter, other than that great place. I love that the place is so spread out, and you could walk through the ponds and see so many types of ducks. Beautiful grounds, recommend staying on the bay!
Was here for a work event so the area of the resort we were in was very nice.
Stayed here for 2 nights recently on a friends recommendation and absolutely loved it. Pure paradise, relaxing, low key. Prices are in-line for what you'd expect being on your own mini-island, and the service staff is super friendly. If we're back in San Diego we will definitely return.
Gorgeous place but don't get tricked into an upgrade, not too different from the cheaper rooms.
We stayed here on a trip to San Diego for 5 nights. The grounds are gorgeous and the staff is top-notch. They are very friendly and helpful - made us feel right at home. The rooms are very nice and some are newly decorated, although there is quite a variety of different room types. Some are beachfront and some are more poolside. Its a big area. Lots to do right in the hotel grounds, dock area and many beaches and pools. A short ride gets you into town for all that San Diego has to offer.
The site is huge. If you park your car in front of the room, you will be charged an additional fee of around $ 30 a day. (In combination with the resort fee, it's about 70 dollars ...) I feel like I can take a walk along the coast in the morning.
The service and experience was just above and beyond. Loved it
Oh man where do I freaking start. Was gonna give 3 but I was truly disappointed. This place is definitely not worth the price. The rooms are dated and could use an upgrade. Yes this place is close to theain beach and some attractions but it also comes with a bunch of traffic to deal with and distance to get to other cool places. 38 bucks per night for parking with no free parking option?? Come on. 30 something for use of internet and other facilities, really? Robbery at its finest. we used the pool then after some time called for fresh towels 3 separate times with no one ever showing up. Over 45mins and nothing, including other people wlwho tried calling. The mini fridge doesn't work, we called to get it replaced only to be brought a "new" one that kept nothing cold. Bathroom door was a poor wooden slide door that didn't close good. Now I know to stay at a regular hotel than this overpriced garbage. You really are better off someplace else. Room was spacious but for what we were paying you expect something of better quality, what a let down.
Great resort! Truly second to none in a city with countless other "resorts".
Its a beautiful hotel, but the expensive $150 pet fee and refusal to let us check out late were very unfortunate.
We booked our stay for a September wedding. The day After the 'deal' your reeled in with only to get an email BTW it's an Extra charge for parking and use of facilities ??? Leading up to an extra charge of $70 per day! This should have been clarified with honesty when booking the stay. That's so deceitful!!!
The name of this place couldn't be more fitting. It truly is paradise. You feel as though you've left the country. The beautiful landscaping and unbeatable views alone, are enough to warrant a stay at this resort. And when you factor in the truly exemplary staff, this place becomes a must stay.
This was the second year one of my volunteer organizations hosted a conference on site and the venue was worth the 3,000 mile flight across the country. The staff was 100% on the ball, the grounds gorgeous and the overall facility great to walk between meetings. Highly recommend for those with little ones/families as well as it's laid out with many things for them to do.
Paradise Point is BEAUTIFUL, almost like a tropical getaway. Everyone is VERY FRIENDLY and there are a lot of fun things to do.
First time Guest... We wanted a room by the beach it was an upgrade so we opt to stay with the two queen beds. We requested a roll away we were told it was a fire hazard. We wanted a fire pit told first come first serve. If you wanted a fire pit you have to reserve it at booking. Room ok but faced other guest lanai ok I guess. Then charge a $37 parking fee and a $30 dollar resort fee. Wow bargin price not so much.... Grrrr pricey, out dated the location was awesome, but $400. Dollars later I say a bit pricey.
I really wanted to like the hotel since I paid so much. I feel like they could have kept up with the grounds better . People in the room next to us were screaming for hours. The room was dirty, walls had dirt marks, toliet had sand on the lid and i saw 4 spiders in one night. Someone was in my parking spot pretty much all night even thought I paid $40 for parking which I wasn't aware of the price for parking til I arrived
Rooms have been recently renovated, but construction is still ongoing in some sections of the resort. Many activities are an additional fee to utilize.
This place is amazing. You can rent sailboats and boats, and their staff is very kind and accommodating.
The bar/grill on site is an amazing plus. A GREAT way to spend a day with fam/friends.
Wow, being the 2nd day of a 3 day trip, very happy with the place
Absolutely love this vacation spot! I went here about 4 summers ago and will never forget the experience! I stayed for 4 days and had a blast going in the beach and bay. I plan on going again, but I don't know when. Thank you Paradise Point for an extraordinary experience. I love swimming and hanging with friends and family on the beach. Sand tastes sandy and salt water tastes salty, but jet skis are fun as well? Love rooms, shopping, sightseeing, and other activities! Phenomenal staff and maintenance. I eat losers for breakfast. Vroom Vroom Skrt Skrt #ilovemybeachesandeatsomefishes
The price is for the location NOT the rooms. Bathroom is gross with what appears to be black stains or mold.
Had to transfer to another room due to the smell.
Another guest was using drugs in parking lot in front of my kids, confronted and got kids back in the room.
This is probably one of the best tourist resorts to stay in San Diego. Quiet, beautiful, and plenty of activities on site.
Good people and amazing views. Definitely recommend!!
This is an awesome resort located in the middle of mission bay, I just visited friends that were staying here and it looks like multiple pools and places to eat on site, some is open to public also. Cute bungalows with porches and fire pits
Our stay was great! Lots to do, food was FABULOUS. I would have given a 5 star except we had cobwebs in our room. Staff offered to move us, we declined as we were already unpacked and settled in.
The rooms are ok. I stayed there with my friend. When we left I forgot my curling iron. MY friend went back in 2 hours to ask for it. They said they never found it.
Went out to Paradise Point for a family reunion. The location was great and made you really feel like you weren't in the city. Fit and finish on the newly remodeled room was pretty bad in a number of our rooms. Our room alone had a half finished paint job, a towel rack that want attached to the wall, cobwebs everywhere, an entrance door that you could see sunlight over and sheets that didn't fit the bed. Our entry door also had so much paint on it that you had to put a shoulder into it to get it open. All of the pools were said to be heated but we only found one that actually was. The resort fee and parking fees were HEFTY. Our timeshare is ten times the quality for a third of the price.
This resorte is a wonderful get away .so peaceful and rexlaing . Rooms are huge.
It's a very pretty place with lots of friendly staff. We went out on a rental sailboat, and had a good time. They upgraded our boat since we had a large group and they had an available boat. They rent a large variety of watercraft. There is a large play area for the kids, plenty of parking and a great restaurant.
The room I stayed in on 9-3-2020, had a leaky bathroom faucet, that leaked on the ground. As u walked in u could smell the bad stinch of mold in the room, the base board and every corner of the room look like it hasn't been cleaned for along time. Lights had spider webs on them also. It was hard to sleep in that room and even though I complained to management, all they did was move me to a different room and wave the parking few that they charge u for... Paradise point has fees for all amenities even tho u can't use most of them because of covid 19. I would never spend my hard earned money at paradise point resort. It was everything else but a paradise.
We plan on going back. Wonderful way to spend our anniversary.
My room was by the water front sbdvwss a beautiful site. Rooms are clean and remodeled. Con signage couldn't find room
Very nice resort in close proximity to beaches. Grounds are beautiful, service was warm, and overall very relaxing.
Beautiful view of the bay. A bit cold in the tent and it was a walk to the bathroom. Not a lot of parking in the convention area.
My boyfriend and I are both in school full time, while working full time jobs. We rarely ever go out with our friends do to scheduling conflicts. However we have made it a point to come to Paradise Point Resort & Spa at least twice a month to relax. It really feels like a mini vacation and all the rooms are absolutely gorgeous. The food is amazing!
Beautiful Resort. Friendly and very profesional and helpful staf. Great place to relax, dine, swim. Close to all the great places in San Diego.
Beautiful hotel. Kid friendly, and so much to enjoy.
Wonderful place. Took a bit of nagging to get some assistance but they eventually came through. Everyone was very nice and professional.
Paradise point resort is just simply beautiful. Great family environment. I would highly recommend this.
What a beautiful resort! Friendly staff, great room, amazing amenities and restaurants! Absolutely loved my stay there!
It's like a tropical Hawaiian island! Beautiful rooms, amazing amenities, and beach front views in every direction!
This is one of the best Spa facilities I ever been too! The ladies at the from desk are great, the massage therapist was amazing. The facility was breath taking is surrounded by nature and is at walking distance from the beach. The Spa has a nice small sauna room, showers, snacks available and misc supplies.
We enjoyed it so much we have booked a return visit. It is perfect for the preschool grandson and has adjoining cottages to accommodate grandma.
Lets start off by say this was the weekend of my wedding. I would be happy to give them a 5 stars but I have to be honest. I specifically made arrangements to clean the room and do something nice for the night of my wedding. I mentioned I m willing to pay while at checkin, then was told it s your wedding night, we will comp that for you . I said ok, it needs to be special because it s my wedding night. We also called to make sure the room was clean that same night because its a special night (the night of the wedding).
Results: room wasn't clean, and we had a card (very sloppy) and a bottle of wine. Which means someone came into the room, saw that it wasn t cleaned, left the items and left the room unorganized. On my wedding night we came back to our room to a mess and nothing special but a bottle of wine and a card that looked like a 3rd grader wrote it.
We then decided to call the front desk (on the night of our wedding) to asked what happened? We were then told that the housekeeping crew already left and no one could come to clean the room. To apologize, they promise $50 room credit for breakfast and the inconvenience.
Results: We ran out of toilet paper because that was the same room the bridesmaids got ready in. We got breakfast that came to $76.16. Two days later....no $50 credit. So once again I had to call Paradise Point to ask what happened. Pat told me that the $50 credit was applied and that was the remaining balance. She eventually figured it out and now we will wait to see what happens.(will update)
Final Thoughts: Loved the room, the resort is incredible, food is great, activities are near and the staff is "usually" amazing! However, very disappointed on the follow through.
Warning** if you plan on doing something special for someone you care about. Don't rely on the staff here at Paradise Point to get it done, oh and bring toilet paper because if they don't clean the room, you are doomed!
This place is fun...renting boats, hanging out on the bay and even staying the night the rooms were super clean and cute.
Booked the Jr Bayside Suite for my Brides 50th Birthday Party. The suite was a perfect setting for our guests (total of 60). The staff was so friendly and very accommodating.
I am an obsessive vacation researcher. Excel spreadsheets, endless google searches, the whole nine yards. I am so glad we discovered this beautiful place! It is so family friendly! I can see why a lot of the families we met at the resort said that they have been bringing their families here for many years. All the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Our bungalow was a Lanai Premium with a lagoon view and was right across the way from the ocean. We only checked out the main pool and the waterfall pool. The main pool is the best because it s centrally located and has a fire pit for s mores roasting. It s open til 10pm as well! The coffee baristas were all very friendly as well. My only advice is to bring lunch stuff, snacks and your own alcohol. Charging everything to your room can be dangerous because everything there is premium priced. Other than that, it was an awesome experience and we had an amazing family trip!!
Came here for a conference. It was like going to hawaii in san diego. Really nice place and the staff were awesome. easy to get to and right around the corner from pretty much everything you come to San Diego for!
Great environment, luxurious, optimal service and excellent getaway
Great comfort ! Except some rude security guy came by & tried forcing the door open but other than that it was great!
The resort was awesome! Great for kids but just 2 small recommendations, put hand soap in the bathroom! I ve never in my life stayed at a hotel or resort that didn t have hand soap in the bathroom, we had to use the shower gel to wash our hands. We thought maybe the turn down service just forgot but after 6 days we were still not given hand soap, not a big deal but strange. Also, keep the coffee bar open all day! It closes at 10:30 and there s nowhere else on the grounds to get a good coffee. We ll definitely be back though....we ll plan to bring our own hand soap!
Do not book this hotel looking at their website. It is no where near to what it looks like on the internet, cleanliness wise or quality wise. You will be disappointed when you open your guest room. The wooden looking floor is too cold to put your feet on and the curtains are torn and may be NOT washed for years. The room smells like wet linen. And yes, the bedding feels wet too (may be they forgot to throw it in the dryer perhaps?) The lamps have oil stains on them. Hating every bit of my stay here. Please Stay away from this hotel!
Location is very nice. It's very atmospheric. Rooms are clean and neat. The service is good and all staff personnel are nice.
Check in was a breeze & we were given a free upgrade to a better room with a view. The rooms were very clean & quiet. My only complaint was that the beds are too hard. I have back issues, but then again I've never stayed on a hotel that had comfortable beds. LOL. I would highly recommend this place to anyone seeking a family getaway.
Tons of fun things to do with the family from biking, to boating, to feeding the fish and ducks, to roasting smores in the fire pits on the beach, and even enjoying a spa day.
The rooms were updated nicely, but not as clean as I would have liked. When there was someone loud outside the windows you could hear them and also in the adjoining room the noise could be heard when they were really loud.
Also, when we came back from Legoland the sink handle was broken and came off every time we turned it on and off. The cleaners must have broken it when they were in cleaning the room and hadn't gotten in fixed which was unfortunate.
The price of the spa was very expensive and the services and staff were exceptional. However, the drain on the shower was clogged and I had to stand in a puddle of back up water which was disgusting. The shower head also didn't work, thankfully there was a second one with a hose that you could kind of position to a somewhat enjoyable position. The toilet also didn't flush. For the high prices paid for the services in the spa, I feel like these maintenance problems should not be occuring.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but would not go back again due to the high prices of the hotel and spa and for what you get for your money.
