Paradise Point Resort is a lovely place for vacation
Really nice resort. Close to everything you need to do in San D
The pool was amazing but a little packed, the rooms were really nice and spacious. We really liked it.
Awesome location but a little outdated. Great place to stay by the bay.
Nice secluded spot. I was at a seminar here and conference facilities seemed good. We had a few issues here and there and housekeeping was a little slow but overall I liked it. Bungalows are nice and private.
Took my mom for her birthday, and she said it was literally the best birthday she'd ever had
Went here for my Prom night and it was amazing. The decor was great, staff were friendly, and the bathrooms were spotless.
The views to the Bay were very nice. There wasn't any available table on the shade, so by the end of the brunch we were eager to leave before getting a sunstroke. I enjoyed the cocktail more than the food. Not saying that the food wasn't good, but the brunch competence is fierce in San Diego :). Overall, a good place to bring visits, as the views give a good San Diego vibe.
Was here for the annual Hot Buttered Run 10k. The venue was great, and the resort staff was helpful and courteous pre and post race.
Fantastic resort. Came for a work conference. Everything you need is on the island! It is gorgeous!
Stayed here with family for 2 nights. There are some hidden fees to be aware of, $29 for "resort activities and wifi" and $37 for parking so keep that in mind. They did have a Friday night movie in the pool for the kids and they enjoyed it.
Beautiful location and nice rooms, feels like hawaii
It was a pleasant experience. Rooms were clean. Only thing was the bathroom door didn't work. The outside areas were nice.
Stayed here for a conference. The bartenders are nice! And the rooms are pretty decent.
Wonderful aminities! We came on our belated honeymoon and first time away from the kids. Its a little piece of paradise and would recommend to anyone. Location i great a 5 -15 min drive old town, down town and the midway. We will be back!!!
Our family has been staying at Paradise Point for numerous years. We love our stay-cation here. We always stay in the bunglows on the bay. The rooms are modern and clean. As soon as you drive on the property you feel like your on a tropical island.. The rooms are a bit expensive and there are lots of fees but all in all great experience .. We are checking in soon , my husband is celebrating his 60th birthday.
The resort is surrounded by water. Very pretty area. The bungalow we stayed in was right next to one of the many pools. The pools and hot tub are outside and heated. The room was clean and with great privacy.
For the price I paid I was disappointed at the lack of customer service. It was great being so close to the water but the facilities were a bit unkempt.
I spent four days and nights at Paradise Point for a large conference. My experience was wonderful, so much so that I regretted having to spend so much time participating in my conference responsibilities. There was much to distract a less focused man, including a great choice in restaurants, many pools, and great scenery. The staff was extremely pleasant and attentive. I loved the bungalow approach. Loved breathing outdoor air (instead of "hotel air"). I could not have asked for more.
We had a beautiful wedding ceremony there. Tidal dinner was amazing!
Rooms were disgustingly dirty -- Floors so dirty that the soles our feet were black after walking barefoot on them for 1/2 hour. Lots of lack of attention to detail. Bride & Groom's room not ready at check in - 1/2 hour prior to ceremony it was finally ready. Seemed understaffed. Would not recommend at this time.
Very relaxing, beautiful, quiet and clean facilities. People seem to be pretty respectful of each other while staying here. The staff is quite pleasant to work with if there are issues or you just need info or directions if you get lost walking around. My room didn't have a microwave, which was an unnecessary nuisance. Great restaurants on site, but what's the point in taking back leftovers if you can't heat them up? Microwaves are cheap these days, so there's really no excuse. Still a five star stay though. I'll be back for sure next time I'm down in SD. Room was clean, as was the bathroom. The TV was huge and good quality. Lots of USB charging points in the room. AC worked well and was really quiet compared to most hotel AC units. Bed was pretty firm but still comfortable.
I wouldn t even give it a star if that was an option. This place is terrible. So many hidden fees it s ridiculous. The $38 to park a night, isn t optional, doesn t matter where you park on the resort you have to pay $38. It s a also $100/a night for your security deposit, which lets be honest, is a bit much. The room is decent, but I ve had nicer at Hilton s and Marriot s. Totally not worth your money. The employees are also extremely rude, and act like you should know about all the expenses. It s absolutely ridiculous, and you can bet my money I will never be back to this place.
Pretty cool resort with nice views and your own private cabin/lodge? not sure what to call it
STAY AWAY! We drove 6 hours to de-stress and relax and boy did this place do the opposite!
Note: THIS IS NOT A BEACH! This is a cove/bay/lagoon. There is also some piping that is connected to the water so who knows what's going on with that water. Also, the sand is ROUGH and there are TWIGS everywhere. When the "tide is low" there are visible green algae.
Renting two "beach" facing bungalows for 2 nights and we're already off to a bad start upon check in. One bungalow was ready while the other bungalow was not. To top it off, there was a truck parked in our parking spot, and the staff didn't care to do anything about it when we first notified them at 3pm, until we notified them AGAIN once 4pm check in time hit and the truck was still there, and we still didn't have keys to our room.
The Assistant Manager and security came to talk to us and was beyond unprofessional and rude. He kept citing codes that didn't mean anything because they should have had 5 hours to make contact with the owner of the truck when the truck was still present after their 11am check out time. We asked when did they first make contact with the guest, and they just looked at each other dodging the question. Also, he said they were giving the owner of the truck more leniency because they were a previous guest. I then remarked that apparently that guest was valued more than us first timers, and he rudely said he doesn't know why I would say that. Ummm...hello?? Why would I not?
Also, what kind of incompetant management brings their unprofessional security to rudely confront their guests? She could have relayed the message herself and been more apologetic and accommodating, but nope.
.....So we just heard back from the Assistant Manager and apparently they force moved the previous guest (I think they double booked this room) and the guest just left his truck here. So, why didn't they know that previously, and why didn't they properly take care of it before we arrived?
So, if you stay here, know that you can park in reserved spots and not get towed, because according to the rude security man, some California code says you can't tow a car unless you've been made contact with. So, park where you want and dodge their calls, and they won't tow you.
ALSO, as we were leaving the lobby at 4pm, we overheard another family who were there before 3pm, say that their room still wasn't ready, it was then 4:15pm. So not having rooms ready at their 4pm check in time is a common practice of theirs?? Check out at 11am and check in AFTER 4pm, how can you even enjoy being there?
In addition, their cleaners walk in and out of the rooms when cleaning to go accross somewhere to grab towels and they carry the towels on their body and shoulders, I'm sure they are quite sweaty with all that physical labor and walking back and forth...yuck.
STAY AWAY! Not worth the money! This place needs to work on their management, staff, and customer service.
Go to Montage in Laguna instead. You will be treated much better there and actually enjoy your stay.
Visited a guest who was stating here. Seemed like an awesome resort to vacation at!
The bungalow style rooms add a huge plus factor to this resort. Very friendly staff with plenty of things to do on the island its self. Barefoot Bar and Grill was our favorite place to eat, one night we ordered room service, and they made me a custom salad. The multiple pools make for more room to roam without a lot of overcrowding. I feel they go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable and it shows. We would stay again!
We had so much fun just walking around with the dogs yesterday. San Diego has had lots of rain so everything is so green and tropical! Beautiful day in our neighborhood
I met a friend who's overnight guest at their hotel for her birthday at the beach front of her room. Just gathering celebrate together. Never went in Paradise Point Resort.
Great place to relax if you want to be able to stroll around and enjoy a view of the ocean.
The dock by the restaurant has awesome views of ocean fish in shallow water. Restaurants are quite good. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
I wish I could rate minus star but there's no that option. This place is horrible for my party of 8 friends, especially two of them were here for honeymoon!
The new couple's personal items(including wedding shoes, jewelries, etc.) got stolen on the second day! We are pretty sure all the doors are well locked before leaving. What really hurt us is the attitude of the hotel. They as the hotel managers/front desk assistants/security guard DO NOT KNOW what is the policy with guest lost. As guests, we don't feel safe, we don't feel comfortable, we don't feel the hotel is willing to take any responsibilities. The executive manager who can make decisions is not available until Monday and we are leaving Saturday night. What they can tell us is they will contact the insurance company and there is no guarantee for reimbursement. This really hurt our feelings.
Not to mention you can see ants/flies in the room, the hotel overcharged you with package from no where or even refuse to provide the correct room we booked!
Be careful and be safe if you've booked!
A great place to hold an event. Beautiful venue! Parking is a bit of a pain but can totally be overlooked.
Beautiful location. Was there for a conference so had evenings & one day to play. We walked on roads a lot until bike rental person showed us the paths on the map between bldgs.(Thank you!) Didnt have a car -had never used Uber & had trouble with set up & 1st usage. Staff gave suggestions, but weren't as helpful as I hoped. Ate at caveman & kept leftovers in fridge. I'd be great to have a microwave to warm leftovers! We were able to get some fruit & yogurt for a quick breakfast, but then fridge froze everything- frozen watermelon is nasty & was mush after it thawed! Pinapple survived. Couldn't see how to turn fridge down. Barefoot grill was fine for 2 meals, but menu is small & a bit pricey... so then we learned to use Uber Eats. Fitness center is great for a quick morning workout before meetings. Bellmen were great-very accomodating. They are the front line & should be well taken care of. The room wasnt serviced 1st two days. They came about 6pm on 3rd day. May need more staff to help service rooms as the floors get pretty dirty, especially with all the rain & mud we had those 2 days. Even a dust mop in the room would be helpful. Shampoo in room is deluted- conditioner isnt that great either. Wished I'd brought my own. Pool was nice & clean. Hot tub was very hot. I would come again with a few changes in what I pack & prepare for.
Had lunch there on Sunday with family. Location is great, service was fine, food was good. My only complaint was the live band (at 1:00 in the afternoon) was pretty loud. We weren't able to talk outside, so we moved inside. Maybe live music Sunday afternoons is routine here?
the room and sheets were dirty and management on duty was rude.
The hotel recently installed new back doors that automatically lock on you. They failed to mention that to me when I checked in and my key card didn't even work on the back door, the key card worked fine on the front door. How I found out the key card didn't work on the back door was a bit nerve wracking; I was just stepping out for some fresh air, I didn't have my cell phone, I was alone, it was late in the evening, and couldn't find anyone to let me back in my room after realizing the key card didn't work. Oh and if you are thinking why didn't I walk to the front and just let myself in. Well, since I was alone, after getting situated, I secured the front door by locking it from inside. Anyway, I finally arrived to the lobby, finally found someone to assist me, but I was treated rudely, as if it were my fault. However, the maintenance person confessed it was the malfunction of the new doors installed and still nothing was done.
The resort was in a great location but the service was terrible. Our rooms was filthy, housekeeping was not allowed to enter the room. There was a cob web at the corners of the room and had some safety concerns because there was kids n the room. Don t expect to have a nice dinner because they only seat outside and always booked so limited seating. The supervisor refused to talk to us or even compensate for resort fee. Very bad service
Beautiful setting. Did a great job hosting a good size charity event.
Just ok. The marina is more Lake than ocean. Kind of dated.
This is a unique location with a very tropical vibe right near downtown San Diego and the airport. Excellent spot for team meetings especially for out of town guests.
Beautiful property. Great for professional or personal/recreational events.
Clean, excellent service, beautiful place, passion, silence, excellent
Drink prices were ridiculous. The facility was very nice
Spent the night with my son for a fun night away. We had one of the bungalows towards the back near the bay. Our room was clean, huge, and the bed very comfortable. The pools were all well heated. Great food. Prompt service. Would highly recommended this place to anyone who needs a quiet night away from it all.
Convenient place to rent well-maintained sailboats! Helpful staff and great location.
My daughter invited myself and my grandson for an overnite stay. The resort was easy to get to. Visitor parking was convenient. With my daughter, her son , and my second grandson there was plenty to keep us occupied. Our first adventure was a boat ride. Then fun at the pool. On to the beach area. And then back to the pool for more fun and a movie. Plenty of yummy food. The Caveman pizza was really good. Food and service at the pool quick and good. There was no food service available during the movie. My daughter called for pizza and chili. It seemed to take quite a while for delivery. Food was ok. The place was very convenient. We we able to walk to everything . When tired we only had to call for pickup. And the kids loved the carts. The only thing about the room that was not to my taste was the toilet next to the bathtub. It seemed a very small area.
Charming and helpful staff, quaint bungalows with great views of the cove. Went for a wedding and everything was top notch.
DOES NOT OFFER MILITARY RATE.. GUESS THEY DON'T LIKE THE US
The wedding we attended was very beautiful and intimate! Gorgeous setting and amazing food!
Great room, horrible navigation!
This resort off on it's own island is gorgeous with lush landscaping and large,
bright, pleasant, airy bungalow rooms and parking conveniently located right outside the rooms.
However getting around this place is a nightmare! The signage is terrible during the day and practically invisible at night. The one-page map should be two-sided so that the labels and numbers can be read by those with eyes older than 40.
Together, this means that you will wander towards something but not be sure you are going in the right direction. I have great spacial sense and situational awareness yet have been constantly lost for the last two days.
Since this is totally preventable and everyone on the staff is aware of the problem (Security guard told me it takes three days to get used to the layout but only during daylight), I gave this resort only one star,
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The resort is extensive and beautiful, with multiple onsite restaurants. Exterior lighting needs improved but overall enjoyed the location.
Great resort, very lush grounds. Beautiful island style vacation spot. Lots to do and see while staying here. There are 3 restaurants on of which has it's own lagoon with fish and leopard sharks! Bonfire pits line the beach here for evening entertainment by the water. If I had one thing to complain about is all the golf carts for the employees, they are everywhere and you cant hear them coming. Would stay again though.
This resort is really pretty. Older place but really nice.
I was there for a funeral. The catering was good but usually empty.
Great atmosphere. Eating is excessively expensive. And why charge for water?
The grounds are very scenic, the pools are very nice. The staff is pleasant and helpful. Room is a bit dirty unfortunately - my kids feet and mine were turning black from walking on the floor. One of our towels had black marks and blood stains. Restaurant pricing is what you'd expect, but the views and bay are beautiful.
The staff is beyond friendly and so helpful. The resort is absolutely beautiful.
Beautiful resort on its own private peninsula. The grounds are lovely, if a little confusing.
Very nice place to stay. Lots of beautiful vegetation. Staff was friendly to deal with. Good location close to ocean beach. Ample pools. In fact the whole trip we had a whole pool and hot tub to ourselves. Close to many attractions. Lots of things to do within the resort itself. Kayaking, bicycling, restaurants and bars. Only complaint would be the resort fees and parking fees are a bit high. If those were lower I would definitely come back every year. I will still consider this an option.
Beautiful location on a peninsular in Mission Bay. All rooms are on the ground floor with good noise insulation. The beach of only a few footsteps away, no matter your room. With fire pits on the beach, water craft and bicycle rentals, and several pools there is plenty to do. However, we found service quite lacking, our room wasn't available until a couple hours after the check-in time. Other people had paid for early check-in and still couldn't get into their rooms. Food service in the restaurants was slow and the staff inattentive. The 3% cost of living fee on the food bill was tacky -- your prices should (and seem to) cover your staff costs, don't play politics with a fee. Every room has a designated spot, but you charge extra for parking?! These irksome things spoil how nice the facilities are.
It's been great! Kind of a late check in time but aside from that, our stay has been wonderful!
Grounds are beautiful and the bungalows are fun but our bathroom was filthy. And they make you pay to park there...for the cost of a night's stay...you'd think parking there would be a no brainer...disappointed in paying $37 a night to park a car...I guess you're supposed to walk there
Been comong here for 20 years. Recently remodeled rooms! Dock space.
Our room had bugs. Be careful to check your room after dark.
