So, all the negative reviews are pretty accurate. More like a motel then a resort. Old, needs repairs, no curtains on the bedroom windows, only blinds...which is weird. Could easily hear the neighboring room through the connector door. Room amenities are non existent. Silverfish and other bugs in the sinks and tub. They don't even print menus, you have to look up choices online.

I will say the front desk service was good and helpful. Room service was timely. All the hotel staff was great, just a rundown resort. Too expensive for the accommodations.

Disappointing. Day 2 of a long weekend and so far not impressed. Restaurants can't handle the volume so you have to leave to eat. No one serviced our rooms. And the walls are so thin our neighbors kept us up all night.

We were there to rent a boat but we ended up eating at the Barefoot bar and grill. It was ok. They try but could have been much better. The rental crew was very good. Our kayak adventure was very enjoyable.

Paradise Point is not worth the money. I was deceived into paying $800/night for a suite that was advertised as 650 sq ft (it is actually 476 sq ft) and I was led to believe that this is a 5 star resort. Please do not be deceived. The walls are paper thin (every word of our neighbor s conversation could be heard). The decor is dated, the quality is poor and the staff are not interested in making your experience exceptional. Additionally, the rooms are not very clean. We couldnt walk on the tile in bare feet. The grounds are quite nice, but a good gardener does not make an experience worth this kind of money.

All of the rooms are newly renovated in a modern style and they are all arranged about the island so everybody has one good perk for location. The restaurants are pretty good, but pricey (which is to be expected with a resort). I would also definitely recommend the spa for a massage.

Visited for my sisters wedding and stayed 4 nights in a Lanai Bayside room. The room was very comfortable, clean and nicely decorated! A little heads-up that not all of the Bayside rooms are the same, as some feature a wall of windows on the bay side and others only have a door and small window (which means you don't really have an easy view of the bay). One thing I noticed was how quiet the room was. The rooms on either side of us were occupied and we never heard anything. The Island Market has all the necessities (toiletries, snacks, beer/wine/liquor) and other gift shop items. The beach around the island has fire pits all along it and a nice way to end an evening. The Island Market sells wood, but you can get the same thing for cheaper at nearby stores. My sister had her wedding on the resort at the Island Point Lawn, which is right by the marina, and it was a gorgeous setting! The wedding team did a great job and everything was perfect! We enjoyed breakfast each morning at the Barefoot Bar & Grill and visited for drinks and dinner too. Everyone I encountered throughout the resort was pleasant and friendly. If we're ever back in San Diego, we will definitely stay at Paradise Point again!

We ate lunch at the Barefoot Bar & Grill. The Gnarly nachos were the bomb. My husband had the O.G. grilled cheese and we both loved the French fries. There is a lagoon like an aquarium that is fun to watch the fish, eel and sharks swim around.

Double Queen rooms are much roomier and nicer than the single Queen room. Quieter area away from main pools. Overall really convenient location and nice grounds. Would rate 4* for rooms and grounds. But the -1 was for overbooking and placing us in a single room with 4 occupants. Then offering only a $50 discount. They were able to get us into the correct room the next afternoon...

All of you have said a lot of comments before. I would like to add a very important message: Every morning at 9:00, not far from the lobby, the city tour bus will send a car to pick up people to the city. Anyone who buys go pass can ride for free. Only once a day, don't miss it.

This is a beautiful resort. I attended a conference at the resort and I have to say that I loved it. Even though there was a misunderstanding with my reservation, the staff was able to make accommodations. Overall I experienced great service. I deferentially recommend it and hope to be back on a family trip here.

Phenomenal experience at Paradise Point Resort. Lovely and large rooms with great amenities, convenient and delicious restaurants, access to multiple private beaches, and beautifully lush landscape design. Cottage style units perfect for social distancing!
Highly recommended for families looking to relax and enjoy summer vibes in a safe environment!
Resort staff stop vehicles at resort entrance for health screening. Restaurant staff remind customers to wear masks when getting up from the table or while not eating. Face masks provided in rooms.
Have not experienced this level of hospitality with regard to coronavirus in any other hotel in San Diego. Will definitely return!

Just tried to check in to the hotel. The experience has not been great so far. I will update this if I see that the experience changes. We had requested early check in. Of course, I understand that it is subject to availability. However there are two points: 1) if I am checking in and you are telling me that the room is ready but just needs to be confirmed by housekeeping, then I would think that the room will be ready soon. 2) Three hours later, if I am asking if the room is ready and the answer is still the same, I am entitled to a response to the question of when it will be ready. Instead, there is no response. Apparently, "housekeeping does not tell them when the room will get ready". So this brings me to my third point. Just don't tell your guests that early check in is possible during booking.

The overall customer centricity is quite lacking in my opinion and I am hoping that the experience changes for the better. But so far, there are no upsides.

We loved the resort as a whole. The layout is beautiful, restaurants had good food and service. My only complaint is the housekeeping. We were in a room on the beach, room 429 to be exact.
The floors were dirty when we checked in and were never cleaned the entire 3 day stay. I know because there was sand on the floor in the bedroom and a rubber band near the bathroom door and they remained there our entire stay. The white spread on the bed had dirt marks on it and the towels were frayed at the bottom.

It's not cheap to stay here, for the money we spent I would have expected better linens and cleanliness of our room.

We were placed in this outdated, dirty, overpriced room initially. After we complained we were moved to a nicer updated room. Breakfast for two was $60. What they called the beach was not a beach. The sunsets were beautiful. This place has seen it's day and needs a total update.

If you dont stay here it is a cool place to visit. Tropical paradise with ponds and beautiful landscapes. It is worth it to just walk on by. Dont forget to stop by Barefoot Cafe for great food and drinks. They have a beautiful oceanfront pond with a bridge that goes over it. They have so many beautiful local marine species. Worth going just to see this and no fishing allowed please

Beautiful resort and amenities, but the rooms need to be more thoroughly cleaned between guests. Walls between rooms are very thin, you can hear everything! Food quality at the restaurants was excellent and it was great having bike and boat rentals onsite!

Great fun hotel. Resort feel. Friendly staff. Clean refurbished rooms. Great facilities and amazing pools. The resort fee and parking fees are separately charged and rather high, but you get what you pay for, parking right next to the room and great facilities.

Hidden gem in San Diego. Great for stay cation. The staff were polite and attentive. We only bought coffee at the restaurant but it has great ambiance. Would like to go back and try dinner.

They need more detailed resort maps and signage. Rooms difficult to find and the resort does not allow late checkout. Had to leave room by 11 am even though conference continued to 12:30. Unlikely to stay here again.

Amazing resort...service at the Barefoot cafe sucked though...sat there for 10 minutes before being acknowledged just to be told our waiter just arrived and will be right with us. The person letting us know we obviously have been waiting didn't even offer us a beverage while we waited. Sat patiently for an additional 5 min just for noone to arrive, so we decided to leave and while leaving the hostess who also saw us didn't even ask what happened.

My daughter and I went here for Christmas and it was magical and just what we needed. When you drive in you drive through a pathway of beautiful trees which is beautifully striking. They had activities for kids and they played the new grinch movie. The service was very nice! I only wish they had shuttle service to Seaworld. There s a lot of wild life and we had fun watching the birds by the water while we ate dinner outdoors at the cantina which is kid friendly. The entrance to the barefoot grill is fun but once you get inside it s like a cafe. The cantina has a waterfall and is a much better atmosphere. They serve everything the Barefoot grill has, so I recommend going there instead.

This review is for this location as a conference v...

This review is for this location as a conference venue. Paradise Point is on an island on the northwestern side of SD, making it rather inconvenient to get to/from without a car. It is also essentially impossible to visit downtown SD without committing several hours to it.
The resort consists of rooms sprawled out across a large area spaced out by roads and parking spaces, which makes getting from the room to the conference hall a journey in itself. During off-season, their primary restaurant is closed, so you don't have any choice for dining aside from their bar/grill options (can't walk anywhere to eat since it's an island)
The conference rooms are cramped, and the lighting is poorly thought out. The sun sets opposite of the projection screen, washing out the slides. Additional, there was another conference happening at the same time, and we could hear everything going on in the other rooms. The walkway to our conference location was perpetually closed, requiring us to do some pathfinding to the hall. To top it all off, every morning during our break (around 10:30AM) the cleaning folks decides to close the bathrooms for cleaning, which made breaks extra long and disruptive.
Finally, the rooms themselves were subpar. Towels were stained. Little critters could be found in the bathtubs and bedsides. The rooms are connected as pairs, which is likely good for large families, but in our case it means we could hear every argument, bouts of babies crying, and other activities out neighbor pursued in addition to the loud outdoor parties other residents hosted.
All in all, this venue was functional as a conference venue, but far from optimal. It is clear that the conference event and its attendees were not considered valued clientele.

Everything about the resort was ok. But only ok. The beach was littered. Our room had little to no sound proofing so didn't get much sleep. The room was also dirty. Floors needed cleaning the fridge was stained and smelled bad. The staff were polite, approachable and helpful.

Very Disappointed with the rooms. Very filthy. There is black mold, mattress are disgusting with bugs, dirty disgusting walls dirty floors. Ugh! There are switching my room. Hopefully the next room is better. The staff seemed unaffected about there being bugs in bed and blood on mattress.

Meh. I wasn't that impressed with the resort. The room was nice and the amenities were alright but there's definitely a lot to be desired.
My room had pretty nasty floors when I arrived (housekeeping fixed it the next day) and quite a bit of scratched paint on the bathroom door. Attention to detail could be better!

Little to no security here. Police were on site twice within 2 days of each other for robbery. Get a room with only a keycard door.

Otherwise, it was nice and beautiful. Great tropical atmosphere and plenty of pools and hot tubs to enjoy. Barefoot is a little fufu as a restaurant but gives good portions that are well presented on the plate and is only a short walk on site.

It s my favorite place here in pacific beach. Beautiful property with very friendly staff. The hotel is just remodeled not too long ago, rooms are nice and clean. Step out your room and here is the beautiful mission bay, what else you can ask for? Restaurant at property is very nice too, a perfect vocation spot with affordable price.

Very beautiful resort! We did not want to venture out to the city, there was no need. Pool and Bay were awesome. Taxes and fees were quite higher than I thought but whose fault is that? coming back again next year for another staycation.

Beautiful. Started my day off with a sun bath outside the back door on a Adirondack in the sand while I watched the seagulls and sail boats go by. Enjoyed the golf cart travel. Concierge at your beck and call.

I booked it for 4 nights but only ended up staying 3. you have other great options in the area. property itself is well kept. they really nickle and dime you for everything at this place. i was surprised to find out they charged 20 dollars a night for a really outdated microwave that they failed to disclose at the time of request. Overall not happy with the place.

Look this place is beautiful. But San Diego is beautiful. My experience with this place starts and ends with the management. If you ever have a billing or claim issue that s unclear what this place did was gross and ghetto. In the mix up of who s CC to charge they decide for you. No call to confirm no paperwork saying in the event. All they need is your CC. When you call to dispute I got two responses first one was nice we will take care it 2nd time I called because it didn t get solved they told me you gave us the card that s you saying it s ok to charge everything on it. I ve never been more disrespected or disappointed the individual I spoke with wasn t interested in anything but letting me know your not getting your money back this isn t our fault. Theres plenty of other places these guys are cheap and lazy.

Was ok
