Beautiful location with sprawling grounds. Wonderf...
Beautiful location with sprawling grounds. Wonderful staff. Well appointed guest rooms.
Beautiful location with sprawling grounds. Wonderful staff. Well appointed guest rooms.
Never go to this hotel. Our rooms were broken in within one hour of checking in, when we went swimming just ten metres away from the room!!! We lost all the documents! We were scared and frustrated!
Very expensive hotel you would think since the room is expensive they wouldn't charge so much for other things
We have been coming to Paradise Point for 29 years. We did receive the room style we requested (we had 3 rooms) BUT they put two of us between a HUGE party of over 30-50 people that told us they had 9 rooms and we were in-between them. Unfortunately they played music all hours from 8am to 11:30pm. We called the hotel staff in the middle of the night with our one half year old grandson crying due to the noise. The staff is excellent, very kind, very nice and very apologetic.
On our last night our youngest daughter saw from the beach a flashlight by her car she ran up there got her dad and WOW a hit and run both my daughters cars!! Security was fabulous, no hotel manager to be found. Security told us that the hit and run car was parked in the hotel parking lot and that the SD police had been called. They had problems with this group of guests earlier in the day threatening them! Really and they were not evicted?? We had multiple witnesses that said the car was driving backward and hit first my youngests car then my older daughters cars both brand new cars 2020. No one cared but the SD police and the security of Paradise Point. Security even told us that they had a gun, that 8 patrol cars had been called. The next day as were leaving my husband he talked to the head security since the general manager wasn't available and was told that the group that almost hit and ran two guests and hit two cars driving drunk was not evicted was allowed to stay overnight?? What with a gun and multiple police on the scene for the gun and the threatening?? We felt threatened, we felt uncared for by hotel management unbelievable poor relations with general manager. After what they charge for 3 rooms on the Bay with zero discounts or apologies our trip was close to $10k along with thousands of damage to both cars that supposedly the hotel is not responsible for lol we will see about that. I do want to make a point that the security and hotel staff were excellent our bad review is for the management of our favorite hotel and family vacation spot.
Great location good food at caves pizza and awesome environment.
With the newly remodeled rooms that has really made the resort a place to visit. I'm a local and we come here a few times a year for a little staycation.
This place needs some serious TLC! The grounds were a mess and the tub was all dinged up. Paid extra for a garden view I was a joke, two filthy chairs on a small patio overlooking a messy garden that required grooming. Not with the price!
Had a blast here, staying for the weekend. Had a beachfront room, which was nicely sized and very comfortable. Great A/C, bed was nice and comfortable, shower and bathroom is all tile and quite nice. We had a neighbor we shared a wall with, and we never had anything disturbances or issues. It's pricey to stay here, but definitely worth it as a nice getaway from time to time.
Great location. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is they over charged the the smallest things, like the water bottles in the rooms on the desk where $4 a bottle. Also bring your own shampoo and body wash. The stuff they have is awful.
Overall, it was a great stay and I would come back knowing these things.
Very nice hotel. The only disadvantage is the location and prices of parking.
Love it beautiful place Beautiful People beautiful time love it
Sales Staff, Peyton and Thea are so welcoming and knowledgeable of the resort.
The rooms were very nice and the grounds were very nice. There wasn't as many activities as I thought to do. The pools were kind of disappointing
Totally recommend the beach bungalow. Loved the pools too.
Very happy with our stay at Paradise Point! The rooms were cute and cozy and the beds were comfortable. The grounds are beautiful it really feels like a little piece of Hawaii!! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway
My wife & I love this resort. The staff was very attentive. This was our second stay there. We are looking forward to going back for some Caveman's pizza. Our kids loved the resort & the beach. We will definitely go back.
Wish there was more family activities at the resort
Paradise Point is a beautiful resort with nice walking paths and calm atmosphere.
Friendly staff and beautiful location but for $200+ a night the accommodations were average at best. Rooms had insect problems with gnats and ants. The shower gel provided smelled like rotten eggs and the towels were extremely poor quality and shed white balls all over when used.
Great spa experience. Day use access to hot tub, pools, and fitness room are a plus. Rooms with beach front access was outstanding. Great family environment. Guestroom had problems with electricity. This made for an interesting (and dark) bathroom experience.
No offense, but anybody who says this place is a 4-star resort hasn't stayed in a 4-star resort before. I mean, the bungalows are vintage-charming, sorta, but otherwise, to be honest, this place is a borderline dump. The staff is really nice, don't get me wrong, but the rooms and beds.....meh..Hilton Garden Inn is a much better bet.
Cheating their own customers, $38. EACH night just to park, that is nothing less than cheating their own customers. $32 EACH night to use the pool etc, amazing how this hotel cheats its customers beyond belief
The location of the resort was convenient, our room was right next the bay, and service was great.
Great bungalow accomodations facing the beach, great pools and amenities
Room RIGHT ON the beach. I loved it here, really great place to stay. The kitchen lacked quite a bit, or it would have gotten 5 stars.
Beautiful Resort. The Staff were just beyond friendly and made the experience a memorable one. Resort is just a short drive to many of San Diego's tourist attractions. I would recommend to anyone that plans to vacation in San Diego!
Super private and a great place to get away in the middle of San Diego
Amazing atmosphere, private and secluded making you feel like you were on a tropical island. Friendly staff, awesome food, older but clean rooms. 10 minutes from downtown, Mission Beach, Pacific Beach and so much more. Will be back!!
It was ok. I like the staff but the place is a little too pricey
Positive: excellent customer service. I really loved how friendly the staff were and ready to help you.
Negative: old and dirty rooms. I mean dirty! Dirty! Dirty! I was so discussed by the mold and dirt on the room that if I knew they'll refund my money I would drive back home 5 hr and not stay there. I had my 1 yr and 5 yrs old with me and I was ready to cry when they had to use bathroom or shower. The drains are so old and clogged that I had to turn the water off million times when taking a shower. Will never come back unless remodeled and cleaned!!!
This resort was absolutely wonderful. The facilities were awesome... everything you could want. The scenery was beautiful - just look at these pictures. The staff was welcoming and helpful. I can't wait to return.
My family and I loved our time here. We enjoyed the bon fire on the shore. They have many pools and recreational options.
Really nice property with a nice lay-out and nice rooms. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Lots of extra fees for parking and resort fees, but it was worth it overall.
Loved my birthday stay at Paradise. The service was excellent!!! The rooms and grounds were very clean. I will book another trip to Paradise and stay longer
Very beautiful property right on the water with a marina for renting boats and jet skis. The resort is also pet friendly which was amazing. This property is in the bay so the beach is waveless but there are amazing beaches with good waves close by. ***Please remember to bring a plug in air freshener with you for your room... The rooms smell a little musty so we used an air freshener and it helped. If you bring firewood or go to the Walmart close by, you can avoid $15 a bundle if you want to use the beach fire pits. Great place across the street from Sea World. Would stay here again.
I went here to visit family for the day. The grounds were very nice and there was lots of amenities.
It was so beautiful, recommend to go, even just for visit
Everything a couple or (family) could want from romance to family fun. Stay on this Island and enjoy the comfort, privacy of the beautiful White-sand beach. Great for reunions, club events, wonderful restaurants to choose from for all meals and snacks. Nature is surrounding you from ducks to ocean mammals.
We originally booked at another hotel and arrived to find that hotel and employees did not meet the expectations we expected after booking online. After getting our money back, we went out to find another hotel. I had heard about the Paradise Point from others and really wanted to try it out. From the moment we stepped into the lobby to inquire about a room until we checked out, we loved it. I can't wait to come back and stay again.
My favorite place for a Staycation. I've been here several times, and have stayed in many of their various bungalows. They are all comfortable and well appointed. The beds are better than some, and the towels are soft. Key points in my opinion. They try to offer privacy, some rooms have more than others so look at the map carefully if that is a priority. Pets are welcome. I have never taken my dog to a hotel before so I was very concerned as she has issues with other dogs sometimes, but the privacy and comfort here greatly reduced my stress over this and we have had a wonderful time.
The resort has quite a lot of amenities for sitting on the beach and is located very near to many attractions, however it is priced a bit high for what the rooms offer.
Amazing bay views and Night Life. Multiple pools, and bungalows with a coveside beach. Fire pits and 5 star service!
I would give this place a zero star if possible. They made me wait an hour for my room because it was being cleaned, and then after calling and calling while waiting (everyone over the phone very rude and didn't give a sh........ , then come to find out they gave it to the people that were in line checking in. It doesn't end there, I left some items and when called (again very non-caring) and said house keeping didn't turn it in. I told them they may want to revisit their house keeping for integrity, and again, she just hung up on me.
Overall Great. Shoutout to Mark! He gave us great service, I recommend Barefoot Bar and Grill.
Great place for a family vacation with so much to do!
I had my school's homecoming there. It was pretty cool the room was large.
Nice place but the room had ants everywhere. Hard to find tour way around this place especially at night. Wish they had offered to help instead of driving around for 20 minutes in the dark.
Bad Points: Super expensive with LOTS of FEES. They charge $35 a night to park in the space that is assigned to your room. The space just sits there if you don't use it, so there's really no reason for them to charge you so much. (FYI, it's cheaper to park all day in Downtown San Diego, or even all day at Sea World!) Don't pay extra for a "garden view." Our "garden" was a pile of dead leaves, our neighbor's front porch (which was actually connected to our patio, only about 3 ft. away), and the driveway. You also need to pay an additional $25 to use any of the amenities, including things like the pool or fitness room. Additionally, the towels are like cardboard and there's rust on some of the bathroom fixtures and stains on the ceiling from rain.
Good Points: The lobby is lovely and the rooms have an island theme and are generally decent. Also, it's close to a big bay park and Sea World.
Overall: If you can get a rate of maybe $100 to $150 a night, then take it. Anything more than that and you wasting money. It's not a "bad" place; it's just not worth the amount they charge, with or without the obnoxious fees at every turn. We travel a lot, so I guess we've developed a good eye for value vs. price gauging. This place is definitely all about getting as much money out of you that it can.
One of the best destinations in San Diego. But they need to work on their prices. Expensive
We had excellent service in the retardant. The food and our waitress was better than we thought we were going to have because they were so busy. Full of people and families
Envision the Motel 6 on the bay. Will not be back.
This place is a poor excuse for a resort at the prices they charge and in my estimation they employ deceptive advertising. It was very disappointing because I expected more of a '4 star' resort which this place is not by any stretch. Based on what the rooms looked like on the internet, my husband took me there for my birthday weekend. The walls are bare in the bedroom and makes the place look like a motel 6. There were no robes or slippers, which I found very distressing given the floor was very cold. Like other reviewers noted, the rooms and furniture are dated. The bathroom is small with old fixtures. We stayed in one of the bay view suites with a kitchenette. One of the handles came off the kitchen faucet and my husband had to reattach it. The kitchenette has zero kitchen utensils, and when we asked for a couple of spoons and a plate, we were informed that 'we don't provide those in the rooms'. I have never being in a hotel suite with a kitchenette that does not provide some utensils. For the amount of money they're asking for these suites, it's just terrible that a guest can not expect comfort and convenience. As other reviewers also noted; the cleanliness of the place leaves more to be desired. Why the management has not addressed this issue is a mystery to me, and strikes me as insensitive and inconsiderate of their guests. The coffee table in our suite had a film of dirt on it. We asked to have it cleaned. No one showed up. The couch in the living room looked like it has seen better days and looked so filthy I could not bring myself to sit on it. The only bright spots in this place were the restaurant (Tidal) and spa which we really enjoyed.
The resort looks like stuck in the 50s/60s. The place and the the idea is actually awesome. The price is equal wit 5* resorts in south Florida.
I was dropping my friend off there for her conference, the place looks amazing, we had lunch at the bar &grill it was very busy with it being a Sunday but they food was good and they had music as well. I walked around the grounds and it was breath taking with the different trees and ponds they have. I wish I could have stayed longer.
5 for service, 4 for room issues, 3 for conference site, 2 for amenities, 1 for vegan options. In spite of fairly common room issues (engineering fixed bathtub plug, refrigerator settings, thermostat issues) I was very happy with my stay. The service at every level was outstanding! They have an app where you can access all resort services and can post a question or request that are answered immediately! I got a microwave delivered to my room, an extra blanket and decaf coffee. Bed and small pillows weren't very comfy. No desk, which is a must at a conference when you have homework or need to prepare for a presentation.
Golf cart shuttles were readily available. Check-in staff was patient and easy to work with when I had my own credit card issues. Food & beverage service at the poolside Cantina was over the top friendly and helped me book my rideshare back to the airport while they let me charge my phone. Conference center staff made you feel like a VIP and the food was more like gourmet than conference. Lots of vegan options. But of the 4 restaurants, only one vegan dish existed, and it was a side dish. Service at restaurants was not nearly as good as the rest of the resort, and I tried all 3. And God forbid you eat your pizza from Caveman outside on the patio! Stupid rule that patio is only for Barefoot Bar patrons even though Caveman pizza has back doors that empty onto the same patio and there were plenty of tables available outside while pizza place was packed and stuffy! The "Dockside" conference room smelled strongly of cat urine all week even though it was reported multiple times. And the front bathroom smelled like sewer all week.
This hotel is nothing special in terms of quality. Not a four star resort. I'd score as a 3 star (average), overpriced for service and quality.
Beautiful location. Very quiet and serene. My room was comfortable and extremely clean. The resort staff were all very friendly.
Just had an amazing check in experience with Sophia and looking forward to my stay in this beautiful place. Very nice place with professional and friendly staff. Make sure to keep this girl!
Though I expected the resort fee which makes me cringe but the parking fee of 45 per night was a little too much even for me. Our unit didnt have much of a view and otherwise was just okay. Expected more for the price.
Beautifull place to go to scape from the city! Perfect for taking pictures, the food is amazing, and the staff are really helpful and friendly.
This is a stunning resort with many amenities but was extra special since we could travel with ours dogs, take them on restaurant patios & a pontoon. The property is huge and very well kept. I was very impressed with the spa as well
My 3rd stay here. Still so beautiful! Great food, fun and courteous staff. Lots of family activities on site and 5 mins from Seaworld, 15 mins from the Zoo.... can't beat the location.
Unless you have children that like to swim in a pool, it's a terrible resort to be at. There's no entertainment, no night life. "Tidal," one of the restaurants is only open for dinner until 9:00 and the Barefoot Beach bar turned us away at 9:45. There's not even a real beach, even though they promote one. Once you step out of your overpriced room, the cost of things are astronomical...... better off staying downtown.. I'm definitely not one to ever complain but I was very disappointed. They should not call themselves a "resort". Oh and by the way, there is a $36 resort fee per night and a $38 parking fee per night.
This is the best resort I have ever heen to. There is so much to do. Multiple pools, a great spa, great rates on boats and water toys, amazing food, and 5 star service from every staff person on the island. The sand surrounds the whole island and is so soft. I recommend everyone on earth to check this amazing place out!!!! Thanks for making our trip so amazing.
We have been going to the Paradise Point for years and love it there.
Being on the small island is great. The views are amazing.
Awesome location and great food options on site. For a zoo/sea world weekend it was perfect. Be sure to look for the adults only pool if you don't have kids with you.
