I love science, but as childless adults, we didn't feel part of the target demographic. The exhibits were well done but clearly tailored to children and their parents. I would have appreciated a little more depth in the information. However, this looks like a great place to take your kids and introduce them to the wonders of science.

Great science center for kids and teens.

I grew up going to the science center. Their interactive exibits and talks inspired a life long love of science.

It's well laid out with a nice mix of rotatit and fixed exibits. If you've got a kid who loves science you could easily spend a full day here. Even if they don't its a lot of fun and it's arches are iconic for Seattle.

Saw the Terracotta Warriors exhibit and thought it was well worth the extra $13 we paid over the admission price. The exhibit describes the excavation of thousands of these detailed, Chinese figures and the process of figuring out how and why they were made. Numerous displays and lots of interesting artifacts. Highlight: A room with numerous warrior replicas set up so you can feel what it was like at the excavation site.
The museum has many interactive exhibits which are interesting, especially the healthy living exhibit which has a fun drive-thru restaurant window where you pretend to be a customer or a fast food order taker and inform people about calorie counts and nutritional info from printed scripts. Great place for families.
Butterfly exhibit--Prepare to wait in line for about 15 minutes to get in. It's a separate room with all types of butterflies flying free in a tropical jungle-like area. Hot and humid but worth a visit just to take photos.
Planetarium show about Chinese astronomy: Very educational and interesting for everyone. Rin was our facilitator and made the show a lot of fun. Great for kids and adults. You have to plan ahead and get free tickets at the info booth.
The cafe--Seems like they put the cafe in a corner of a building as an after thought. It was plain and could use a remodel. I thought the food was good--lots of prepackaged items like sandwiches, fruit, carrots, hummus, hot dogs, chips and frozen yogurt. Prices were reasonable. There are a few tables outside where you get a nice view of the water garden area (picture a World Fair exhibition with high arches and a reflecting pond).
Personal favorite: The Gemini capsule with the audio recording of a launch. Fun place for two people to sit and pretend to be on a space mission. These interactive exhibits bring out the kid in you and make good memories.
Nice gift shop with the usual museum-related science items.
Thanks for reading this letter.

The museum itself is disappointing for adults, all interactive exhibits for children, I would suggest OMSI in Portland Oregon is a much better science museum. That being said the stranger things laser light show is badass, that saved this from being a redo start review.

A fun, interesting experience for the adults and children in our party. Went to the preschool show in the planetarium which kept our 2 year old and 5 year old engaged. The show is only 20 minutes and the staff make it a good experience for the children. Went to the butterfly room since the 5 year old learned about butterfly life cycles in Pre-K. It was a colorful, interesting experience. The dinosaur exhibit is looking a bit dated and is in need of dusting, but both kids still enjoyed the animatronic experience. The two year old excitedly kept yelling "dinosaur." Highly recommended. Another option on the Seattle Center, unbeknownst to is until we got there, is the Children's Mission in the Armory.

The Boeing movie theater was fantastic in sound quality and viewing experience. Concessions staff and ushers were fabulous. Signage and directions to the building once passed the ticket purchase booths could use improvement.

Updated 12/22/19:

Thank you for taking the time to see this review and remove the preview for Tenet from this IMAX theater. I believe families and viewers will be much more comfortable coming to this theater to see Star Wars knowing that the previews match the audience who will be seeing them. Happy Holidays!

From 12/20/19:

The IMAX is usually a great place to see big movie releases like Star Wars, however tonight s pre-movie situation was NOT great. In fact it has me questioning if it s a good place to take kids after hours or for those folks who are used to waiting casually in line for movie premieres. The entire hour before they allowed folks into the theater they had a giant marching band playing Star Wars music, this is great for some fans but an inappropriate spot to be doing it. We had to stand in line and listen to the percussion and brass ensemble within a small space, this would not have been friendly at all for folks with anxiety or sensory trigger conditions because you are making the space inaccessible to them with the amount of noise generated, I couldn t even have a conversation with folks I went to see the movie with either.

Then the first preview shown was an extremely violent scene where people in an opera theatre were being shot and taken hostage by people with assault rifles, the preview went on for a good 5 minutes too, honestly it was rather shocking and inappropriate, if kids had seen this it would have been really scary for them. I think I ll skip the IMAX next time I decide to see a movie premiere, or maybe I m just getting intolerant of crazy behavior?

Awsome

The PSC is AMAZING! The exhibits are timeless and are a great trip for the family. They also have some really fun events in the evening like distillery tasting, movies and more! I highly recommend to anyone visiting.

A great family friendly place for kids and adults alike to learn new things through interactive activities. The place was clean and well maintained, and employees were helpful. Activities include VR, a sea creature petting station, and many more, all included in the ticket. Definitely a place to visit.

Awesome place to catch an IMAX flick, not only is the quality great but your ticket helps to fund science education across all of Washington state. Watch the next blockbuster in high quality and support a good cause while you do it!

Spent about 45 minutes there and quickly realized that this place was build for young children. That being said, the butterfly garden was really cool, and I enjoyed the dinosaurs exhibit. The Pacific Science Center needs to be on your list if you are visiting Seattle. It's located at the Seattle Center. (the location of the 1960's World's Fair). They have lots of things to see and many of them are interactive. Kids love this place!!!

Went with a large group of family and friends. A lot of hands-on activities and displays. Everyone had a great time and learned a lot of neat things in the process. Definitely recommend.

Great place for kids to interact with all sorts of things to get a better understanding of science. For the adult it s just as great, especially if the special exhibits are of interest.

My 6 year old daughter and I spend a lot of time here. The butterfly garden is always a winner as is the tidepool touch zone. On a weekday, it's not too crowded and sometimes we're the only attendees at the Planetarium show. Also check out the Tinker lab with lots of hands on activities.

Great place with kids! We have a 7 and 2 year old girl and both loved every second! The 7 year old said it was her favorite thing about our two week trip. So many different exhibits and they're all very interactive.

I visited it last August. We bought the CityPASS and among the visits was the pass to visit this attractive museum of science ... located in a park a space at the foot of the famous Space Needle.
It is an incredible opportunity for practical learning, both for children and adults. Highly recommended for family visits.

A variety of exhibits and hands-on demonstrations of scientific and engineering concepts. We are a bit spoiled by the wonderful Virginia Science Museum at home, but still enjoyed our visit. They trade membership with other science museums, so bring your card if it is relevant.

This is a HUGE Science Center, it is at least double the size of others we have been to. Plan on a full day to take it all in. We had only about 3 hours, didn't get to half the stuff there. Good times!

Wonderful place for adults as well as children. The adults should think ahead and instruct the children on some of the displays. They just rush in and start turning knobs. I helped a couple of random children to understand a few of the displays. Went with my granddaughter and we had a great time.

I love the Pacific Science Center! They have all the oldies/goodies from my childhood, but their new exhibits are really cool and engaging, my son especially likes the maker space. My kids look forward to going every time we are in Seattle

The quality of the exhibit quality are not up to the standard of a museum or any expo, and the condition of the facilities are low in need of lots of attention. Way overpriced for the experience. There are better museum and science exhibit elsewhere for the same or less money. Not worth it.

Always a great place to explore or take kids. The park was truly unique and my little ones love playing there. Space Needle currently has alternative hours for the construction. Laser show is a must, later shows are better for adults.

My husband and I just visited for the first time and we both had a lot of fun. Everything is so educational and interactive. The staff was helpful. They have a really cool corn snake named Tillamook. My favorite parts were the naked mole rats and the butterfly enclosure.

Childhood memories up the boot :) new exhibits are always fascinating, permanent ones are well-maintained and never get boring.
Can get quite crowded on weekends, but, eh, what do you expect.

It was very informative and also a big decent size. They have an amazing IMAX theater and different activities going on throughout the day. HOWEVER... food is pricey and this is definitely a place more suitable for those with children. Don't be me and show up kidless. It's weird lol

We have been members of PSC for many years and loved taking our children here when they were younger. It was also a great place for out-of-town visitors. But in recent years I've noticed a decline in their facilities and especially in their customer service. Employees are not as friendly or helpful as they use to be and many don't act like they enjoy working with the public. I assume this influence is probably coming from the top leadership. There seems to be a MUCH greater emphasis on revenue than on people these days. Odd behavior for a non-profit organization!!
