great place for people of all ages to have fun while learning.
great place for people of all ages to have fun while learning.
Not very interesting for older kids. Food is expensive and very few options are available, and the whole center was built in the 1970's so it is a very old building with "science" that is no longer interesting or relevant to modern times.
A terrific science museum in Seattle center with a range of science and technology exhibits for kids and adults. Has a number of exhibits that can engage very small children, but also some features (like a very extensive VR exhibit area) that even older kids and adults will love. Easy to spend a whole day there, and is a member of the ASTC.
Imax and Omnimax and Butterflies and water cannons at Seattle Center. It's a favorite Sunday hang out.
Really great for kids! And adults who are kids at heart.
PSC been awesome since the 1960's when Elvis came to the opening and it's still awesome!!!
For my birthday my partner gave me a trip...we could either go to New York or Seattle...I really love New York, but Seattle has the King Tut exhibit! I really love any artifacts from this time, and the Met. has it's share of absolutely amazing artifacts that I have seen only a few years ago... so I chose to go to Seattle to see a piece that I have never seen...what could that be??? Well I have to say, I am really shocked at such a blatant display of deceitful advertising! Why on earth would the Pacific Science Center choose to put a picture of King Tut's sarcophagus in their ads and not actually have the piece on display? I am truly dissappointed that I chose to go to Seattle to see this show when I could have gone back to New York to see a better collection at the Met...I really feel ripped off by PSC and am really angry that they could be so deceitful and not have any law suits because of it. (I am assuming that the PSC is not being sued...haven't actually googled it) If the PSC does not have any law suits by now...I hope someone will! I would like the board of directors to take note...maybe they thought that if people really knew that the sarcophagus was not going to be there, then their numbers would be down...which is more than likely true...I wouldn't have gone. This experience has left a bad feel about Seattle now...I don't think I will be back! I am sure that Seattle's tourist numbers will go down after this, and quite frankly, they should...the city should not have let this go un-noticed and the board of directors for PSC should not have done this...shame on the lot of you!
The child is very fond of. If you have a child and have a good schedule, it seems worth a visit. Very few dinosaurs. In other words, if you go because of dinosaurs.
Great place for the kids but don't, don't, plan on eating at the Cafe inside. Bring a picnic or head somewhere else nearby before or after.
Amazing IMAX experience. The best 3D experience I had so far.
Seattle has really let this place go. Really simple, nothing that will really blow you away and remember.
Classic science center. Butterfly room and laser dome are choice.
Fun place! Lots of science stuff that's fun to play with, an indoor butterfly garden (my favorite) and bugs and reptiles to look at (also my favorite). Great IMAX screen, too.
Have been visiting this place since I was 4 or 5. Great memories every time and best place to watch ALITA in iMaX.
I have not been here since I was in elementary school, but it was a fun place to visit again as an adult with a small child. My child love the toddler area and they enjoyed the planetarium show.
Pretty cool, but I think it's time to update the features. Pretty much the same as years ago. IMAX is totally cool tho.
My kids and I love this place! My favorite is the Butterfly House.
Had a really fun time here. There are so many interesting interactive exhibits
This is go to the museum for hands-on children's science. All the exhibits were clean. Signage in good shape. Multiple shows to choose from. Though it's another $5. Staff said we could get a better price on admissions for the six of us if we purchased the Thanksgiving membership special. Saved us $48 we were grateful for that. Need more staff on floor to handle misuse of displays. Go to Butterfly habitat wear something bright reds, yellows, oranges. We attended the "Beatles" laser show.
Huge hands on Science Center! Great Outdoor water park type of play area that the kids can shoot at Targets with the water guns. Balancing bicycle that you can ride on outside gives an amazing photo opportunity and a little excitement. So much to do here as well as taking a break at the outdoor picnic tables if you bring your own meal. Hands-On tide pool to see ocean life. Clean large restrooms and plenty of water fountains throughout the center. Lots of places to sit and watch your little ones have fun. We have been here four times now over the last 10 years and we always have an amazing time. :-)
Great place for families with small children. But adults will love the planetarium laser shows and the butterfly enclosure.
The actual science center is great fun for all ages! There is a little creative kids play area for the younger ones. The science presentations that they occasionally do are lots of fun. I think the butterfly house is super super neat. The IMAX theater is also really amazing!
We loved the butterflies house and virtual reality experiences. There are so much to do and many exhibits/themes are designed for kids. Plan ahead and come up with a must see and to do list bc it will take at least half a day if your kid want to participate in some of the activities.
I watched the Crimes of Grindelwald thriller in the IMAX, loved the screen! Definitely gonna go again soon :)
I've been going here since childhood. The center is a entertaining, interactive, learning environment. Children can learn about a variety of subjects ranging from physics, their body, pollution, insects and much more. Kids find it extremely entertaining. I would suggest you take advantage of the hand sanitizing stations though, kids are not known for being the most clean-sly.
Maybe it was just the time we visited but I was not impressed. It just seemed to be missing something when compared to science center I've visited.
Awesome time with the kids. Exhibits don't change very often, so once every few years should be good.
You will need more than three hours. Great for parents and kids older than 5
Been a staple of Seattle Center for generations, and still remains a great value for families. Their membership pricing is reasonable, and they just repaired their main courtyard.
Great experience. Lots to do. I highly recommend the butterflies and virtual reality. Plan ahead to get tickets for the planetarium. Buy a pass - see it all seattle or city pass to save.
Excellent price point. We loved that we could bring in our own food and drink. Very stroller and young family friendly. High staff ratio meant that staff were actively engaging with the children. This offered a very safe and welcoming autmosphere. Staff were knowledgeable, engaging and very welcoming. This is easily am entire day. Stay, play and soak up all the learning. It's an incredible experience. Buy the season's pass! It's totally worth it.
Its become more like an amusement park, you got to get tickets in advance for most exhibits (VR Show, Planetorium, IMAX 3D) and if you aren't there early in the morning, you would get slots that are way in the evening. The quality of exhibits is great for kids, nothing much for adults. The staff isn't friendly as before, most of them seem tired and uninterested.
A good place to take kids of all ages, providing many experiences for all ages.
The terrain cotta warriors were honestly the most amazing thing I've ever seen and I've seen ghosts before! However, customer service buying our tickets was ittitating, we were dimissed with the wrong pkg. Bathrooms filthy tons o $, where does it go?
Such a wonderful place. Lots todo and see. Fun all the way. Love the laser light show.
A family fun destination! Kids will love the hands on busywork and curiosity invoking things to see here! Plan a few hours of hanging out here when in Seattle! Bling Blinky of TEXAS Shout Out: I love Science - that's what it's all about!
They really need some more material and exhibits that have more science behind them. Very basic science Ed and not very exciting for a Science Center! Please not worth the $ spent. It's pretty much the shame thing every time you go there. The new exhibits are small and lame. Please just hire some real scientists to help you further making PSC something great!
Great museum! This museum is located right next to the Space Needle in Seattle! There are lots of cool exhibits like the dinosaurs! There is a butterfly garden here included with your ticket that is cool as you can see lots of butterflies! The planetarium show was cool and is included with you ticket but you do need to get a FREE ticket in advance because the show has limited seating! The IMAX shows are available for an extra charge! All of the exhibits were cool! This is definitely worth a visit when you are in Seattle!
Not really a science museum so much as a loud, giant daycare. Could do much better on the science side, and have some exhibits for older kids or adults. Also dirty. I was most excited about the planetarium, but two kids kept interrupting throughout the entire show. It was so disruptive that we got up and left halfway through. I ve never left a show before. Not worth a trip unless you have young kids or are going just for the imax.
My kids had a blast and loved every minute we had an awesome day my kids are 4, 6, 8, an 9 yo and they all got to have fun
Laser shows, food trucks, movies on a big screen, or just lounging around. Pacific science center has it all!
May not be so fun for the 13+ crowd, but great for kids.
Kids always enjoy a visit. We caught an amazing 3D Adventure on the IMAX. The "What is Reality" exhibit was a bit underwhelming with what appeared to be handwritten exhibits.
We always have a great time when we take our kids here. They also have the best IMAX screen in Western Washington.
Tons of stuff to do. Pricy for one trip a year but if you get at least two it is worth the pass.
Feels like standing in a 1950's vision of the future that has since decayed, because that's what it is. The plaza is great but as a whole it needs renovated.
The first thing you have to remember is it is a children's museum. With that in mind, the interactive exhibits are extremely enjoyable and educational
Very good place to spend full day with kids.. lots of activities to keep them busy and engage curious minds.
Exhibits are targeted more towards children. The facilities are definitely showing their age. The 3d IMAX was interesting.
Wonderful and we were able to get In free since we were a member of a different science center.
It was good muesum. My kids seemed to like it. My kids liked the butterfly exhibit and animals.
Great place. Multiple kid's activities. Theatre, legos, insects research center.
Neat content as expected from a Science Centre. We took a cruise from Vancouver to Seattle and went from Pier 91 directly there by cab about $9. The buildings are original from the the World Fair 1962 and it shows. The architecture is neat but it needs some sprucing up.
Overpriced too many additional cost been to better places
There is definitely no shortage of activities at the Pacific science center. My only comment is that the price is steep for a kids activity center. However sometimes groupons are offered to make it more affordable of you are bringing multiple children
This place was really fun, and it was awesome to find out they are part of the ASTC program. We will definitely go back, the next time we visit Seattle.
We had a fun time, enjoyed the Lego art exhibit and the butterflies. Seems like a great place to take kids, but not a whole lot for adults to do
We had a great time! Very fun for the whole family- ages 5-36
Everyone should be seeing movies at the Boeing IMAX theater here, it is hands down the best IMAX in Washington
It is a better place for little kids. Employees are very nice.
Remodeled since I was here a few years ago. Huge improvement, and a really fun place to bring the kids.
It's an awesome place with loads of stuff to do and the exhibits they get are cool
This review is only for the IMAX theater, we didn't go into the museum proper. We saw the jungle book, the lines were short and fast, the staff was friendly. Overall a great experience
