The planetarium has a cute session for toddlers and the touch-pools are great.
Needs some upgrades/updating but still a family favorite
The coolest collection of science activities that will appeal to people of all ages.
Great place for little and big kids alike with a friendly staff. Be warned germaphobes, lots of hands on things to do, but there's plenty of hand sanitizing stations everywhere.
Science, games, bad breath smells... everything a kid wants to learn about...
My husband and I brought our son here for a parent/son day, and I was suddenly a kid again. Its even more amazing than I remember it being as a kid (and that was really amazing). There were things I remember and brand news things.
But the best part was watching my 4 year old running around interacting and learning.
The Pacific Science Center certainly will keep all the kids busy! There were so many rooms and activities and programs that we did not even finish in one visit.
We got city passes and visited the Space Needle first thing in the morning at 11:30 am. We were in line for a long time there, so we got done after lunch time. We spent a few hours in the Science Center, but then we need to go out and eat so that we can be back to the night time Space Needle entry before it closed. We were so tired being out all day (and standing in line), so we went home after 7pm.
Even though the Space Needle and Pacific Science Center are right next to each other, I would recommend not to go to both places in one day if you have more time (split the visit into two days if your schedule allows). Otherwise, you may not be able to enjoy all of the activities and programs available at the Science Center.
I still love this as much as I did when I was a kid! And now I bring my son and he loves it and learns something new every time. It is beautiful, fun, and educational. Really a superb place to spend a day!
Kids love this place!! The dinosaur part of the museum needs a lot of updating but otherwise it is a great place. The butterfly exhibit is cool because there are so many beautiful butterflies that fly all around you.
My boys (6 and 3) love the Pacific Science Center! - We became members right off the bat because we knew we would be coming here so often. They loved the spaceship, dinosaurs, butterflies and water features. We didn't have time to explore the whole place so we can spread it out over a few visits.
The cafeteria food will do in a pinch, decent convenience foods, hot foods, healthy options too! - It was odd that they placed the "scream" stage right next to the cafeteria, we were glad when the screaming took a break during lunch time though. :) - See you soon PSC!
Geared towards children. Can be completed in 2 hours. The IMAX theater is very nice.
Some of the older stuff FEELS old, but this place is still great.
I have been here twice, once with children, and once without children. I think this is A REALLY good place to bring kids. They spent hours looking at and exploring things such that we didn't even see the whole museum. That being said, I think that it's a little dull for adults.
A lot of active things to do to keep you entertained! The museum in general is geared towards entertaining children, but adults with an open mind will definitely have fun here. The VR technology can be updated, some exhibits and activities weren't completely responsive, but overall an educational and enjoyable visit!
Great for parents with children. We enjoyed the butterfly house and the dinosaur wing.
Lots to do, great for kids and families, parkings not great. If they were better Parking Solutions, this would be 5 out of 5 stars.
Went to the Autism early open. What a wonderful opportunity. Lights are lowered, no loud sounds. Had a great time with the grandson!
Great for children! Not for adults... not worth $50 to watch children learn basic science principles. If you have kids, take them.. if you re an adult interested in science, save your money! :-)
Really amazing. Amazing stuffs going on all the time.
Awesome place to spend the day with your family. The Tinker tank was a lot of fun we got to create rockets and shoot them with 20 psi of air to see how high they could go and if you could direct them through a hoop which was real fun for us.
Always have a great time here, adults and kids. If you get a chance definitely go see a presentation in the planetarium, tickets are free you just have to reserve in advance. Sunday is a great day to visit on the weekend because street parking is free.
Lots of interactive, creative, and unique exhibitions that will change, interest, and reshape the scientific perspective you originally had. I would highly recommend a visit to this center! Must check it out!
The displays on airplanes are very good and informative. It has a gifts shop at the entrance. Staff is friendly and atmosphere is nice. There is also fast food area and was able to have lunch. It has private dining room for large groups.
I heard such great things about this place, but I and my kids were disappointed. We saw everything there was to see and do in just a few hours.
The one thing that was great was the show/demonstration. It was on explosions and the presenter was fantastic with the kids, taught things and kept their attention.
Fun stuff to do, but lack-luster.
Very expensive to enter and doesn't include main attraction (legos at the time) or the Imax. Every exhibit is self-service and underwhelming. Good concept for a science center, but I have been to many better ones.
So much fun with our girls. The laser shows are a new favorite
It was a great time, learning about all the cool things about science... I know everyone will have fun. There is always something to do... Bring your family they will love it.
Had so much fun. The space part and butterfly house was really cool.
Large area little content. Everything special costs extra.
Great exhibits, fun for all ages, excellent science shows, IMAX movies and more
In my opinion, there is a need to renovate the museum, very old themes. Many people. It really is not a stop I would recommend. I did not have the opportunity to know the IMAX.
Loved the butterfly section. So many beautiful butterflies.
Beautiful place, lots to do and see, the kids and adults were entertained, time went by really quick. Plan time for the shows as well it is worth while.
We had a great time with the laser shows, dinosaur exhibit, butterflies and a couple of Imax films. Great time had by all.
Lots of shows included in your ticket for the day (i.e Danger science, Amazing psychic powers, the planetarium) but arrive early to plan your day. The planetarium and imax require tickets.
Great place, wonderful for kids, parking is a total pain.
Great place for children. Wish we had more time to spend here! There's so much to do and explore.
It might be good for kids at the age of 3-5 but beyond that age it will be boring, you only have games for little kids there, nothing for adults
Amazing!! Fun for literally every age! We could have spent days here! Must do!!
Good for little kids. Lots of learning experiences. For us it was a waste of time.
A bit outdated and numerous broken activities but lots of fun. Best parts are the planetarium which was well run and small enough that participants can interact with the show host and the butterfly garden. It can be very busy with small kids so if you aren't towing one, arrive on a morning that's not during XMas break. Also, we weren't told about needing to get tickets for the free shows so when we finally found out at noon, only the 5oclock shows had openings so be sure to go to the info counter first thing for free activity tickets.
Technology hey think will help the Pacific islands suffering from Climate Change and Environmental degredation. I blame the ones and the ones only, whom must pay for their threatening Economic trade policies we washing White sands from paradise, one they never knew, and never will under God's world of faith in the good men and women delivering trust on the ground with Clean Energy directives and concern for the human element in mother nature's built ecosystem, one that fights back with food men and women in support of her wicked nature. Trust in her limits, or the Hurricane always swing to the north, where commerce excels across our Pacific divides, with no more concern for the inhabitants of some small and seemingly insignificant rock (my mother's atoll Homeland of Pukapuka), a peninsula, or Island, under one Sun the worlds total inhabitants still have to share. This is the level playing field that never evolved beyond commerce profit margins. It does have a chance to work in 2019, with US/Pacifc Initiatives supporting import/ export financing programs that implement clean energy persuassion and promotion for foreign governments with credit ratings which accept an increase in clean energy exports from U.S. and partnered producers who export specific foreign imports that share any U.S. consumers wish for more purchasing power and an incenticized reward program; weekly trips for two to paradise! An exploration in Climate change Justice, an education while on Vacation for what climate change really means to the rest of our shared world. GreenKiwiEnergy's, US/Pacific initiative, represents a future, where rewards and advantages alleviate the balance of power through Trade.
The Pacific Science Center has its issues. Sure, the traveling exhibits can be amazing, and it's a great space for festivals. But the permanent collection does not get updated often, and it's clearly meant for a younger audience.
We saw a Queen laser light show...fantastic. It's a fun place, even for adults.
They have recently renovated the exhibition hall, including new signage for the dinosaurs. Making it feel like an xhibit of an xhibit (insert meme here).
Great things to do. Awesome laser light show. I love the IMAX shows. Great little cafe. I like the interesting interactive stuff. I especially like that it's free to do that stuff.
I liked all the interaction for kids and adults a but felt it was lacking as some parts were under construction. Also you needed separate tickets (some included in cost some not) and it was not clear what you needed to get tickets for in advance as there are only a certain number given for seating. Get Planetarium, virtual reality ocean deep sea diving ahead of time or you will miss it. Laserdome and IMAX cost additional $. Cafe is edible but across the way has way more options for whole family.
It is a fantastic place for young and young at heart. I'm 61 and I still love all the science exhibits and the butterfly garden.
The Pacific Science Center is the best place to come with kids in Seattle! they have great exhibits (though some outdated), cool traveling exhibits, and IMAX. Perfect place to take the family!
Great place to spend hours with your kids. Regular fun science presentations, planetarium, iMax theaters, exhibitions, friendly staff.
Went to the butterfly house. Hot, but lots of butterflies for grandson.
Wonderful exhibits, Staff is knowledgeable and friendly, children love coming every time.
Great staff so funny and nice
I enjoyed everything in the exhibits fun family place
Wonderful museum with lots of theme attractions: DO!
I love our art,s and entertainment. How ever I think we need more. Disneyland stile empowering our inspirations to higher level,s.
If you are a science geek or a science geek parent that is living vicariously through your children's joy of learning...this is the place for YOU!!!
Great for families and exploring. Nice insect and butterfly collection.
Excellent movie theater. One of a handful of locations in the US with Laser 3D IMAX capability.
Wonderful science center, the kids had a blast! The shows were top notch
As a family, we love this place!!! And an amazing place to have a kid's birthday party!!!
Fine if you have kids, but if you have an IQ over 50, not very intriguing especially for the price.
Five stars because it promotes exploration and encourages it. If you have kids and are in Seattle, this place is a great location to spend the day. There are many rotating exhibits, many permanent ones, and two IMAX theaters. I enjoy promoting places that encourage people, especially kids, to be fascinated about the world and instructs how to get out an explore it. There are a few floors with some Dino exhibits, technology, animal, and astrological displays. There isn't enough. Plus, if you have kids, it's great to get them out to learn as well as tire them out. Oh, there's also a VR exhibit included with the price of the ticket. The butterfly room is really cool as well. Just be careful where you step. Stop by and check it out.
This is a full day activity with the kids. So much fun and so much learning!
Went here years ago, and loved it. I strongly recommend this to the ones who have little ones.
Nice place to take kids on a rainy day. Employees are very kind and informative. The butterfly exhibit was definetly the highlight for my family.
We've budgeted to be annual members since my son was born in 2013. The science center provides an enriching experience every visit at every age.
