No Heat, No Water and General Manager rude
We stayed 5-7 January 2018. No radiator heat, so told to use aircon. They said it would be fixed. They failed to call the plumber and put aircon on full blast. Following day no water at all so could not use toilet or shower. Fire alarm went off in the night. Duty manager did apologise.
Discovered wallet had gone missing for room. I called they then said they would check. Had to chase three times for answer.
Coffee and toast at breakfast awful and there were stains from water leak in ceiling and a botched repair.

I wrote to general manager about how bad it was . He did not reply. And that was typical of the service. Worse than bad,

One of the best hotels in Cork! Offers almost everything! Also great place to work (though, once you end up working in the kitchen, watch for the tall Polish chef - he's the personification of ignorance!).

I wont a free night away with classic hits 4fm. So we decided to visit after the Christmas. The rooms were huge the bathroom has a huge shower and bath spotlessly clean and the staff are so good. My good lady used all the facilities Jacuzzi etc will I partook in a pint in the lovely relaxing bar. My missus is totally relaxed after the night and I will definitely visit again. spot on.

I would highly recommend the Oriel House Hotel to anybody.

You should be ashamed of your selves. Why on earth would you take away disabled parking for the arrival of Leo Varadkar I'm disgusted. He is very well capable of walking this is an absolute outrage. And to think I was looking tmat this venue for my wedding. Well not now

No water at all! No hot water either!!!!! Not a good sign. Water tap worked for a moment and all that came out was dirt!!!!! Next morning still no hot water in entire hotel, filthy shower, dirt in cold water, stained carpet!!! Now today Friday no hot water at all, but lots of dirt in the water. Manager is doing nothing, stay away from this hotel!!!!

The service is abysmal. No matter who you talk to at the front desk, no one is helpful. The best service you will get at the hotel is from the coffee bar. This hotel does have air conditioning. That is the positive of this hotel. The beds are uncomfortable, the wiring is shoddy and left us without power in our room. Repeated telephone calls and loads of repeating ourselves we figured the fuse problem ourselves. If no other hotel in the area has rooms use the Oriel. When you check in ask for extra towels. Otherwise you will be repeating yourself to the unhelpful staff. Also the pictures online are deceptive, your room will not look anything like what is posted. Imagine an old Motel 8 room.

Excellent hotel. The staff are extremely friendly and always went out of their way to ensure we had a great stay. Some areas need a little TLC, but they are so minor compared to the rest of the hotel they are hardly worth mentioning.

Being a photographer, I am here quite regularly doing weddings and the GM Ronan and ALL his staff are most welcoming and friendly. As we live nearby so often pop in for evening meals, Sunday Lunch and have been bad for Family occasions. Its 5 star service every time.

Love this hotel. Go there often for dinner and drinks and it's always brilliant. Staff are good friendly and accommodating. The bar is well stocked. Would highly recommend as somewhere to eat or have a few drinks.

Lots of stains on carpets in the room, toilet would not flush properly, very low water pressure. Tissue box empty in bathroom. Pillows very flat and could do with replacing. Breakfast mediocre, staff walking around brealfast room aimlessly yawning. Great location and reasonably procdd.

Cleaners were lovely and pool was good. Staff at front desk a bit rude and not very helpful. Breakfast was booked out so we were told we had to have it in our room but, we had to pay extra for room service even though we had already paid for breakfast. Weren t allowed to book dinner In the restaurant. We paid extra for an executive room along with our friends and our room was tiny compared to theirs with broken lights. Not worth the price !!

We had a pleasant stay here last week . The hotel is lovely but there are a few things they need to improve on. Our family room was spacious but the bed was extremely uncomfortable. There was stains on the carpet and furniture in the room and the radiator was leaking in the bathroom . I know the hotel has been under renovation recently and maybe our room needs done yet but we paid a little extra for this hotel as we thought it would be more comfortable. Service in the restaurant seems to be very slow at breakfast and dinner, to me it looked as though they were understaffed als card machine wasn't working in the bar and i had to be brought to reception to pay for drinks .Staff were doing their best but there wasn't a good system in place. On a good note these are small things to get right and if they do ,it will be a great hotel . Rachel Donegal

Building is nice, clean, modern. Staff for the most part are good but the standard of service needs to be drastically improved, with increased staff numbers or the price of accommodation lowered.

The room was OK, it wasn't really four stars in my opinion. The shower was scaled up so bad it sprayed water all over the floor. The windows were filthy the photo doesn't really do it justice showing how filthy they were, gross. The room was clean and Premier inn OK, if that makes sense. It was just nothing special. The pool was so packed with non hotel members it was difficult to even get changed, they didn't have swimming hats to lend non Irish guests so we had to buy one which is really naughty. Then the one they gave us was filthy and had blood or something on it from a previous user. They didn't even sell me a new one! The pool was rammed with children on lessons and from the local area and hotel guests were clearly just a disturbance to this facility that was trying to make its money by being a municipal pool rather than a spa resort for paying guests. Spend a few minutes here and left as the pool wasn't that clean and Neither were the changing rooms. Disappointing all over. If you want a four star Spa hotel stay somewhere else. If you want a three star hotel with access to a busy public swimming pool and want to pay over the odds then this is perfect for you. The Talbot in Wexford we stayed at the night before from the same chain was much much better.
