Stayed at the Clayton Silver Springs solely for a function. The reception area looks quite modern but when you go up to the rooms, the hallways need serious revamping. Our room had dirt marks on numerous walls and the shower was so narrow my partner could barely shower. The noise from the road was substantial. The bed was very comfortable though.
We went to the bar to ask for a bucket for champagne or and wine ice cooler. The service was so slow and it seemed as if we were asking the impossible being told there was none, only for the same barman to actually take a look and find one at the other end of the bar counter. The receptionists were friendly and helpful.
The food at the function was dismal. Such bad quality and tasteless. No thought or appreciation for good food. Everything about this hotel is cheap, but the cost of staying there isn't. Our advice, pay a little more for a much better hotel.
We loved the location, the service, the staff and the food! The room was very nice and clean, and the hallway was quiet at night. It was close enough to the city if you want to walk, but taxi prices were reasonable as well. We would stay there again for sure.
This hotel is fabulous ! Had a great time here and Patrick the bar man was super fun and served us lots of alcohol very late which was great
Rooms were clean nice and comfortable. Staff was welcoming friendly and helpful. There is restaurant and bar on site with excellent food however the waiters were very sparse and we didn't see them much.
Nice lunch reasonably price lovely setting over looking the road . Excellent staff will be back ?
Up on a height with huge floor to ceiling windows in restaurant areas so light and bright unlike a lot of ch places. Great food and service which is efficient, friendly and happy. What more can you ask for?!
Very accommodating and very sincere staff, would really recommend here
Lovely spacious rooms, clean throughout, perfect location
My room had the comfyest mattress I've ever slept on in a hotel.
The food in the grill restaurant was ok. The soup and fish cakes wherein the cold side, and the raspberry and white chocolate roulade didn't actually have any raspberries in it, just jam put on top.
Rooms are far too warm, breakfast service is painfully slow, long hairs all over shower curtain from cleaning staff... Contacted via email about a charger plug I left behind after my stay and got no response. Some service...
Dropped in for a coffee. Decent coffee and a very nice biscuit.
Great service from serving staff while retaining the safe social distance.
Excellent modern rooms with high standards throughout. Highly recommended hotel, food, comfort and staff. Extremely high standard for a modest price.
I had a meal in lounge staff were great so helpful . Its a lovely place to relax
We are regulars in the Clayton Silver Springs and we are never disappointed The staff are all so friendly and efficient and look after us very well Grace is an amazing staff member and a credit to the Clayton Group she goes beyond to make our stay so enjoyable . The food is very tasty and suits our needs very well
Lovely spacious family room and small playground too. Perfect place for a rest after a day in Fota Wildlife Park
Poor service with the exception of one nice girl at the reception. Over priced for what it turned out to be ! Give me the Montenotte or Vienna Woods, any day for a good value hotel.
Certainly not the hotel it was previously
Not informed when booking that hotel is being renovated, booked a king suite for 2 nights for the view of cork harbour......instead our view was scaffolding and scaffolding nets!!!!
Room very dated, side trimmings on bed were torn from base of bed, bed clothing very run of the mill.
Surface of iron was badly burnt and I only realised this after I started to iron my white shirt which as a result was ruined and unable to wear due to scorching, informed reception and no help given.
No wine glasses in room so I went and purchased my own from a local shop.....next day when room cleaned wine glasses were taken and not returned!
Room service menu at night served only pizzas
Television in room had free view channels only...not what is executed in a King suite in any hotel.
No other in room entertainment or audio.
Suites are definitely not what a suite should be, but the price is charged as a suite
Double sinks back flowed into each other when turned on which resulted in a rancid smell of sewage - a matter which was highlighted and not addressed!!!
Free Wifi an absolute joke, would not work on a number of devices.
Breakfast is a fried buffet with a selection of cereals and bread.... Again poor quality, similar breakfast to a premier inn or travellodge!
Hotel noisy due to hen parties
I could go on with other issues but I won't
Public areas of hotel are clean
lunch menu and food nice.
Staff friendly in bar and restaurant
Will not stay again, far better hotels in cork with similar prices but with an actual 4* service.
Our stay was not a pleasant one, l took myself and 3 children for a weekend after there father had passed ayear. For two nights including breakfast we waited an hour for breakfast first day weres other familys were getting served before us and they came in after us 15mins were still waiting. This happen again the second morning and we had an early start to head home, again waiting an hour could b more. We had dinner even that was slow and when we want to order drinks was told bar closed even do it was not even 10.30 it was 10 past 10 staff were rude and l would not b recommending anyone to go there
Kind regards
Brenda Ryan
Not good no Guinness no murphys and when I asked for brandy no brandy glass will not be returning as standard has dropped so low it's disgracefully also freezing cold there
Best Hotel we have ever stayed in. I am disabled and the care and help has blown us away. Thank you Clayton
Awfuly overpriced Breakfast. I wish I took a photo of the pancakes. 7.25 and it was laughable how small they were. 25 in total and we are currently on route to the garage to get some food as we're still hungry. I commented on how I was surprised it was quite when we got there. Now I understand. Disgraceful
I was very unhappy with my stay.
First: It took about 20minutes to check in.
Second: There were men working outside the window so I could not leave the curtains open, making the room very dull.
Third: While getting dressed another couple walked right into our room!!!! They had handed out the key to our room to complete strangers. Instead of a call apologising for a situation that could have ended a lot worse, I received a call from reception asking How I got into the room, was I sure I checked in, what was my name, was I sure that was my name!!!
I then emailed both the info email and the managers email after my stay to tell them the key to our room had been given to someone else, because I thought it was dangerous to do such a thing. I received NO response from either of these parties, not even an apology!!! I will never stay there again due to the lack of responsibility and the rudeness of SOME of the staff!!! (I say some as I did find other staff members very pleasant)
Good food, nice atmoshpere and beautiful, clean rooms.
One minus would be the long wait to be served dinner, but it is understandable as it is quite busy.
Clean and good price for a hotel close to city centre.
Spent two nights in Silver Springs Hotel. The staff are very friendly, rooms are very well equipped. I would stay here again
Service was soooooooo slow! Had to wait 20 minutes for our orders to be taken. Had to wait another 20 minutes just for water. After dinner had to wait another 20 minutes for dessert. A colegue of mine wanted coffee as well but the waiter just left. Had to call her back. For dessert had to wait again for so long. Won't eat at the restaurant ever again!!!
Excellent hotel. Staff and facilities are first class. As was the breakfast I have just eaten.
Room was clean, good service, nice breakfast, 30 min walk to city center, big car park, A/C missing in the room only fan, no smart TV
Great venue for lunch, afternoon tea or just a coffee
Great staff, friendly and helpful- excellent food, lovely ballroom
Excellent stay at the hotel. Very friendly staff and great service.
Child friendly with a playground and toy room. Also a free kids club from 6:30 till 8:30 so parents can relax and chill out..
It was a really nice hotel I went for a buisness presentation and it was a really nice place
Very classy place with plenty of rooms, very quiet karma nice restaurant and bar. Reasonably priced, would definitely stay here again. The only reason for four stars is it's far away from anything you can walk to.
Very well designed site with a guest portal which is very handy.
Stayed here a few times and enjoy the comfortable rooms and good food
We stayed in the clayton hotel silver springs for two nights this week. We were based on the 4th floor. The first thing that hit us was a very strong bad odour. Im not sure what the odour was..but it wasnt pleasant. There was a large fan that was fairly noisy plugged in on the floor. The room itself was very basic. Two double beds and tv with small table and chairs. The door to the toilet was loud and creaky. With a one year old this proved troublesome at night. All in all i dont feel it was value for money. 275e for two nights, midweek in a location that isnt exactly central is, i believe, overpriced. All in all a mediocre stay at best. Had expected more from our stay
I was a guest at a wedding here, everything was really lovely. We didn't stay but my husband's nan did and her room was very luxurious. hotel is very accessible for wheelchair users too.
Lovely friendly staff. Couldn't be more helpful. Especially Jennifer in the restaurant and the lady with the dark hair on breakfast duty Sunday morning.
Very enjoyable stay at Silver Springs Hotel. Staff were excellent. Fantastic value. Only negative point was that the room cleaning policy wasn't explained in advance. Otherwise a very positive experience.
Attended a cancer survivor conference
Disabled parking poor as was signage for conference parking, which resulted in long walk to centre. Soup served in polystyrene bowls with metal spoons. Not recyclable and could have been served in cardboard cups which could have been recycled and sipped as opposed to washing spoons. Toilets in hotel lobby had sanitary bins overflowing. Conference centre were spotless. Conference was excellent.
Worn furniture, broken lights, broken or unfit parts of equipment, Wi-Fi doesn't work in room for most of time..it's just far away from expectations in this century for this price
Really enjoyed our stay on 12th March
Our room was comfortable and spotless. Had our dinner in the bar and food was lovely and service excellent and very reasonably priced. Finished off our stay with a hearty breakfast that set us up for the day. We will be back!
Very helpful and friendly staff. It's a nice hotel just outside the city centre of Cork . Very clean and spacious perfect for what you need in these strange and uncertain times.
Room was lovely and accommodating....ordered dinner for me and my partner using the dine in options went to collect and was told there was a mix up and that they would ring me when ready an hour later no one rang me and went down and was eventually given my food to find when I got back to my room it was cold was to tired at this stage to send it back...went for breakfast the next morning and high chairs were filthy from night before food still in the seats worrying considering current covid 19 pandemic and promise of cleaning stuff between use! Had to clean it myself self in the end....informed staff at checkout of these issues said manger would contact me....I'm still waiting...
Very nice place. Staff ate great. Could do with a few signs around the place to get around the hotel a bit better.
Very clean,Great Staff, nice setting, fine size bedroom and bed was only divine.
Would definitly be back.
Not really satisfied, after we've asked for a room in a higher floor, they had nothing nice for us. Doesn't look like fully booked mrs.
Facilities were good, as well as the food. Friendly staff too. No real issue at all. Overall a pleasure to visit.
I am not too fussy with hotels, we stayed in a Clayton hotel before, but this hotel was very disappointing.
All the walkways around the hotel are in bits- they are actually closed, because they are dangerous.
The bathroom wasn t clean, black hair was on the tiles and in the bath when we arrived which was surprising as I thought the rooms will be extra clean because of COVID-19
We booked the breakfast for 10am, set down and all the breakfast staff just suddenly disappeared. All the guests were looking around looking for a staff, some guests left. At 10.45am I walked in the other room and two of our breakfast staff were sitting at the bar with a coffee..talking
Eventually they took our orders at 10.50am!! and then they served our breakfast which was greasy and you could tell they just made it in a hurry.
The only good thing I can mention here is the leisure centre which is separate from the hotel. Very nice, clean, big gym and swimming pool.
Lot of maintenance work going on that woke us early. Went to bar and man decided to wall paper beside me lot of noise also
Stopped here for a poo great facilities
But the toilet paper could be softer
Was on the 6th floor so can't open windows more than 2 inches, inside the room it was 28 degrees with the sun beating down on the side of the building. No way to cool it down, no air conditioning. Its like a sauna but it's your room, with heat you can't get rid of so you ask reception and they tell you to use the fan provided. To be fair unless they are qualified in air conditioning installation not much they can do and are only telling guests what management have instructed them to say. This is a 4 star hotel?? Met another guest in the lift and he said he had 2 children with him and his wife, all were miserable but too late to change hotels at that stage after booking and dragging kids and suitcases up to the room.
Never again for me.
Beautiful hotel, delicious food. Great place for a Wedding
Tried one of the specials in 2010, meal and a glass of wine for whatever (reasonable) price. Asked for a diet coke instead of the wine as I was driving and was informed that it was wine only (despite explaining that I was the driver for the evening). I thought we had moved beyond this type of approach in Ireland.
Food was unremarkable at the time.
Have stayed here on a number of occasions. But Monday night i stayed after travelling from limerick with members of family that i recommended the Clayton to.Was very tired and returned to hotel earlier than family as i was driving next day and was very tired..Used the bathroom and went to turn lock to come out and found it wouldnt open. Was starting to panic as i knew my sister wasnt in room yet..Thankfully she returned to room and rang reception,,The girl in reception was very nice and tried her best to open door. Finally bringing in 2 more members of staff..40 mins later they eventually broke d lock..Had to move rooms at 12.30..didnt get much sleep as had to be up early..just been thankful it was not my 82 yr old Aunt in another room..Was stressed all day and very tired..Dont think i will be returning,as we came back for Dinner and the soup was cold..But didnt complain as had enough and wanted to go home..Such a pity as i loved staying here.
I attended the venue for a corporate event. The scones provided for 'breakfast' were the smallest I have ever seen. We thought the hotel was having a laugh. There were 6 of us on the event and we got a tiny scone each. Funny when I am writing this but pretty miserly of the hotel. Oh and really cold soup for 'lunch' also.
Very good hotel, very clean and tidy. Warm and welcoming environment. Rooms are brilliant
Our stay at the Clayton was faultless, the room was lovely, very light and airy. The staff were helpful and very and pleasant , sorting out all out taxi's. looking forward to coming back soon.
Lovely friendly staff nice large lobby area for chat or to have a coffee
had a great stay here at the hotel. Lunch in the gallery was excellent and breakfast was very good. Forgot to mention that breakfast staff were very polite and friendly..
A decent hotel with ample parking. Rooms are ok. In the evening only very few places, which are still assigned, even if you want to eat. So you have to go to town by bus or car. Staff badly trained or unmotivated.
I went for work during covid 19 and stayed 3 nights in the Clayton I was well looked after and the the place was very well managed I felt very safe everyone waring face masks restaurant was open but need to booking
The food was really nice and the service as well. Price in the average
