The hotel has 4 stars.... standards fall short. Housekeeping won't replace your water glass and don't vacuum the carpet daily or rinse the bath or shower. Mentioned on departure. For my next stay I was upgraded to a Tobin collection room and they included breakfast in my rate. Room ok although decor dull to be honest. No bath ... disappointing. Restaurant windows covered in hand prints and window cills table bases and carpet had food debris. Poached eggs served on v soggy toast and 'clean' cutlery placed on stained napkins. This is not 4 star standard. Won't return.

Not our first time here, won't be our last! Family friendly hotel, great food, good location, superb staff and quality pool. Booked the Fota package and the picnic was a lovely treat! In this current climate I feel people need to be more patient as holidays are not as straightforward as they used to be, every thing must be pre booked with time restrictions. Staff in this hotel are exceptional

Okay. Could be better. Dated rooms and facilities. My room in particular the temperature gauge in the shower didn't work so had to move rooms. The hotel isn't what it is made out to be.

The hotel is recently refurbished and looks stunning. The gym and pool are always clean, facilities are top-notch. We have had all three of our christenings here, they were all run so professionally we were delighted with them.

We booked late for mothers day. We were so lucky to get booked. 18 of us and we had great fun. Excellent food, free gift for all mothers in a group, inc free trip to pool after the day.

This hotel is amazing and needs more then 5 Stars!!!

My family got stuck in Cork due to the airline and we needed to fine a nice and cost effective hotel, a friend suggested the Oriel and it didnt disappoint.

We called to see if they had room which they did and gave us an amazing offer on a room, breakfast and glass of wine (always a winner)

on arrival you have plenty of parking available and the hotel entrance is warm with a nice welcome from the friendly staff who are more then happy to help with anything.

our room was very clean, modern, soft bed with plenty of pillows, bathroom is separate walk in shower and products, TV and tea and coffee facility which had biscuits.
Our kettle was not working at first but the staff quickly got this changed within 10 minutes.

Breakfast was a buffet with hot and cold food which gave a great selection for any taste. They have baby seats available which are safe and at the right height to sit at the table, the staff are very friendly and helpful.

Dinner/Lunch is a pub area along side the hotel and offer a range of food at a reasonable price. they cater for babies as well. if your a sports fan they do play live events.

There is a pool/gym area which has all the kit you need, one thing to mention is that you need to wear a swimming cap in the pool due to health and safety, they do have some spare but maybe get your own.

A 10 minute walk away is a big Tesco, Dunnes Store, Cinema and other shops available.

Brilliant hotel and would def stay there again.

Have been to a few places in Cork for afternoon tea . Oriel house is by the best so far. There was a healthy amount of sandwiches. Desserts and of course the scones . The only downfall was no decaffeinated coffee but they have taken this into consideration. Definitely value for money and will be back. If you go I hope Ellen is on, she went out of her way and found us a few sachets of decaffeinated coffee. Ellen helped to make it a 5 star rating . Thanks Ellen for your attentive service.

Lovely hotel, upmarket, all rooms are nice and well equipped, have stayed many times, restaurant is very nice and the powder keg bar has great food too, highly recommend trying the 'dirty bird' burger! Well equipped gym along with a great swimming pool.
Can be very busy and not exactly cheap but worth the little extra.
Ballincolig is a beautiful town, lots of shops, good bars and restaurants too, it' also close to all the big attractions.

Really nice hotel, leisure centre and pool were great. Food was lovely but we were waiting a while between courses. Just to note though it was New Years Eve and there was also a wedding in the hotel. The staff were so nice & accommodating, really friendly, it made the difference.

Very disappointed. Very poor for a four star hotel.
Room poor see pictures. Light full of flies and a big spider. Light in bathroom didn't work. Lock missing from window and bedside light broken. Headboard leatherette pulled off.
Food awful! Dinner in bistro a disaster even when they tried to fix it! Suppose I should have complained and asked to move but thought I might have got worse!
Breakfast self service and cold and greasy- dirty milk jug on table looked like it had been used for gravy!
Won't be back I vote with my feet - it was supposed to be a bargain break but!?!

Myself and my partner stayed in the hotel from the 26th of June till 28th of June and I have to say we both would never stay in that hotel again. The only part that I could possibly say was 4 stars was the restaurant. I found the staff in the hotel rude and abrupt and so unhelpful our room wasn't cleaned when we returned from our day out the greeting I got in the spa when I when in for a treatment put me on edge the therapist was so ignorant. We went to the bar to have a drink and the guy behind the bar had a problem that I wanted to pay by Visa card. How the hotel is 4 stars o's beyond me the noise in it every night too was appalling I was so disappointed with the whole experience and really ruined our break away.

Thanks for a lovely three days at your hotel. The reception team were friendly and helpful . The room was cosy and warm and clean. We found the service in the dining room, while friendly, very haphazard and slow both Sat and Sunday. It was a bit better on Monday. All over though we really enjoyed the experience.
