If you're staying here while visiting Cork you'll need a car but if you're planning on driving it's a great choice as its easy to get to, 10 minute drive from Cork city with lots of free parking. The room was lovely and felt quite luxurious, we also really enjoyed the bar food and the breakfast and the staff were all so nice. Would stay here again next time we're going to the area.

We recently enjoyed a 2-night mini break at the Oriel House. The rooms were beautiful spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff throughout the hotel were friendly and the food was amazing we had breakfast and dinner in the hotel both days and each meal was faultless. We also had a swim each morning in the stunning pool.
It was comforting to see the hotel had taken its Covid-19 measures seriously with all staff wearing masks and sanitation stations were distributed around each floor and at the lifts. We certainly felt reassured during our stay. We went into the city centre and down to Kinsale during our stay which were both a short distance and easily accessible from the hotel and Ballincollig itself was a lovely little town to have an amble through. Highly recommend staying at Oriel House for a break in Cork.

Stayed here over Easter wknd. Nice staff and reception area. The carpet along the corridor is so nice made me image how our carpet in room was to be.... unfortunately I was disappointed. Room is a decent size but out dated. Carpet had stains on it and was nearly coming up on one side of the room. Furniture had marks on it and one of the window handles was missing. Ironing facility was old fashioned. Bed was comfy and good pillows. Expected more for the price paid.

Noisy humming from outside the room, stains on carpet, windows needing cleaning, borderline for 4 stars and pricey. Good breakfast with friendly staff. Very pleasant pool with helpfull staff. A mixed experience.

Use gym and bar for a coffee afterwards. Gym clean and service good. Bar very clean and warm nice place to relax on your own without feeling uncomfortable. The service is OK all depends on who you get. The lady who served me the last three days did not smile once or look at me why talking to me. Food is good

Nice convenient location, reasonable food, poor floor management of bar & restaurant. Any high number of diners seems to overwhelm staff. 2 or 3 excellent people seem to be keeping the show going...could be super with more staff

I really loved the feel of this hotel. It was very nice and friendly. As a person that exercises on the road I have to give their spa (cardio, weights and pool) 5 stars, just keep an eye on the hours. The rooms had a great feel to them and the view of the countryside was unbelievable. The breakfast was top notch and the view of the hillside from the dining room was a great touch.

Staff very helpful and very friendly. Great place to meet friends. Great coffee served here. Lovely food served here and a great atmosphere here. There's an underground car park at the hotel in addition to the Overground car park. Be prepared to have courses a different way around. The hotel cater for weddings. There's a leisure centre in the hotel.

Looking forward to our next visit.

Quite possibly one of the worst hotel experiences ...

Quite possibly one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. And I have stayed hundreds of nights in hotels as a heavy business traveler.

The room was real tired. It smelled super musty, there were stains on the carpet, and it was not cleaned very well. Matter of fact the shower was so dirty I opted not to use it and took a shower when I got to the next hotel. All the furnishings were just old and warn. This place needs to be updated badly.

Secondly we had an issue with our booking and the hotel did nothing to help us out with that at all. We basically got charged 2 nights for a 1 night stay and were told that there was NOTHING they could do to fix the issue. I also sent a request to the hotel via their website about the issue and still have not heard back from them (3 going on 4 days after I have sent it).

Wifi strength in the room was also kinda low and made it tough to connect and stay connected... as someone that relies on Wifi when traveling this is a big deal to me.

There are FAR better places you can stay at in the Cork area. I reccomend looking elsewhere.

If you're looking for a hotel that has a decent fitness club, then this is the place for you. However, if that's not your primary focus for a hotel, you may want to look elsewhere.

The Oriel House Hotel's focus appeared to be on the fitness club/spa and Conference Center, rather than creature comforts you'd find in other 4-star hotel guest rooms. For example, there was no alarm clock in the rooms, which isn't a big deal until your smartphone decides to die... which unfortunately happened to me. The TV, which is a nice alternative to use when you need a clock, didn't always work, and actually required some tinkering when I first arrived in order to get it working at all. In addition, even with a high efficiency shower head (which was surprising to see after having experienced the rain shower heads elsewhere), the shower didn't drain fast enough, leaving your feet to soak in what you had just showered off. There were also no washcloths, which wouldn't have been as big of a surprise, except these were found at smaller, lower cost hotels elsewhere... not to mention, when the front desk was asked about them, they advised that they believed some were available and that they'd get back to me (after I gave them my room number)... I ended up having to stop down again about an hour later, only to find out that they had forgotten about me. In addition, staff at the front desk didn't seem to be from the area, so were unable to provide helpful insights into good places to check out... For example, when asked where we might be able to find some seafood, we were told that there wasn't any and instead were pointed towards a pizza place... a pizza place... we chose to ignore that advice, and found an excellent restaurant and bar right up the street from the hotel that had an amazing seafood chowder and fish dishes. Not sure if they genuinely didn't know about this place (the restaurant is rated highly on google), or if there some bad blood... Regardless, I stopped trying to work with the front desk at that point.

Will be staying elsewhere on my next trip to the area.

Spacious hotel, very well appointed with excellent size rooms. Ideal for a break away or indeed a corporate meeting. Good coffee, always a bonus! and well stocked in wines. Great restaurant too.

Hi I was there for the weekend as part of Ashbourne rugby club trip .
We had a great time. The staff were very helpful and friendly, and I would like to give a special mention to Niamh and Ciara in the bar who were fantastic and a credit to the hotel.

Fantastic place to stay. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms and facilities are spotless. The bar/restaurant is a big open area which can fit alot of people. Tellys also in the bar to watch the sport. The food is lovely and reasonably priced. There is plenty of parking available too. Only one little inconvenience as its a little bit away from the city so you will need a taxi.

Really friendly staff in all areas of the hotel. The room we stayed in was spacious, modern, very nice and comfortable. Leisure centre and pool are very good. Plenty of room in the pool for the kids and perfect temperature. Breakfast was good. Will stay here again

Food is good. Service is unbelievably slow.

Food is good. Service is unbelievably slow.
From time of ordering. 45min to get two burgers. It takes at least 15min to find some person to take the order...
All in all an hour and twenty minutes for two burgers... White horse next time I think

First stay in this hotel and we can't complain.
Car park free of charge and good internet:)
Very friendly reception. We had a room on the first floor with double bed and single bed, planty space in the room. Nice sitting area and room look renovated and clean.
Coffee facilities in the room, good power hairdryer.
Bed was comfy , sheets crispy enough;)
Toilet had separate shower from the bath!
Swimming pool facilities are good, you need 1 Euro for a locker.
Breakfast had planty to choose from , not sure if they serve breakfast from the menu as extra.

minuses : only 10 channels on the TV ( no kids channel), the view from the room on building side.
Kids pool by 6 pm was very dirty:(

We had a good stay and recommend this hotel for staying.

It's by far the worst hotel I have unfortunately having to stay in in my life would you believe I booked in and first I was told the room was 179 euros then as I it was 139 euros then when I did eventually get a room card I and my wife got dressed and went down stairs to have a meal when I was told the restaurant was booked for a private function could you ever think you would not be able to sit down in a hotel and have a meal then I was informed afterwards that if I left the hotel I would not have a place to park on my return to the hotel because the car park is full I have to say I will never stay in this hotel again I think it's the worst managed hotel I have ever seen they don't care about their guests instead of having a great night away with my wife it was ruined because of this hotel would you believe I'm writing this review from a restaurant in ballincollig.
