Very pricey for everything. Feels like you are on vacation tho.
"Okay." We had a very bumpy start with our experience here. We arrived at 9:30pm on a Friday night. Check out was easy but it took almost an hour for our luggage to arrive to our room. Our kids wanted to go to sleep but we needed our luggage to change/freshen up etc. We finally got everything after an hour and went to sleep. One of our kids got sick around midnight so we immediately called the front desk (there was no housekeeping button on the phone) and it just rang and rang. after several minutes and no answer i walked down to the front desk to find someone that could help us. There was ONE person at the desk who informed us that housekeeping didn't work at night..>WHAT? this is a 4 start, large hotel on a Friday night- what do you mean there is no housekeeping??? She assured me someone could help us so I thanked her and let her know what we needed. Almost an HOUR later, a nice gentleman showed up to our room with what we needed. He apologized for the wait and shared with us that he was the only one working doing housekeeping, bell services and general needs.
The next morning we wanted to see if the hotel provided laundry services- most hotels do. we had to ask the front desk, the concierge (who then had to ask someone and make 2 separate phone calls). how does the concierge not know if they have laundry service? i'd think that would be a super easy yes or no answer for a concierge??? Anyway- if my son hadn't been sick still I swear we would have left after all that. We stuck it out and our experience did get better.
to clarify, EVERYONE we encounter that works there was super nice and hospitable. they just seem to be doing the jobs of multiple people. The hotel should really review their staffing coverage and act as needed to ensure the 4 star experience matches the 4 star price. We saw several other guests unhappy with the hotel during our stay and i've literally never left a poor review of a hotel and we travel frequently. I hope management or ownership addresses the hotel staff issue so the service can match the stars.
we waited a long time for our kids to be old enough to come here; unfortunately it did not live up to what we had expected. i hope the good people working there get the support and training they need.
Hotel was great! Dated but that we expected and it was perfect.
Had dinner there. Was so dissapointed in service and meal. The server was not trained . Meals where cold and presentation was poor. Would not go back for dinner.
The rooms are tiny, though they're well maintained. The customer service is wildly varying, but usually disappointing. Most staff is almost robotic. It tries desperately to be up scale yet cater to families and succeeds at neither.
Good to visit this beautiful old hotel. We only had a light lunch there, but a good car stop.
Definitely an upscale place it's the last of the grand hotels with several places to eat inside prices ranging from $12 to$35+
Went for a stroll at the resort and browsed the shops. Staff were very friendly and the space is cozy and beautifully decorated for Christmas!
We stayed at the hotel with kids between ages 11-13. The hotel has amazing views. The restaurants are great and stickleys dining was reasonable. This hotel doesn t have much to offer for kids around teenage years. The game room has charges.. s more nights are not daily and there are only 2 fire pits. Now if I do want to go to their activity center and book any activities it s suoer expensive. We traveled out of the hotel to get reasonable pricing. The room was
not clean and not what I imagined especially for what Omni charges per night. But if you are looking for romance or just a quiet getaway this place is nice.
We had lunch in Stickneys. Wonderful relaxing atmosphere. Our waiter was fabulous
Great location, great bars and amenities. Friendly and helpful staff. Good indoor and outdoor swimming pools.
Unbeatable views, food in the steak house is delicious. Expensive but worth it
Cheese plate seems to have gotten worse. Crackers did not fit into the fry bucket and slid out. Wish they had some warm cocktails on the menu!
Stunning place to walk around and tour. Excellent buffet
Beautiful place and local. We like to come here for lunch several times a year, and shop.
Wow. Beautiful and phenomenal light cuisine. Eat out on the porch.
Amazing people, amazing food, amazing views! Spa is fantastic!
The hotel was incredibly overpriced. When we called to book a room with a wedding block, we were told all the king rooms were taken, despite my brother having reserved one for us. We were however able to get a king room for the preceding night. On the wedding day, we had to move to our queen room (which was so tiny it looked like a cruise ship room) and was also nowhere near the other members of the supposed wedding block . Check out was at 11 but our room wasn t ready until 1pm. It was a huge inconvenience, especially when we found out that other wedding attendees were the ones checking into our king room. All in all, felt that we paid far too much to have to deal with these inconveniences and will not be staying here again. The only aspect of the hotel I would recommend was the dining. Stickneys was served a phenomenal meal, and the service was incredible. No need to stay in the hotel after dinner.
Amazing location. Unique property in the region. Was a bit disappointed with the room but it was charming if lacking in function. It's hard to marry tech innovation with Victorian charm but if you dont have kids, not an issue! Go visit Glen the giant horse
Great experience! Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Room and grounds were very nice. Lots to do both on site and in surrounding area.
We had a wonderful Sunday Dinner. Good was wonderful presented and it all tasted delicious.
The hotel had some issues with a credit authorization which I was not aware of until just before my trip. It looked like everything went through on my end months in advance, and I thought everything was set. When they contacted about missing authorization information, they did not realize I did complete it, and later understood the link was "corrupted" somehow, and payment was not taken. Since I had not budgeted for this expense months later, I asked for the room to be cancelled, which they would do, but insisted in charging a night's fee regardless. I explained the situation and they were fairly unkind over the phone and basically said "too bad". Do not recommend.
Just visiting, take in the view from the veranda. Would have gone on the cog railway, but not enough time.
This is a 5 star resort. Unfortunately when we arrived the hotel had just experienced a storm and they had no power for a time. Then when it came back on line the a/c did not work and it took some time to correct this. The comfort and quality of the hotel was outstanding.
Been going to the Mt for years. Any season is the best season. Something for everyone! The views are amazing, the rooms comfortable and the service excellent
Beautiful hotel. Nice new year Eve celebrations here with my family.
Nice course with pretty views. Lots of people walking/biking around which was annoying, caused a few delays as we had to ask/wait for groups to move depending on the hole. The staff wasn't very friendly.
Overall awesome conditions and a challenging course.
This is an old resort in a very picturesque setting and have a ton of charm.
Very expensive but you can visit for a whole day. They have country ski area, great restaurant.
Have been going here every year to celebrate an anniversary and always find a plate in our room with a couple of chocolate strawberries or cupcakes and a message written in chocolate on the plate along with a congratulatory card from the staff. We love this hotel as it reminds us of the one from the film 'Somewhere in Time' which is one of our favourites and it's wonderful to sit on the patio and be able to watch the little train make its way up Mt Washington (on a clear day). The gym is excellent, esp compared to other hotel gyms and the indoor pool usually looks beautiful (apart from last year when there seemed to have been some damage to the decor) and the hot tub is always clean. The rooms are very expensive and the walls are very thin so hope you don't have anyone with loud kids on one or both sides of you who don't go to bed and jump around on the beds late into the night as we did, or that you don't want to hear your neighbours conversations/having sex! We had the same problem with kids jumping from bed to bed screaming virtually all day another time we were there. It was a nice day in June, they should have been outside or something! We are gold level members and really didn't expect to have to deal with that 2 years in a row and had to ask to be moved twice. Also, if you have a feather allergy be sure to mention that as the pillows are feather.
The other big problem we had was the food. There was absolutely nothing gluten free to be had which surprised me in this day and age with so many beinggluten intolerant and very little choice of vegetarian options too. The porch/bar menu was also really expensive and that's the cheapest place to get choked good there so we ended up getting food from the little shop but they only seemed to get, it seemed, a couple of deliveries of fresh sandwiches and salads a week so you either had to get ones a day or so old or nothing as most times the fridges were empty.
I stopped keeping anything on the floor too after on two visits found a large, black beetle - once in the closet walking happily toward my bag, and the second time on the carpet by the door. We were not on the second and third floors so I have no idea how they got there!
Despite all that, we love the atmosphere of the place and friendliness of the staff and are just hoping that, next time we go there will be better food options so we don't have too either drive out to get some everyday or bring it from home.
We had a good time over the 4th of July. Service time at the one restaurant open was really slow and very crowded. Room was good other than hair on the bathroom counter and shower. The fireworks display was great.
Overall wonderful, great classic building, outstanding service, wonderful grounds, yummy food.
Although only for tea there, but very impressive historic hotel, nice staff, nice view.
Fabulous getaway with a gorgeous view of the largest mountain this side if the Mississippi. Elegant restaurant options and emenities galore!
Great experience! Staff was extremely helpful and the room service was a bonus. Kid friendly ! Can t wait to see the summer renovation completed.
The hotel is lovely and so is the setting. Our room was an awkward two level with only a single chair. We did have a nice mountain view.
The meals at the hotel were good but not great. The nine hole golf course was lots of fun.
It is a family hotel and there were many children of all ages scampering around which is very fine, but there should be an adults only area, pool, hot tub that isn't an extra charge to use.
Great view service was fine. I hate writing this but I was really disappointed with what we recieved and saw. There was a group of 12 of us. After asking we moved the wicker couches and chairs where we were sitting so that we would be together. Doing so exposed a half eaten pickle, napkins, peices of fruit and other table debris. My wife picked these up as we saw them. Price paid for a Cheese Board was excessive. Its contents were fine, honey, crackers 3 types of cheese 6 thinly sliced meats, 2 large blackberries. Ordered also cheese cake with blueberries. I make cheese cakes...last one I had like this was made from a box, it had that consistency. My wife had a ceasar salad with salmon and dressing on the side. I had a Captain and coke, and the wife a sangria. The drinks were fine. The bill was about $74, with tip $95.00. We had follow on reservations at another restaurant and were later than we wanted to be. I needed to speak to the host/hostess or manager. Just not enough time. Maybe they were short on help or it was a one off... we are not interested in going back.
If I could afford to stay here every time I come up here o would, the hotel is so awesome and has a great view of the mountains, even as someone who was just coming for a drink I felt welcome
Old place, but very nice. Luxurious. The spa is awesome. The breakfast buffet is to die for. The restaurants are good too. We were here in the summer and took the cog railway up to the top of Mt. Washington.
We sat outside and had a great rib eye dinner while looking at Mount Washington. The view is amazing and the service was first rate. My two nights there were highlights on my tour of New England.
Great service and beautiful view. Plenty of things to do
Great views, old hotel. Went for an event, was crowded. But we'll managed.
It was really cool. The view was beautiful. We were just there for an hour or two for some sightseeing. We were even allowed to peek into the infamous room #314. It's a beautiful resort with an amazing view.
This hotel is incredibly beautiful with its striking red roof and snow white walls as you pull into the winding driveway. Upon first entering you are greeted by a warm and homey atmosphere with many sitting areas and a large fireplace in the main hall. Check in was easy and very quick.
Upon arriving to our room I was surprised by the lovely mountain view and the cozy feel. The beds are incredibly comfortable and the pillows had a very luxurious feel. The fireplace was lovely and we enjoyed being able to sit near it in the evenings.
There are a few small shops and areas to walk, along with an indoor pool and hot tub. Outside there is a bonfire to enjoy with the family.
The dining in the main dining hall was extremely enjoyable, with live piano entertainment (even a little something for the kids), and some of the most exquisite meals I've ever had. After dinner, you can stop down in The Cave for a drink. It is quite cold down stairs, so a light jacket is recommended.
The history of the entire resort is amazing and there are things to see learn more about at every turn. I will definitely return during the summer to see more of the beautiful Bretton Woods ares.
For the history buff, skier and families alike, you will enjoy this resort.
A historical gem needing a little updating. It's old and much of the staff is new which means high-priced food that is ok and service that is also ok. It's a one time visit for history kind of place that you'll never experience elsewhere.
Spectacular location, visiting is a special occasion.
Amazing place, larger than life! Check out the history of the Gold Room. Visit the Cave! So much to do here!
The place is amazing to look through. But they need to work on the food
The dinner is not good.
In the car game, the steering wheel is not capable of turning.
It was a great day with nice views. I love this area for hiking, ziplining, viewing the mountains and just enjoying the area in general!
This was first time staying hear . We stayed back on Dec. 7-9.2018. This was place just awesome to see during the Holiday season. Our room was really nice we on the back of the building we had really wonderful views. The staff went our of way to make our stay really nice . They help find good areas to take Pictures and hikes .If you want a good get way trip I would highly recommend staying hear .
Did not stay but staff was kind enough to let my friends & I take pictures with the majestic mountains backdrop outback. Even gave us a map and instructions on how to get to a waterfall. Beautiful open space, food smelled great will have to come back for it!
Certainly a must see in NH particularly at this time of the year...
This place is absolutely stunning, beautifully decorated and the views are spectacular. The staff are friendly and professional. The lunch was top notch in my book.
We had a nice stay at the resort. The room, while not big was nice. The bed was very comfort but the pillows were flat and not so comfortable. Views throughout the resort are beautiful. Food options are limited and what they do have is expensive.
5-Stars! My husband and I recently stayed at the Omni Mount Washington Resort this weekend! The views are incredible with rolling mountains as the backdrop! The staff of every department was friendly and knowledgeable. Our room was clean and large enough for 2 so that we didn't feel "on-top" of each other. The room's bathroom was a good size. The pools were great, especially the outdoor pool at night, and very clean! The restaurant on the lower level, Stickney's, had great food and drinks and provided a great atmosphere for afternoon lunch/apps/drinks and also a great steak dinner for evenings. The bar across from Stickney's, The Cave was a speakeasy and the hotel has maintained the original speakeasy feel- we loved grabbing drinks there after dinner! We had coffee and easy on the go breakfast from Morsels and grabbed some fun winter gear from Cabots and if you forgot your bathing suit like I did you can grab one at Cabots too! Overall, we could not have been more impressed with our stay- I would strongly recommend the Omni Mount Washington!
Walking into the Mount Washington Hotel, I felt like I was transported into a Christmas episode of Downtown Abbey. The chandeliers, vaulted ceilings, intricate woodwork and huge stone fireplace added to the grandeur of the place. And oh, the views! There are windows everywhere boasting amazing views of the White Mountains.
We stayed at the Bretton Arms B&B down the hill, which my 8 year quipped, felt like we were staying in the servants quarters (which I believe is what they were historically). But it cost $70 less to stay in said servant quarters, and our room was spacious with 2 comfortable queen beds. So the slight inconvenience of having to wait 5min for a shuttle to the main house was worth the savings in my book.
That being said, it would have been nice to read stories to the kids by the main fireplace in their pjs (we saw a number of families do so), not having to shower in the locker rooms after visiting the pool in the main house, and being able to roll out of bed to enjoy the amazing breakfast buffet at the Main Dining Room in the morning.
I highly recommend signing up to be an Omni Select member. Becoming members that we received 2 complimentary bottles of water, a night-time cookie delivery for the kids on our first night and the ability for a late check-out. The customer service was excellent. Everyone we encountered from the drivers, wait staff, bellhop, front desk (huge shout out to Javier at the Bretton Arms) were friendly and helpful.
We LOVED the on-site Nordic skiing. The trails were so well groomed. We were disappointed with the size of the ice skating rink (size of a driveway).
My only complaint (and they are minor ones) is that I wish the ladies locker room offered lotions (it has shampoo/conditioner/body wash). And we did not like the scent of their toiletries. We smelled like men s shaving cream all weekend. A friend who recently went to the Omni said that it took their family a full week to get rid of that scent! But other than that, I thought everything else was well appointed and comfortable. And just keep in mind that there is almost nothing in Carroll, NH, so plan on eating at the hotel during your stay!
wonderful place hard working staff but trying to do too much without enough help the cost is the same but the service doesn't make the grade Celebrated my fortieth wedding anniversary there We had dinner at Stickneys my filet was overcooked my wife's meal arrived fine they took my steak away and didn't bring a back until she was finished I got a coffee and Baileys free for the trouble . we had breakfast the next day that was cold by then we just felt bad for the overworked server ate it anyhow
The resort was beautiful. It is very close to the trailheads for Mt Washington and others
Has a very nice architecture to the property and is very nice inside as well. Can be a bit crowded as well since a lot of conferences come here.
VERY dated hotel. They do an adequate job but go with average expectations for such a beautiful venue. High prices, low performance. You go to this hotel for the views, not the hotel itself. Definitely NOT 5 star in my rating or any other.
An outstanding experience, with amazing views, fantastic food with live music,. Historic hotel with every attention to detail. Well done.
It's such an amazing building and the view of mount Washington is fabulous
Mount Washington Resort is a magnificent regal property with a divine view. The staff is friendly and helpful, the food and drinks match the expectations of such an awesome place.
Amazing hotel with a beautiful view of Mount Washington. Friendly service and great food! Would absolutely stay again.
Beautiful setting. Good choice of wine, cocktails, beer, and small plates.
Interesting, historic location. The food was very good. The dining room chairs need a thorough cleaning.
