Omni Charlotte Hotel Review

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER I SHOULD HAVE WENT TO THE WESTIN!!!
1.i was never greeted upon arrival by valet/ concierge/bellhop I literally had to wait to be assisted
2.entering room it was very clean and nice BUT THE FRIDGE DIDNT WORK and it spoiled all of my thanksgiving to-go plates
3.also I was charged a $500 SMOKING FEE for lighting candles (in which I did not light) and Taylor Warren(manager) proceeds to tell me that it is listed on website that no inscents or candles or allowed or you will be charged (I looked at website and it says no such thing)
4.at about 10:30am the next morning the water was shut off for over an hour due to boiler/water heater flood and nobody called to let us kno when it was back on.
5.when we discovered the water was back on I got inside shower and was immediately showered w/ BROWN WATER!!
6.last but not least...water leaked through window....
This stay was unacceptable and I was highly upset do not stay here I will never book here again

I have stayed here on several occasions. Always have been impressed. One time I had an issue with the guests next door but that was handled by the staff. Beautiful hotel and staff is very pleasant. Breakfast is always a nice touch along with the evening reception. Parking is easy and free at this location.

This is by far my favorite Hotel I've stayed at, it is super nice, rooms are extremely clean, staff is absolutely amazing, and it's also in a great location. If your looking for an amazing hotel in Charlotte this is definitely the hotel for you!!

Hotel designed is good, love the interior. The hotel staff are very friendly and felt welcomed. One drawback the wi-fi is very slow... (about 3MB ish)

Had the best experience ever!!! The security team Brandon to be exact, was a tremendous help and didn t stop until he help us with a situation!!! Would definitely stay there again!!

The staff was friendly and helpful. However, the hotel itself has issues. The room I was given at check in smelled musty like there was water damage. The gentleman at the front desk was quick to change me to a renovated room which seemed nice enough. I'd been in my room less than 5 minutes when blood curdling screams started across the hall. The shower had "exploded" and a child was injured by shards of glass. It took multiple calls to the front desk before anyone answered. Once staff arrived, they seemed helpful and I extracted myself from the situation.

As for the room itself, do not stay here if you are looking for peace and quiet. You can hear everything going on in the halls, the rooms next door, and on the street. Construction starts at 8 am and you hear every beep of a truck backing up for hours on end.

Lighting is dim near all the mirrors/bathroom and the the makeup mirror is very low quality. So if you need to put on makeup while getting ready be prepared for that. Also, some of the toiletries seemed to have been used. Qtip pack was opened and lotion had leaked on the countertop. I bring my own items and this wasn't a problem for me, but attention to detail with housekeeping is lacking.

Parking is valet only unless you want to pay $24/night to park your car yourself in the garage next door. They do not validate.

All interactions with the hotel staff were positive and they were very helpful. Due to the noise level and room conditions, I would not stay here again.

My stay exceeded my expectations and made my visit to Charlotte very special. The room was tastefully decorated and luxurious, service was excellent, food was delicious, and the gym was fully equipped and very clean.

Staff was friendly and helpful, and room was clean. Location is great, there must have been two dozen restaurants in walking distance. With that said, value is OK given the price.

I came here the first weekend of October for my birthday. I looked at reviews and pictures and decided to give it a try. It is a beautiful hotel and it definitely is in walking distance of bars, restaurants, and of course the Epicentre. I made sure my room was on the opposite side of the Epicentre so I could get a good night's rest and I did! The only issue I had with this hotel is when I booked I asked certain questions and they lied to me. Whatever your price they tell you for your stay just know when you get their add an extra $150 to it. It's $33 a day for valet and the rest is for incidentals. Its a nice hotel and all but be upfront and honest with your guest so it won't be a suprise. Another thing is I went to the bar that's in the lobby and when I got my drink I saw something floating in it. At first I thought it was a seed from my fruit he put in it until I took my straw and pulled out a bug!! I politely told the bartender and all he did was fix me another drink. When I felt like my money should have been remberse. Especially since I didn't get rowdy like most people do.

Clean, centrally located, and great amenities. My kids loved the views and pool, and we all appreciated the COVID protocols in place. We went for my sons 11th birthday and they put us on the 11th floor and were so kind and inviting, although business wasn t as booming as normal. Close to a lot of great restaurants, activities, and parks that are within walking distance.

I stayed here for a Mitchell E. Gibson conference (at the hotel) and was really impressed. I have never stayed at an Omni before, but the Mr. Gibson was able to get really great discounted rooms and since I was coming from Asheville and it started at 9am with a breakfast, I figured it would be best to stay overnight. The room was beautiful with a nice view. The bed was super comfortable, I actually wish I could have taken the bedding with me lol. The conference room was large and really nice too. The hotel is in a great location, easy walking to dining and shopping when we had our break.

We arrived @ 3 for check in... At 4:40 we got into our room. They did give us a $50 voucher for our wait... And charged $25 for two shots at the bar. The area is incredibly loud and my husband and I were waken by people in the hallways laughing and screaming. It was so bad that we ended up leaving @ 3 a.m. Basically I paid $220 for not even 10 hours in the room. I definitely would not recommend.

Overall was disappointed. We were not informed at time of reservation that the pool was closed for renovations and it was a big part of why we were booking with Omni. Check in staff were cold and unfriendly. Forgot the card we booked with online and were told we could only use it if we checked in online but the online check in was not working. Then given access to business center to check in there, was not informed that we would be charged to do so. Beautiful hotel, not so great customer service

This motel , has know idea what valet parking means. The use of the word under construction. Is no excuse.

Great service from arrival to departure. Valet service was easy to use and had our car waiting after calling ahead from room. Marlon, bell man, provided excellent service. King room meet expectations. Express check out made our departure easy. Really appreciate the elevator security that requires a room card to access your floor. Centrally located to lots of activities and connects to the Epicentre. Will definitely be staying here again!

The Pool is soooo beautiful, especially the view from the pool, even tho the pool isnt that big its a great place to swim, and just to be overall

The customer service at Trade Restaurant and Bar inside the Omni, is absolutely terrible. It was a busy weekend in Charl and they had limited staff. Bartenders & waiters had attitudes. We had to ask for condiments and it took forever to get them. Food order wasnt correct. NEVER AGAIN

What a delightful hotel this is! Everything was remodeled and looked absolutely stunning. The rooms were in perfect shape and very clean. It was a oddly colder outside so the usage of the outdoor pool with massive TV was underutilized but looked incredible. The restaurant downstairs had good food and great service. I would most definitely come here again and bring friends and family. Plus literally everything you could ever need because down the escalators is a Walgreens, Starbucks, and various restaurants as part of the mall!!

This hotel is average. It's clean, but they pump some overpowering & offensive fragrance throughout the HVAC system. If you're sensitive to smells, it's unbearable. We were here for a meeting. The food that was catered for us was mediocre. The staff is attentive and professional.

WiFi problems and room too hot....

The hotel was very nice and overall clean which I expect form a hotel at this price.
In 2018 I would expect the WiFi to work properly on my laptop and cell phone. This was NOT the case. I tried over and over to get it to work and even after talking to a technician it only worked for about 5 minutes.
My second problem was that the room never got cold. I set my thermostat to 61 and put the fan on high the second I walked into the room. Even on my second night I was still warm.

Amazing experience as always. Room service is the best I've ever had. Try the penne or bbq burger. I used the gym everyday and even took a free yoga class. The gym had a steam room with essential oils, I recommend everyone try it. I wish there was a microwave in the suite we stayed in, guess you cant have everything. We will be back.

Great hotel in the middle of everything downtown. Restaurants, shops and entertainment all within walking distance.Rooms are large and spacious. Great experience!

We held a private event and the staff went over and beyond to make sure our guests were pleased.

Property is freshly renovated with nearby access to a shoping plaza which hosts restaurants, barber shop, etc.

Nice comfortable rooms and friendly service. The pool bar has a great seating area with a view of the street below and some of the bars in the area.

Building is nice, rooms were clean. However, parking will run you about 50 dollars for an overnight stay. No option to validate your parking in the deck. Be prepared to park somewhere cheaper and walk, or shell out money.

For the price of the hotel you would think the rooms would've been up to date but it's not the bathrooms are loud as if you're staying in a motel , and the rooms are typical ! It was a waste of money , not to include they didn't notify me of the 20$ valet mantory parkjng a day. I rather put extra money and stayed at the Westin hotel up the street for the same price. I asked for a refunded considering I wasn't pleased as soon as I walked in the room and they wouldn't give me one , this is one of the worst hotel I ever stayed in . This hotel is not a 4 star , it's more of a 2 star but because they offer room serve and a pool on the top deck It's a 4 star ! Totally disappointed! Save your money and run the other direction !!!!

Great rooms, fantastic view, and I've never loved a bathrobe more!

Noise is a concern from outside the rooms, but a warning is provided in the room next to the TV that is very informative about the hotel's lack of sound-proofing and ongoing renovations. The bigger issue was difficulties connecting to the internet, but hotel staff informed me that it was due to renovation activities and that they are actively working on it. Staff was very friendly and the hotel itself is very nice, and located across the street from the EPICCENTRE, a food and mall area and minutes from the convention center. Recommended for business travel in about 6 months from now.

The Omni in Charlotte NC does NOT pride in their Event Department. Called twice and emailed to discuss wedding packages and they NEVER responded.

This is one the nicest hotels I have stayed at. The staff is incredibly kind and helpful, the room was lovely, and they even have a Starbucks and a gym connected to their space!

Construction and a loud party during my stay. Also the ice machine didn t work.

Expensive. $24 valet. Coke is $3.95. Hotel is dated- had a good view but not worth the money in my opinion. Fairfield or ALOFT.

The location was excellent, as it was attached to the Epicenter, however the rooms seemed dated, and the walls were very thin. Otherwise, the hotel was very clean, and staff was very courteous.

The customer service was excellent! But, I do have a few quarrels with some of the amenities in the hotel not being up to the price point standard. The rooms were beautiful, so was the pool & deck area, but the pool wasnt heated and there wasnt a hot tub. The valet was $33 and we had to wait 15 minutes to get the car back. & the only outdoor seating area they have (by the pool) was locked after 10pm, so we couldn't enjoy the city views. Other than that everything was great, but I dont feel that we got our money's worth with our stay.

Everything was great. Gorgeous lobby. Pool was under construction which was unfortunate. Rooms are a bit under scale for the outside/price.

Didnt know we were staying next door to the all night club. Can hear the music on the 9th floor like we are on the dance floor. Folks....beware the bass is so extremely loud even earplugs wont help. For what you pay to stay here it is a true tragedy. Would have been nice to know prior to booking that me and my family would not be sleeping this weekend!

The property is nicely updated and has an incredibly friendly staff. The housekeeping staff in particular is unbelievably nice! We will definitely stay here again.

You can also walk to many places including Dean and Deluca, a movie theater, shops and more. Also The Palm and Wolfgang Puck both offer room service to this property. We order WP, and it was so easy, fast and delicious!

Beware if you get a room on the epicenter side of the land. They warn you but the warning doesnt do justice. The bass music goes till just past 2am...be prepared to be up until that is finished. Other than that room was beautiful, food delicious, and staff friendly.

Our stay our friends stay and many other guest stay were very bad the girls in the bachelorette party we felt the worst for there whole Saturday was planned in the pool. I have promised all that I will keep them informed and up to date on what becomes of this past weekends bad experiance at the Omni Charlotte. One of the groups with about 8 of which 2 of the are business managers in the South Park area 1 is a Draught House. Brian or one of the managers did give the girls in the bachelorette a 50% discount and the first group and our group got total refunds food, drink and stay. We are sure many others were give significant discounts at check out. The only thing you can help me with is to have someone in UPPER management give me a call. There would not have been any problems if Greg had not shown up Brian and Brooks were doing fine till Greg came and told everyone to SHUT UP, and to stay out of the pool or there hair or something might turn green the he walked out and told the people with there legs in the water to get them out or there would be consequence's. I told him he is terrible in his job and should not have a job at least not one where he deals with people. There is much more to the whole story but that is not anything you can handle. I have ordered a police report and have told the paper and the news once I get that and the statements from all guest that gave me there contact info and I speak with Katie Wilson at public health ( she is the one that shut the pool down earlier in the week) I will then know if they told us un-truth when we checked in on Friday when they said the pool is closed today but will be open Saturday. This is where we will balance if we have a story good enough for the paper and the news. Please have someone from upper management get in touch with me

The hotel itself is wonderful, and so are the staff. But it's in a very noisy neighborhood & there's not much sound proofing.

It was nice but I don't think it lives up to its star rating. The room was okay and the room service food was less than great.

Appearance of the hotel was great. The greeting was very professional. And that the lobby desk getting checked in was fast and easy. Checking out was also a great experience going through the bill and not being overcharged for anyting. The best could have been little bit more comfortable and the pillows also and a bathroom light could have been a little brighter. But all in all had a great experience saying at the Omni Hotel. Really like the new makeover of everything at the Omni and the poolside.

The room and bed were ok. WiFi didn't work, the only ice machine on the floor didn't work, and there was a hair on the bathroom floor when I got there. Outside traffic and pedestrians were loud from the 6th floor. Didn't hate it, but not impressed either.

All was great, but was told they would bring us an extra bed. We never got it.

Dont do it... from the tv not working half the time and towels that towels that were already dirty... to the nightclub noise across the street after 1am and the crappy food menu only available til 10pm "bc they are under staffed right now" ... but the beds comfy...

I had a opportunity to stay there a couple weeks ago. The staff was awesome and very friendly. The hotel was very nice and clean. Valet parking there was amazing and very friendly. Next time I am in Charlotte I will stay here for sure.

Busy place on the weekends. Non corner rooms are small considering the price.

Do you like to listen to other people have dance parties from 9pm till 2am when you re traveling for work? If so, the Charlotte Omni is your jam. If you d like to sleep at night though, this place sucks.

I m only giving two stars because our room was just a typical hotel room, nothing nice like there pictures. I didn t see a single pic online of what our room looked like. My husband booked the room and surprised me with a little shopping getaway for our 10 year anniversary. So to say the least we where disappointed when it wasn t like anything we thought we were going to stay in. Another con was the loud bass thumping from a club I guess, until 3 in the morning. I m a light sleeper so that was rough. When I thought of Omni hotel I thought luxury but not at all. The staff was nice and the valet was convenient to end on a positive note.

Not what I expected at all. Construction was going on past the posted time. You have to pay for everything here. It's a shame that you spend so much money here and they can not give you free WiFi. The only good thing about this hotel is it's location.
