Amazing place to eat! Very friendly and competent staff and our waiter did a great job and actually picked the best stuff from the menu and brought to our table. The food is made with love and local ingredients, and different flavors and products was skillfully mixed and combined to perfect dishes.

The food here is unique, delicious, and beautiful. I also love the fact that they focus on fresh and local ingredients, definite plus. It's also surprisingly not as expensive as I thought it would be, so I'll be coming back for sure.
Small place, small parking lot. Lunch prices were about $16 each. Our group of 10 was not impressed with any dish. Though hamburgers was a safe bet. Plates had weird ingredients. Good thing I had a snack before I went there.
After many visits, it's official - Odd Duck is my favorite restaurant in Austin. The food - so delicious! Unique, seasonal, ever changing, small-enough-so-you-can-try-half-the-menu plates - often getting savory, tart, sweet, and creamy in More
Just so, so.... We went as a family of five. Ordered about 10 courses - sourdough, pretzel, ceviche, tataki antelope, bavette, head on shrimps, fish head, grilled quail, egg noodles... Portion is small, antelope and ceviche were the best of the bunch. Rest was just meh. The place was very busy on Saturday. Service was just OK. Can't see us coming back anytime soon
This place was okay. Feels kinda like a fun novelty of Austin culture. The food is great but the place wasn't very inviting in my fist visit. The menu was definitely odd, but left me wanting more. The server was a bit obnoxious and talked over us several time when we were trying to order to tell us a story ( huh?). Bottom line would go back, just hope the menu is different, maybe go for a different server.
Food was great. We tried everything on the menu. Literally, the guy buying the meal was like "bring one of everything". The waiter said "Seriously!? Okay..." then rolled his eyes so hard as he left that we all noticed.
Drinks may have been good but the waiter barely said another word to us until he brought the check. I had to ask runners for drinks.
I don't know what his problem was but it kinda soured things. Would have been nice if he was like "hey, why not skip one or two and then try dessert? Also this is what I recommend you pair to drink with x y and z"
The best date spot in Austin! Me and my girlfriend get paid on the same day occasionally, and when we do we usually go out for dinner. I'd say 90% of the time we end up going back to Odd Duck. The service is great, drinks are great, and the food is amazing. The menu is creative and changes with the seasons. Not a bad thing to say about this place!
If you love unique, crafted, flavorful dishes this is the place. It's tapas style (small/medium dishes to be shared). For three we had: - Redfish Ceviche -- loved it, and crunching the chips does make it better - Marinated Beets -- yummy and fresh, but hey they add candied hazelnuts so of course it'll be great - Grilled Mushroom Nachos -- these were good, not awesome - Vegetarian Noodle -- without the goat chile (one of us was vegetarian), still this was an excellent dish - Head-on shrimp with pork belly -- not sure the combo worked but the shrimp were succulent and the pork belly was excellent with just enough crust - Chocolate Cake -- it had sweet potato chips and orange rind on the top, the rind worked with the cake but the cake needed more chocolate punch -- wouldn't order this one again - Donut Holes with candied pecans and amazing ice cream -- this was fantastic -- the donut holes had a great crust to them and were awesome when paired with the ice cream and nuts
Old Fashioned cocktail was a bit on the "punch-like" side -- the bourbon was too masked.
The waiter was "bossy but in a charming way," attentive and really knew his stuff.
The food was extraordinary. I highly recommend this place. It is pricey but well worth it for the freshness, quality and flavor. Also, fun to share all plates.
Came in from California to see our new grandson, and met our son and daughter in law for dinner. We had assortment of delicious plates , great drinks. Had a great time and the food was great also. Definitely recommend the Odd Duck
First time visit, great atmosphere and drinks. Was a little disappointed that they didn't have any duck on the menu since that is what brought here but all the food was good. Family style was perfect for our group of 4.
Visited 3yrs apart on separate wedding anniversaries, and we may make it a tradition. Menu is amazing, the flavors combinations are bold and exquisite. Friendly staff help get you in and out in under an hour without feeling rushed.
I have been to Odd Duck 4 times now, and it has never disappointed. Food, decor, atmosphere, service-all outstanding! I love that the wait staff recommends their ever changing menu items (change with what is available for the season and local ingredients). Each food item I have had there tastes like a flavor explosion in my mouth. Always delicious and love trying new things. The drinks are also great. I will be back!
The food and drinks are wonderful. The menu is well-curated. The service is usually good and the staff are usually knowledgeable about the menu and bar, with few exceptions.
We let our amazing server Dustin order for us after asking if we had any food allergies/ restrictions. All 5 of us are here for a convention and unanimously agree that though the food descriptions sound odd , everything was absolutely amazing. It's served tapas style, check your diet at the door and enjoy! I hear reservations are recommended- we had one and were sat immediately.
What a special night with my wife and daughter spent at Odd Duck. Right from the start our service started off with Jen giving us a feeling that we were in for something special. Since we got there kinda early (5:45pm on a Wednesday) we learned it was happy hour and some cocktails were specially priced and even better all bottles of wine under $100 were 50% off. We took advantage of both. The menu was super unique with amazing combinations on small plates to share. All were excellent!! 5 for the three of us was plenty, but then we had dessert. OMG - carrot cake spice donut holes!!! Warm with a scoop of ice cream. Amazing. A great night all around. Wish we lived in Austin.
Love the small plates. Their sour cream with veggies is so light and refreshing. The service could have been better as our server did not look like he was in a particularly good mood while serving us. Didn't like the entrees or dessert too much.
Unique small dishes done quite well menu ever-changing and it's for the better these eclectic morsels will have you coming back... Our waiter was kind of a snobby doofus though.
Pork belly on french toast, duck sausage on pancakes, should I say more? Went during their brunch hours. Service was perfect, food was amazing and their cocktails were on point.
Best sit down dinner we had on our visit to Austin. The place is BUSY so get a reservation, but it's busy for a reason. While I usually don't like tapas, every item we had was fantastic from the appetizer-type dishes to the larger items and the cocktails as well. This place is on the pricier side, but you get your money's worth. The free valet parking is a nice bonus.
The happy hour here is AMAZING. I had heard it from multiple people but I am so glad we listened. We made a reservation through their website which I highly encourage !! Everything was so delicious. Half off draft cocktails, half off bottles of wine under $100?!?! Definitely coming back here as soon as I can. Also, the staff was amazing. Excellent service.
Fantastic service, lovely atmosphere, spectacular food, and my husband and I were both amazed when we got our bill because it was much less than expected!!! We had sourdough, BBQ squash, and chicken nachos. The Pear Ghallager was a delicious cocktail. Highly recommend Odd Duck!
One of my favorite restaurants in Austin. They have a rotating seasonal menu with very interesting small plates. Combinations that are unexpected meld together perfectly. My girlfriend likes the paloma, and everything else on the cocktail menu is constantly changing. The desserts are fantastic, the food is divine. Highly recommend. It is a bit pricey, but certainly worth it on occasion.
We had a delightful time at the Odd Duck. Everything (and we had almost everything they served) was terrific. Kudos to our waiter, Eric, who made the whole experience an "experience". We have never seen a waiter so enthusiastic about a menu or a restaurant.
Great ambience. Food not so great. Suffers from over trying. Too many ingredients, too many textures. The premise of the menu is based on single sourcing the ingredients from 50 local farms, but that doesn't mean that each dish has to showcase a majority of the ingredients.
The Odd Fashioned is truly a peculiar twist on the traditional old-fashioned and well worth a try .I tried several of the standard bourbon options and found it delightful. I suggest you get there early because it's a popular place and the dishes are limited quantity, but the quality of the food there is beyond fantastic. As I sat at the bar enjoying a fine cocktail I couldn't help but notice the clean kitchen and the extremely professional staff. This is a restaurant with talent and training. It's obviously run with care and precision.
I recommend everything, but I want to point out that I really enjoyed the fried fish head and I did not think I would.
An exceptional experience for lunch at a very reasonable price! Wait staff was courteous, attentive, and knowledgeable. The food is farm-to-table and therefore varies according to season. Two of us each ordered one small plate, and then split a sandwich, and then each ordered a dessert. The food was phenomenal!
Great restaurant, high quality food and good cocktails. Only minus point: kitchenstaff ,servers work for 12 hours and get paid not enough!!! if you are a real farm to table restaurant you treat your workers better. i like the beer idea (you pay a bit more and crew gets beer) but i would like to have the amazing cooks and servant to earn more!!!!! get those wages up and hours down(2 shifts)!
Very attractive patio, great farm to the table restaurant, unique dishes, tasty food and excellent service. A must try restaurant when you visit Austin. Love this restaurant
All farm fresh foods, very Austin-ite place. There is ample seating shockingly for how small the place is. There are so many great options with a twist, depending on if you like twists it's really good. I tried a handful of plates, everything is fairly small, but good if you get a few dishes for everyone to have a bite or two. The goat is out of this world good, it's texture ended up being like brisket. The bar has lots of great options as well. There is valet parking, however that was the only downfall, the valet people nearly ran us over and took the door of our car out. That is the reason for 4 stars, to me that represents the restaurant as well.
Without a doubt the best brunch experience I have ever had! Outstanding service, we felt like the Queen! Food was unbelievable and we loved the family style plates. Thank you Odd Duck!
This place is so rude. I called to have a bottle of champagne sent to a friend on her birthday as I couldn't make the dinner. First they didn't have the bottle I wanted from their menu posted online, the girl claimed the menus change constantly and aren't updated. Then she told me there was an automatic 20% gratuity on the 45 dollar bottle. Plus tax this would come to 60 dollars all for a nice deed. I get that the waitress needs to be compensated for her time but she didn't even help me pick the bottle and wasn't involved at all in the process. So I told the lady I would think about it and call back. To that she responded "our dinner service starts soon so we won't be able to take such orders over the phone after 5 because we will be busy". Basically giving me an ultimatum. Needless to say I decided against sending the bottle.
Took me way to long to finally get here and very pleased. Great atmosphere, service, and fairly priced. Enjoyed all 6 items ordered, but 2 (recommendations from our server) really stood out as special. 10/10 will be going back to try the rest of the menu and seasonally as the menu changes.
I found this place on a research hunt for the perfect place to celebrate my birthday with my husband and it delivered! The atmosphere was vibrant and elegant but cozy at the same time. The menu is meant to share so you can sample multiple items. My husband and I were a little lost but our server was so helpful and helped as navigate the menu We had the best night and I've never had better food.
I went here for dinner with a group of five on a recommendation from a friend. I love that they source their goods locally, and I felt like the menu was very creative. We ordered maybe 8 dishes between the lot of us, and had plenty to go around. If they have pork belly, you have to get it! Everything was delicious overall, their chefs are very skilled, and their staff is very attentative.
Great staff, beautiful food, gorgeous decor. Much more qualified foodies have said more eloquent things about this place so all I'll say is: cheers I'll drink to that.
Atmosphere is great, food is different but all that we had was tasty, waitress was super rude and annoyed at my food allergy and just rude in general. Won't be back due to her
I have to say that this was the best meal we've had in Austin. The staff was amazing and the food was perfect. In order of preferences, we liked the 6. Pretzel Carnitas 5. Smoked fish/goat cheese. 4. Fried chicken 3. red beans/rice 2. Pork Belly. 1. Tamale. It was all really amazing.
A superb place for a group happy hour! You can't go wrong with anything on their menu and their cocktails are just delicious. Staff is beyond friendly and the ambience is casual but classy
Attempted to go in for happy hour, but was told it was a 45 minute wait. Could get drinks but no food. Unfortunate because there were plenty of open tables, and a few spots at the bar. Literally said to hostess "Are you basically telling me to go somewhere else?" She said "yes" so I did. I'm sure the food is amazing, but the staff should be too. Bummed I couldn't try the food.
Local, slow food menu with sustainability and innovation front and center...oh, and EVERYTHING is epically delicious!! The menu changes regularly in response to what foods are locally available and in-season. This is the best place to challenge your pallette and try stuff you wouldn't normally try! And even better, their happy hour is AMAZING. Half off bottles, drink specials, and a rotating selection of food menu items also half-off.
One of my favorite restaurants in all of Austin. I make it a point to visit every time I am in town. Try and experience as much of the menu as you can. Great thought and variety goes into it. Service is impeccable, friendly, and laid back. Make sure you buy the staff a beer if you really liked your meal.
Good food. Good service. Noise level not too bad. The patio on the side (not facing Lamar) is shaded and comfortable even on a hot day. Keep in mind that the portions are on the smaller side, so your actual bill may be higher than you think.
