Food is fantastic but the portions are incredibility small. I love small plates but these are VERY little. I'd come back for "appetizers" but not a meal...

Amazing food and staff! Our waitress was friendly and knowledgable of the menu. I'll definitely be coming back!
Went here for Sunday Brunch and loved it! The food is amazing (especially the pork belly biscuit!), the coffee is phenomenal, and the atmosphere is nice. Small issue was with the tequila sunrise I ordered; for some reason it was served with a pickled green bean (didn't ruin it, but was confusing garnish). Definitely worth the drive down Lamar!
Super yummy happy hour apps. The tomato salad and pretzels were my favorite. Our server was the sweetest and the staff in general was very productive. You should try the happy hour watermelon marks! Great choice for $6.
My way too short business trip to Austin led me to the Odd Duck for lunch before heading out. We had the Pretzel with chorizo spiced mushrooms, squash, cheese, pepperoni spiced mayo. I got the Burger w chili, beer cheese, tostada, cilantro, broccoli-brussels sprout slaw and aioli was truly decadent. Already too full, we shared Carrot cake spiced doughnut holes with mesquite bean-pecan ice cream and maple glaze. It made for a belly full of food on my flight home. A Must visit place.
Amazing quality food. Casual ambiance. New menu every month and I'll try to eat there just as often.
WOW! In town visiting family, we could not have made a better decision in eating here (7 adults, 3 kids under 6). One of the best experiences I've had. Justin was PHENOMENAL!!! He knew the menu inside and out, no questions left unanswered...Farm-to-Table menu changes with regularity, the creativity and flavor profiles left nothing to be desired...from the pork belly to the fish head, nothing short of spectacular!
Can't wait to return to Austin!
Is this a real place? Legit worth sitting at the counter. Great place to ask a lot of questions, eat a lot of random things, and wonder why the kitchen mimosas are so cheap.
Quality over quantity. Excellent service, fresh food and great atmosphere. Highly recommended.
Awesome venue. Love the small menu since it's all so good I wanted to try it all.
Amazing. I went here for lunch on my friends and my bday and they treated me so well. Food was outstanding as was the service .
Oh no!!! Thought I was going to get an odd Austin meal, I sure did! Expensive, not good, and went and ate at McDonald's afterward
Awesome "new Austin" eatery in the heart of South Lamar. Great food and bar!
Ate here a few months ago - some of the best flavors I've had. A little pricey for me, but I left feeling like I got a great meal.
We were taking care of as soon we walked in. Fantastic service, delicious food, cozy atmosphere. Perfect fine date spot. Special shoutout to Mag and Brandon.
Ever changing menu that s locally source keeps things interesting. While some dishes may not be winners for you, the ones that do, stick in you memory. Looking forward to coming back even knowing my favorites aren t likely going to be there. Oh that oyster stuffed quail how I ll miss thee.
I wish I had gotten to try some of the food 'cause it looked great. Cocktails were spot on.
First time trying this place. Our bartender Katy took care of us start to finish and gave the best service we ve ever had. Food and Drinks... INCREDIBLE!
Was a pretty good experience. Beer list is great here. Pricing is phenomenal. Wish we came for happy hour as it had a great selection. Great variety.
Hard to beat this spot, very solid menu options. One of my favorites!
Food was pretty good but the price was quite steep. Also we didn't realize that it was a tapas place so expect to get 4 to 5 plates for 2 people.
The rest of the food was great and I definitely want to try the rest of the food, especially as it changes with the seasons. All the food is perfectly shareable so make sure to come with a group of people! The server we had was also super attentive and friendly and was able to answer all of our questions.
Everything was great, including the service. foie gras caramel was to die for! I was also impressed that they called us the night before after we made our reservations to ask about food allergies or anything else. I'd return here!
I came in this place pretty pissed because of something that happened beforehand and the staff was still friendly and cheered me up( or maybe the tasty beverages did that ;D). The food is a decent price and super tasty and is great when you're in the mood for something a little different. They have a little bit of a twist on some classic homey dishes and some completely "odd" dishes altogether that will leave you satisfied.
Its too bad I'm a plane ticket away from getting another carrot parfait!
Loved having brunch here, the food was incredible! Started with drinks and a couple plates for the table. The seeded pretzel came with strong beer mustard and pimento which we all loved. The roasted beets and drinks were also very good! I got the Cajun bbq shrimp & grits and WOW. The grits had the perfect level of salt, and the sauce had great flavor. The shrimp was pretty large and sat next to the breaded egg. I loved cutting into the egg to see runny yolk! (If you don t like runny yolk, I wouldn t recommend getting this - or ask for the egg cooked differently.) Loved the main dish and was even happier to enjoy dessert! The lime panna cotta is topped with crunchy graham crackers, almonds, ginger, meringue, and mint leaves. It was all amazing! Almost like key lime pie in the form of panna cotta. Would recommend these dishes and hope to visit Odd Duck again!
Food was good overall. Good service. One of my guests had a hard time finding something they wanted to eat however. Portions in the smaller side. Prices in the higher end.
A bit higher prices for a small portions. But absolutely unique and delicious. Cocktails are great! Interesting atmosphere. Very nice and helpful staff offering good service
Fantastic farm to table gem in Austin. Absolutely worth checking out!
Food was great! Seating not so much. Ended up at the chefs table and that made our night, until we were sat...it was really drafty near an open door. Overall good meal, just don't sit at the chefs table.
Cool vibe here. I think I had everything on the menu (not really but had quite a bit) and it was all delicious. Pork belly was my fave!
Brunch chicken and waffles were amazing! Balanced with candied pecans and pickled veg, and crispy chicken that is just a little spicy it was perfect. The rice bowl my brother ordered with pork belly I wouldn't recommend. The sauce and flavors were too heavy and sweet and it overwhelmed the ingredients.
Small plates but well worth the cost. Some of the best food I ve ever had that can not be found anywhere else. Good group spot for sharing multiple plates as if they were large tapas. Incredible service.
WELCOMING AMBIANCE AND FOOD. GREAT FIRST DATE LOCATION
We went here for an anniversary dinner. The staff were exceptional. It was refreshing to see a business taking recommendations seriously during the pandemic and following protocols. It was a first for us during this pandemic - to go out and feel safe (having arrived at other events and businesses to find them lax or resistant to following proper safety measures). Beyond how they were handling operations during the pandemic, the service was great. Attentive, informative. Dishes were delivered to our table at the perfect pace and our waiter was enthusiastic and accommodating. The food was superb, excellent, unique, delicious, and just so good.
Amazing & creative food. Even better service. Good happy hour prices
Delicious, super quick (May have been because I was eating solo), great attentive service, and a fresh, unique menu. I ll be coming back. Highly recommend.
Fantastic food! Small portions but exquisitely prepared. Great selection of beer. Amazing service.
Food is amazing! First time eating here and was very pleasantly surprised. Service was top notch. Waitress took her time to answer all our questions regarding the menu and we never felt rushed. Had lunch here and already planning when we'll come back to try the dinner menu .
Food out of this world, truly amazing! A must in Austin.
Everything was meticulously put together. We sat facing the kitchen and enjoyed watching all that goes into each and every exquisite plate. We enjoyed ourselves so much we didn't mind giving an extra $10 for the kitchen. Everything was perfect!
The most unique combination of food do that I've ever experienced. I loved the way the flavors stimulated my taste buds!!! A definite must for your bucket list.
Fair staff and atmosphere. I do think this place is overrated. My boyfriend and I saw a 4.6 on google and were like This place must be really good it s honestly overrated the food was just OK. The plates are small portions and the flavor is okay. Not worth my money but that s just me.
"Loved it" is an understatement. Prior to the military I was in the service industry. That being said I feel that I have high standards for service but I also am understanding of long waits for food, not exceptionally timely refills and other annoyances to most. I go in hoping for the best and planning for the worst. This place was on the radar because my friend and I were looking for yaupon tea on Austin. We live in San Antonio and made a day trip of it. I enjoyed everything about this place. Our service was stellar, I believe our server's name was Joseph. He made great suggestions and explained the menu items in detail. I enjoyed the food, the service, the yaupon tea- all of it. I truly don't know if I have ever had a better server than him! I will be returning!
Great food! We'll definitely be back! It was brought to our attention that this restaurant existed by out of towners. We're a little embarrassed that we didn't know about this odd little duck. Def a gem! - A few odd ducks at The Odd Duck.
New favorite farm to table meal in the city... by far!
This is one of my favorite places in Austin, which is saying a lot! The food is always creative, beautifully presented and absolutely delicious! They source a lot of ingredients from local farms and you can taste the quality and freshness! Happy hour is a great time to try a variety of their amazing foods and a rotating specialty cocktail. Lots of beer and wine specials as well. Never disappointed at Odd Duck!
Amateur service and so so food, not impressed. Very overpriced. I won't come again
One of the best dining experiences of my entire life!
The lamb pasta was out of this world. I'll be dreaming of it until I can visit again.
Rudest waiter I have ever had. We were a party of six and we had the worst service ever. I used to wait tables and bartended all through my younger years. This guys was horrible. He even said he was the "QUEEN OF MEAN" absolutely horrible service. Never going back
Never disappoints.. Creative dishes and cocktails, great atmosphere and staff. Wonderful presentation and quality. Food lovers/foodies will very much enjoy this place
Odd Duck is such a rare treat! With small plates being the name of the game, this is the perfect place for date night or an intimate dinner opportunity with 3-4 guests. The prices for the small plates are not that bad, but be warned 1 plate only feeds 1 person and is not a whole meal. Light dinner is definitely an option.
Some recommendations: THEIR HOMEMADE BREAD. My god it is a heaven-sent goody. The goat lasagna if it is on their season menu, is divine as well. Goat ground meat and goat cheese in one lasagna? Pinch me.
Overall a really excellent find in Austin, TX. I really enjoyed odd duck and will be finding a celebratory reason to eat there again soon!
"Check out the thai yellow curry pizza for a pizza with a twist"
Amazing food, amazing staff that is very professional and laid back. Luxury food with a very reasonable price. (Coming from a 19 year old college student.)
Chill crowd and good food! The brunch menu is mostly small plates so get two or three
Great food, however the portions are just WAY too small for me. Every dish was about $15-20 and when you are getting a bite or two per dish, the prices add up quickly.
Fantastic spot with well thought out dishes. Perfectly eclectic and plates are just the right size so our table could try and share more than a few. Smart food and great service, a fun Austin meal we all kept talking about.
Such a great find! Amazing seasonal selection of foods and equally great drinks to accompany your taste buds.
Highly recommended!
A must go to. Small plates and absolutely great vibe. Excellent food and a magnificent bar.
Cool eats at Odd Duck. They are a new American style eatery just around the corner from my condo. My favorite is the duck sausage. The meat is a little gamy, but they do such an excellent job at adding flavor to it, you can't beat the duck. The bread on their sandwiches is fresh baked. You can smell the wonderful fragrance when you walk in the door. Staff is friendly, makes me feel comfortable.
Went here with my family a few weeks ago and got confused looking at the menu as to how the flavors of everything would work together, but everyone got something different and sure enough it all tasted great(especially the french toast)! Our waitress was also super nice and attentive. It's a bit pricey but 100% worth it. Totally recommend this place and will be coming back :)
Top five meals of my life. Be ready to drop some bills. Worth every penny!
Probably the best bread pudding I've ever eaten! Menu was perfect for sharing... delicious!
We enjoying an evening at Odd Duck!! The drinks were great, my favorite is the draft Polama with the salt on the rim, that makes a great sip!
Food wise: loved the broccoli quesadillas, it was so flavorful!! The burger was so juicy and delicious!! The roasted beets and goat cheese was ok, the beets could ve used more roasting for my taste. The cornbread was fresh and it was a good bite with the butter! Our least favorite was the sweet potatoes, the curry overpowered the taste.
The bartender was really nice and had perfect timing!
The happy hour is really great value!
Delicious red fish head in tamarind sauce. They run out quick, so get there early!
The best small plates, great cocktails and good service.
We had lunch here and the food was fantastic! From the valet attendant who opened the door for us, to the charming seating hostess who recommended sitting at the bar so we could see the kitchen, to the server who gave excellent suggestions and brought a sample of cider - everyone was top notch.
We had the ceviche, a green salad and the huarache all shared between two and there are beautiful nuanced flavors in every dish.
Watching the kitchen was also fun as they worked with a quiet intensity and lots of smiles. Even as busy as they were, we still got a few friendly words.
Well worth the price and I would highly recommend a lunch here to any foodies in Austin.
Enjoyed the cuisine with all of my friends celebrating a bachelor and bachelorette party. The place had delirious appetizers and great tasting drinks.
Decent food, but not amazing and definitely not worth the price and slow service (not the fault of the servers, I think food just took forever to come out of the kitchen).
Incredibly over priced. You need to get at least 3 plates to equal a decent meal, add 2 drinks in and your at $60/person. The food is very average too. Fancy names & titles for $20 plates you'll finish in 3 bites. I'll never go back.
An all around great dining experience. Enjoyed it so much I came back again 4 days later. Go during happy hour for incredible value.
Odd Duck was incredibly busy when we came in. We arrived around 7pm on a weekday night and were told it'd be a 45m wait for 3 people. We ended up waiting around 20m before we were offered the corner area near the bar. Taking in how busy the restaurant was, we realized this was probably one of our only options.
Upon being seated, the server at the bar promptly arrived and kindly walked us through the menu and specials since it was our first time. Being incredibly hungry and overly excited about trying the food, we got a little ambitious with ordering dishes.
We ordered the red fish ceviche, pretzel with chorizo spiced mushroom, fried brown rice with duck egg, wagyu bavette, shrimp and kimchi and another special dish with waygu. Here's the roundup, the ceviche and fried brown rice are a must. I wasn't a fan of the shrimp and kimchi, it tasted like cioppino or manhattan clam chowder, and the shrimp was rather fishy (it was the only dish we didn't finish). The waygu was a close second to the first two dishes, the pretzel was great (but not amazing). All in all, I'd still rate this place 5 stars given the uniqueness of the dishes, the quality of the food was clearly consistently good across many different flavors and types of dishes. The service was fantastic - our waiter/bartender was friendly, engaging and attentive (especially given how busy the bar area was). I will likely be back next time I'm in town.
So good. Parking is a pain, but the ever-changing menu is always good.
Wonderful modern Texas cuisine. Excellent service.
Our favourite foresters restaurant in Austin. A little pricey but always great.
This is so far one of the best restaurants I have tried in Austin. The philosophy of Odd Duck is to provide small dishes to share so that you can try various of their dishes during a meal (they recommend 4-5 dishes to share for two people). They work with local providers and suppliers which means that their menu contains many seasonal dishes based on seasonal produce.
We went during happy hour, and it turned out to be an incredible deal for this kind of (upscale) eating experience. My highlights were the grilled quail and the beets and cheese curds plate and my husband's favorites were the ceviche and the roasted sweet potatoes. I was less impressed by the pretzel though (tasty but not surprising as the other dishes). We also ordered two desserts and they were just amazing. During happy hour, the bottles of wine (that are less than $100) are also half the price!
Service and staff were very correct, they took care of everything not rushing us through the meal. We requested to be seated in the patio, because the indoor seating area seemed extremely noisy (this is a common thing in Austin). The patio area was in fact quiet and very pleasant.
Odd Duck is, in my opinion, a must-go restaurant in Austin. Some people might think it is pricy for the portion sizes but it is more about the experience and about trying new and familiar flavors that are originally combined into delicious dishes. And it has an incredible happy hour!!! I cannot recommend it enough!
