I had really high hopes for odd duck. We went after many people recommended it and I was really looking forward to the creative plates and chic atmosphere. The food was very good and the drinks were fun but our service was terrible. Our waitress made a very rude assumption and it was very hard to get over and enjoy the rest of our meal. We ended up cancelling the rest of our order and leaving. The manager was nice but could have been a little more helpful based on the poor service and treatment we received. I would go for the food, but don't expect much from the service.

In for lunch. Service very solid. Redfish ceviche good, but too much focus on sauce rather than fish. Burger great, top to bottom. Top 5% all time. Profiteroles on point, very good. Coffee luke warm. Dinner and lunch experiences very different, as dinners have been amazing, and lunch was merely very good.

Probably my favorite place in Austin right now. It is best to go with a group of people and share some small plates for brunch. Their french press coffee is amazing and you should ask if they are still doing baseball cards of their wait staff....

The place was a whole lot more enjoyable when it was a food truck!!! Miss the great sliders they had, they shouldn't forget their roots and how they started. They went from being a great food truck to a pricey "gourmet" small plate restaurant.

The odd thing about Odd Duck is that duck is not on the menu. Besides that, the food is delicious.

Tuna ceviche is not your typical ceviche. It has a hint of sweetness and not sour at all. It is fun to eat and will surely whet your appetite for what's to come. Grilled carrot could almost be the star of the menu. The carrot is tender on the inside and grilled on the outside and showered in this special sauce with chili oil. Make sure the sourdough bread is a companion on the table. You will need it to sweep up the sauce left over after devouring the carrot. The fried quail is probably the best quail I've had at an American restaurant. The meat stays juicy with a light fried and flavorful outer coating. The grilled oysters are mediocre and are outshined by the other stars on the menu. Fennel pork chop is fragrant and delicious and is accompanied with romanesco, a distant cousin of broccoli and an ingredient you do not see often. The strawberry sorbet with beet topping is refreshing and a good ending note; enjoy it and don't freak out when using the restroom later; it's the beet.

And don't forget to check out the bar stools. They are cute.

The Odd Duck is unique indeed. The menu changes weekly/monthly - I don't remember which - I don't go often enough - so it is always very unique based on the time of year. It is family style so expect to get 2-3 dishes per person and you should definitely try at least one of their desserts!

Yummm!!! Had a great experience here tonight. The staff was super helpful and helped accommodate us even though our reservation didn't go through on their site. Our server was all smiles and was more than happy to answer any questions we had about the menu. I had the ceviche, the quail, and the carrot cake for desert and left with a full belly and big smile on my face. Highly highly recommend. But make sure to make a reservation otherwise you may have to wait well over an hour to be seated.

I have been to Odd Duck three times now, and have not been disappointed one bit! Their menu is innovative and fun and their seasonal plates are fantastic. My summer recommendations include their tomato salad (heirloom tomatoes, goat feta, peaches, croutons) and the Orange Duck. Seriously, the duck blew us away! It is so delicious.

My overall favorite on their menu is the black olive pasta with braised goat. It is SO GOOD every time - the flavors are perfect!

Their service is great with people genuinely excited about the food and flavors. They have a good cocktail menu and excellent beer selection. If you have not yet been to Bryce Gilmore's newest restaurant - you are definitely missing out!

This is an easy one. Odd Duck is the easiest restaurant to recommend that I've ever encountered. There are no qualifiers needed. It's not expensive, It doesn't require fancy clothes, reservations weeks in advance, waiting in a huge line, or even an adventurous palate. It is simply amazing comfort food that everyone can enjoy. Odd Duck bends over backwards to cater to everyone, veggies, vegans, gluten-free, and I think they even have a couple other menus. Everyone can eat well here - especially the lucky ones like me who eat everything.

The menu changes all the time, so it's hard to give you specifics that will be available when you go, but I insist you order one or more of the bread courses, which are always amazing. Sharing is encouraged, so order as many different plates as your party can handle, and experience the widest possible array of expertly prepared local food. Service is friendly, the food starts coming out pretty quickly, and the cocktails are memorable. Get here immediately.

Great food, good wine. Honestly, the food is worth it but the drinks are over hyped for the price including the wine. But, they have to hype the drinks to match the food. The pork chop is really great, as is the bavette. Nice service, too.

We came for a brunch on Sunday. The service was very good and the overall experience was great. The food isn't the same thing you see on most menus and nearly everything is sourced locally.
We had a good time and would return when we come back to Austin in the future.

Excellent small plates. We tried six different ones and were super impressed by five, and the sixth plate was still very good in my opinion (although not my partner's). Pretty good wine list too. Fun, casual atmosphere. Our server Zinnia was excellent and had good recommendations. We'll definitely be back!

They are always experimenting with different food combinations and pairings and rarely do they not impress. Cool atmosphere with great service. We like to take out of town guests here because they get a taste and feel of Austin in a single location.

Easily a top 5 Austin restaurant for me. We've gone several times, and every dish is amazing. I love that they change up the menu relatively often. In terms of pricing, we have nearly always been right around $50 a person regardless of group size with a drink factored in as well.

Been thinking about this review for awhile. But I think I'll just make it brief: we did not like it here. We didn't like the food and we were just not a good match with our waiter. Hard not to feel this place is overrated but probably everyone would say I was wrong.

Absolutely one of my favorite places. Came here with clients for a luncheon and the experience was fantastic. The atmosphere and the people are so inviting. Drinks and food choices are great. Would recommend the shrimp and avocado salad. Great place for all to dine at.

Odd Duck isn't friendly towards people who don't eat gluten or red meat. Plus, it's VERY over priced for what you get. I realize it's tapas but paying $20+ for 2 teeny tiny quail legs is overpriced. I eat seafood and chicken and I'm gluten free, this ruled out pretty much everything on the menu except 1 item - the ceviche. The waitress was kind enough to mark up the menu with how everything could be modified for a gluten free diet.
Not worth the money.

The service and vibe are great.

It's a small plates joint that boasts the best food in Austin, but falls short of that mark. These small plates are the size of an appetizer for the price of an entree. A regular cup of coffee is the double the price of a large latte. By the time our 5th small plate came to the table, our main dining plates were soiled with the refuse from several other dishes. Temperature control was poor, causing the interior to be uncomfortably hot during dinner. Overpriced for food that was not worth it. But the service was good.

This Eddie V's is right down near the 6th Street area, but it isn't a cheesy tourist restaurant. It sure doesn't look like much from the outside, but it has a sophisticated, cosmopolitan warm glowing interior. We've visited them in a couple of other cities and this lived up to its reputation. The four of us enjoyed 24 oysters in...

My favorite place to eat on special occasions in Austin. It's a great place for shareables with friends or a loved one. The bar and service are on par with any fine dining restaurant without the stuffiness. I was really impressed by there since drafting a edited menu for me to accommodate my food allergy. Extra points for that level of detail. That is on top of the extra points for wonderfully creative and filling dishes. I will keep coming back.

First time to dine At Odd Duck, dined with three other friends and waiter recommended sharing 8 to 10 dishes. We ended up ordering 8 dishes, but we were disapointed. Portions were small for a bill of $130 plus tip. Go with an open mind and recommend ordering 2 to 3 dishes first to see if you like it.

Such a treat! Loved every single thing we got and it was all very unique. Extremely friendly service as well. Higher prices, if you really want to fill up, but it's an excellent once-in-awhile pick.

Want to eat at one of the top 5 restaurants in Austin for 40 bucks? Odd Duck is your place. No wait at 3pm. Got sweet corn soup, I really wish there was more of it - so good. Some rice dish with a duck egg - amazing. Topped it off with a beef tung ruben - melt-in-your-mouth meat. If I was really hungry I could of gotten something else - but it satisfied me. Check was <$40 with tip.

The wait staff is condescending . The management who backs them up doesn t understand What CUSTOMER SERVICE MEANS. The manager actually deasxalated the issue and then REESCALATED IT. Poor management. Poor judgement . Biased opinions who don t want to hear or accept TRUTH.

I made reservations to Odd Duck for my 9th wedding anniversary a month in advance. The restaurant contacted me a few days in advance to confirm and let me know they knew it was our anniversary, which was very nice. We had been excited to try Odd Duck after so many friends giving it rave reviews.

When we arrived we were greeted and seated at the bar first strike next to the drink pickup station second strike. It was December and we had no place to put our coats, being sat at the bar for our anniversary dinner.

Soon, the manager came out and gave us a dish as a gift telling us that the 9th anniversary is the pottery anniversary. There was a nice message written on the bottom, which was super thoughtful. But we had no place to put this ceramic bowl other than on the bar (because again, we were sat at the bar. For a special occasion meal.). Because it was one of their dishes, the servers kept trying to clear our gift.

My wife nearly had a full glass of red wine spilled on her, twice strikes three and four since were sat next to the drinks station.

If I'm honest, I barely remember the food because the service was so bad. I remember getting a taco with crickets that was crunchy, and the donut. I remember lackluster cocktails that were overpriced. I remember being stressed the entire meal.

Odd Duck ruined their reputation with me in that one meal. I still don't understand how any restaurant so highly rated can get a simple thing like an anniversary reservation so wrong. The service alone made that one of the worst dining experiences I've had in Austin.

Food was tasty, but was brought cold. Half of our food was served. We waited half an hour for the other half, then it was brought with the egg at room temperature. The server kept telling us they were plating the second half our order for 15 minutes. To their credit, they gathered up all the food and comped the meal we did not eat. A little more candor and honesty about what was going on would have been appreciated.

The food was stunning, complex, and simple all at the same time. I was very impressed with the wait staff, who were nice, accommodating, and down-to-earth. I might make a trip specifically to Austin to eat here again.

My absolute favorite place for dinner in Austin. I love the atmosphere, the service, and the food. They change the menu all the time, so we are always enjoying something new. Save room for dessert, which they always do a really great job on! If there are only two of you dining, request to sit at the bar near the kitchen. It is fun watching the chefs at work!

Cannot highly recommend this establishment enough! The food tastes amazing and the concoctions they come up with are so unique. The staff are very friendly and can answer questions about the food in great detail. They really know the menu well. Definitely try the goat chili! It was my favorite dish, and I don't even normally like to eat goat.

The atmosphere, food, and service were on point! We savored the quail, pork loin, and wagyu burger and finished off with the buckwheat cookie and lime panna cotta. Every bite was delicious! The entire staff was friendly and helpful, working as a well oiled machine! Barely noticed when they cleared plates from the table. Fantastic experience, highly recommend!

Delicious, unique food. Unfortunate management. If you want an amazing dinner served by somewhat compotent people, this is a great place. If you expect any level of customer service, politeness, general human decency, or good business sense, you're better off at Chick Fil A. This place could care Iess about it's customers or getting repeat business.
