Some of the best food in Austin. It s perfect for a date night. Also, my wife has a seed allergy so the chef took special care to adjust dishes when he could.
Finally, the Odd Fashion is the best drink I ve ever had.

Service was spectacular! Like above and beyond: friendly, informative without being intrusive, and they even hand-edited a vegetarian menu to make a vegan menu for one of our party.
Now, the food. The plates ranged from delicious to stab-your-friends-with-a-fork-because-you-dont-want-to-share. The ceviche, carrot parfait and watermelon cocktail (with candied melon!) where especially noteworthy. Beer and wine selection were great, too.
I'm definitely coming back at my first opportunity (but I'm an out of towner :/).
Great food, Great atmosphere and very accommodating staff and CHEF! I took my 5 year old nephew and he asked the waiter for a kids menu. The waiter found it funny and we ordered some food to get us started. 5 minutes later the waiter came out with the chef asking my nephew what he would like. As any 5 year old would, he requested chicken nuggets and the chef obliged. As we were about to leave the chef came back out asking my nephew how the chicken nuggets were and his reply was simply "Umm... they were ok." Laughs were had but at the end of the day it showed a lot for the chef to come out and satisfy a bratty 5 year old kid. Amazing service and highly recommend it. Definitely and Austin favorite.
Such an eclectic menu. The restaurant was so accommodating to dietary restrictions as well, as I am lactose intolerant and my friend is a pescatarian. They brought us 2 separate menus that showed what each of us could and could not eat. What restaurants care enough to do something this detail oriented for their patrons?! I do not know many. Had such a fabulous meal sitting at the counter watching the chefs work their magic. Would recommend to anyone for a fun dining experience in Austin!
Their ingredients are fresh and locally sourced. Some of their dishes are excellent, others are pedestrian to poor. For the price, the quality of their dishes should be consistently excellent. At $20+ for lunch (appetizer + entree, before tip), the food doesn't always measure up
Love, love, love Odd Duck. Loved it as a trailer, love Barley Swine, adore Odd Duck now. Go at lunch and grab a quick cocktail with an amazing sandwich or put the pedal to the floor with a bunch of plates and a family-style dish at dinner. You can't beat this place.
Food here is amazing menu rotates regularly. Every server/bartender I have every had has been very knowledgeable about all the food and they were willing to work around all diet restrictions while still ensuring amazing food.
This is a unique restaurant that should be visited by anyone either in Austin or driving through. We started out with the stuffed pretzel, which I really enjoyed but would later realize all the other dishes would blow it out of the water. The crab toast, fried quail, morcilla with eggs, and paella were all top notch dishes and I have no criticisms about them. I would eat this exact same meal again with no hesitation. The kicker was the triple cream flan that we finished off with - amazing!!!
Interesting and tasty food - definitely check out. A couple of the dishes that we picked were less strong than the others but definitely recommend. Fantastic service from Meg when seated at the bar!
Went here recently with co-workers for lunch and the food was delicious. The waiter was very helpful and friendly. We each ordered something different and shared. Hands down, the bacon sandwich was our favorite.
Diverse menu and large drink list from craft beers to fine wine. We enjoyed the burger, sweet potato soup and puffy taco salad (no meat). Friendly and efficient staff, great ambiance.
We went on a date night. The place is cool/hip. I did like the beer selection. Wine by the glass fairly limited. Cocktails looked delicious but refrained. We had 6 dishes. They were creative and small. I was not wowed by a single one. The first 2-3 came out in a timely manner and then the final 2 came out almost an hour after we ordered them which we didn't understand. It felt like they were trying to keep us there to drink while we were waiting for our food. Glad we tried it. Will not go back.
4.5 Inventive and interesting the food was so close to 4.75. The fact that the wine (white wine) was a miss not because of Quality but because of temperature was sad. loved the quail but the peach pico was a fail the peaches were unripe and ate like an apple. Overall good the service was attentive. The oyster mushroom Tamale Pie was good.
Great place for a date. I went here because I was told there were vegan options. Our very nice server brought me a menu marked up to show what was vegan and how to modify dishes to make them vegan but there was hardly anything! And everything was so expensive and small even though I was getting less (eg. asking for no cheese)... and what I tasted I didn t really like. With that said some of the cocktails I had were very delicious, and the staff was friendly and professional. With all that said, I still think there s great ambiance and it s a great place for a date.
The food is great and very reasonable. The restaurant was pretty understaffed on the day we were there. We happened to be the first ones there and the last ones served.I would go back however and try them out. The food was delicious.
I don't even remember what we ordered. Its like we had a couple of drinks and our food came out and we blacked out because it was so good. Hmm, maybe it was the drinks but anyways the food was good and not too expensive for the quality and variety that you get. Also, it was pretty chill. The waitress was super nice and the place overall wasn't snooty. Just good food and good times.
Serves dishes using a wide variety of ingredients. A shop that will probably upset your beliefs about American cuisine that are probably among the Japanese. However, when it comes to bravo with both hands waving, I have to say that this is just a consultation with my taste.
Strawberries were also used, but this is probably. It seems to be meaningful to use Tochiotome or varieties with high Japanese fragrance, but if the flavor of the United States is weak, its presence is so weak that I cannot feel the necessity.
My favorite place right now. The menu is unique. You never go wrong with anything you choose. My taste buds are in heaven every time I go to Odd Duck. Even my husband who is a steak potato kind of guy, loves this place. This place is a must try. Great food, wait staff and atmosphere.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Austin. Not only is the food incredibly delicious, but it's all local. The owner sources as much as possible from local farms. You can taste the difference.
I'm in love with the seating by the windows on the deck. The bar has nice seating too where you can watch the kitchen. Menu is constantly changing for the best in season produce, but they'll usually make my kids' a grilled cheese if they don't want to eat anything else. Lovely staff is always helpful and knowledgeable in talking over the menu and helping to decide on what to eat.
Of course the first time I visit is right as they are reopening after covid. Sat on the patio 6ft apart from other tables and had a lovely evening. Every dish we had was excellent! Very enjoyable evening! I don't think I can begin to pick a favorite dish. The cornbread was so moist and delicious.
One of the original fancy-foods trailers gone brick and mortar. Food is delicious but the portions are tiny, the whole share-able plates idea is super annoying (and operationally not thought it), and they don't give you fresh plates or silverware unless you ask.
Odd Duck never disappoints. Their menu is inventive, really tasty, and fun. And, it's not so expensive. It is a little noisy but almost every restaurant suffers that problem.
Odd duck was the home to our rehearsal dinner before our small wedding. We selected a four course prix fixe menu, and all the food was amazing. Moreover, given the pandemic, we were thrilled to be able to have a portion of the climate controlled patio to ourselves. The service and value was excellent.
Amazing food, outstanding service, and great cocktails. Truly a highlight of a weekend in Austin! Thanks to Dustin for great service and his Austin music and bar recommendations!
Highly recommended. Enjoyed every minute. We started with a Corn bread which they serve in a small cast iron pan drizzled with a little bit of honey and garlic butter. Followed by an absolutely fresh salad with feta and nuts. Finally as a main we had the fried fish head - fabulous. Crunchy and still super moist. Best fish head ever (the picture I took is terrible) Great curated accessible wine list. We had a very pleasant Zinfandel (45$). Service attentive and friendly.
Super innovative and creative food. Had the chorizo pretzel which was super tasty and crispy. Also had the pastrami eggplant sandwich. Potentially the best sauerkraut I've ever had and the secret sauce was boss. Definitely will go back to this place.
Worth the hype! Try the pork belly sliders, to die for! The pork is so tender and fatty, it's awesome. They usually have a stand at ACL, which is one of the better places to eat at.
Give me a break, trying to upsell $17 old fashions. This place is contrived, loud, and just not a good vibe. Why drop your money here when there are numerous restaurants around with superior food and beverages for half the price?
A true 'Farm to Table' establishment. Great for any occasion and I have visited the place several times. There sister restaurant 'Sour Duck' is also an amazing experience and of course a true 'Farm to Table' restaurant!
Meh. They've got some truly fabulous dishes here (loved the pork belly and the carrot parfait), but the vast majority of it is trying way too hard and still barely rising past mediocrity. Combine that with the ever changing menu and the odds of being satisfied with your experience are just too low.
I've been to many restaurants in Austin and was just not really impressed with Odd Duck. I'm a pescetarian and my boyfriend is a full-on meat eater, so between the two of us we had a wide variety of plates. For the price, this place has such a casual atmosphere with less than stimulating flavors. Nothing was mind blowing and I won't be craving any dish from here in the future.
First of all, $17 cocktails is outrageous. If we're talking about adding in multiple luxardo cherries in each one, then OK, sure. But, that wasn't the case.
Second of all, a handful of toasted bread with butter for $7 is also pretty outrageous pricing. I don't mind paying high dollar dinners, but again, this atmosphere was just so casual that the pricing per plate combined with the level of service simply doesn't make sense. Usually, at this price point waiters clean off my setting and put in new utensils after every course.
We ended up spending $50 dollars per person and we were starving when we left. And I'm a pretty small gal. I understand many restaurants have adapted the "small plate for sharing" format, but these were more like teeny tiny plates for sharing. On top of that, the way the food was presented on the plate was very difficult to divide up and share. I wasn't blown away by any of the flavors or combinations. I wouldn't come back again. There's many Austin restaurants that offer more.
After notifying the server of a tree nut allergy, I was given a dish with tree nuts. I had to leave the restaurant immediately- half of the party I was with stayed behind to settle up. The server never told the manager what happened, and the entire experience was handled very poorly. If you have any severe food allergies or expect a professional demeanor, please do not come here. It was a disappointing experience for a group of women who had all traveled from out of town and very much looked forward to this meal.
Great experience with wonderful food. Odd duck is a limited menu farm to table restaurant, so go in expecting to get small dishes that are a bit pricey (but worth it). They suggested 2-3 dishes per person and I ended up getting 5 to split between 2 people, and that was a pretty good amount to fill us up.
This place is a must if you are going to visit Austin!! Every meal was multi layered brilliance. Portions are small but that s a plus because you can order everything. Service is almost awkwardly Phenomenal and the the Decor could have its own Instagram. The owner has a few restaurants in town. Sour duck Barley swine #OMW
Everything we ate & drank had so many interesting flavors! Really great place with perfect service. Will definitely be making this a regular spot for us!
Great fresh and local food that tastes exquisite! Fiance went there before when it was just a food trailer, this was our first time there as a restaurant. Excellent service that's will give you their favs and what's the best. I strongly recommend the zucchini pancakes (if they still have them). Note; since all the makings are bought from local farms the menu changes regularly, another awesome thing!
Top notch service with a friendly Texas smile. The food is prepped from scratch and is farm to table. That definitely can be tasted and seen in the quality of food. The mixtures are new American and can seem a bit strange but the just work. That's why the person setting the menu is a chef, and I'm 100% not. The atmosphere is excellent. I may not recommend this place with children as the menu is a bit more adult oriented and the atmosphere may not be as kid friendly as other places. Over all good vibes, great food, and great service.
A very cute place to dine in the heart is Austin. They have free valet parking which is not an easy thing to find in Austin. Make sure you make a reservation as this place is pretty popular and you might have to wait. The menu is very different and nice. Everything is very flavorful. The staff is friendly and sweet.
It would have received at least a four star if it hadn t of been for the DISRESPECTFUL, DISGUSTING, HORRENDOUS, SERVICE. I have been here once before years ago and it was a WAY different experience now... My friend and I we were seated at the bar last night to a short hair brunette bar tender and from the first moment of a non greeting was CONDESCENDING and RUDE the entire time even when I ALWAYS RESPONDED WITH KINDNESS. I said nothing EVEN THOUGH I JUST KEPT BEING POLITE...and my friend also said the server was off and not so friendly as he kindly put it. I didn t let it ruin my time, but in the end I saw what looked like nicer wait staff and felt like the uber condescending attitude really made the night not end up in the best way it could have. I have no yearn to ever go back. There are so many restaurants here that there is absolutely no need to even come back actually. The lady didn t even want to recommend anything even when I politely asked so I then decided I will have a better off chance ordering myself anyway rather than have to hear her talk down to me again. It was DEMEANING in ways and EXTREMWLY INAPPROPRIATE. Even down to when my friend was trying to help put the plate down the table, it was still in her hand so she pulled it back forcefully and said, I LL PUT IT DOWN! I just refuse to go to a place where they treat people without respect, and without dignity. 100% disgusted with this awful experience.
Different, in a good way! Great beer and wine selections. The place was exceptional and very much amazing. Easily filled so make a reservation before going. They have an excellent service.
